Ruth A. Hoffman, age 64, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born on June 30, 1962, in Hays, Kansas, to Edmund and Germaine (Pfannenstiel) Schuetz.  She married David L. Hoffman on October 8, 1988, in Catharine, Kansas.

Ruth worked at Travenol, FHSU Childrens Center, and HaysMed.  Ruth grew up in  Catharine, and attended school in Catharine, and Hays.  She was a 1980 graduate of Hays High School.  She was a member of Saint Catherine Catholic Church.

Ruth loved crafts.  She was a kind and thoughtful person and never know a stranger, and was a big hugger.   She enjoyed her family, and the love of her life were her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her husband, David L. Hoffman of the home; her children, Nathan Hoffman (Sabina), Victoria, KS; Clayton Hoffman (Nicole), Hays, KS; Adrian Hoffman (Kaitlyn), Hays, KS; her grandchildren, Brielle; Collins; Statler; Rylee; Korie; Lucas; Landry; and one on the way; her sisters, Lois Ludwick (Craig), Stilwell, KS; Glenda Schuetz, Hays, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Germaine (Pfannenstiel) Schuetz; her half-brother, Jimmy Schuetz and Bernita; her half-sister, Bernita Walters and Alfred; her-in-laws, Victor and Amelia (Sander) Hoffman; and sister-in-law, Donna Sander.       

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Catharine, Kansas, with Concelebrants, Father Earl Befort OFM Cap., Father Pete Meis OFM Cap. and assisted by Deacon Br. Charbel Allen OFM Cap.

Burial will follow in  Saint Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.

A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, at   Saint Catherine Catholic Church.

The family suggests memorials payable to: Saint Catherine Catholic Church or Head for The Cure Foundation {Brain Cancer Research} in care of  Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
