Barbara Rupp, age 78, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Hays from an extended illness. Barb died peacefully at her home with her two daughters. Barb was born November 29, 1941 in Oklahoma City to William and Evelyn (Qualls) Douglas. Barb graduated from Ellis high school in 1960. Barb married Alois W. Rupp on October 22, 1960 in Ellis. Alois preceded her in death on March 12, 2016.

Barb had worked at Travenol and at Walmart. Barb enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as studying genealogy. Barb was a member of St. Mary Church, Ellis.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Tony) Workman, Loveland, Colorado and Lora (Todd) Armbruster of Hays; a sister, Peggy Schoenberger, Russell, Kansas; five grandchildren, Zachariah (Maria) Armbruster, Grand Island, Nebraska, Marguerite (Yan) Stastny of Berthoud, Colorado , Shelby Workman of Loveland, Cassandra Armbruster and Candra Armbruster both of Hays; and great grandchildren, Camdyn Armbruster, Prisayus Kennedy, Draxton VanEpps, and Everleigh Whittington all of Hays, Reagan Stastny, Mila Stastny, Brooks Stastny and Quinn Stastny all of Berthoud, Dylan Armbruster of Grand Island.&nbsp;

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her biological father, Emmitt Osborn; and a brother, Eddie Douglas.

A Celebration of Life service will be held and announced at a later date when the gathering restrictions due to the Covid 19 virus have been lifted.

Jennifer Lynn Munsch, 59, passed away April 2, 2020, at the 
University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. She was born on March 
20, 1961, to Carol J. Arnall. She married Michael A. Munsch on November 
6, 1982, at Great Bend. He died March 9, 2015.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Jennifer was a specialist in 
operations and project services at CUNA Mutual, having previously worked
 at Dillons as the bakery manager and Dairy Queen as the night manager. 
She collected coca cola items, antique tins and loved the KU Jayhawks. 
She was her boys’ greatest fan and cheerleader, she never missed a game.

Survivors include, two sons, Aaron Munsch and fiancé Erica Keffer of 
Great Bend, and Trent Munsch and wife Mercedes of Pawnee Rock; her 
beloved dog Roxy; a grandson, Oliver Michael Munsch, arriving in July; a
 sister, Elwanda Brown of Eureka; and good family friend, Barbara Unruh 
of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, 
Michael Munsch.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 
2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Private family services will be held with 
Pastor Josh Leu presiding, due to restrictions and limitations set forth
 by the State of Kansas. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. 
Memorials are suggested to the Grandchildren’s Education Fund, in care 
of Bryant Funeral Home. A family celebration of life will be announced

Martin Dale Carman, 67, of Colby, died Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Hays 
Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1953, in Oberlin, KS, to Paul and
 Mary (Yeager) Carman. Martin attended school in Oberlin, graduating in 
1972. He had worked for Roofmasters and then the City of Colby for 37 
years. Martin married Wilma Brown on July 9, 1973, in Atwood, KS. In his
 free time, he enjoyed watching westerns on TV, drinking coffee and 
going to car shows. His pride and joy was his red pickup. 


Martin was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Rochelle Mather and Carolyn Kay.


He is survived by his wife Wilma, of Colby; children, Terri Carman, of 
Oakley, Debra (James) Brackett, of Colby and Gina Carman, of Colby; 
brother Darrell, of Oakley; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 
with one on the way and many nieces and nephews. 


A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 
2020, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rawlins County, KS.  All that attend 
are required to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet. Memorials

Tracy Ray Eye, 69, was called home on April 4, 2020 at The University of Kansas Health System Pawnee Valley Campus, Larned, KS.

He was born January 28, 1951 in Dodge City, KS, the son of Clair Kenneth (Kenny) and Wanda Cleone McVaugh Eye.

He retired at First National Bank/Farmer’s Bank in Larned after 35 
years.&nbsp; He served in the community in many roles including a past 
president of the Larned Chamber of Commerce, a founding member of the 
Pawnee County Fair Board, Treasurer for the Santa Fe Trail Auto Club and
 the Larned High School All Class Reunion, board member of the Larned 
Orphan Grain Train, Larned Rotary Club, State Theatre of Larned.&nbsp; He was
 a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he had served in the past as 
President and Elder.

Tracy loved working at his shop with his Volkswagens and Studebakers 
with his faithful dog and buddy Ace.&nbsp; He also helped race Micro Midgets 
with his nieces and nephews in Garden City.&nbsp; He was fond of making 
creative items from a variety of scrap parts.&nbsp; He also enjoyed watching 
movies, racing, and watching car auctions on TV and any car related 
shows he could find.

Tracy married Lois Larson on January 12, 1985 at Grace Lutheran Church in Larned.&nbsp; She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters, Stacie (Leon) Pearson of 
Kearney, Nebraska, Alyson (Shawn) Coffman of Ogallala, Nebraska, Afton 
(Russell) Linderer of Larned, and Anika (Turner) Polzin, of McPherson; 
sister, Cindy (Ed) Boman of Spanaway, Washington; brother, Rodney Eye of
 Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Paige, Preston and Peytyn Pearson, 
Emma and Alexandra Coffman, and Edith Elizabeth and Benjamin Russell 
Linderer, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Wanda Eye.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2020, public

Loretta Mae (Parker) Andrews was born on April 15, 1937 to Harley and
 Cora Mae (Thornton) Parker at her grandmother’s house in Phillips 
County and passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Phillips County
 Retirement Center at the age of 82.

Loretta grew up in Speed and attended school there until transferring
 to Phillipsburg High School her freshman year and graduating with the 
class of 1955.&nbsp; She married her high school sweetheart, Donovan Lee 
Andrews on August 28, 1955, at the Calvary Baptist Church, Phillipsburg,
 KS, and to this union four children were born: Gregory Scott, Kerry 
Lee, Candace Dawn and Rebecca Jean.

Loretta grew up attending the Calvary Baptist Church where she was 
saved and baptized. Later in life she became a member of the United 
Methodist Church.&nbsp; She had a love for playing the piano.&nbsp; When she was 
younger she played for a church broadcast over the radio in Hays, 
Kansas, her parents drove her there each Sunday and later she played for
 church services and her family.&nbsp; This ability to beautifully play by 
ear was a special talent that Alzheimer’s didn’t steal from her.

Don and Loretta owned several businesses in Phillipsburg: Don’s 
Dairy, Phillips 66 service station and Don Andrews Insurance Agency.&nbsp; 
Loretta helped with bookwork and also worked as Jr. High Secretary and 
at the Board of Education office in Phillipsburg. Loretta and Don 
enjoyed life together traveling, racing go-carts, taking their four 
children on many vacations, boating and camping. After her husband 
passed away in 1992, she filled her time with family, friends and her 
mother Cora Mae. Loretta enjoyed many trips with friends and family, 
shopping, and babysitting babies.

Loretta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. Her greatest joys 
were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known 
as GaGa to the grands and all of their friends. She was their biggest 
supporter and enjoyed family celebrations, with Christmas being her 
favorite time of the year.

After struggling with Alzheimer’s, Loretta moved into Prairie Wind 
Villa assisted living and three years later was transferred to the 
Phillips County Retirement Center. She gained many friends while living 
there as her smile and big blue eyes still showed her personality.&nbsp;

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and parents Harley and Cora Mae.

Survivors include her children: Greg Andrews and wife Barb, Elephant 
Butte, NM; Kerry Andrews and wife Chrissy, Dorrance, KS; Candy Yoxall

Mabel Marie (Werth) Schmidt, age 93 passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Via Christi Village, Hays. She was born June 16, 1924 to Genevieve Zimmerman and Theobald Werth on a farm near Schoenchen, Ks. Mabel was one of seven children. At an early
 age her father contracted TB, died and Genevieve married Jacob Randa who also had seven children. Together an additional five children were born.



Mabel was raised on farms in and around Schoenchen attending both grade and high school there.


On June 16, 1942 Mabel married Richard “Rich” Schmidt and they moved to a farm east of Antonino, Ks. There they raised their nine children: JoAnn, Gary, Elaine, Chuck, Richard, Karen, Dan, Mark and Cecil. Mabel and Rich farmed until 2007 when, due to health,
 Rich moved to the Via Christi retirement facility with Mabel following in 2013. 


Mabel was a farmer, gardener, painter, seamstress and, to her family, the central cook. But most of all she was a devoted mother with deep religious convictions and a devoted wife. Mabel painted many lamps and ornamental items for her children, grandchildren,
 relatives and friends. Her home was the central meeting place for all her family at all the special occasions, family and religious events. And Mabel was never shy on providing moral and ethical insights. She clearly knew right from wrong and lived her life
 that way. 


She is survived by the remaining sons and daughters: JoAnn(Don) Wilcox-Lawrence, Gary(Kathy) Schmidt-Olathe, Elaine(Dennis) Allen-Scott City, Rich(Vicki) Schmidt-Mulvane, Karen Schmidt-Hays, Dan(Joan) Schmidt-Hoisington, Mark(Becky) Schmidt-Wichita, Cecil(Eileen)
 Schmidt-Wichita; half-sisters, Jennie Reibel and Berniece Randa; 27 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.



Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Rich on April 1, 2010; a son, Chuck; two brothers, Severin and Lefty Werth; and sisters, Eleanor Pfannenstiel, Loretta Dinges, Irene Herrman and Edna Dinges.


Private family graveside services will take place at St Anthony Cemetery in Schoenchen, Kansas.


A funeral mass will be held and announced at a later date when the gathering restrictions due to the Covid 19 virus have been lifted.

Dennis Lee Engel, age 65, of Hays, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Hays surrounded by loved ones.&nbsp; He was born January 20, 1955 in Hays to Victor Engel and Viola (Dougherty) Engel.&nbsp;

Dennis worked at LK Dairy and the 24/7 convenience store as the assistant manager and manager where he retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, fantasy sports, playing baseball and softball. &nbsp;

He married Carol Herl on January 22, 1986. They later divorced.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Engel of Hays, one son, Eric (Jamie) Engel of Hays, two daughters; Jennifer (Travis) Ratliff of Greeley, CO and Kelli Engel of Hays, KS; one brother Steve (Robin) Engel of Hays; two sisters Alice (Larry) Robben of Hays, and Lois (Ralph) Augustine of Hays; Grandchildren include Brandon Ratliff, Brianna Ratliff, Evan Cosgriff - Guthrie, Abigail Engel and two step grand children Robert Brown and Sabrina Brown.&nbsp;

Dennis Lee Engel

Verlyn Frederick Witthuhn, age 98, of Bazine, Kansas, passed away 
April 2, 2020 at Cedar Village, Long Term Care, Ness City, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp; He 
was born on July 19, 1921 at home, 1.25 miles west of Bazine, the son of
 Louis H., Sr. and Anna (Mauth) Witthuhn. He was raised on the family 
farm, attended Walnut Hill School and Bazine High School, graduating in 
the class of 1940. Verlyn served in the U.S. Army from 1942 – 1946, 
stationed in the Philippines, during World War II.

Verlyn and Melba Irene Price were married on June 3, 1947, at St. 
Luke’s Lutheran Church in Bazine. Verlyn was a life-long farmer, 
cattleman and rancher. He retired in 2008. He was a lifetime resident of
 Bazine and involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors
 at the Bazine Cooperative Grain and Supply, Bazine City Council and 
Larned PCA Board of Directors. He was a founding member and elder of St.
 Luke’s Lutheran Church and a founding member of American Legion Post 
392.

Verlyn was a square dance caller and instructor for over 20 years in 
western Kansas. Verlyn and Melba enjoyed square dancing and made many 
friends over the years square dancing.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Verlyn was a devoted and loving husband, dad, grandpa and great 
grandpa. He is survived by his wife Melba, of 72 years; three children 
and spouses, Verlene (Gayle) Miller of Bentonville, Arkansas; Arlen 
(Michele) Witthuhn of Bazine, Kansas; and Sharlitta (John) Johnson of 
Topeka, Kansas; four grandchildren, Kimberly Rossman of Tulsa, Oklahoma;
 Jason (Jenny) Miller of Bentonville, Arkansas; Brianne Johnson of 
Topeka and McKenzie Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas; four great 
granddaughters, Harley and Brinna Rossman and Jules and Jess Miller.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, 
Lena and Ralph Strecker, brother Milton “Bud” Witthuhn, brother and 
sister-in-law Louis H., Jr. and Sibyl Witthuhn, brother and 
sister-in-law, Harold and Harriett Witthuhn, three nephews, Jon 
Strecker, Larry Witthuhn and Eldon Witthuhn and two nieces Janice 
Strecker and Verta Witthuhn. &nbsp;

Interment in the Bazine Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

the Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp; Ferdinand was born on July 
22, 1931 in Great Bend, KS to Fred F. A. and Gertrude N. (Hanson) 
Burmeister.&nbsp;&nbsp; He married Ivonne (Vonnie) S. Grossardt on January 23, 
1960 in Claflin, KS.

A lifetime resident of Barton County, Fritz farmed near Galatia, 
Claflin, and Ellinwood.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He graduated from Claflin High School and 
Fort Hays State University with a degree in agriculture.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was a 
member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a 50-year 
member of the American Legion.

Fritz was a 56 year member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Galatia
 and served on the Clara Barton Foundation Board for many years.&nbsp;&nbsp; He 
was proud to be an official weather observer for the National Weather 
Service for more than 25 years. He supported his children as a leader 
with the Fairview Scouts 4-H club and was active on the local Election 
Boards.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife, Vonnie, of Bel Aire, sons Chris (Shahi) 
of Cinnaminson, NJ, Dan (Tammy) of Plainfield, IL, and Kurt (Mandy) of 
Eastborough, KS; grandsons Zane (Daniella) of Chesterfield, MI, Jacob 
(Hannah) of Royal Oak, MI, Grant of Golden, CO, and Graham of 
Eastborough, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp; He is also survived by his brother Paul of Hoisington
 and sister Nellie Lundgren of Austin, TX, as well as many nieces and 
nephews.

Ferdinand 'Fritz' H. Burmeister

Edward John Oborny Jr., was born May 30, 1940, to Edward J. Oborny Sr., and Mary Ann (Kopriva) Oborny.&nbsp; He departed this life on April 3, 2020, at the age of 79 while a resident at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed in La Crosse, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret J. (Bieber) Oborny of the home; children, Greg Oborny, Prairie Village, Kansas, Jenifer Oborny, Great Bend, Kansas, and Tim Oborny (Patricia, Bison, Kansas; grandchildren, Audra, Wyatt, Cordell, and Isaac, all of Bison; and one stepsister, Margaret Ann Wetter (Eugene, Norton, Kansas.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his step mother, Blanche Oborny; and one sister, Marcella (Oborny) Stos, Otis, Kansas.

Ed was an accomplished cornet player with skills he learned while being the youngest member of the Oborny family band in the 1950s.&nbsp; This served him through his high school days at Bison and in the KSU Marching College Band.&nbsp; He graduated from Kansas State University in 1962 with degrees in agronomy and animal husbandry.&nbsp; Ed returned to the family farm and married his high school sweetheart on October 12, 1963.&nbsp; There he settled into the community by serving on the Holy Trinity Parish Council and singing in the Holy Trinity Choir.&nbsp; He also served on Extension and Irrigation boards, both state and local, as well as the Rush County Hospital board, Kansas Crop Improvement Association and Kansas Seed Industry boards.&nbsp; He was most proud of earning the Premier Seed Grower Award in 1975.&nbsp; Growing and conditioning certified seed was a passion of his.&nbsp; It is hard to imagine the number of wheat acres that have been planted with seed grown and conditioned under his supervision.

Ed never forgot his humble roots and remained devoted to this faith, family and farm.&nbsp; He was proud of his Czech heritage, and to his last days could still mumble Czech phrases.&nbsp; Ed provided an example and blueprint to his kids and grandkids on how to live a productive life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas.&nbsp; Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Timken.&nbsp; Because of the current challenges the world is facing at the present time, the funeral service and interment will be private, immediate family only.&nbsp; There will be no visitation.

Oborny Sr., and Mary Ann (Kopriva) Oborny.&nbsp; He departed this life on April 3, 2020, at the age of 79 while a resident at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed in La Crosse, Kansas.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret J. (Bieber) Oborny of the home; children, Greg Oborny, Prairie Village, Kansas, Jenifer Oborny, Great Bend, Kansas, and Tim Oborny (Patricia, Bison, Kansas; grandchildren, Audra, Wyatt, Cordell, and Isaac, all of Bison; and one stepsister, Margaret Ann Wetter (Eugene, Norton, Kansas.Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his step mother, Blanche Oborny; and one sister, Marcella (Oborny) Stos, Otis, Kansas.Ed was an accomplished cornet player with skills he learned while being the youngest member of the Oborny family band in the 1950s.&nbsp; This served him through his high school days at Bison and in the KSU Marching College Band.&nbsp; He graduated from Kansas State University in 1962 with degrees in agronomy and animal husbandry.&nbsp; Ed returned to the family farm and married his high school sweetheart on October 12, 1963.&nbsp; There he settled into the community by serving on the Holy Trinity Parish Council and singing in the Holy Trinity Choir.&nbsp; He also served on Extension and Irrigation boards, both state and local, as well as the Rush County Hospital board, Kansas Crop Improvement Association and Kansas Seed Industry boards.&nbsp; He was most proud of earning the Premier Seed Grower Award in 1975.&nbsp; Growing and conditioning certified seed was a passion of his.&nbsp; It is hard to imagine the number of wheat acres that have been planted with seed grown and conditioned under his supervision.Ed never forgot his humble roots and remained devoted to this faith, family and farm.&nbsp; He was proud of his Czech heritage, and to his last days could still mumble Czech phrases.&nbsp; Ed provided an example and blueprint to his kids and grandkids on how to live a productive life.&nbsp;

L. Davis on May 21, 2005, at Great Bend. She survives.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, David was a Sergeant for the Barton 
County Sheriff's Office. He was the president of the DARE Association 
and a member of the Kansas Sheriff's Association. He ran the gun range 
at the sheriff's office and enjoyed shooting. David was a member of the 
First United Methodist Church in Great Bend. He enjoyed Nascar, the 
Kansas City Chiefs, golfing and hunting.

Survivors include, his wife, Heather Smith of the home; his parents, 
Randy and Sandy Smith of Great Bend; four daughters, Kenda Werth and 
husband Brandon, Madison Smith, McKayla Smith and Kaycee Smith, all of 
Great Bend; three grandchildren, Jaselyn, Brielle and Ava; and his 
father and mother in law, Mike and Debbie Davis of Great Bend. He was 
preceded in death by his grandparents, Chet and Louise Smith, and Howard
 and Melva Pedigo; a brother in law, Travis Davis; and aunt, Kandis 
Pedigo.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 
6, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Private family services will be held

Terry graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Salina.&nbsp; He worked in 
management for various clothing and department stores, including Longs, 
Dillards, and Jos A. Bank.&nbsp; Terry was a member of Church of the Holy 
Cross, Hutchinson.

On October 19, 1963, he married Deanna Schumacher in Hays.

Terry is survived by:&nbsp; his wife of almost 58 years, Deanna of

James Armond “Jim” Dallen, 73, loving husband, father &amp; grandpa, 
died March 31, 2020, at his home in Hoisington. He was born April 21, 
1946, in rural Clifton, Kansas, the son of Louis Ancy Dallen and Stella 
Marie (Girard) Dallen. He was raised in the Catholic faith. Jim 
graduated from Clifton High School in 1964, he then served in the Army 
as a Sergeant from 1967 to 1969 receiving the Purple Heart.

On August 31, 1968, he married Marsha E. Hays at the Schilling Air Force Base Chapel in Salina.

Jim retired from Dillons after 39 years, working as a meat cutter and
 being promoted to market manager in 1980. Jim enjoyed sports and was 
once active in several bowling leagues.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Marsha E. Dallen of 
the home; daughter, Jennifer Ann Wilson-Compton and husband Jeffrey of 
Hoisington; son, Richard James Dallen and wife Violeta of Copperas Cove,
 Texas; siblings, Loretta Cyre of Clay Center, Eli Dallen of Perry, 
Oklahoma, Emma Rose Dunphy of Manhattan, and Shirley Richechy of 
Belleville; nine grandchildren, Justin Dallen, Austin Dallen, Brittny 
Dallen, Taylor Dallen and wife Madison, Brittany Turner and husband 
Duke, Clarke Wilson, Jr., Tristin Compton, Jaala Compton; and six great

James Armond 'Jim' Dallen

Carl Lee Bryant, 81, died March 31, 2020, at Great Bend Health &amp; 
Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 2, 1939, in Compton, Arkansas, 
the son of Oscar and Maybell (Hollingsworth) Bryant.

On January 27, 1961, he married Rose Marie Bird, in Lincoln, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2015.

A longtime Hoisington resident, Carl retired from Klima Well Service.

Survivors include his three children; Louann Clark &amp; 
husband&nbsp;Lawrence&nbsp;of Susank, Janice Lauber and husband Daniel of Great 
Bend, and Vivian Bryant of Great Bend; three sisters, Sandra Morrison, 
and Andra Dean, of Harrison, Arkansas, and Alma Fox of Larned; 11 
grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roy Bryant; brothers, 
Leroy, Freddie, and Willie Bryant; a sister, Delpha Anderson; and a 
great granddaughter, Abigail Richardson.

Friends may call 9a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Due to

service will be held. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery.

County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas. He was born December 30, 1943 in

graduated from Ness City High School in 1962. He was a member of the 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City. He was preceded in death by 
his parents; brothers Robert Leikam, Wayne Leikam, and sister Lorena 
(Leikam) Stoecklein. 

Survivors include daughter Jo Ann Hashenberger,
 husband Brian Hashenberger of Natoma, Kansas, their three children 
Danny Ellis and wife Cambria (Eickhoff) of Natoma, Kansas, Tera

Dennis Lee Engel, age 65, of Hays, 
Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Hays surrounded by loved
 ones.&nbsp; He was born January 20, 1955 in Hays to Victor Engel and Viola 
(Dougherty) Engel.&nbsp;

Dennis worked at LK Dairy and 
the&nbsp;24/7&nbsp;convenience&nbsp;store as the assistant manager and manager where he
 retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, fantasy sports, 
playing baseball and softball. &nbsp;

He is survived by his mother, Viola 
Engel of Hays, one son, Eric (Jamie) Engel of Hays, two daughters; 
Jennifer (Travis) Ratliff of Greeley, CO and Kelli Engel of Hays, KS; 
one brother Steve (Robin) Engel of Hays; two sisters Alice (Larry)

 </figure>Dennis Lee Engel, age 65, of Hays, 
Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Hays surrounded by loved
 ones.&nbsp; He was born January 20, 1955 in Hays to Victor Engel and Viola 
(Dougherty) Engel.&nbsp;Dennis worked at LK Dairy and 
the&nbsp;24/7&nbsp;convenience&nbsp;store as the assistant manager and manager where he
 retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, fantasy sports, 
playing baseball and softball. &nbsp;He married Carol Herl on January 22, 1986. They later divorced.He is survived by his mother, Viola 
Engel of Hays, one son, Eric (Jamie) Engel of Hays, two daughters; 
Jennifer (Travis) Ratliff of Greeley, CO and Kelli Engel of Hays, KS; 
one brother Steve (Robin) Engel of Hays; two sisters Alice (Larry) 
Robben of Hays, and Lois (Ralph) Augustine of Hays; Grandchildren 
include Brandon Ratliff, Brianna Ratliff, Evan Cosgriff - Guthrie, 
Abigail Engel and two step grand children Robert Brown and Sabrina 
Brown.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Cliff, and brother in law Larry Robben.&nbsp;Funeral services to be held at a later 
date and announced by Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory&nbsp;2509

Dakota Shane Clawson was stillborn on March 30, 2020, at University of Kansas Health Systems Great Bend Campus, Great Bend.

He is survived by his mother, Lindsay Clawson, Larned; two sisters, 
Peyton Clawson and Ryleigh Stapleton, both of the home; grandmother Mary
 Clawson, Salina, and great grandparents, Sam and Betty Ryan, Larned.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Jerald A. “Jerry” Lamb, 73, passed away March 30, 2020, at his home 
in Great Bend. He was born October 2, 1946, at Red Cloud, Neb., to Elwin
 D. &amp; Bessie (Novak) Lamb. He married Rosella Faye Sweeden, on April
 2, 1963, at Great Bend. She survives.

A Great Bend resident for most of his life, Jerry was a Dish Network 
Installer. He loved to tinker with things in his garage. He enjoyed 
spending time with his family and loved his dog Dusty.

Survivors include, his wife, Faye Lamb of the home; a son, Mike Lamb 
and wife Wanda of Ruidoso, New Mexico; a daughter in law, Tina Lamb of 
Great Bend; two brothers, Danny Lamb and wife Kayleen of Plainville and 
Rick Lamb and wife Susan of Hoisington; 12 grandchildren; several great 
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 
his parents; a son, Scott Lamb; a brother, Leroy Lamb; and three 
sisters, Sandra Miller, Nancy Lamb, and Glennis McNett.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place and private 
family services will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the 
register book Monday, April 6th through Friday, April 10, 
2020, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Jerald Lamb 
Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
