Melba J. Buck, Salina, passed quietly in her sleep on November 24, 2021. She was born March 1, 1932, in Larned, Kansas.

Melba graduated from Larned High School and attended Kansas State University and Brown Mackie College.

Melba married F John Buck in June of 1956. She was preceded in death 
by her parents, Morgan and Gladys Yeager of Larned, a brother Marvin 
Yeager of Larned, and by her husband John, of Salina.

She is survived by her daughter Melanie (Craig) Regnier of Salina, and grandson Jason (Meredith) Regnier of Tallahassee Florida.

It was Melba’s wishes to be cremated and a memorial service will be 
held on Thursday, December 2, at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Presbyterian Church. 
The Rev. Dr. Martha Murchison will be officiating and Carol Biar 
assisting. Luncheon to follow.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Sunflower Adult Day Services
 or to Sunrise Presbyterian Church either directly or through Ryan

Melba J. Buck

Kay Delaine Krouse, 72, passed away November 24, 2021, at University 
of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. She was born on July 5, 
1949, at Concordia, to Delmar &amp; Mildred Elaine (Durham) Cox. Kay 
married Steven Krouse on June 12, 1971, and were blessed with 3 
daughters. They later divorced.

A Great Bend resident since 1989, Kay was a paraprofessional for Barton County Special Services from 2005-2020.
 She had also previously been a teacher and librarian for Otis-Bison 
school district from 1971-2005. She loved teaching and tutoring 
students. Kay received her bachelor’s degree from Bethany College and 
her master’s degree from Fort Hays State University. She was a member of
 First United Methodist Church of Great Bend and Delta Kappa Gamma 
International Society for Key Women Educators. Kay enjoyed reading, 
doing puzzles, spending time with her dogs and especially loved playing 
games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning as
 well.

Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Kay Krouse of Overland 
Park, Kristi Lynn Mason and husband Richard and Karyl Elaine Wahlmeier 
and husband Jesse, all of Great Bend; and five grandchildren, Sydney 
Mason, Teagan Mason, Evan Mason, Kaylin Wahlmeier and Keaton Wahlmeier. 
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, 
December 1, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends

Kay Delaine Krouse

Karen Sue Vanhoose was all too soon taken from this world on Tuesday, 
November 23, 2021, at the age of 71 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was 
born on July 8, 1950, in Plainville, Kansas to Eldon and Gola (Brokaw) 
Williams. She was united in marriage to David Stahl in 1968 and the 
couple was blessed with two children: Cory and Brett. They later 
divorced and she was united in marriage to Orvil Vanhoose on June 10, 
1995 in Plainville. Through this marriage, Karen gained four step- 
children; Chuck, Dan, Nikki, and Joel.
 Karen grew up in Rooks County where she attended Plainville High 
School and graduated with the class of 1968. Following high school, she 
pursued a nursing degree through Emporia State University. Karen then 
moved to Kansas City where she pursued a career as an airline 
stewardess, then moved back to Plainville to work as a nurse assistant 
for the Eddy Clinic in Hays and then Plainville Hospital. The family 
relocated to Great Bend in the early ‘80s where she began working in 
banking and real estate. Karen and Orvil moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
 in 1995 where they traveled all over the country for Orvil’s Express 
Freight Service. She loved to travel and many memories were made on 
those trips. In 2002 they moved back to Plainville and she went to work 
for First National Bank, later known as Astra Bank. Karen retired in 
2016 and continued part-time work for Effin’ Bits.
 Karen was known for her love of life, her spit-fire personality and a
 genuine and honest way about her. She was crafty, loved to crochet 
things for family, was an avid reader and loved to play the slot 
machines. Karen’s bright personality and “call it like it is” style will
 be remembered and cherished for the generations she leaves behind.
 She leaves behind her husband, Orvil Vanhoose of the home in 
Plainville; children, Cory (Christy) Stahl of Plainville, Brett Stahl 
(Michelle Hammerschmidt) of Plainville; step-children, Chuck (Brenda) 
Mader of Pensacola, FL, Dan (Heather) Mader of Lafayette, IN, Nikki 
(Jason) Rivers of Driftwood, TX, and Joel (Sheila) Vanhoose of 
Brushcreek, TN; and eleven grandchildren.

David Eugene Lawrence

Sister Mary Alice Walters, CSA, baptized Elizabeth Johanna, died 
peacefully November 4, 2021, at Nazareth Center, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
 Elizabeth was born on June 21, 1928, in Hays, Kansas, the second 
youngest of twelve children of Frank Walters and Monica Koerner Walters.
 Her mother died when she was four years old. Later her father married 
Rose Befort, a widow with two children. Frank and Rose had two children 
of their own, creating a blended family of sixteen to whom Sister Mary 
Alice was devoted all her life. She entered St. Agnes Convent in 1943 
and graduated from St. Agnes High School. She made her profession of 
vows in the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes as Sister Mary Alice on
 August 15, 1947, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
 Sister Mary Alice wanted to be a teacher from an early age, hoping 
to develop better methods to help children learn than those from her own
 experience of rote learning amid strict discipline. She achieved her 
goal, becoming a lifelong learner and educator. She began teaching in 
Fall 1947 while pursuing undergraduate studies; she earned a B.S. in 
Education from Marian College of Fond du Lac in 1960. Sister Mary Alice 
taught in elementary schools in Wisconsin and Kansas. In 1971, she 
earned her MA in Education, with an emphasis on Administration, from 
Mary Manse College, Toledo, Ohio, qualifying her to serve as principal 
at SS. Peter and Paul School, Hortonville, WI; St. Joseph School, Hays, 
Kansas; St. Louis and St. Patrick School, Fond du Lac, WI; and St. Agnes
 School, Butler, WI. Both as a classroom teacher and a principal she 
fostered individualized learning and curriculums with a whole-child 
approach. Sister Mary Alice also served on several school boards, 
nonprofit boards, and educational committees including St. Mary’s 
Springs High School Board of Directors, Fond du Lac; the Milwaukee 
Archdiocesan Review Board for Accreditation; and as chairperson of the 
HOPE Committee (Helping Others Promote Education) a CSA initiative that 
awarded grants to disadvantaged schools and religious education programs
 for teacher certification and educational materials.
 Taking on a new role from 1991-1995, Sister Mary Alice was appointed
 by CSA leadership to serve as local coordinator for the elderly and 
infirm sisters residing at Nazareth Heights in Fond du Lac.
 Sister Mary Alice spent her final years in active ministry at St. 
Stephen’s Parish in Milwaukee from 2000-2013, beginning as a religion 
teacher then assuming the role of Coordinator of Religious Education. 
She retired from this role in 2013 and chose to continue working as a 
volunteer in the parish: visiting the homebound, substituting as a 
catechist, and being a dearly loved presence and support to the staff 
and parishioners. She also enjoyed gardening and offering hospitality at
 her home in Cudahy, located close to the parish. In May 2021, Sister 
Mary Alice was unexpectedly diagnosed with terminal cancer. She 
immediately moved to Nazareth Center where she received loving care and 
support until the time of her death six months later.
 Sister Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her 
stepmother; her sisters, Marcella (Ray) Dreiling, Cecelia (Clarence) 
Wolf, Catherine (Lex) Schmidt, Mary (Al) Pfeifer, Alice (Alfred) 
Windholz, Frances (Herbert) Schmidt, Rita Mae Walters, Wilma (George) 
Bieker, and Miriam Walters; her brothers Ralph (Anna Mae) Walters and 
Robert (Ernestine) Befort.
 She is survived by her brother, Ronald (Pam) Walters; her sisters 
Rosemary (Ernest) Gerstner, Leona (George) Fross, and Janet (Jude) 
Gerstner; hundreds of nieces, nephews, and their families; and the 
Sisters of St. Agnes, with whom she lived, prayed, and ministered.
 Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Nazareth Court
 and Center, 375 Gillett Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, from 9:00 
-11:00 a.m. and from 12:00 -1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
 A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 2, 2021, in

Sister Mary Alice Walters

Marvin Ernest Selle, 69, died on November 24, 2021, at Harry Hynes 
Inpatient Unit, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on March 2, 1952, at Great 
Bend, Kansas to Eugene &amp; Lois (Fischer) Selle. He married 
Donna-Marie Werle on June 3, 1973.

A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he worked for South Bend Township 
as a Heavy Equipment Operator until his retirement in 2016. His life’s 
passions were fishing and hunting.

Survivors include Donna-Marie Selle, of the home; mother, Lois Selle 
of Great Bend, Kansas; sons, Anthony (Breea) Selle of Commerce City, 
Colorado, Chris (Cathy) Selle of Great Bend, Kansas, Mitchell Selle of 
Great Bend, Kansas; daughter, April Trantham of Great Bend, Kansas; 
brothers: Allen (Marilyn) Selle of Great Bend, Kansas, Dwight (Carol) 
Selle of Great Bend, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Sara, Levi, Caeden, 
Astin, Emeric, Ryker, Savanna, Skylar, Kaitlyn. He is preceded in death 
by his father.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 
November 30, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving from 
5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, 
December 1, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home with Reverend Dick Ogle 
presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery North, Great 
Bend.

Donna-Marie Werle on June 3, 1973.A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he worked for South Bend Township 
as a Heavy Equipment Operator until his retirement in 2016. His life’s 
passions were fishing and hunting.Survivors include Donna-Marie Selle, of the home; mother, Lois Selle 
of Great Bend, Kansas; sons, Anthony (Breea) Selle of Commerce City, 
Colorado, Chris (Cathy) Selle of Great Bend, Kansas, Mitchell Selle of 
Great Bend, Kansas; daughter, April Trantham of Great Bend, Kansas; 
brothers: Allen (Marilyn) Selle of Great Bend, Kansas, Dwight (Carol) 
Selle of Great Bend, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Sara, Levi, Caeden, 
Astin, Emeric, Ryker, Savanna, Skylar, Kaitlyn. He is preceded in death 
by his father.Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 
November 30, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving from 
5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, 
December 1, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home with Reverend Dick Ogle 
presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery North, Great

Carolyn Sulzer Redinger Peterson, 83, passed away on Thursday, November 
25, 2021, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, Kansas. 
 Vera Carolyn Sulzer, 7th child of Joseph Arthur and Mamie Esther 
Turner was born July 11, 1938, at the family home near Cale, Arkansas. 
 Late in 1938 the family moved to northeast Louisiana and remained 
there until 1952 when Carolyn and her parents moved to Conway County, 
Arkansas. Carolyn attended grade school and junior high at Oak Ridge, LA
 and graduated from Wonderview High School, Conway County, AR. 
 Carolyn learned to love books and reading at an early age-a love 
that continued all her life. During her junior-high, Carolyn decided 
that she would like to be a teacher. Determined to reach that goal, she 
attended Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene Univ.), even 
though she had to work more than one job at a time to pay her expenses. 
 It could be said that Carolyn’s teaching career began while she was 
in high school when she taught a class of younger children in Sunday 
School. Her Sunday school work continued during her college days and on 
until later years. At one time or another, Carolyn taught all ages in 
Sunday school and Bible school, and, she directed the children’s church 
for several years. 
 Carolyn’s professional career began at Agra, KS after graduation 
from Bethany Nazarene College in 1962 with a major in history. Her first
 assignment was all subjects for 6th and 7th grades. Year-by-year, her 
class assignments changed until she was teaching high school history or 
English duties with the junior high and with some time in the library. 
 Carolyn and Ted Glen Redinger were married May 30, 1963, at 
Kensington, KS and continued to live in Agra until 1973 when Carolyn was
 hired as full-time librarian at the Smith Center Jr-Sr High School. 
Carolyn continued as librarian until her retirement in 2000. Ted passed 
away in 1994. 
 Raised in a home that taught and lived a personal relationship with 
Christ, Carolyn accepted Christ as her Savior in 1953. However, as a 
young adult Carolyn did not hold true to her convictions, but, in 1981 
she rededicated her life to Christ and in January, 1982 became a member 
of the Smith Center Nazarene Church. 
 Psalm 40:1-3a 
 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and 
heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and
 the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked 
along. 
 He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. 
 Carolyn participated in the church in many ways: Sunday school and 
vacation Bible school teacher; children’s church director; choir member;
 special music participant; and as church treasurer. 
 On April 7, 2001, Carolyn and Donald Lee Peterson were married in 
Smith Center. Carolyn and Ted had no children, but now Carolyn was given
 a large and growing family. The Peterson children became very special 
friends of Carolyn’s and she dearly loved them all. As the 
greatgrandchildren came along, she enjoyed making quilts for each of the
 little ones. 
 Carolyn started researching her family history and she discovered 
she had a Revolutionary War Patriot in Peter David. She was accepted as a
 member of the DAR on October 9, 2010. She was currently serving as the 
Regent of the Sarah Steward DAR Chapter. 
 Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, 
Jame Alfred; brothers, Travis, Jesse, Howard and Cyrus; sister, Juanita 
Bethany; a nephew James Albert and two nieces: Barbara Nell Sulzer and 
Margaret Bethany Rebmann and by her husbands, Ted Redinger and Donald 
Peterson. 
 Survivors include her step-children: Tony and wife Coralee; Terry 
and wife Sally; Connie and husband Bruce Jacobs; Curtis and wife Martha;
 Brenda McCrary; daughter-in-law, Diane Peterson; sister in law Betty 
Sulzer of Ollala, WA 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nieces; 
nephews; and a host of friends.

Richard Allen Lemon passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the 
Rooks County Health Center at the age of 79. He was born on December 13,
 1941, to Floyd and Lucille (Highley) Lemon in Phillips County Valley 
Township, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Janet B. Mueller on 
September 24, 1960, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Athol, Kansas. 
The couple was blessed with three children: Ty, Monica, and Stacey.
 Richard grew up in Smith Center and graduated from Smith Center High
 School in 1959. He went to work as an electrician and later owned RJ 
Electric in Plainville. He enjoyed his time in the outdoors hunting and 
fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
 He is survived by his children, Ty (Brenda) Lemon of Chapman, KS, 
Monica Ebbert of WaKeeney, KS, and Stacey (Pat) Dujakovich of Kansas 
City, MO; siblings, Elda Lovin of Leoti, KS, and Cleta (Gary) Smith of 
Smithville, MO; sister-in-law, Marion Lemon of Smith Center, KS; nine 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
 He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lucille Lemon; 
wife, Janet Lemon; siblings, Donald Lemon and Edna (Larry) Carroll; and 
son-in-law, Kim Ebbert.

Nancy Mae (Amos) Cloyd

Maxine Marie Nelson, 89, died Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Citizens 
Medical Center. She was born November 4, 1932, in Harlan County, NE, to 
Carl O Zimmerman and Mora Katherine (Stark) Zimmerman. 

Maxine graduated 
from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Education. She married 
Albert Keith Nelson on June 2, 1952. Upon moving to Colby in 1973, she 
became a reporter for the Colby Free Press and had a humor column for 
many years. She was a member of the Kansas Press Women and won several 
awards for her reporting and column. For many years, she served as a 
Weight Watcher instructor for the area. 

Maxine was active in her 
community. She was a member of many civic organizations and was an 
advocate for making businesses handicapped accessible for those who 
needed it. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day 
Saints and served in many callings, but especially enjoyed serving in 
the Family Research Center. She was an avid genealogist. She also 
enjoyed her membership in the High Plains Art Club. She served as a Girl
 Scout leader and in the Boy Scouts for many years. Maxine enjoyed time 
with her family, gardening, genealogy, and making art of any kind, 
especially painting. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Albert Keith Nelson. 
Maxine is survived by her children, Paula (Paul) Boyd, Derby, Ks, Carl O
 Nelson, North Platte, NE, Robert L (Christine) Nelson, North Platte, 
NE, Jo (Mike) Vandenberg, Salt Lake City, UT, and Eric (Gail) Nelson, 
Bellevue, WA; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one 
great-great grandchild. 
Cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am Dec 
11, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1145 S 
Franklin, Colby, KS. Memorials are suggested to Pioneer Memorial Library

Ramona Ann Stupka (Bieker)

Nyla Marie (Marsh) Powell, age 66 passed away in her home on November
 14th, 2021, in Downs, Ks. She was born to Charles Marsh and Charlotte 
(Willmarth) Marsh in Sibley, Iowa on August 3rd, 1955. &nbsp;

Nyla may have been born in Iowa, but she laid down her roots in Downs
 Ks where she dedicated her life and was a tremendous asset to the 
community. In April of 1974 she was united in marriage to Brad Gant and 
to that union Corinne Renee was born. The past 4 years she also had a 
fur son Kirby who she loved tremendously. Nyla was also a bonus mom to 
Brandy Kirchhoff Becker for many years.&nbsp;

Nyla’s truest loves were her grandchildren Kennedy, Tatum, Cooper, 
and Declan. She loved to support them in all their extracurricular 
activities. With all the exciting activities she found another passion 
to take photos. She became well known in the family as the one who would
 capture all the beautiful moments with her love of taking pictures. 
Nyla was also well known to her family and friends for making Christmas 
stockings as a new baby or significant other were added to the family. 
Everyone cherished these stockings because she made sure they 
represented each individual and she put her love and time into them.&nbsp;

Nyla graduated from the Minneapolis High School and went on to get 
her associates degree at the Vo-Tech in Beloit, Ks. Once living in 
Downs, she found her forever workplace and worked at the local 
pharmacies that were owned by Don Heiland, Kelly Berkley and Shawna 
Doane.&nbsp; In 1999 she went and received certification as a pharmacy 
technician.&nbsp;

Dedicating many years to the Downs Parks and Recreation group she 
became a true asset to the organization and community.&nbsp; Nyla made sure 
the baseball/softball teams were well supported and that the children of
 the community were taken care of through that organization. Nyla loved 
living in Downs and that love she proved through all years being so 
faithful to the various organizations and jobs she had.&nbsp;

Nyla is preceded in death&nbsp;by her parents and Betty Kaspers (mother in
 law) and left to mourn her is her daughter Corinne (Bryan) Hoard, 
Kennedy Walsh (Alexis Ryan), Tatum, Cooper, Declan Hoard, her siblings 
Kevin, Valerie, Calvin, Margaret, Anthony &amp; Aaron, sister in law 
Lana Gant and family Lela, Trevor, Hadee, Tynlee, Ridge Arnoldy, Dee, 
Jesse, Byntlee and Kessler Winkel, nieces and nephews that she dearly 
loved and friends that became family, and a beautiful community that she
 cherished.&nbsp;

Nyla will be forever missed by her family, friends, and coworkers. 
She will remembered for many things but most of all for loving her 
family and her work.

Memorial services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Downs Parks and Recreation.&nbsp;

Billy Pack Beamgard was born on December 2, 1933, in Atwood, KS, to C.W.
 and Gladys Innes Beamgard. Billy Pack passed away after a tragic 
accident on November 23, 2021. He was very proud to live in and be an 
active member of the Atwood community most of his life, only leaving for
 a few years for the military, college and his first few years of 
teaching. 
After high school graduation, Bill went to college at KSU, where he 
obtained his pilot’s license. Being a pilot was a favorite hobby of 
Bills. Next, Bill and good friend Frankie Chvatal joined the U.S. Army 
together in September of 1954, serving in Korea. After coming home from 
the Army, he returned to his education at FHSU. Following his graduation
 from FHSU, Bill taught math in Valley and Elkhorn, NE for 7 years 
before moving back to Atwood, KS to continue his teaching career. Bill 
started teaching math courses at Atwood High School in 1967 and later 
started the computer science program, building it from the ground up. He
 took classes in Computer Science over the summers from KSU. Bill 
continued teaching and helping students to learn until his retirement in
 1997. Bill had many fond memories of his students and always enjoyed 
visiting with them. He did take one year off from teaching to pursue his
 other passion, cars. He worked as a mechanic, as he did most summers, 
at the family Dodge dealership. He was a lifelong “Dodge Boy.” 
Bill was an active member of many organizations, community groups, and 
school programs. As part of Lions Club International, he was the 
District Governor 17K from 1975-76 and chaired the KS Lions Sight 
Foundation. He was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, Masons, 
Shriners Club, ODD Fellows, Atwood Flying Club, Silver Haired 
Legislature, Atwood School Board, Kansas Teachers Association, NEA, 
Methodist Church, was an Eagle Scout Advisor (Bill was also an Eagle 
Scout), Atwood City Mayor (founding Mayor of the Early Rod Run), and 
Atwood City Council member. Bill loved the Atwood community and loved 
being involved and giving his time. 
While finishing his education at FHSU, Bill met the love of his life, 
Jeanine D. Gagnon, a registered nurse. They were married on December 26,
 1960. They had three children, William John “Bill”, JoLinda Lee Oberly,
 and James Patrick “Jim” and four grandchildren, Austin Earle Oberly, 
Andrew Austin Oberly, Jesse Pack Beamgard, and Savannah Belle Beamgard.

 </figure>Billy Pack Beamgard was born on December 2, 1933, in Atwood, KS, to C.W.
 and Gladys Innes Beamgard. Billy Pack passed away after a tragic 
accident on November 23, 2021. He was very proud to live in and be an 
active member of the Atwood community most of his life, only leaving for
 a few years for the military, college and his first few years of 
teaching. 
After high school graduation, Bill went to college at KSU, where he 
obtained his pilot’s license. Being a pilot was a favorite hobby of

Dwight 'Bud' Franklin Perrey

Muriel Elizabeth (Leonard) Davis, age 90, went to be with the Lord 
Jesus her Savior at her home in Minneola, FL on November 19, 2021. She 
was born in Blue Ridge, VA on August 4, 1931, the eldest daughter of 
Anthony and Bertha (White) Leonard.

She grew up working on the family farm while attending Colonial 
Elementary. She graduated from Colonial High School before she attended 
Bryan University in Dayton, TN. After meeting her future husband, she 
transferred to Gordon College in Wenham, MA.

Muriel married Chuck Davis on September 12, 1958, in Blue Ridge. This marriage was blessed by four children.

After Chuck finished seminary and was ordained, they pastored at 
Glade Creek Church in Blue Ridge. They joined Africa Inland Mission and 
they served with the mission for 48 years before retiring to the 
mission’s facilities in Florida.

As missionaries they attended French language school in Neuchatel, 
Switzerland and then moved to the Ituri Forest Station of Banjwadi, in 
the Republic of Congo. After three months as missionaries, Muriel and 
Chuck were held as political prisoners. Chuck was held in a prison and 
Muriel, pregnant, and with 2 children was held at a missionary station 
with several other families. After 111 days, they were rescued by 
Belgium Para Commandos and returned to the United States. Muriel, Chuck 
and 3 children returned to the Republic of Congo in 1966 where they 
served for another 10 years.

When the family of six returned to the United States, they made their
 home in Roanoke, VA. Muriel worked for Shenandoah Life Insurance and 
Musselwhite &amp; Associates for over 30 years. After retirement, they 
moved to the Africa Inland Mission Retirement Center in Minneola, 
Florida.

Muriel is survived by her husband, Chuck; son, Steve Davis and his 
wife, Debbie, of Hummeltown, PA; three daughters, Beth Taylor and her 
husband, Dr. Bill, of Byrdstown, TN, Susan Falero of Chapin, SC and Judy
 Fitzgerald and her husband, Joel II, of Ness City, KS; 10 
grandchildren; and 4 great grand-children; one brother, Robert Leonard, 
of Blue Ridge; two sisters, Carolyn Vandergrift and her husband, 
Richard, of Harrisburg, NC and Sandra Ennis and her husband, Harry, of 
St. Augustine, FL; two sisters-in-law, Shelby Leonard, Blue Ridge and 
Betty Yackels, Bradenton, FL; three brothers-in-law, Nelson Dudley, 
Roanoke, VA, George Tribbett, Blue Ridge, and Herbie Davis (Roberta), 
Middleboro, MA. &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, 
Fred Leonard; two sisters, Janie Dudley and Margaret Tribbett; one 
brother-in-law, Robert Yackels; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Leonard 
and Mary Guilfoyle (Jim).

graduate. He worked for Ulmer Home Improvement in Norton. Mikey enjoyed 
racing RC cars and dirt bikes. More than anything he loved having a BBQ 
with all his family and friends.

mother, Alana Castaneda of Ramona, CA; girlfriend, Darci Palmer of

Andrew Scott Campbell Sr. was born June 6, 1977, in McPherson, KS and 
was raised by Vivian and Randall Campbell. He passed away November 21, 
2021, at the age of 44. 
 Andrew grew up in Great Bend and attended the local schools, where 
he was active in sports. He enjoyed traveling, working out, and fishing 
with his buddies. Andrew always noticed and paid special attention to 
children and made them feel loved. He loved food, animals, all kinds of 
music, and most of all he loved the Kansas City Chiefs. While in Norton,
 he worked on the Bullseye Ranch and helped renovate several buildings. 
Andrew lit up a room every time he walked in and most recently, he was a
 mentor to many who were struggling with addiction. He preached his 
sobriety and was so proud of his accomplishments, and his family was 
very happy for all that he had overcome. Andrew was a big part of the 
Freedom Choice Group and spent all his downtime encouraging others and 
uplifting them. 
 Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Randall L. Campbell. He 
is survived by his mother, Vivian Campbell and husband LeRoy Armijo of 
Commerce City, CO; daughter, Haley Glover of Forsyth, MO; son, Andrew 
Glover Campbell, Jr. of Forsyth, MO; sister, Amy Campbell of Commerce

Senior Living in Great Bend. He was born on June 11, 1929, to Kenneth 
&amp; Edna (Russell) Underwood. He married Theoda Martin March 29, 1951,
 at Raton, New Mexico.&nbsp;

Coming to Great Bend from Dodge City in 1974, Walter was the Plant 
Superintendent of Western P&amp;L, Sunflower Electric, Wheatland 
Electric and Aquila, having retired in 1991. He was a member of First 
Baptist Church and loved studying the bible. He enjoyed woodworking and 
restoring antique John Deere tractors.

Survivors include, his wife Theoda Underwood of the home; two sons, 
Mark Underwood and wife Sherri of Sharon, Kan., and Pat Underwood and 
wife Kerry of Blanchard, Okla.; two daughters, Debbie Chapman and 
husband Michael of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Denise Scott and husband Bryan
 of Great Bend; sixteen grandchildren; and thirty-six great 
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, 
Charles Underwood.

Visitation will be held from Noon to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, 
2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5:00

Phillipsburg resident Carol J. Weinman passed away Nov. 22, 2021, at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillpsburg at the age of 73.&nbsp; She was born Sept. 18, 1948, the daughter of James &amp; Mildred (Bailey) Daley.

Survivors include her husband Larry of the home; her sister-in-law Janice Geidd of Phillipsburg; her brother-in-law Terry Brenzikofer of Hays; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Randy M. Lansink, 63, died on Monday, November 22, 2021, at St. Catherine
 Hospital in Garden City. He was born on September 8, 1958, at Ida 
Grove, Iowa the son of George W. &amp; Loween M. Lansink. He married 
Roxanne Morgan on November 28, 2020 at Garden City. 
Randy attended school in Arthur, Iowa and graduated from Ida Grove, Iowa
 High School. He went to work for IBP in Denison, Iowa and moved to 
Finney County to work on the construction crew building the IBP Plant at
 Holcomb. After the plant opened, he was the Superintendent of Hides 
and Tannery. He later started Lansink Construction Company and worked 
commercial construction. He also owned and operated Quick Cash in 
Garden City and Lansink Transfer Company, a livestock feed hauling 
business. Randy enjoyed playing the guitar, tinkering in his garage, 
riding his motorcycle, researching and doing anything mechanical, and 
traveling. He was also very good at telling stories about his 
adventurous life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 
 
He is survived by his Wife- Roxanne N. Lansink, Children- Stephanie and 
Neal Murphy of Bucyrus, Jessica and Shelby LaFay of Wichita, Jeremy and 
Marissa Morgan of Holdredge, Nebraska, Dustin and Lanette Morgan of 
Wichita, April and Matt Bergner of Scott City, and Brittaney and Ryan 
Owens of Lakin, Brothers- George Lansink of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Kent 
Lansink of Manilla, Iowa, Sister- Brenda Wallace of Olathe, Kansas. His 9
 grandchildren are Kerriann, Devin, Peyton, Adrreis, Gavyn, Adrianna, 
Samara, Brooklyn, and Ryan. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 
Daughter Kristi, and Brother- Brice Lansink. 
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at First Southern Baptist 
Church in Garden City with Rev Randy Caddell officiating. Friends may 
call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden 
City.

 Memorials are suggested to Lansink Grandchildren’s Education Fund
