Ann Stanton passed away on March 6, 2020. She was born on July 8, 
1940 in Larned, Kansas to Robert and Kathleen (McMorran) Yeager. She 
spent her childhood growing up in Larned and graduated from Larned High 
School. She went on to attend the University of Kansas where she 
received a bachelor’s degree in education. Her adventures began and 
after traveling abroad for several months she moved to Laguna Beach, CA 
to teach elementary school. There she met the love of her life, Major 
Bobby Gene Stanton, who was stationed at El Toro Air Station serving in 
the Marines. They were married August 9, 1964 in Larned at the First 
Presbyterian Church. After Bob retired from the Military, they settled 
in Larned, KS to raise their family and live out their lives.

Ann enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, cooking, playing bridge, 
and was known for hosting many wonderful gatherings for friends and 
family in their home. Ann belonged to the PEO and was a member of the 
Lambda chapter of Chi Omega.

Ann is survived by her husband—Bobby Gene Stanton; children—Richard 
Stanton, Kim Stanton, and Cathy Haymaker; grandchildren—Jessica 
Haymaker-Parsons and Jennifer Haymaker; brother—Richard Yeager; and 
nieces and nephews—Jake Yeager, Luke Yeager, and Julie Cummings.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen (McMorran) Yeager and her father, Robert Yeager.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beckwith Mortuary 
Chapel, Larned, with Reverend Jack Singer presiding. Visitation 9:00 
a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Inurnment in 
Larned Cemetery, Larned.

Ann Stanton

Gail L. Mongeau, age 63 of Plainville, passed away on Monday, March 9, 
2020 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville. Gail was born on 
December 5, 1956 in Hays, Kansas to Levi and Grace (Meyers) Mongeau. He 
grew up around Zurich and attended and graduated from Palco High School.
 Following his graduation he attended the K-State Vocational Technical 
School in Manhattan. 


After he finished his schooling he returned back to the Rooks County
 area working in the oil field until he moved to Elk City, Oklahoma in 
1986 where he continued his work in the oil fields. In Oklahoma he met 
Clarsie Hargues. They were united in marriage in Sayre, Oklahoma on 
April 16, 1990. The couple moved back to the Rooks County area in 2019 
to assist Gail’s brother, Keith, with his farming operation. 


Gail was an avid sports’ fan. His favorite teams included the Denver
 Broncos for football, and the Oklahoma City Thunder for basketball. He 
was a big fan of his grandchildren’s sporting events; he tried to attend
 as many as he could. Gail loved his family; spending time with them at 
their regular cook-outs and playing jokes on his grandkids were some of 
his favorite things to do. He also enjoyed going to car shows, going on 
long cruises, and fishing. 


He is survived by his wife, Clarsie Mongeau of the home; daughter 
Jessica (Dominic) Krueger of Elk City, OK; step-daughters, Whitney 
(Dell) Vanderwork of Elk City, OK, and Shannon (Terry) Robbins of 
Ardmore, OK; brother, Greg (Kaylene) of Bullard, TX; and sister, Sheila 
(Ross) Deckert of Morrison, CO; fifteen grandchildren, Vince, Hunter, 
Robbie, Ryan, Kelly, Kody, Alex, Gracie, Cadence, Hannah, Gauge, Jaeden,
 Bentli, Axton, and Adisyn; eight great-grandchildren, Lily, Leo, Quade,
 Aubree, Mave, Willow, Kenadee, and Karson; and a sister-in-law, June 
Mongeau of Plainville.

Duane Mann, son of Clifford and Erma (Waufle) Mann, was born November 28, 1929, in Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at the Downs Care Center in Downs, Kansas, on March 10, 2020, at the age of 90.

Duane spent his life in Norton County where he attended rural grade school.  He married Betty Schutze in Norton and they made their home farming in the Norton community.  

Duane was a member of the Norton Christian Church.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting woodworking and attending dances at the Eagles Club.  He was also an avid Kansas City Royals fan.

Survivors include:  his daughter, Charlene Mann-Hill, Overland Park, Kansas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty. 

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Duane Mann

Margaret “Maggie” E. (Heier) Zerr passed away Monday, March 9, 2020, at 
the Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care, Hoxie, Kansas at the 
age of 95.  She was born in Park, Kansas September 27, 1924 to the late 
John and Mary (Heisler) Heier.  She grew up on a farm south of Park, 
Kansas in Gove County.  Maggie attended school in rural Gove County and 
graduated from 8th grade. Shortly after graduation, her mother passed 
away, and she stayed home to care for her younger siblings and the home.
  On February25, 1946, Margaret Heier was united in marriage to Bernard 
N. Zerr at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Park, Kansas.  They made 
their home on a farm north of Park and were blessed with five children, 
two boys and three girls.  After Bernard’s death, Maggie moved to Hoxie 
in 1975 where she lived until her death.  She was a devout member of the
 Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of Park, Kansas, and the St. Frances 
Cabrini Catholic Church of Hoxie, Kansas and loved her Lord Jesus 
Christ.


Shortly after moving to Hoxie, Maggie went to work as cook for USD 
412 Elementary School.  She loved her work and retired from the job when
 she was seventy years old.  Maggie was a great cook and baker.  One of 
her specialties was her delicious cinnamon rolls.   She grew a large 
garden canning much of the produce as well canning fruit and meat.  She 
also loved to sew and made clothes for her children and in later years, 
rugs out of double knit material.  When Maggie wasn’t working, she loved
 to play cards.   She was a member of the Sacred Heart Alter Society, 
St. Frances Sodality, and of Park VFW Auxiliary.  She always had a smile
 on her face.  Most of all, Maggie loved her family. Each of her 
children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great 
grandchildren were loved and cherished by her.  


Maggie is survived by her children, Ralph Zerr and wife Norma of 
Park, Kansas, Bernita Wagoner and husband Ron of Great Bend, Kansas, 
Alberta Cameron of Colby, Kansas, and Eugenia Delzeit of Loveland, 
Colorado; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great 
grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Zerr; parents, 
John and Mary Heier; son, Robert Zerr; granddaughter, Tamera Wagner and 
great-granddaughter, Kristen Trickle. brothers, Anthony Heier, Nicholas 
Heier, George Heier, Theodore Heier, and Fidelis Heier; and sisters, 
Clara Uhrich and Ida Schwarzenberger. 


A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Saturday ,March 14, 2020, 
10:00 A.M., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park, Kansas.  
Interment will follow the service in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery,
 Park.  Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 
Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie, Kansas from Noon until 8:00 P.M. The

Margaret 'Maggie' E. (Heier) Zerr

Anita Marie Phillips, 54, passed away March 7, 2020, at Salina 
Regional Health Center, Salina. She was born on January 16, 1966, at 
Abilene, Texas, to Claude Darrell &amp; Rose Mary (Wapelhorst) Phillips.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Anita was a daycare provider. She was
 a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose and Altar Society. She 
volunteered for many years at CKMC. She loved gardening and crocheting. 
She especially loved animals, children and writing stories.

Survivors include, her mother, Rose Mary Phillips of Great Bend; a 
sister, Angela (Phillips) McClure and husband Doug of Sioux City, Iowa; 
and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her 
father, Claude Darrell Phillips; and her grandparents.

Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th,
 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., 
Saturday, March 28, 2020. Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery.

Anita Marie Phillips

Mary Wolf Goede, 99, died on January 17, 2020, at Lake Minnetonka Shores Care Center in Spring Park, Minnesota. 

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Melvin Goede, who died on December 23, 1962; and also her parents, six brothers, four sisters, and one stillborn infant girl. Mary was born at home on the family homestead near Park, Kansas, to Volga German immigrant parents, Bernhard Wolf and Catherine Zimmerman, both of whom had been born in Russia. During World War II, she worked in a defense plant in San Diego, where she and Darrell married as the war ended. Mary had a great love for family and German foods and traditions. Over her long lifetime, Mary performed volunteer work for various charities and, up until her physical condition restricted her from doing so, she relished engaging in conversation about the world, local and national politics, and her family. Her final resting place will be next to her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Park, Kansas.

She is survived by her four children: Larry Goede and his wife Kathleen Weibel of Eagan, Minnesota; Nancy Glover of Burke, Virginia; Daniel Goede and his wife Donna Goede of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Mary Catherine LeFevere and her husband, Clayton LeFevere of Chanhassen, Minnesota. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2385 Commerce Blvd. Mound, MN, on Friday, January 31 at 11:00, with viewing at 10:00.

Burial service was Friday March 13, 2020 at 11 AM with a visitation starting at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church and Cemetery in Park, Kansas.

Mary Wolf Goede

Jana Marie Hoffman, age 44, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Newton, Kansas. She was born June the 20, 1975 in Hays to William Dale Hoffman and Mary Stahl.&nbsp; She graduated from Hays High in 1993 and earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Wichita State University.

Jana worked as an aesthetician and owned her own company called My Skin Care Coach. She was very active in fitness and hiking and was always looking to help others.

She is survived by her father William Hoffman and stepmother Jody of Hays, her mother, Mary Smith and stepfather Larry of Newton; three sisters, Jenny Orr and husband Ray of Grand Junction, CO, Shannon Funk and husband Heath of Hays and Natausha Dreher and husband Ryan of Hays; a brother, Conrad Hoffman of Tempe, AZ; &nbsp;a stepsister, Amy Stutzman and husband Dalton&nbsp;of Newton&nbsp;; stepbrothers, Jason Smith&nbsp;of Newton&nbsp;, Toby Smith and wife Alicia&nbsp;of Newton, nieces and nephews, Nolan Dreher, Lydia Funk, Jaxon Orr, Landon Funk and Lena Funk; step nieces and nephews, Cain, Jordy and Dylan Smith, Madison and Dawson Stutzman.

Emery J. Meis, age 73, died Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born June 29, 1946, at Hays, Kansas, to Joseph P. and Helen (Vonfeldt) Meis. &nbsp;

He grew up in rural Ellis County and attended the Lost Canyon School and later received his diploma from Ellis County Schools, and he also completed several art classes at Wichita State University and Fort Hays Sate University.

He worked in the oil fields and then moved back to Hays in the 1990’s.&nbsp; He owned Emery’s Nursery &amp; Landscaping and worked for Hays Greenhouse for a number of years.&nbsp; He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Catholic Campus Center both of Hays.&nbsp; He has been a resident of Via Christi Village since 2014.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Meis-Rivas and Tony Nunez, Holcomb, KS; Judy Meis-Cole and Jon Haag, Dighton, KS; two brothers, Leroy Meis, Victoria, KS; Kenny Meis and wife, Jeanie, Catharine, KS; one sister, Edie Braun and husband, Wayne, Hays, KS; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.&nbsp;

Audrey Lea Johanns Miller, only child of Arthur and Elizabeth 
(Pruessing) Johanns, was born on February 4, 1926, at Syracuse, NE.&nbsp; She
 passed away on March 8, 2020, at Prairie Wind Villa Assisted Living, 
Phillipsburg, KS.

When Audrey was seven years old, her mother passed away.&nbsp; Her 
father's sister, Lillian and her husband, Pastor Anton Eggerling, took 
her to live with them when she was ten.&nbsp; The family moved to Kensington 
when Pastor Eggerling accepted a call to St. John Lutheran Church in 
1941.&nbsp; Audrey attended Kensington High School and graduated with the 
Class of 1944.&nbsp; She was baptized on May 23, 1926 by Rev. Gabler at the 
St. John's Evangelical Church, Syracuse, NE., &nbsp;and confirmed in the 
Lutheran faith on May 12, 1940,&nbsp; by Pastor Anton Eggerling, at the 
Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilbur, NE.

Audrey was united in marriage to Leland F. Miller on April 21, 1946, 
at St. John Lutheran Church, Kensington, KS.&nbsp; Their union was blessed 
with four children: Cherie, Steven, Roger and Mark.&nbsp; They raised their 
family on the farm northeast of Agra.&nbsp; Audrey was a devoted wife, 
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life revolved around her
 family.&nbsp; She was a homemaker, enjoying cooking, baking and sewing.&nbsp; She
 was a quilter and made many quilts for her family.&nbsp; They retired from 
the farm in 1992 and moved to Phillipsburg.

Audrey was an active member of St. Johns all of her life.&nbsp; She 
enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday School, was an 
active member of WELCA, and the St. John's quilting group.&nbsp; Audrey was 
also active in K-town Kates and several bridge club groups.

She loved her family and her seven grandsons were her pride and joy.&nbsp;
 She felt their love many times in return.&nbsp; She was blessed with many 
friends through her long years,

Preceding her in death were her parents, her step-mother, her Aunt 
and Uncle Eggerling, her husband, her son, Roger, and grandson, Joshua.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Cherie Crain, Derby, KS; her sons, 
Steven and wife, Linda, Agra, KS; and Mark, Dodge City, KS; her 
grandsons,&nbsp; Mitch, Agra, KS; Kyle and wife, Brittany, Overland Park, KS;
 Jared and wife, Christen, Olsburg, KS; Neal, Colorado Springs, CO; Wynn
 and Tate, Dodge City, KS; her great-grandsons Parker, Overland Park, 
KS; Preston and Greyson, Olsburg, KS; her great-granddaughter, Vale, 
Overland Park, KS; her cousins, Robert Eggerling and Paul Eggerling and 
wife, Jen; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Rahjes, Phillipsburg; &nbsp;her

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 
16, 2020 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Kensington, with Pastors Lorna
 Paulus and Lee Bennight officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the St. 
John Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Audrey Lea Johanns Miller

Irene Emily Morgan, 87, of Great Bend, died March 6, 2020, at 
Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, Kan. She was born July 5, 1932, in 
Renfro, Oklahoma, to Lee Roy Elliott and Lottie E. (Kralicek) Elliott. 
She married Raymond K. Morgan on May 23, 1949, in Arkansas City, Kansas.
 He died on October 13, 2010.

Irene and Ray resided in Great Bend since 1950, where they proudly 
raised 10 children. Irene was a stay at home wife and mother, always 
toting around a child, grandchild or great grandchild. She enjoyed 
family the most but found time to enjoy gardening and local town music 
festivities.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; two brothers, Jimmy L. 
Elliott, and Lee F. Elliott; and one son, Russell W. Morgan. Survivors 
include, four daughters, Orlena K. Allen of Littleton, Colo., Winona F. 
Smith of Hutchinson, Kan., Rosena G. Barton and husband Bob of Highlands
 Ranch, Colo., and Lisa J. Morgan and husband Stan Allison of Great 
Bend, Kan.; five sons, Kenneth L. Morgan and wife Jolene of Bison, Kan.,
 Daniel L. Morgan and wife Joan of Durham, N.C., Kim D. Morgan and wife

married Ithel Doyle Cook on August 1, 1954 at Harlen, Kan. He died April
 17, 2018.A long time Great Bend resident, Gwen previously 
worked for Colonial Savings, Landmark Bank and American State Bank in 
Great Bend. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family, 
especially the grandkids. 

Survivors include, two daughters, Jana Murray and husband Tom, and 
Sheryl Mauler, all of Great Bend; a son-in-law, Dallas Dobbs; nine 
grandchildren, Ashley Orewiler and husband Scott, Susan Bonczyk and 
husband CJ, Haley Dobbs, Jessica Dobbs, Caitlyn Johnson and husband 
Kyle, Brandon Mauler and wife Mindy, Rebecca Karlin and husband Matt, 
Trenton Mauler and wife Chelsea, and McKenna Mauler; and six great

Bonita “Bonnie” Catherine (Heim) Lager died on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie.


Bonnie was born on July 8, 1929, at the Hays hospital to Bill and Marie 
(Mannebach) Heim. The family lived in Leoville, KS and it was there that
 she met her husband, Alfred “Bud” at a local dance. Bud and Bonnie 
married on August 23, 1950. Together, they were dairy farmers, living 
north of Grinnell before moving into Grinnell in 1997.


Bonnie was an avid collector of glassware. She also loved to meet and 
talk with people, so she took up selling Beeline clothing, Bestline 
cleaning products, Tri-Chem liquid embroidery, and her favorite, Avon 
beauty products. Thursday night bingo, a regular card game of pitch or 
pinochle, and an occasional trip to the casino were great enjoyments for
 Bonnie. Often, Bud and Bonnie could be seen at local polka dances.


Bonnie was an active member of Altar societies at both Immaculate 
Conception parish in Grinnell and St. Paul’s parish in Angelus. She was a
 Daughter of Isabella at St. Paul’s Church in Angelus also.


Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bud; sons, Ron and his wife Linda, of
 Grinnell, KS, Father John, of Denver, CO and Mark, of Ventura, CA; her 
sister Mary Heim Niblock and her husband Don, of Hoxie, KS; brothers, 
Joe and his wife Sharron, of Indianapolis, IN, Bill and his wife Grace, 
of San Diego, CA, Don, of Phoenix, AZ and Gerald and his wife Helen, of 
Hoxie; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Ribardo, of Bryan, TX, Brenda, of

 </figure>Bonita “Bonnie” Catherine (Heim) Lager died on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie.
Bonnie was born on July 8, 1929, at the Hays hospital to Bill and Marie 
(Mannebach) Heim. The family lived in Leoville, KS and it was there that
 she met her husband, Alfred “Bud” at a local dance. Bud and Bonnie 
married on August 23, 1950. Together, they were dairy farmers, living 
north of Grinnell before moving into Grinnell in 1997.
Bonnie was an avid collector of glassware. She also loved to meet and 
talk with people, so she took up selling Beeline clothing, Bestline 
cleaning products, Tri-Chem liquid embroidery, and her favorite, Avon 
beauty products. Thursday night bingo, a regular card game of pitch or 
pinochle, and an occasional trip to the casino were great enjoyments for
 Bonnie. Often, Bud and Bonnie could be seen at local polka dances.
Bonnie was an active member of Altar societies at both Immaculate 
Conception parish in Grinnell and St. Paul’s parish in Angelus. She was a
 Daughter of Isabella at St. Paul’s Church in Angelus also.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bud; sons, Ron and his wife Linda, of
 Grinnell, KS, Father John, of Denver, CO and Mark, of Ventura, CA; her 
sister Mary Heim Niblock and her husband Don, of Hoxie, KS; brothers, 
Joe and his wife Sharron, of Indianapolis, IN, Bill and his wife Grace, 
of San Diego, CA, Don, of Phoenix, AZ and Gerald and his wife Helen, of 
Hoxie; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Ribardo, of Bryan, TX, Brenda, of 
Hays, KS, Nate (Kelly, of Wichita, KS, Father Brian, of Hays, KS, Kevin
 (Melanie, of Seguin, KS, Marty (Abbie, of Colby, KS, and Austin, of 
Atchison, KS, and 15 great grandchildren.

Bonita C. Lager (Heim

Margaret Rosamary Sheets, age 92, went to be with her Lord &amp; Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 8, 2020.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Rosamary was born July 23, 1927 in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Herb J. &amp; Eula May (Sipple) Barr.  She was a 1945 graduate of Wichita County High School in Leoti, Kansas and later from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, then attending Kansas State University.

She married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Sheets on February 12, 1950 in Leoti, Kansas.  They were blessed with seventy wonderful years of marriage.  They have four children, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Rosamary &amp; Dick began their life together in Westcliffe, Colorado, which was always dear to their hearts.  They moved to Leoti, Kansas in 1951. 

Rosamary was a member of Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, Kansas.

Rosamary enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bridge, and being outdoors.  She especially loved spending time with her family.

Rosamary is survived by her beloved husband, Dick Sheets of Lakin, Kansas; four children including Scott Sheets and his wife Vicki of Brewster, Kansas, Becky Miller and her husband Richard of Leoti, Kansas, Peggy Wolken &amp; her husband Dan of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Ted Sheets &amp; his wife Brenda of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Grandchildren – Sondra Brown, Beau Sheets, Tad Sheets, Drew Miller, Lindsey Miller, Jessica Wolken, Spenser Wolken, Colton Sheets, and Lucas Sheets.

Great grandchildren- Jalee, Macee &amp; Blaine Brown; Kamdyn, Ty, Clay, Kynnedy &amp; Karsyn Sheets; Emma, Kate, Luke &amp; James Miller and a brother- Ken Barr of Denver, Colorado as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Her parents, and two brothers Jack Barr &amp; Bill Barr precede her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 202 at Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, Kansas with Pastor Stephen Morefield officiating.  Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery.

Ruth Zbinden, daughter of Edwin and Mildred (Hagler) Zimmerman, was born January 17, 1938, in Bond County, Illinois, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on March 7, 2020, at the age of 82.

Ruth grew up in Illinois, and graduated from Pocahontas High School.  On June 23, 1956, Ruth and David Zbinden were united in marriage in Illinois.  They lived in Highland, Illinois, until 1973, when they moved to eastern Colorado, and then Ft. Collins in 1977.  While in Colorado, she worked in the health industry as a home health aide and as a scheduling supervisor in a nursing home.  In 2002, they moved to Stamford, Nebraska, where she served as a cook in the Southern Valley schools until her retirement.

Ruth enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and spending time at garage sales on weekends.

Survivors include:  her loving husband, David, Norton; her daughter, Denise Zbinden and significant other, Dr. Mark Klein, Norton; one brother, Clarence Zimmerman, Greenville, Illinois; two sisters, Ruby Jorgenson, Edwardsville, Illinois; Mary Boufford, Janesville, Wisconsin; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Cristal R. Youtsey, 58, passed away March 9, 2020 at Diversicare of Larned.

She was born August 29, 1961 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Ray and Deanna Close Youtsey.

A longtime area resident, she worked for QS Nursing as an LPN. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include: two daughters, Shanna Bowen, Larned, Emily Bowen, 
Kanopolis; son Sean Bowen, Larned; sister, Elizabeth Close, Missouri; 
brother, Jeff Youtsey, Reno Nevada; and seven grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Joyce was born on December 7, 1943.&nbsp; She grew up in Yonkers, New York.&nbsp; She moved to the Waldo, Kansas area in 1973.

Joyce was united in marriage to John Allen Scott on December 14, 1973 in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; They made their home in Bunker Hill.

Joyce has been a waitress most of her life.&nbsp; She worked over 35 years at the Bunker Hill Café and also worked many years with the Ramada Inn in Russell.&nbsp; She was an active member and Board member of the Assembly of God, Calvary Chapel in Russell.&nbsp; In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, croqueting items for family and friends and helping children in the foster child program.&nbsp; She loved spending time and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joyce’s surviving family include her two sons, George Moresco (Amy) of Russell, Kansas and Michael Moresco of Salina, Kansas; two step sons, Ron Scott of Bunker Hill, Kansas and Jim Scott of Susank, Kansas; two step daughters, Janet Stafford (Tom) of Wisconsin and Devery Brafford of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Tom Buzzell of Wichita, Kansas; sister, JoAnn Trapanese of Lake Placid, New York; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and nephew, Tom Buzzell, Jr. of Waldo, Kansas.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Helen.

Marvin Gene Pinkston, 87, died on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Legend at 
Regent Park in Wichita.  He was born on June 22, 1932 at Healy the son 
of Lawson Harry &amp; Clara Mae (Schwindt) Pinkston.  He married Wanda 
Jean Foshee on September 19, 1953 at San Francisco, California.


Marvin went to early school in Healy and graduated from Dighton High 
School in 1950.  He served in the United States Marine Corp and after 
his discharge he returned to the family farm near Dighton and was a 
lifelong Farmer-Stockman.  He was active in the Dighton community by 
serving on the soil conservation board, Dighton Housing Authority Board,
 Dighton Recreation Commission Board, County Director for Kansas 
Livestock Association and spent many years on the American Legion Post #
 190 funeral honor guard.  He was a huge sports fan and was a fixture on
 the chains for Dighton High School football, watched every Kansas City 
Royals game and every KU Basketball game.  He attended the Big 8, later 
the Big 12 Basketball Tournament in Kansas City for many years.  He 
loved to fish and hunt and for many years led pheasant hunts on his 
farm.  He especially enjoyed checking on his cattle at the area 
feedyards.  


He was preceded in death by his Parents and  Sister- Juanita Overfield 


He is survived by his Wife- Wanda Pinkston, 2 Daughters- Sherrie 
(Larren) Dennis of Eureka, Terri (Steve) Kingsley of Sedgwick, Son- Gary
 (LaRae) Pinkston of Mitchellville, Iowa, Sister- Bonnie (Larry) Evans 
of Gove,  8 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.


Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at the United Methodist 
Church in Dighton with Rev Berniece Ludlum officiating.  Burial will be 
in Dighton Memorial Cemetery with military honors by United States 
Marine Corp Honor Guard and American Legion Post # 190 Honor Guard.

Raymond Lynn (Ray) Tubach, 69, passed away on February 25, 2020, at 
his home in Larned, Kansas. He was born January 25, 1951, in Glasco, 
Kansas, the son of August and Nellie (Rogers) Tubach.

Ray graduated from Glasco Rural High School in 1970 and later from 
Wichita State University with a degree in Administrative Justice. He 
served in the U.S. Army, where he achieved a rank of SP5, and he was a 
Vietnam veteran. Ray spent most of his professional life as a mental 
health developmental disabilities technician at Larned State Hospital 
and retired from there in September 2011.

Ray enjoyed visiting family and returning to Glasco for high school reunions; this year would have been his 50th
 reunion. He had a strong interest in current events and spent 
considerable time in the library reading news. He delighted in 
discussions about politics and other topics.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: his 
brothers, Lemoine (Lee)and Clyde Tubach, and his sisters, Elaine Dunlap 
and Cora O’Rourke. He is survived by his sister, Freda Saiger of Topeka,
 Kansas; brother-in-law, Joe O’Rourke of Iola, Kansas; sister-in-law, 
Mary Jo Tubach of Emporia, Kansas; and nephews and nieces.

his home in Larned, Kansas. He was born January 25, 1951, in Glasco, 
Kansas, the son of August and Nellie (Rogers) Tubach.Ray graduated from Glasco Rural High School in 1970 and later from 
Wichita State University with a degree in Administrative Justice. He 
served in the U.S. Army, where he achieved a rank of SP5, and he was a 
Vietnam veteran. Ray spent most of his professional life as a mental 
health developmental disabilities technician at Larned State Hospital 
and retired from there in September 2011.Ray enjoyed visiting family and returning to Glasco for high school reunions; this year would have been his 50th
 reunion. He had a strong interest in current events and spent 
considerable time in the library reading news. He delighted in 
discussions about politics and other topics.He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: his 
brothers, Lemoine (Lee)and Clyde Tubach, and his sisters, Elaine Dunlap 
and Cora O’Rourke. He is survived by his sister, Freda Saiger of Topeka,
 Kansas; brother-in-law, Joe O’Rourke of Iola, Kansas; sister-in-law, 
Mary Jo Tubach of Emporia, Kansas; and nephews and nieces.Ray was cremated and will be interred in the Glasco Cemetery. A

John Delevan "Del" Bauer, 70, of Hutchinson, died March 2, 2020, at 
Robert Dole Veterans Hospital, Wichita. He was born November 29, 1949, 
in Ransom, to John and Josephine (Schwartzkopf) Bauer.

John graduated from Ransom High School in 1967. He was a master of 
many trades, including: plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, mechanics, and 
farming. John was a member of Communities That Care, Watch D.O.G.S., VFW
 Post #1361, and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.

On March 11, 1972, he married Patricia McMillan, in Dodge City. They 
shared 43 years together before she passed on March 14, 2015.

John is survived by: son, James Sharp, Ness City; daughters, Barbara 
Clark (Raymond, Cimarron, Victoria Bauer and Kathrine Baker (Logan, 
both of Hutchinson; sisters, Lynetta Skaggs, Sylvia Bauer, Judy Lee, 
Linda Ummel, Ruth Bauer, Juanita Ottley, and Beatrice Bauer; brothers, 
Mark Bauer and Jacob Bauer; grandchildren, Breckon (Kelly) Bauer, 
Brianna Hayes, Brooklyn Hayes, Johnathan Bauer, Nevaeh Baker, Clayton 
Baker, and Isabella Baker; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Bauer, Drew 
Bauer, Alexiz Jaso, and Adrian Hayes.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Patricia Bauer; infant daughter, Lisa Sharp; and sister, Carole Wolfe.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will take place at 
Wertz Street Emporium at a later date, to be announced by the family. 
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at
 Elliott Mortuary.

Robert L. “Bob” Stejskal, 72, Russell, Kansas, died Friday, March 6, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.



Bob was born June 28, 1947, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of Lester M. 
and Minnie (Schaffer) Stejskal.  He was a resident of Russell, Kansas, 
for 19 years, moving from La Crosse, Kansas.   A 1966 graduate of La 
Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, he attended Brown Mackie College,
 Salina, Kansas.  Bob worked in the oil industry.  The last 19 years 
before his retirement, he worked for AnswerNet, Hays, Kansas.



He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and Knights Of 
Columbus Council #2970, both of La Crosse, Kansas.  He was a lifetime 
member of VFW Post 3147, La Crosse, Kansas.



He was a veteran of the United States Navy.  Bob was stationed on the 
USS Enterprise, the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.



On March 19, 2012, he married Sue Peterson at Russell, Kansas. 



Survivors include:  his wife, Sue Stejskal, Russell, Kansas; one son, 
Jason Stejskal (fiancée, Rayla Redmon, Hays, Kansas; one step son, Doug
 Peterson (Aimee, Sterling, Kansas; two step daughters, Shannon 
Thornburg (Jeff, Russell, Kansas, and Amy Peterson, Hays, Kansas; one 
grandson, Dylan Stejskal, Hays, Kansas; eight step grandchildren; and 
two step great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



Church visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 9:00 A.M. to 
9:50 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
