Robert Torres, (a.k.a. Cupcake) 49,
of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at his home in Russell.

Robert was born in San Antonio,
Texas, in the backseat of a ‘57 Chevy, on September 01, 1975. He is the son of
Rogelio and Rosalinda (Alvarez) Torres.&nbsp;
He grew up and attended public schools in San Antonio, Texas, and at age
14, he moved to Goodland, Kansas.&nbsp; It was
in Goodland, Kansas, at age 15, he met the love of his life, Deborah Jean
Chapman, and they have been together ever since.&nbsp; From this union, they were blessed with 3
children: Bobby, Seth, and Veronica.&nbsp; In
August 2007, Robert and Debbie made it official and were united in
marriage.&nbsp; The family made their home in
Great Bend, Kansas, until they moved to Russell, Kansas, in 2013.&nbsp; Robert worked in the oil field industry for
many years.&nbsp; In May of 2013, Robert
became the driving force and head tattoo artist of Fantasy Graphics East Tattoo
Studio in Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; As a business
owner, he was known as a kind and friendly person with a gifted and unique
artistic style. He had a heart of gold and was everyone’s biggest supporter. His
family and clients loved his work and often came back over and over again for
new tattoos, because of his skill, professional attention to detail, and
creative artistry.&nbsp; He enjoyed his tattoo
work, music, motorcycles, Harley-Davidson, UFC Fights, Dallas Cowboys football,
and his dogs.&nbsp; Most of all, he enjoyed
hanging out with his family and friends and his granddaughter “Chunks”, his
most precious angel. 

Surviving family include his wife
Debbie of the home, son Bobby Torres; son Seth Torres and fiancé Callie Camp of
Hays, Kansas and daughter Veronica Torres of Great Bend, Kansas; sisters Norma
Alvarez of Roswell, New Mexico, Corina Flores, Sandra Camacho and Barbara
Fabela all of San Antonio, Texas and granddaughter Adelynn “Chunks” Torres.

He was preceded in death by his
father, Rogelio Torres, and brother, Roger Torres. 

A gather service for viewing and
visitation will be held from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Friday, May 02, 2025, at the
Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; The family will greet guests from 6 P.M. to 8
P.M., May 2nd Friday evening.&nbsp;
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irwin 'Huck' Smith, who passed away April 26, 2025. He was born in Graham
County, Kansas,&nbsp; where he resided for most of his life. 

He is survived by
his wife Shirley, daughters: Troy Kennington (Randy) of Texarkana, Arkansas,
Sandy Morris (Jeff) of Denver, Colorado, Teri Auck (Gus) of Texarkana,
Arkansas, and son Dwayne “Bud” of Norton; along with seven grandchildren, 19
great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren. 

He was
preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Lee, brother Galen, sister Devera,
daughter Jolene, and sons Tim and Jerry.


Huck was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1949-1952 serving
in the Korean War as an airplane mechanic, stationed in Puerto Rico. He also
served in the Army National Guard Reserve until 1958.
Huck was always busy helping a friend or making something amazing in his
woodworking trailer. He loved to read historical fiction and Louis L'Amour
novels, fish with his wife, hunt, watch westerns, and garden. Most of all, he
cherished his family.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, at
Stinemetz Funeral Home, 522 N. Pomeroy, Hill City, Kansas at 2:30 p.m. A
luncheon will be held at the Graham County Involvement Center, 700 West Main,
Hill City, Kansas following the service.&nbsp;

Kathy Ann 'Peaches' Keller, 76, of
Russell, Kansas and former Kansas City, Kansas, resident died on Thursday,
April 17, 2025, at her home.

Kathy was born on March 11, 1949,
in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Henry Louise and Loretta June (Zimmer)
Keller.&nbsp; She grew up in Kansas City,
Kansas, most all her life and moved to Hays, Kansas, in 2016 and moved to
Russell, Kansas, in October 2024.&nbsp; She
was a free spirit that enjoyed coloring in her coloring books, reading
catalogs, long car rides, stuffed animals, her purse, collecting bracelets and
spending time with children.&nbsp; She most of
all enjoyed having fun and adventures with her close family and friends.

Her surviving family includes her
nieces Melissa Chlumsky and Kristina Keller both of Russell, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her
parents and two brothers David C. and Michael P. Keller.

Cremation was selected by the
family and will have a graveside service at a later date at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kathy Ann 'Peaches' Keller

Mary Ann Froelich, 90, of Gorham,
Kansas, died on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Main Street Manor in Russell,
Kansas.

Mary Ann was born on May 17, 1934,
in Ransom, Kansas, the daughter of Herbert J. and Dorothy M. (Christy) Whitney.
She grew up in Utica, Kansas, and graduated from Utica High School in 1952. She
met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Morris J. Froelich in Lawrence,
Kansas, on November 14, 1952. From this union, Mary Ann and Morris were blessed
with two children, Morris Alan and Shelley. Mary Ann continued her education by
attending Fort. Hays State University, graduating with her bachelor's degree in
Elementary Education in 1972 and her master’s degree in 1982. The Froelich
family made their home in Gorham, Kansas, where Mary Ann taught at Gorham Grade
School for 25 years. Mary Ann was the organist for over 50 years at the Gorham
Community Church where she and Morris were longtime members.

Mary Ann enjoyed music, crafting,
reading, playing the piano and church organ, genealogy, collecting knick knacks
and spending countless hours enjoying time with her family, especially her
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her son,
Morris Alan Froelich (Marie) of Hays, Kansas; daughter, Shelley Oden (Bruce) of
Russell, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Jill Russell (Bill); Walter Oden, Jr. (Angel
Roe); Pamela Oden (Mike Slater); and Jaimie Oden; one granddaughter-in-law,
Savanna Froelich; 7 great grandchildren, Kaeleah Russell; Brynn Russell;
Severin Oden; Marissa Strickland (William); Afton Froelich; Joselin Froelich;
and Victoria Froelich.

She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband Morris on August 08, 2021; 3 sisters, Vickie Whitney, Sandy
Gaona and Lynette Russell; one grandson, Clint Froelich and 2 infant great
grandchildren, Talon and Piper Froelich.

Cremation has been selected by the
family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 10,

Mary Ann Froelich

Jeanne A. Conner, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend,
passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Trego County Lemke
Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, Kansas. She was 93 years old.

Born May 25, 1931, in WaKeeney to Raymond E. and Eva M. (Walker)
Custer, Jeanne was a graduate of Trego High School’s Class of 1949. She pursued
higher education at The College of Emporia and Fort Hays State College,
ultimately earning her degree from Kansas State University in 1953.

Jeanne’s early educational career was spent teaching in
Oberlin and Page City, Kansas. On June 13, 1954, she married Warren R. Conner
in her hometown and spent the majority of her life in the communities of
Ashland and WaKeeney.

Deeply involved in civic and church life, Jeanne was a
member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the WaKeeney Presbyterian Church and
Presbyterian Women, the Trego County Historical Society, and, as a 66-year
member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Jeanne believed strongly in fostering
education and opportunity for women. She was also a member of the Tri Sig
Sorority.

Jeanne’s quick wit, love for K-State basketball, and
devotion to her family were hallmarks of her character. She leaves a legacy of
love and laughter to her four children: Christin Conner of Mabank, Texas; Reed
Conner (Denise) of Great Bend, Kansas; Kim Randles (Allen) of Sublette, Kansas;
and David Conner (Christina) of Muskogee, Oklahoma; as well as two
grandchildren, Jordan Randles and Macy Tatman; and four great-grandchildren,
Maci, Marley, Brinleigh, and Kason.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, on May 19,
2010, and her parents.

A memorial service celebrating Jeanne’s life will be held at
10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, at the Presbyterian Church of WaKeeney, 332 N 6th
Street, with interment following at WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Jeanne A. Conner

&nbsp;H. Dean Danielson, the
son of Frank Andrew Danielson and L. Lucille (Kelly) Danielson, was born
February 28, 1936, in rural Republic County near Talmo, Kansas. He passed away
on April 27, 2025, in Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 89.

Dean grew up on the family farm north of Talmo, Kansas, attending the Talmo,
Prairie Grove, and Grant grade schools. He graduated from Belleville High
School in 1955.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

In 1954, he entered the Army National Guard, where he served for
8 ½ years, including one-year active duty stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso,
Texas, and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class.&nbsp; &nbsp;

In 1958, Dean began working at Alsop Sand Company and later at
Abram Ready- Mix in Belleville, where he was employed for nearly 50 years until
his retirement in 2005.

On May 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to Darlene Dowell and to this union
one daughter, Denise was born.&nbsp;&nbsp; The couple made their home in
Belleville, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dean enjoyed gardening, watching KU Jayhawks basketball and the New York
Yankees, and keeping detailed stats for their games. He also loved spending
time with friends at coffee.

&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille Danielson; his wife,
Darlene in 2022, and his brother Don Danielson.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Denise Danielson of Hays, Kansas; cousins,
other relatives; friends, and his beloved cat, Spotty.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the
Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with Pastor Phil Goombi,
officiating.

Jackie Dean Singleton, age 86, of Hays, Kansas, passed away
peacefully at home on April 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on September 3, 1938, in Russell, Kansas, to Lloyd and Maxine
Singleton, Jack grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for
family and community. He attended Chase High School in Chase, Kansas, where he
was a standout athlete and made lifelong friends.

Jack spent much of his career working in the oil patch for Tenneco
Oil, a job that suited his hands-on spirit and no-nonsense attitude. Outside of
work, he had a passion for old cars, enjoyed fishing whenever he had the
chance, and treasured time spent with his family and friends. He was always up
for a good laugh—and never turned down a cold beer with good company.

Jack is survived by his five children: Micheal (Brenda) Law of
Pleasantville, WI; Robert (JoAnn) Law of Brownsdale, MN; Diana Klecker of Owen,
WI; Lori Kinny of Austin, MN; and Janet Singleton of Wichita, KS. He was a
proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Kenny (Pat)
Singleton and Dennis (Ann) Singleton, and his sister Brenda (Kenny)
Nightingale-Gomez, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Maxine; his
sisters Eileen and Sherry; one niece; and two nephews.

Jack's family will remember him for his quick wit, his kind heart,
and his unwavering loyalty. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations
be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral
chapel.

Cremation under the direction of Keithley Funeral Homes and
Crematory - Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Street Hays, Kansas 67601. Services will

Barbara Jean (Hufft) Reinhardt
died of an apparent heart failure October 4, 2024, at the age of 91 at her home
in Sun City, Arizona.&nbsp; She was born
September 09, 1933 in Sleeper, Missouri to James W. Hufft and Opal Webster
Hufft.&nbsp; She attended schools in Missouri,
Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and Washington due to her family traveling for work,
eventually settling in Ellinwood, Kansas.&nbsp;
She had a love of singing and playing the violin, and after graduating
from Ellinwood High school in 1951 she chose to forgo a music scholarship and
instead married Raymond J. Spacil.&nbsp; They
lived on a farm near Ellinwood and were blessed with 3 children.&nbsp; After 20 years the marriage ended.&nbsp; She worked a number of years for a local
orthodontist in Great Bend.&nbsp; She married
Eugene M. Reinhardt of Russell, Kansas on June 30, 1972, adding 2
step-daughters to her family: Cynthia and Kim.&nbsp;


She worked with Gene to expand his
oil well testing business in Russell (Reinhardt Services) operating additional
offices in Oberlin and Plainville, Kansas and in Casper, Wyoming.&nbsp; They enjoyed traveling throughout the USA in
their RV.&nbsp; They were avid dancers
throughout their time together.&nbsp; Upon
retirement, they moved to Sun City, Arizona where Gene played golf year-round.&nbsp; Barbara was very active in the Palmbrook Golf
Club Association and enjoyed playing cards (hand and foot) with friends
there.&nbsp; Upon their move to the Royal Oaks
Lifecare Community she became active in committees there.&nbsp; After Gene's passing, she continued to enjoy
traveling and made multiple trips to Europe with friends.&nbsp; She became wholeheartedly involved with
another card playing group and loved their weekly games and social time with
her many friends.&nbsp; She frequently
traveled to Arkansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas and Utah to visit her family,
whom she greatly enjoyed spending time with.&nbsp;


Barbara was preceded in death by
her parents and her husbands.&nbsp; She is
survived by her 3 children: Steven Spacil and wife Cathleen (Clinton, Utah),
Michael Spacil, Melanie Rehmert and husband Tony (Rogers, Arkansas);
step-daughters Cynthia Bolinger and husband David (Warsaw, Missouri), Kim
Rumburg and husband Larry (Cypress, Texas); sister Jan Kowalsky-Mays (Tulsa,
Oklahoma) and half-sister Dayna Hufft-Gibson (Buffalo, Missouri), 9
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

The family chose cremation, and a
graveside memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, May 09, 2025, at
the Russell City Cemetery in Russell, Kansas, with Pastor Brenda Rodger
officiating.&nbsp; The family will greet
guests on the day of the service at the graveside.&nbsp; Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell,
Kansas is helping the family with the services.

Annabel Louise (Dreiling) Suppes age
79 of Windsor, Colorado, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of
January 7, 2025, &nbsp;after a courageous lifelong battle with diabetes.

Annabel was born
on May 18, 1945, in Hays, Kansas, to Robert and Ann Marie (Sullivan) Dreiling,
who now welcome her into eternal rest. She is also reunited with her beloved
husband, Duane Suppes, and a cherished grandson Nicholas. 

Despite the
challenges she faced throughout her life, Annabel’s resilience and strength
were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Annabel found
happiness in the simple pleasures of life, including spending time with her
loved ones, her loyal companion Ebby, and relaxing with her favorite Hallmark
movies. Her warmth, love, and laughter filled every room she entered, leaving
behind a legacy of kindness and unconditional love.

She is survived
by her five devoted children: Teresa; Cathy; Chris; Chery; and Melissa; her ten
grandchildren, Ashley; Timmy; Andy; Anna; Ally; Cassie; Cameron; Quin; Crew;
and Adysen; her ten great grandchildren who were her greatest joy and source of
pride; her brothers, Robert Dreiling and wife, Mary; Mike Dreiling and wife,
Pauline; her sister-in-law, Janice Dreiling.

Anabel was
preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Marie; her husband, Duane; her

Dolores P. Petz, age 95, of McCracken, Kansas passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at
Via Christi Village, Hays. She was born on March 12, 1930, in Ellinwood, Kansas
to Anton and Barbara (Auburger) Kowalsky. Dolores graduated from the Catholic
High School in Ellinwood. On October 16, 1947, she married Donald J. Petz. He
preceded her in death on June 15, 1984.



Dolores was a homemaker and a farmer along with Donald She continued farming
after Donald’s death in 1984 retiring in 1996 when their son, Danny took over
the farming operations. Dolores was artistic in nature particularly landscape
oil paintings. Her painting was a way for her to pass the time while she was
caring for Donald. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Altar
society both in McCracken. She also attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Ellis. Family was especially important to Dolores and keeping her family
together was always a priority for her.



She is survived by her sons, Chris Petz and wife Jackie Kennedy of McCracken
and Darrell Petz and wife Cynthia of Andover, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Terri
Everhart and husband James, Kelly Petz and wife Melanie, Angie Timson and
husband Trent, Troy Petz, Melissa Leiker and husband Chad, Chansler Petz and
wife Kaylyn, Chelsea Wells and husband Kurt, Dustin Petz and wife Shelly and
Shanda Preston and husband Shane; 27 grandchildren; 2 great-great
grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Madeline, Patricia, and Joy as well as a
son-in law, Harold.



Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Gene, Danny,
Tim, and Kirby; daughter, Sherry Witthuhn and a grandson, Eric Petz.


Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in McCracken, Kansas. Burial will follow in the McCracken

Kathleen
O. Fischer, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the Rooks
County Health Center in Plainville, at the age of 80. She was born on December
31, 1944, to Timothy and Mildred (Write) Fischer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. &nbsp;She was married to Timothy S. Boyd. 

Kathleen
grew up in Plainville and Hays, Kansas and graduated from High School in 1962. A
proud and adventurous spirit, Kathleen served in the Army, where she drove a
deuce and a half — a role she took great pride in. She was an E4 at Fort Riley,
home of the Big Red One.&nbsp; Later in life,
she also earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of
Kansas. She pursued her passion for beauty and style by attending cosmetology
school. She worked in salons for many years and was known for her warm personality
and talent behind the chair. 

She
was also a dedicated member of the Merci Box Car organization in Hays, honoring
her deep appreciation for history and service.

Kathleen
was a woman of many interests and passions. She loved motorcycles and trains,
and her heart was always open to animals of all kinds. Her love for
hairdressing never waned, even after retirement, and she cherished the
friendships she made throughout her life. Whether she was striking up a
conversation with a stranger or caring for a furry companion, Kathleen brought
warmth and joy wherever she went. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and
loved her.

Kathleen
is survived by her beloved husband, Timothy Boyd of Plainville; and niece,
Michelle Fife of Amarillo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, and
brothers, James “Jimmy” Fischer and Robert “Robby” Fischer.&nbsp; 

A
funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 1PM with a
visitation time noon until service time, at First Baptist Church in Plainville.
Burial will follow at the Plainville Cemetery.

Thurlene Jean (Larkins)
Ruggels, of Russell, KS, was born August 23, 1931, in Republic KS to Clifford
H. and Evelyn (Neil) Larkins.&nbsp; She went to her heavenly home on March 25,
2025, after a brave battle with cancer.

Most of Thurlene’s early life
was spent in Burr Oak, KS with her siblings, Beverly and Ronald and parents.
Midway through high school she moved in with her mother’s brother and wife, Lee
and Helen Neil, of Courtland, KS where she graduated from high school.&nbsp;
Her love of music led her to Bethany College where she studied for two years
before accepting a teaching position in Natoma, KS with plans to save
sufficient funds to return to Bethany.&nbsp; The trajectory of Miss Larkins’
future was altered when local bachelor, Paul Ruggels, espied the new teacher
from his seat in the Methodist Church Choir.&nbsp; The couple married on June
22, 1952, and were the parents of four children: Paula, Thomas, Pamela and
Vance.&nbsp; Paul preceded her in death on May 16, 2000.&nbsp; 

Thurlene enjoyed a full and
fruitful life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
friend, teacher, restauranteur and banker.&nbsp;&nbsp; After her marriage, she
received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fort Hays State College and
also received a post-secondary degree from the Graduate School of Banking at
the University of Wisconsin-Madison.&nbsp; Under her leadership as CEO of what
is now Southwind Bank, operations were expanded to include an office in
Russell, KS.&nbsp; Thurlene served many years as President of the Bank and
Chairman of the Board. 

Mrs. Ruggels was also active
in many organizations and committees.&nbsp; As a member of St. John Lutheran
Church, she delighted in sharing her musical talents in the bell choir and as
pianist for Saturday evening services.&nbsp; At age 93, Thurlene was still
reading books, watching Royals and Chiefs games, and hosting family
celebrations.&nbsp; One of her life’s passions was time spent playing bridge,
and even at 93 years old she took great pleasure in getting high score at
bridge club.&nbsp; She could recite all 105 Kansas counties alphabetically and
was especially proud that her great grandmother was a flag bearer at one of the
Lincoln/Douglas debates.

Meticulous in all her
dealings, she often shared her guiding proverb with her grandchildren.&nbsp;
“Be the labor great or small, do it right or not at all.”

Thurlene is survived by her
sister, Beverly Siegel of Bremerton, WA, children Paula Hachmeister of Russell,
Tom (Lissa) Ruggels of Steilacoom, WA, Pam (Steve) Eickhoff of Raymore, MO, and
Vance (Stephani) Ruggels of Russell as well as eleven grandchildren, twelve
great grandchildren, and a host of friends.&nbsp; 

Cremation has been selected
by the family.&nbsp; A celebration of Thurlene’s life will be held at 11 A.M.
on Friday, May 02, 2025, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Russell,
Kansas.&nbsp; The graveside service will be held later that day at 2 P.M. at the
Natoma City Cemetery in Natoma, Kansas.&nbsp; The family will greet guests on
the day of the service at the church.&nbsp; Memorials may be given to the Paul
&amp; Thurlene Ruggels Memorial Fund R.C.A.C.F. and sent in care of the

Larry Gene Stejskal, 89, Timken, Kansas, passed away Thursday,
April 24, 2025, at Aster Estates, Great Bend, Kansas.

Larry was born August
11, 1935, in Timken, Kansas, the son of Louis and Tona (Oborny) Stejskal.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of Rush
County.&nbsp; He was a farmer before his
retirement.

He was a member of Holy
Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas, where he served on the parish council
and was a former president of the same.&nbsp;
He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council
#2100, Olmitz, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a member
of KD Workman, and a former member of the Mid-State Farmer’s Co-Op Board, the
Timken Credit Union Board and Rush County Fire District #2, all of Timken,
Kansas.&nbsp; Larry was recognized as the
Farmer of the Year by Young Kansas Farmer.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;


Larry loved to bowl
and was a member of a bowling team for many years.&nbsp; He and his wife, Betty, enjoyed being members
of a card playing club, playing both pitch and pinochle.&nbsp; Their fondness of playing cards was something
they shared with their children and grandchildren, who still enjoy a friendly
game of cards when the family gathers.&nbsp;
Many a New Year’s Day was spent “winching” with family and friends.

On August 18, 1955,
he married Betty L. Weichen at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse,
Kansas. 

Survivors
include:&nbsp; his wife, Betty Stejskal,
Timken, Kansas; two sons, Rick Stejskal (Nette), Wilmington, Delaware, and
Brian Stejskal (Kim), Bison, Kansas; three daughters, Roxane Orr (Kevin),
Chanute, Kansas, Ginger Dodin (Bill), Junction City, Kansas, and Karen Mitchell
(Mike), Ellinwood, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Wasson (Chad), Joe
Vondracek (Shane), Cynthia Wimberly (Kevin), Chris Stejskal, Amanda Stejskal,
James Dodin (Gelia), Nicole Stejskal, and Zach Stejskal (Taylor); and 13 great
grandchildren.

He was preceded in
death by his parents; three brothers, Edward Stejskal, Leonard Stejskal, and
Rudy Stejskal; an infant sister, Blanch Stejskal; and five sisters, Anna
Hamrdla, Betty Richardson, Elsie McGrath, Eleanor Snellen, &nbsp;and Irene Lou Laqua.

Visitation will be Tuesday,
April 29, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken,
Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. &nbsp;A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00
P.M.&nbsp;

Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas.

Dolores
Marie (Romme) Schmeidler, age 91, of Catharine, Kansas, passed away surrounded
by her family on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Via Christi Assisted Living Center
in Hays, Kansas.

&nbsp;She was born February 12, 1934, at Victoria, Kansas, to Raymond and Magdalena
(dKuhn) Romme.&nbsp; She married Lawrence Schmeidler on October 12, 1954, at
Victoria, Kansas.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on October 4, 2020.

Dolores was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker. She enjoyed&nbsp; cooking, reading, word&nbsp;searches, and praying.  She was a member of Saint Catherine Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She grew up on the family farm northwest of Victoria and attended Victoria Grade School and High School.  She left her freshman year to take care of her mom and her younger brothers. She worked as a nurse's aide at the old St. Anthony’s Hospital before she got married.

Dolores is survived by her children: Diane Schmeidler, Hays, KS; Joyce
Schumacher and husband, Jerry, Salina, KS; Jonathan Schmeidler and wife, Kim,
Hays, KS; &nbsp;grandchildren, Maggie Carey (Chris); Sarah Anglemyer (Corey);
Jacob Schmeidler and significant other, Tessa Beeman; Grace Schmeidler and
Faith Schmeidler; &nbsp;great grandchildren, Natalia Carey; Madeleine Carey;
Levi Anglemyer; Noah Anglemyer; her sisters-in-law, Jolene Romme, Lawrence, KS;
Lillian Fisher, Hays, KS; Anna Marie Lessor and husband, Laverne, Great Bend,

Dolores Marie (Romme) Schmeidler

Pauline
Randolph, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, joined the love of
her life Wayne Randolph in heaven on April 21, 2025, passing away in her sleep
at Lincoln Community Care Center in Hugo, Colorado. Born on March 7, 1930,
the
oldest child of Richard F. and Magdaline (Kreutzer) Brungardt, she grew up on a
farm south of Hoxie with her siblings Almetha, Marcella, Paul, Marvin, Viola,
Imogene, Mary, Leo, and Thelma.

After
graduating from Monument High School in Monument, Kansas, Pauline attended Fort
Hays State University for a year. Pauline spent time as a teacher (for a year),
a doctor’s receptionist, a high school cafeteria cook, and a baby sitter.&nbsp;

On
September 18, 1950, Pauline married Robert Wayne Randolph in Grainfield,
Kansas. Together they raised four children, Richard, Robert, Dianna, and
Cynthia in Hoxie and nurtured and loved eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren,
and four great-great-grandchildren. A woman of many interests she loved to bake
(those M&amp;M oatmeal cookies were to die for) along with crocheting and doing
needlepoint. She loved polka dancing and dancing in general so much that she
told Wayne when they were dating “if you want to be my boyfriend, you have to
learn to dance.” So, he did, and they did— dance for the joy of it whenever the
spirit moved them even on Sunday mornings.

Pauline
(Polly to her friends and family) was known for being a good friend and
coworker, her generous and kind heart, her infectious laugh, being the straight
“man” for Wayne’s sense of humor, and being a very lenient grandmother to her
eight grandchildren (oh, the shenanigans that went on in the basement of her
home on Noble Street). Pauline and Wayne loved hosting and attending family
reunions. Family was extremely important to her.&nbsp;

Pauline
is survived by siblings Almetha Mendenhall, Imogene Thomas, and Mary Smith; her
children Richard (Yvonne) Randolph of Surprise, AZ, Robert (Linda) Randolph of
Hoxie, Cynthia (Jeff) Myers of Eads, and son-in-law Mike Matthews of Hoxie; her
grandchildren Stacie Taylor, Shelley (Warren) Johnson, Ryan (Hanna) Randolph,
Kelsey (Greg) Havran, Matthew (Sarah) Randolph, Christopher (Kathryn) Matthews,
Candace Myers, and Adam Myers; 19 great grandchildren Josh (Ashli), Cayle
(Jill), Peyton (Macy), Alexis (Danny), Macey, Gabriel, Chloe, Haven, Matthias,
Jayden, Riley, Joe, Cambria, Caler, Emmylia, Linus Wayne, Hayden, Theodore, and
Oliver; and 4 great great grandchildren Kadence, Harper, Jaxon, and Kendall.

Pauline
is now reunited in heaven with her parents, her husband Wayne, her daughter

Randolph, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, joined the love of
her life Wayne Randolph in heaven on April 21, 2025, passing away in her sleep
at Lincoln Community Care Center in Hugo, Colorado. Born on March 7, 1930,
the
oldest child of Richard F. and Magdaline (Kreutzer) Brungardt, she grew up on a
farm south of Hoxie with her siblings Almetha, Marcella, Paul, Marvin, Viola,
Imogene, Mary, Leo, and Thelma.After
graduating from Monument High School in Monument, Kansas, Pauline attended Fort
Hays State University for a year. Pauline spent time as a teacher (for a year),
a doctor’s receptionist, a high school cafeteria cook, and a baby sitter.&nbsp;On
September 18, 1950, Pauline married Robert Wayne Randolph in Grainfield,
Kansas. Together they raised four children, Richard, Robert, Dianna, and
Cynthia in Hoxie and nurtured and loved eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren,
and four great-great-grandchildren. A woman of many interests she loved to bake
(those M&amp;M oatmeal cookies were to die for) along with crocheting and doing
needlepoint. She loved polka dancing and dancing in general so much that she
told Wayne when they were dating “if you want to be my boyfriend, you have to
learn to dance.” So, he did, and they did— dance for the joy of it whenever the
spirit moved them even on Sunday mornings.Pauline
(Polly to her friends and family) was known for being a good friend and
coworker, her generous and kind heart, her infectious laugh, being the straight
“man” for Wayne’s sense of humor, and being a very lenient grandmother to her
eight grandchildren (oh, the shenanigans that went on in the basement of her
home on Noble Street). Pauline and Wayne loved hosting and attending family
reunions. Family was extremely important to her.&nbsp;Pauline
is survived by siblings Almetha Mendenhall, Imogene Thomas, and Mary Smith; her
children Richard (Yvonne) Randolph of Surprise, AZ, Robert (Linda) Randolph of
Hoxie, Cynthia (Jeff) Myers of Eads, and son-in-law Mike Matthews of Hoxie; her
grandchildren Stacie Taylor, Shelley (Warren) Johnson, Ryan (Hanna) Randolph,
Kelsey (Greg) Havran, Matthew (Sarah) Randolph, Christopher (Kathryn) Matthews,
Candace Myers, and Adam Myers; 19 great grandchildren Josh (Ashli), Cayle
(Jill), Peyton (Macy), Alexis (Danny), Macey, Gabriel, Chloe, Haven, Matthias,
Jayden, Riley, Joe, Cambria, Caler, Emmylia, Linus Wayne, Hayden, Theodore, and
Oliver; and 4 great great grandchildren Kadence, Harper, Jaxon, and Kendall.Pauline

Pauline Randolph

The ultimate hostess has gone Home to plan
gatherings for the angels! Coleen Elaine (Ratliff) Gale, 88, passed away at Mennonite Friendship
Communities, South Hutchinson, Kansas on Palm Sunday morning, April 13th, 2025.
She was born on March 13, 1937, right before her twin brother Kenneth, to Wayne
Ratliff and Pearl (Gutzman) Ratliff, in rural Kensington, Kansas. 

Coleen graduated from Kensington High
School with her beloved class of 1955. She attended the University of South
Dakota, for 2 years, living with her uncle, Wayne Gutzman and his family. That
formed a bond that lasted a lifetime. On November 9, 1957 she married Darrel
Dee Gale at Beulah Church in rural Kensington. Darrel headed to Germany for
service to his country with Coleen joining him shortly thereafter to begin
their 3 year European journey. They created lifelong friends, visited historic
venues and took numerous adventures. In 1959, their daughter, Dee Ann, was born
in Stuttgart, Germany. Darrel’s service took them to San Antonio, Texas where
son, James Darren, arrived in 1961. Later, in 1961, they returned to Darrel’s
family farm where daughter, Dawn Ellen, was added in 1962.

Once the children reached school age,
Coleen worked for Newell Fabric Store, Quanz Flower shop and then 22 years at
Farmers National Bank. In 2005, the couple moved to town where Coleen had
newfound enjoyment in meeting friends for coffee.
Darrel and Coleen were busy travelers on cruises, trips with family and friends
and winter stays in New Braunfels, Texas. They attended each children’s and
then grandchildren’s event that was even remotely reasonable to make. Darrel
passed away in 2010. He was the love of her life, best friend and she missed
him daily. They were faithful members for almost 60 years at Phillipsburg
United Methodist Church . 

Coleen was a special hostess. She loved
her very large family, hosting family gatherings for any holiday she was
available. Coleen joined the local PEO-BE Chapter, once living in town, and
created new, special connections within this sisterhood. She volunteered at the
local elementary school, helped serve summer meals to many of the same kids,
assisted with the Hospital Auxiliary and Gift Shop and sorted and delivered
mail at the Phillipsburg nursing home. Many young people in Phillipsburg will
remember her for her faithful service to keeping score at the softball diamond,
even in her later years. Coleen was the original manager of Phillipsburg
Estates. After relinquishing these duties, she continued to coordinate
decorating the common areas for every holiday. Coleen played Canasta but was at
her best playing bridge. As a young couple, she and Darrel played couple’s
bridge, but she was at her competitive best with her Tuesday group, which
lasted nearly 50 years. Coleen was a talented seamstress. She created
innumerable quilts and had sewn over 50 men’s sport coats. Her cooking skills
were unique and an envy of many. She had a knack for taking any recipe and
modifying it to create memorable tastes and textures.

She
is survived by her daughters Dee Ann (Chris) Showalter and Dawn (Darron) Veh,
Hutchinson, KS and son, Darren (Marsha) Gale of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren
Sara Showalter of San Diego, Ca, Cari (Corey) Torrez of Rush Center, KS, Dr.
Taylor Veh (Lucas Johnson) of St. Louis, MO, Gannon Veh of Las Cruces, NM,
Derek (Celia) Gale of Alexandria, VA and Madeline (Matt) Jackson of Washington,
DC. Great Grandchildren Liam, Alvie and Owen Torrez, Colin and Harper Johnson and

Randy Amrein, age 48 of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away, Friday, April 18, 2025.


He was born August 5, 1976, in Hays, Kansas, to Dean and Cynthia (Weber)
Amrein. Randy graduated from Ellis High School in 1994.



Randy became a licensed electrician through the Union and moved to Fremont in
1996 where he owned and operated his electrician business, RND Services Inc.



Randy was always the life of the party. He would often have a Busch Light in
his hand while laughing and carrying on with family and friends. He was an
active member of the Elkhorn Valley Rifle Club and Outy Obsessions Hunting
Excursions. He loved his time outdoors as an avid hunter as well as his time
golfing. Randy enjoyed playing cornhole and was a member of the War Eagle
Baggers. Most of all Randy was always Dakota’s number one fan cheering him on
while watching him play sports.



Randy is survived by his son, Dakota Amrein of Fremont; father, Dean Amrein of
Ellis, KS; mother, Cynthia Amrein of Omaha, NE; and sister, Wendy Amrein of
Hays, KS.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Elizabeth Amrein and
Bud Weber; and he will be together again with Megan Amrein.

Ellis 

Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM
with a combined parish vigil and rosary at 7:00 PM all at St. Mary's Catholic
Church 703 Monroe, Ellis

Joey was born November
22, 1959, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of Merten Bevitt and Valta (Ochs) Dreher.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of Rush County,
Kansas.&nbsp; A 1978 graduate of La Crosse
High School, La Crosse, Kansas, he was a truck driver for the Rush County
Highway Department for over 40 years.

He was a volunteer
firefighter for Rush County Fire District #3, Rush Center, Kansas.

Joey enjoyed
collecting John Deere toy tractors and loved to socialize.

Survivors
include:&nbsp; one son, Joseph Eller, Luray,
Kansas; his mother, Valta Dreher, Ness City, Kansas; his step mother, Mary
Bevitt, Shawnee, Kansas; three brothers, Scott Bevitt, Shawnee, Kansas, Kevin

Joey Lee Bevitt

Nora Jean Keller
was born April 29,1941 at St. Anthony Hospital in Hays, Kansas to Joseph and
Margaret (Ruder) Wiesner. She was affectionately known as "Jeannie"
by her family. Nora passed peacefully surrounded by her family January 29, 2025
at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas at the age of 83.

One of ten
children, her early childhood was spent between the family farm near Ellis,
Kansas and their family home in town. She attended St. Mary's School graduating
the 8th grade in 1955 and Ellis High School in 1959. Nora worked as a nanny in
Denver, Colorado to pay for her education at the Denver Business College,
graduating with secretarial skills that would last a lifetime.

She returned to
Ellis and married Al Keller on October 22, 1960. They were married for 56 years
and raised three children together.

Nora was
employed as a typist for local doctors, FHSU professors and historians in Ellis
County.

As a young
family they moved to Emmett, Kansas in 1967 and lived in areas that provided
garden space and apple orchards. Growing children and gardens kept her busy as
a homemaker; she loved sewing and canning tomatoes, applesauce and her famous
dill pickles.

In 1969 they
moved to Garden City where they remained.

Nora worked in
the water well industry as a secretary and bookkeeper for Peerless Pump, Inc.
and Minter-Wilson Drilling, Inc. for over 40 years. She also kept books for
Al's oil business, Texas Refinery Corp. Nora was involved in her children's
favorite sport, softball. and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Together they
vacationed in Mexico, Hawaii, and many other parts of the U.S.

She was a member
of St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, where she volunteered in the
rectory office.

Her hobbies
included playing cards and Bingo, crocheting, puzzles, baking, gardening,
pulling weeds and listening to Elvis. She also spent hours playing and singing
with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and supporting their activities.
They were her sunshine.

Nora is survived
by her daughter Connie (Michael) Hoffman of Garden City, KS and sons Mitchell
Keller of Hays, KS and Michael Keller of Garden City, KS.

She was the
proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Audra (Jared) Bogard, Lansing, Kelsi
(Jeremy) Pfannenstiel, Hays. Adam (Misha) Hoffman, Holcomb, Justin (Joy)
Keller, Tokyo, Japan, Jason (Natalie) Keller, Olathe, Michael (Melanie)
Garrison, Garden City and John Snyder, Lawrence. As well as fourteen
great-grandchildren; Laine, Maya, Ethan, Halle, Miden, Ace, Danika, Sabina,
Jace, Jordy, Sloane, Rori, Wyatt, Willow and one on the way.

Her surviving
siblings are Mary Frances Bauer, James (Gwen) Wiesner, Tom Wiesner, Laura Mae
(Bernie) Schoenberger, Bernie (Mary Alice) Wiesner, Gregory Wiesner, and Kathy
Wiesner. and many nieces and nephews.

Nora is preceded
in death by her husband Al who died on July 4, 2016. She is also preceded in

Nora will be
remembered for her quick wit, memorable laugh and resilient strength. Nora's
faith led her to be gentle, kind and forgiving. She looked for good, the
sunshine and beauty, and lived in the moment.

A graveside
service and interment will take place at 12:00 pm April 26, 2025 in Mt. Hope
Cemetery, of Ellis, Kansas.

was born April 29,1941 at St. Anthony Hospital in Hays, Kansas to Joseph and
Margaret (Ruder) Wiesner. She was affectionately known as "Jeannie"
by her family. Nora passed peacefully surrounded by her family January 29, 2025
at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas at the age of 83.One of ten
children, her early childhood was spent between the family farm near Ellis,
Kansas and their family home in town. She attended St. Mary's School graduating
the 8th grade in 1955 and Ellis High School in 1959. Nora worked as a nanny in
Denver, Colorado to pay for her education at the Denver Business College,
graduating with secretarial skills that would last a lifetime.She returned to
Ellis and married Al Keller on October 22, 1960. They were married for 56 years
and raised three children together.Nora was
employed as a typist for local doctors, FHSU professors and historians in Ellis
County.As a young
family they moved to Emmett, Kansas in 1967 and lived in areas that provided
garden space and apple orchards. Growing children and gardens kept her busy as
a homemaker; she loved sewing and canning tomatoes, applesauce and her famous
dill pickles.In 1969 they
moved to Garden City where they remained.Nora worked in
the water well industry as a secretary and bookkeeper for Peerless Pump, Inc.
and Minter-Wilson Drilling, Inc. for over 40 years. She also kept books for
Al's oil business, Texas Refinery Corp. Nora was involved in her children's
favorite sport, softball. and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Together they
vacationed in Mexico, Hawaii, and many other parts of the U.S.She was a member
of St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, where she volunteered in the
rectory office.Her hobbies
included playing cards and Bingo, crocheting, puzzles, baking, gardening,
pulling weeds and listening to Elvis. She also spent hours playing and singing
with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and supporting their activities.
They were her sunshine.Nora is survived
by her daughter Connie (Michael) Hoffman of Garden City, KS and sons Mitchell
Keller of Hays, KS and Michael Keller of Garden City, KS.She was the
proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Audra (Jared) Bogard, Lansing, Kelsi
(Jeremy) Pfannenstiel, Hays. Adam (Misha) Hoffman, Holcomb, Justin (Joy)
Keller, Tokyo, Japan, Jason (Natalie) Keller, Olathe, Michael (Melanie)
Garrison, Garden City and John Snyder, Lawrence. As well as fourteen
great-grandchildren; Laine, Maya, Ethan, Halle, Miden, Ace, Danika, Sabina,
Jace, Jordy, Sloane, Rori, Wyatt, Willow and one on the way.Her surviving
siblings are Mary Frances Bauer, James (Gwen) Wiesner, Tom Wiesner, Laura Mae
(Bernie) Schoenberger, Bernie (Mary Alice) Wiesner, Gregory Wiesner, and Kathy
Wiesner. and many nieces and nephews.Nora is preceded
in death by her husband Al who died on July 4, 2016. She is also preceded in
death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard Wiesner and Harold Wiesner and a

T. Warren Hall, 104, Hays, died Monday, April 21, 2025 at
HaysMed.

 </figure>T. Warren Hall, 104, Hays, died Monday, April 21, 2025 at
HaysMed.He was born February 6, 1921 in Hays, the son of Frank John
and Elsie Elizabeth (Giinther) Hall.&nbsp;
Warren graduated from Hays High School in 1940 and attended Fort Hays
State University.&nbsp; On February 11, 1942 he
was united in marriage to Juanita Oglesbee in Beaumont, Texas, and they
celebrated 56 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on October 21,
1998.&nbsp; He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II in
the Philippines, Okinawa, and Iwo Jima.&nbsp;
Warren was a rancher and oilman, and in 1948 he and Juanita began life
at the Lazy-H Ranch where they lived until 1990 when they moved to Hays.&nbsp; He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
the Masons, the Lions Club, and he loved flowers.&nbsp; Most of all, Warren was family loyal and
loved traveling with his family to many countries and continents including
Europe, Asia, Russia, Africa, South America, and China.Survivors include his granddaughter Dawn Lantis and husband
Bill Cunningham of Ellis, two great grandchildren, Rachel (Lantis) Nissley and
husband Jason and Alex Lantis, and three great-great grandchildren, Rhett,
Beckett, and Arabella Nissley.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita,
daughter Linda Sue (Hall) Neihardt, brother Harold Hall, and his sister Dorothy
Shumaker.Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 26,
2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Randy Gibbs officiating.&nbsp; Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW
Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in Fort Hays Memorial Gardens Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service
time at the church.&nbsp; Memorials are
suggested to ALS Foundation.&nbsp; Services
are in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and condolences and
