Robert Dean Yunker, 83, passed away at the Medical Lodges in Goddard, KS.  Robert was born on Wednesday, October 28, 1942 in Salina, Kansas to Lydia (Staab) and Martin Yunker. 

Bob began his education at Sacred Heart Grade School in Salina, continuing at Jefferson when the family moved back to Hays in the early 1950’s.  He graduated from Hays High School in 1960 where his activities included band and football. Known for his work ethic, Bob became the first of the largest group of brothers (six) to deliver the Hays Daily News.  Employed at the Hays Creamery during his last two years of high school and his first year of college, Bob spent a year in Denver installing carpet before joining the US Navy. 

His military service included graduating from the Navy’s Electronic Technician (Radar) school at Treasure Island, CA followed by assignments onboard the USS Gunston Hall (LSD 5) and USS Thomaston (LSD 28).  It is believed Bob contracted Parkinson’s disease through exposure to Agent Orange while serving onboard the Thomaston during numerous Marine Corps landings and&nbsp;&nbsp;operations in Vietnam and its inland waterways.

  His military awards included the Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation Gallantry Cross with Palm, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. 

  After his Honorable Discharge, Bob returned to Fort Hays State University earning a Masters in Business and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Throughout college he worked at his uncle’s tavern, the Blue Moon, followed by a number of years at Travenol, prior to accepting the position as Business Manager and later as Superintendent of the Kansas Soldiers Home at Fort Dodge. After returning to Hays, he was employed by the US Postal Service until he retired.

 Bob married Kathy L. Smith of Agra, KS in 1969.  They later divorced remaining friends until her passing in 2019.  His interests included managing his investments and real estate properties, all Fort Hays State University and Kansas City sports, antique and special interest vehicles, and raised pigeons for years.  He was a Life Member of American Legion Post 173 in Hays, and served as the Commander and Adjutant of Post 107 at Ft. Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Martin Jr., David, and Thomas, nephew Matthew Yunker, former wife Kathy Yunker, and brother-in-law David Weed. 

Bob is survived by sons Rob (Aaron) of Wichita, James (Kelli) and Jason of Hays, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Brothers Charles of Tecumseh, KS, James (Shirley) of Hays, KS, Daniel (Joan) of Andover, KS; sisters Mary Alice Weed of Salina, KS, Janice Koshiol of Hays, KS; sisters-in-law Karen Yunker Fountain, CO and Lois Yunker of Munjor, KS, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A celebration of life will be planned for the spring of 2026.

Norman George Anschutz, 86, of
Russell, Kansas, died on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Via Christi Saint
Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Norman was born on October 15,
1939, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Louis and Vivian (Thielen) Anschutz.&nbsp; He grew up in Dorrance, Kansas, and graduated
from Dorrance High School in the class of 1958. He attended Kansas State
University, graduating with an Architecture degree in 1963, and spending most
of his early professional career with Shaver &amp; Company in Salina, Kansas.
During a temporary project assignment in California, he met and fell in love
with Barbara Jean Dito. The couple was united in marriage on May 31, 1969, in
San Francisco, California. Norman and Barbara began their new life together in
San Jose, California and were blessed with two children: Cheryl and Michael. In
1976, the family moved back to Kansas, making their home in Russell.&nbsp; Norman worked part-time as an architect while
maintaining the family farm he had dearly missed while in California. Though
having moved away, Norman ensured the family traveled back to San Francisco
frequently to stay connected to Barbara’s Italian family, while enjoying the
amazing food and taking in all the sights and traditions.&nbsp; He was a longtime member of St. Mary Queen of
Angels Catholic Church in Russell.&nbsp;
Norman was a dedicated member of the Russell COOP coffee group where he
enjoyed spending his morning visiting with friends. Norm and Barb loved
traveling to Colorado, and other scenic locations as he loved the outdoors. A
tender heart for animals, Norman found great joy caring for the farm cats and
the many dogs in his life over the years. He was also an avid collector of
scale model John Deere equipment and Model T Cars, and a lifelong history buff.
After discovering the wonders of the iPad, he would spend countless hours
learning everything he could about history and listening to his beloved music.
Most of all, Norman enjoyed spending time working the family farm with his son,
and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving family include wife of
56 years, Barbara Anschutz of the home, daughter, Cheryl T. Brock (Travis) of
Wichita, Kansas and son Michael N. Anschutz (Mendi) of Hays, Kansas; sisters
Ellen Spaulding (Mark) of Andover, Kansas and Eileen Keenan (Dennis) of
Overland Park, Kansas; and grandchildren Hannah, Leah, Luke, Jared, Shelby, and
Easton.

He was preceded in death by his
parents and sister Joyce Cobb-Barker.

A Funeral Mass will be held at
10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic
Church of Russell. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM to 5:00
PM, Monday, November 24, 2025, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary. Vigil and
Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday November 24 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels

Norman George Anschutz

Michael
R. 'Mick' Prine, 79, peacefully passed away November 18, 2025, at Pioneer Manor
in Hugoton, Kansas with his wife by his side. 

He was born on February 26, 1946,
to a single mother in Wichita, Kansas, at the Children’s Service League. Hallie
and Wilda Prine were overjoyed when they received the call that they had become
the parents of a baby boy, and his adoption was finalized that June. They
brought him home to Hugoton, where he grew up.


Mick attended Hugoton schools and graduated with the Class of 1964.


In 1965, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, beginning a distinguished 40-year
military career. During his time at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, he met and
married Gayle Trainer of Fort Dodge, Iowa. To this marriage four children were
born: Toby, Heather, Shelly, and Nikki Prine.


Following their divorce, Mick returned to Hugoton in 1979. He rekindled a
friendship with childhood friend Lynda Burditt Hall, and they married in August
of that year. With their marriage, his family grew to include her children,
Pat, Phil, and Cherie Hall.


Mick began working for Panhandle Eastern in 1980, serving at the Hugoton plant
and its surrounding areas in Meade and Rolla, Kansas, as well as Snead, Texas.
He remained with the company for 15 years. He later opened the Mick Prine
Insurance Agency, which he operated for four years, before beginning a career
as a crop adjuster for Farm Bureau and RCIS.


Mick retired from the Army Reserve in 2006 at the rank of Major, completing 40
years of honorable service. One of his most meaningful recognitions was
receiving a Quilt of Valor, presented in gratitude for his dedication and
sacrifice in service to the United States.


Throughout his military career, he earned numerous commendations, including the
Meritorious Service Medal; the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf
Clusters; the Army Achievement Medal; the Army Good Conduct Medal; the National
Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star; and the Armed Forces Reserve
Medal with Hourglass Device, along with many letters of commendation from
brigade and division commanders. He often said he was most proud of his time as
a Company Commander for an Army Basic Combat Training unit, guiding raw
recruits through their transformation into trained Soldiers.


Mick loved hunting with the boys and taking his family on fishing and camping
trips whenever he could gather everyone together. He enjoyed Country Western
music and dancing, and he especially loved riding his Harley, cruising or
taking trips with Lynda to New Mexico and Colorado. Camping was a favorite
pastime, and he often brought along his beloved mother-in-law, Flossie 'Granny' Burditt.
As the children grew and started families of their own, Mick cherished the
holidays and gatherings that brought everyone home. He delighted in celebrating
milestones, making memories, and welcoming new grandchildren and
great-grandchildren into the family.


During his time at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, Mick made many new friends and
kept staff and caregivers entertained with his jokes, stories, and humor. He
will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and his faithful boys,
Wiggins and TB.


Mick was a member of the First Christian Church; a past Master of Hugoton
Masonic Lodge #406; and a member of the Southwest Shrine Club, the Shriners
Motorcycle Unit, and the Fez Patrol.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilda and Hallie Reed Prine.


Mick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynda; his children Toby (Jenny)
Prine of Hays, Kansas; Heather (Kent) Waldron of Johnson, Kansas; Shelly Walton
of Gardner, Kansas; Nikki (Charlie) Esquibel of Wichita, Kansas; Pat (Ladonna)
Hall of Hugoton, Kansas; Phil (Connie) Hall of Woodland, California; and Cherie
(Eddie) McLain of Augusta, Kansas. He is also survived by his beloved
grandchildren: Makenzie Droste; Aidan, Hallie, and Landry Waldron; Taylor
(Emerson) Campbell; Alec and Gracie Walton; Emily (Michael) Stefan; Andrew
Prine; Lauren (Jacob) Carpenter; Logan Esquibel; Chase (Erin) Hall; Shalee
(Cam) Gilter; Kate Hall; Tanner Hall; Kristin (Jason) Hill; Skylar (Jandy)

Michael R. 'Mick' Prine

Mary Wilma (Koester)
Billips, of Hill City passed away Monday, November 17, at Hays Medical Center.
She was 97 years old. Mary was born on the farm near Densmore, Kansas, on
September 8, 1928, to Edward John and Adeline Kathryn&nbsp;&nbsp; (Hardiek) Koester. She graduated from
Densmore High School in 1946. Mary attended Normal School Training at Fort Hays
Kansas State College. She married Don Billips on November 25, 1947, in Norton
Kansas.

She was a founding
member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City. Mary was
also a charter member of the Graham County Hospital Auxiliary.

Mary taught at
Whitfield Country School and Hill City Grade School. After starting their
family, she was a homemaker and later in life, she taught pre-school in Hill
city for 14 years. Mary was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress, made
beautiful handiwork, and was known for her tea rings. She was an avid 4-H
supporter and judged many county fairs and Kansas State Fair.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;


She is survived by her
husband of 77 years, Don, of the home, sons Laverne 'Ace' (Janet) and Lyle 'Butch' (Kappi) Billips of Hill City, daughters Linda Brown, Waco, Texas, Lisa
(Kent) Colwell, Hays, and Lori Elpers, Cheney, daughter-in-law Linda Billips,
Bogue, and sister-in-law Irene Koestser, Logan. Grandchildren, Bruce (Roseanne)
Billips, Brett (Michelle) Billips, Roger Billips (Chelsie Wolf), Kassi (Jason)
Cain, Robert Brown, Greg (Ashley) Billips, Chris (Carianne) Colwell, Mark
(Anjali) Colwell, Anne (Nate) Pitts, and Renee Elpers, twelve great
grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and two step great-great
grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by infant daughter

Billips, of Hill City passed away Monday, November 17, at Hays Medical Center.
She was 97 years old. Mary was born on the farm near Densmore, Kansas, on
September 8, 1928, to Edward John and Adeline Kathryn&nbsp;&nbsp; (Hardiek) Koester. She graduated from
Densmore High School in 1946. Mary attended Normal School Training at Fort Hays
Kansas State College. She married Don Billips on November 25, 1947, in Norton
Kansas.She was a founding
member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City. Mary was
also a charter member of the Graham County Hospital Auxiliary.Mary taught at
Whitfield Country School and Hill City Grade School. After starting their
family, she was a homemaker and later in life, she taught pre-school in Hill
city for 14 years. Mary was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress, made
beautiful handiwork, and was known for her tea rings. She was an avid 4-H
supporter and judged many county fairs and Kansas State Fair.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
She is survived by her
husband of 77 years, Don, of the home, sons Laverne 'Ace' (Janet) and Lyle 'Butch' (Kappi) Billips of Hill City, daughters Linda Brown, Waco, Texas, Lisa
(Kent) Colwell, Hays, and Lori Elpers, Cheney, daughter-in-law Linda Billips,
Bogue, and sister-in-law Irene Koestser, Logan. Grandchildren, Bruce (Roseanne)
Billips, Brett (Michelle) Billips, Roger Billips (Chelsie Wolf), Kassi (Jason)
Cain, Robert Brown, Greg (Ashley) Billips, Chris (Carianne) Colwell, Mark
(Anjali) Colwell, Anne (Nate) Pitts, and Renee Elpers, twelve great
grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and two step great-great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant daughter

Mary Wilma (Koester) Billips

Linda Lou
Plowman, 82, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at Country Living of
Larned, Kansas. She was born in Lawrence, Kan., April 17, 1943, the daughter of
Albert &amp; Edith (Denewiler) Floro.

Linda
married George T. Plowman August 10, 1963, in Lawrence. They were blessed with
three children. She worked as a medication aide for Great Bend Manor and then Cedar
View until her retirement. Linda loved children and being very involved in the
community, and it showed in her volunteering. She served as a homeroom mother at
Lincoln Elementary and various other activities, helping children in their
education. She was a 4-H leader for the City Slickers group and was a Girl
Scout Leader. She was a faithful member of Church of Christ where she served as
a teacher, assisted with funeral dinners, and additional church activities. 

Linda was a
very gracious hostess of events and was extremely hospitable. She let God’s
light shine through her in her kindness, giving, compassion, and big heart for
others. She loved collecting 'I Love Lucy' memorabilia, and movies of various
genres, whether they were VHS or DVDs. In all her accomplishments, her greatest
was her faith, marriage, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors
include her beloved husband of 62 years, George T. Plowman; son, G. Kevin
Plowman and his wife Mary of Lawrence; daughters, Patti Kasselman and her
husband Mike of Great Bend, Penny Lawson and her husband Doug of Tecumseh;
grandchildren, Derek Plowman (Melissa), Sarah Plowman, Amber Lucchesi (Nick),
Kacee Kasselman (fiancé Marcus), Mercedes Ryan (Jacob), Branson Hoffman,
Brianna Hoffman, Catera Morey (Tucker); and 9 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jim Floro.

Funeral
service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025, at Bryant
Funeral Home with Bill Buggeln presiding. Visitation is available from 1:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2025, with family receiving guests from

Mary Ann Thaemert,
86, of Manhattan, Kansas, and former Natoma, Kansas, resident died on Sunday,
November 16, 2025, at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan.

Mary Ann, the
daughter of Rudolph and Marie (Luhman) Reese, was born August 06, 1939, on the
Reese family farm in rural Rooks County, Kansas.&nbsp; She was a country girl and animal lover
through and through, and was never without an animal by her side whether it be
cat, dog, horse, cow.&nbsp; She attended Laton
country school through 8th grade and then went on to graduate from Natoma High
School in 1957.&nbsp; She met, fell in love,
and was then united in marriage to Allan Lee Thaemert on May 31, 1959, at the
Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Natoma, Kansas.&nbsp; From this union they were blessed with 5
children: Troy, Todd, Becky, Tom, and James.&nbsp;
They made stops in Grinnell, KS and then Olsburg, KS before settling in
Manhattan, Kansas.&nbsp; Mary Ann was a
dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.&nbsp;
She had an amazing entrepreneurial drive which helped her find many
creative outlets for her passions and talents. Starting as a bank teller then
on to Mary Kay Beauty Consultant then to having the reputation for being the
best daycare provider in Manhattan where the children (and parents) loved her
almost as much as she loved them.&nbsp; And
Mary Ann always seemed to have an antique shop somehow, somewhere for several
decades.&nbsp; Upon retiring in 1994 Allan and
Mary Ann moved back to the Reese family farm where she had been born and had grown
up.&nbsp; She kept her entrepreneurial spirit
alive through owning and operating both a thrift store Shop on the Corner and a bed &amp; breakfast House on the Hill.&nbsp; But most of all she loved spending time and
being active in her children and grandchildren’s lives.

Surviving family
include her husband Allan of Lucas, Kansas, son Todd Thaemert of Manhattan,
Kansas, daughter Becky Pancost (Jon) of Lucas, Kansas, son Tom Thaemert
(Krista) of Manhattan, Kansas, son James Thaemert of Manhattan, Kansas, and 5
grandchildren:&nbsp; Savannah Awbrey (Nate),
Reese Thaemert (Marissa), Sophie, Harlan, and Lily Pancost.

She was preceded in
death by her parents, son Troy Thaemert, brothers Dean and Edwin Reese and
sisters Wilda Lindberg, Lola Boedeker and Lorene Tatkenhorst.

A celebration of
MaryAnn’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the
Peace Lutheran Church in Natoma, Kansas.&nbsp;
Burial will follow at the North Lutheran Cemetery in rural Natoma.&nbsp; Family will greet guests from Noon to 12:45
P.M. at the church the day of the service.&nbsp;
After the graveside service, family and friends are invited to meet at
the church for a meal and fellowship.&nbsp; Memorials

Dillon Leiker, age 64 of Hays, KS passed away at KU Medical center October
26th, 2025 with her family by her side.&nbsp;

Kellie
was born July 11, 1961 to Sharron Dillon and the late Loren E Dillon in Hays,
Ks. During her younger years her&nbsp;fathers work with&nbsp;Halliburton took
the family overseas where she had great experiences living in Kuwait,&nbsp;Saudi
Arabia, Singapore and traveled to Europe, the Far East and Hawaii. &nbsp;

In
middle school the family relocated back to the United States residing in
Gillette and Casper, Wyoming then returning to their hometown of Hays after
Kellie graduated from Kelly Walsh&nbsp;High School in 1979. &nbsp;

Kellie
worked as an oil field secretary for Great Guns and ELI where she still
remained friends with many of her coworkers. &nbsp;She also earned her Nail
Technician&nbsp;license holding her Cosmetology Senior Status&nbsp;License when
she passed away.&nbsp;

In
April of 1983 Kellie married Larry Dean Leiker, of Hays. They built their life
on Leiker family land&nbsp;enjoying having property so they could raise their
own beef and chickens. Kellie loved the many trips she and Larry took on the
Harley going to Sturgis. Kellie also loved beach trips with her mother, sister
&amp; aunt.

Kellie
is survived by her loving husband Larry of 42 years; son Bradley (Ashley)
Leiker;&nbsp;daughter
BreAnne (Freddy) Kruger; 2 granddaughters Kimber and Everly Leiker; 2 grandsons
Conner and Brayden Kruger. &nbsp;Mother, Sharron Dillon and sister Kimberly
(Glenn) Loibl. Niece, Brandi Wise; nephews Brandt (Stephanie) Wise and Jeff (the late Katherine) Leiker. Brothers in Law; Ron Leiker (Lori) and Mark (Carla) Leiker. 3 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews.

Kellie
was known for her beautiful smile and her warm, kind heart and&nbsp;will always
be loved and cherished by all of her family and friends.

Lyle Charles Tenbrink, age 87, of Spearville, Kansas, passed away
on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse, Kansas.

He was born on November 5, 1938, in Spearville to Harold and
Eulalia (Helfrich) Tenbrink. On November 24, 1962, he married Serena Gross, and
together they were blessed with three children: Kim (Lonny) McGuffey, Carol
(Dennis) Kranz, and Gary (Misty) Tenbrink.

Lyle enjoyed a 40+ year career at the grain elevator with Right
Co-op in Spearville. He was an avid golfer and hunter, a proud KU Jayhawks
basketball fan, and loved teasing his grandchildren. Known as a jokester and
prankster, he brought joy and laughter wherever he went.

Despite his ornery streak, Lyle had one of the kindest and biggest
hearts. His bright smile and warm presence will be deeply missed.

A man of faith, Lyle was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church in Spearville and a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus with St. Leonard’s
Council #1539.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Serena Tenbrink; his
children and their spouses; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He
is also survived by his brother, Larry (Mary) Tenbrink; and sisters, Sr. Diane
Tenbrink and Sheila (Tim) Riter. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Harold and Eulalia Tenbrink.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 22, 2025, at
11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 100 South Main Spearville, KS
67876, interment will follow the services in the parish cemetery. Lyle's family

Michael Winters- Kensington&nbsp;(53)&nbsp;

Michael Winters went to be with his beloved mother on November&nbsp;13th, 2025,&nbsp;at Hays Med Center with his sisters&nbsp;by his side. He was born August 7th, 1972,&nbsp;to William (Bill) and Ruth Winters in Vernal Utah. 

He grew up in Stockton where he&nbsp;meet&nbsp;the mother of his children and closest and dearest friend, Melanie&nbsp;Romey. Michael worked as the General Manger for the McDonald’s and Sonic all of Norton. He retired in 2020 after a&nbsp;fourth&nbsp;of July firework accident, that had&nbsp;burned&nbsp;most of his upper body. 

He is survived by Melanie and their children,&nbsp;Elijah Judd, Rhiannon Kathleen, and Adriana Ruth Winters all&nbsp;of&nbsp;Norton. 

His siblings&nbsp;Correna&nbsp;(Ray)&nbsp;Swaney, Robert (Kim) Winters all of Stockton. Angela (Mike Townley) Kuhlmann of&nbsp;Woodston, and his twin sister&nbsp;only five minutes younger Michelle (Michael)&nbsp;Williams&nbsp;of&nbsp;Watonga&nbsp;Oklahoma. 

He is&nbsp;proceeded&nbsp;in death by his parents, and oldest nephew Jesse&nbsp;Swaney&nbsp;and youngest niece Jackie Royer Kuhlmann. 

A Celebration of Life&nbsp;will be held later in Stockton.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Rodney Dean Graber, 80, of Dallas,
Texas, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025,&nbsp;surrounded by his
family.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, on May 3, 1945. Son of
Alvin and Elizabeth Graber, he grew up with his three sisters and a lifelong
curiosity about how things worked. Rodney loved using his hands to tinker,
invent, and bring his ideas to life, which nurtured his passion for
woodworking. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed running track and playing
basketball during his school years.

Rodney married Ann (Schmidtberger) on August 22, 1970, and together they had
three daughters.&nbsp;He spent most of his life working as a general contractor
and master carpenter in Topeka, Kansas.&nbsp;
A talented craftsman, he was rarely without a project in progress. If something
could be&nbsp;built, Rodney would find a way to make it happen. He generously
shared his gifts with others, helping
turn countless dreams into reality.

Rodney’s devotion to his family was unwavering. He retired and moved to Dallas,
Texas, in 2015,&nbsp;to be near his children and grandchildren. “Papa” loved
being involved in their everyday lives and
supporting their activities. He also enjoyed carpentry, fishing, cooking,
playing cards,&nbsp;cheering on the KU Jayhawks, and never missing an
opportunity to make others laugh.&nbsp;He will forever be remembered for his
quick sense of humor, zest for life, and his big heart.

Rodney is survived by his children, Kristen Akers (William); Allison Cofer
(Brett); Rochelle&nbsp;Mayfield (Tim); his sister, Lavonne Dyck (Harvey); the
children’s mother, Ann Graber; and his seven grandchildren, Caden; Madeleine;
Lauren; Noah; Amanda; Michael; and Benjamin.

Rosemary 'Rosie' Pfeifer, age 86, of Ellis passed away
peacefully on November 15, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on
November 11, 1939, in rural Ellis County to Fidelis and Adeline (Befort) Engel.
Rosemary graduated from Girls Catholic High in 1957.

On September 28, 1957, Rosemary married Ernest Pfeifer, Sr. in
Munjor, Kansas at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Together they
built their life raising their family on a farm north of Ellis Kansas. Ernest
preceded Rosemary in death in July 2025 after 67 years of marriage. Rosemary
was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member
of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella St. Gilbert Circle,
Ellis, Kansas.

Rosemary is survived by her six children, sons, Ernie Pfeifer, Jr.
(Sherry), David Pfeifer (LuAnn), Jerry Pfeifer (Nancy), and Jim Pfeifer (Linda)
all of Ellis, Kansas and daughters, Christine Gist (Mike), Hays, Kansas and
Sandy Rome (James), Ellis, Kansas. Twelve grandchildren, Ernest Pfeifer,
III&nbsp;(Ann), Lynn Leiker (Landon), Jessica Klaus (Joe), Sarah Gist, Danielle
Flinn (Todd, Dylan Pfeifer, (friend, Brandi), Nicole Brown (Mitch), Scott

Marian was a homemaker. She
attended Brown Mackey College in 1961-1962. She also worked as the Postmaster
and at the ASCS office. She married Larry Kleweno on March 6, 1965, in Bazine,
Kansas. He passed away on October 14, 2020.

Survivors include her daughter,
Laura Kleweno of Ness City; son, Linn (Jennifer) Kleweno of Bazine; brother,
Dean Delaney of Ness City; sister-in-law, Dianne Delaney of Ness City; 2 granddaughters,

Edna Marie Wolf-Billinger, 94, Hays, died Thursday, November
13, 2025 at HaysMed.

She was born November 4, 1931 on the family farm near
Munjor, the daughter of Alvis and Mary (Unrein) Jacobs.&nbsp; On August 22, 1950, she was united in
marriage to Marcellus Wolf in LaCrosse, and they celebrated 43 years of
marriage before he preceded in death on December 20, 1993.&nbsp; She then married Peter J. 'Pete' Billinger,
Jr. on April 12, 1996, in Russell, and they celebrated 28 years of marriage
before he preceded her in death on October 16, 2024.

Edna was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church,
loved doing various crafts including pottery, painting, and crocheting, and she
was a talented seamstress.&nbsp; She enjoyed bowling,
Bingo, and playing cards, but most of all, she was a wonderful grandma who
loved her family. 

Survivors include two sons Wesley Wolf and wife Carolyn of
Yoder and Terry Wolf of Antonino, her daughter Linda Thyfault of Hays, her
daughter-in-law Betty Wolf of Hays, two brothers Alvis Jacobs, Jr. and wife
Renee of Clovis, NM and Richard Wolf and wife Karleen of Russell, seven
grandchildren Katrina Schmidt (Eric), John Wolf (Wendy), Michelle Brannam
(Dustin), Christina Byler (Dustin), Jessica Schmeidler (Austin), Robin Hart
(Josh), and Renee Wolf (Chris Cole), 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces
and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands
Marcellus and Pete, her son Rick Wolf, her daughter-in-law Karen Wolf, one

Edna Marie Wolf-Billinger

Herbert Henry 'Herb' Hachmeister,
93, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Rooks
County Hospital in Plainville, Kansas.&nbsp; 

Herb was born June 25, 1932 on
the family farm north of Natoma, Kansas.&nbsp;
He was one of six children born to Ferdinand W. and Bonita (Richards)
Hachmeister.&nbsp; He grew up in Natoma and
graduated from Natoma High School in 1952.

Herb was united in marriage to
JoAnn Bernritter on April 11, 1963.&nbsp; This
union was blessed with three children; Charlotte, Carol and Kathleen.&nbsp; They made their home in Natoma.&nbsp; JoAnn preceded him in death on November 16,
1987.&nbsp; Later in life, Herb was united in
marriage to Peggy Cooper on February 14, 1993.&nbsp;
They made their home in Natoma.&nbsp;
Peggy preceded him in death on December 14, 2011.

Herb
was a Farmer and Rancher in the Natoma area all of his life.&nbsp; He was also known for his ability to Sale
anything to anybody.&nbsp; He also raised
Exotic Animals for many years and loved sharing them with his family and the
local community.&nbsp; He was a lifetime
member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma.&nbsp;
He served on the Church as a Trustee and Elder.&nbsp; He was a member of the Natoma City Council,
Township Board, Cemetery Board for the Lutheran Cemetery and was apart of the
Hereford Association Board.&nbsp; He enjoyed
supporting the US Veterans anytime he could, visiting the local elderly and
sick and helping anyone who needed help without hesitation.&nbsp; He was a caring man that loved bringing
smiles to his family and friends.

Herb’s
surviving family includes his daughters, Charlotte Luhman (Brian) of Natoma,
Kansas, and Carol Barnes of Ness City, Kansas; brothers, Paul Hachmeister
(Judy) of Natoma, Kansas and Marvin Hachmeister of Manhattan, Kansas; sister,
Mary Ann Beisner (Roger) of Alton, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

93, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Rooks
County Hospital in Plainville, Kansas.&nbsp; Herb was born June 25, 1932 on
the family farm north of Natoma, Kansas.&nbsp;
He was one of six children born to Ferdinand W. and Bonita (Richards)
Hachmeister.&nbsp; He grew up in Natoma and
graduated from Natoma High School in 1952.Herb was united in marriage to
JoAnn Bernritter on April 11, 1963.&nbsp; This
union was blessed with three children; Charlotte, Carol and Kathleen.&nbsp; They made their home in Natoma.&nbsp; JoAnn preceded him in death on November 16,
1987.&nbsp; Later in life, Herb was united in
marriage to Peggy Cooper on February 14, 1993.&nbsp;
They made their home in Natoma.&nbsp;
Peggy preceded him in death on December 14, 2011.Herb
was a Farmer and Rancher in the Natoma area all of his life.&nbsp; He was also known for his ability to Sale
anything to anybody.&nbsp; He also raised
Exotic Animals for many years and loved sharing them with his family and the
local community.&nbsp; He was a lifetime
member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma.&nbsp;
He served on the Church as a Trustee and Elder.&nbsp; He was a member of the Natoma City Council,
Township Board, Cemetery Board for the Lutheran Cemetery and was apart of the
Hereford Association Board.&nbsp; He enjoyed
supporting the US Veterans anytime he could, visiting the local elderly and
sick and helping anyone who needed help without hesitation.&nbsp; He was a caring man that loved bringing
smiles to his family and friends.Herb’s
surviving family includes his daughters, Charlotte Luhman (Brian) of Natoma,
Kansas, and Carol Barnes of Ness City, Kansas; brothers, Paul Hachmeister
(Judy) of Natoma, Kansas and Marvin Hachmeister of Manhattan, Kansas; sister,
Mary Ann Beisner (Roger) of Alton, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.Herb
was preceded in death by parents; both wives; daughter, Kathleen Hachmeister;

Herbert 'Herb' Henry Hachmeister

Randy Koerner, 79, Hays, died Thursday, November 13, 2205 at
his home surrounded by family.

He was born December 19, 1945 in Hays, the son of Joseph A.
and Bertha (Miller) Koerner.&nbsp; He
graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy in 1963 and earned his electronics
certification from Wichita Technical Institute.&nbsp;
Randy was part owner of Horizon Appliance and Video, and was an
electronics technician and appliance serviceman.&nbsp; On July 7, 1979 he was united in marriage to
Wanda Oplinger in Jewell, Kansas, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church,
the St. Mary’s Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #6984 and the Bishop
Cunningham Fourth Degree Assembly #282.&nbsp;
Randy enjoyed woodworking, small engine repair and his garage was his
happy place.&nbsp; He was always willing to
help anybody in need and he loved spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife Wanda of Hays, his sons Paul
Koerner and wife Kim of Hutchinson, Mitch Koerner and wife Sheena of Parker, CO
and Mike Koerner and wife Mindy of Parker, CO, his grandchildren, Mikayla,
Ashton, Sierra, Mariah, Nora, and Thomas Koerner, two sisters-in-law, Judy
Koerner of Hays and Maria Koerner of St. Louis, MO, and numerous nieces and
nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers,
Joe, Tom, and Skip Koerner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Don Zimmerman officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Monday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Tuesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from 5:30 pm until 6:30, a vigil service will be at 6:30, followed by a combined Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus rosary, all on Monday at the funeral home.

Randy Koerner

John P. Clarke II, 68, Hays, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025
at HaysMed.

He was born May 17, 1957 in Hays, the son of John P. and
Barbara Jean (Leiker) Clarke.&nbsp; He graduated from Jetmore High School in
1975 and graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University
of Kansas in 1979.&nbsp; On June 5, 1982 he was united in marriage to Jayne
Einsel in Greensburg, Kansas.&nbsp; John was a Certified Public Accountant who
began his banking career in 1983 with Emprise Bank in Hays.&nbsp; He served as
EVP and CFO for the bank until 2004.&nbsp; He was also on the Emprise Bank
Board of Directors from 1990-2004.

In November 2004, John became a founding partner for Bank of
Hays and served the bank as a member of the Board of Directors and
President/CFO until his death.&nbsp; He served as a member of the Kansas
Bankers Association’s Bank Benefits Committee and served as a member of the
Board of Directors of Data Center, Inc., Hutchinson, Kansas, a full-service
core bank data processing provider to banks across the nation.&nbsp;

In 2024, John received the Nation Meyer Innovative Banker
award at the annual DCI Conference.&nbsp; He served on the Board of Directors
for the FHSU Foundation and continued to support FHSU by lending his banking
knowledge and experience as a guest speaker to many different FHSU
classes.&nbsp; He also served on the Board of Directors for Smoky Hill Country
Club.

John was an avid golfer who loved playing with his numerous
friends and family and was proud of his four hole-in-ones that he carded, one
with a broken toe.&nbsp; His ability to keep track of golf scores, handicaps,
and wagers for his group were always announced on the following tee box.&nbsp;
He was an avid KU fan, proudly owned one share of his beloved Green Bay Packers
and enjoyed playing blackjack with his dad, brothers, and his daughter.&nbsp;
John enjoyed keeping track of his weather station, was the family IT person,
and his granddaughter Rylee was his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife Jayne of Hays, daughter Paige
Clarke of Kansas City, MO, granddaughter Rylee Stewart, his father John Clarke
and wife Sabra Clarke of Ness City, his mother Barbara Clarke of Garden City,
brothers Robert 'Bob' Clarke (Diana) of Lancaster, CA, Jerry Clarke (Jane) of
Ness City, Jeff Clarke (Marjie) of Garden City, and Tad Clarke (Scott Hayes) of
Providence, RI, and numerous nieces, nephews, and golfing buddies.

He was preceded in death by niece, Danielle Clarke.

Trey E. Loftis, age 27, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on September 15, 1998 in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Richard J. Loftis and Shawna Stewart McQuitty. A resident of Scott City, Kansas from 2000 to 2017, he moved to Commerce City, Colorado and worked in construction and landscaping.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include his one son - Atticus Littlehawk of Dodge City, Kansas, two daughters - Eden Loftis of Ellsworth, Minnesota, Rylee Loftis of Ellsworth, Minnesota, father - Richard Loftis of Scott City, Kansas, mother - Shawna McQuitty Wilder of Larned, Kansas, one brother - Alec Byrum of Katy, Texas, two sisters - Caitlin Robinson of Larned, Kansas, Terrin Stewart of Larned, Kansas, grandparents - Robert and Karen Blair of Scott City, Kansas, three aunts - Michelle and Travis Eggleston of Rose Hill, Kansas, Rachelle McQuitty of Texas, Janean Loftis of Great Bend, Kansas, one uncle - Ryan McQuitty of Texas, three nieces and seven nephews.

Trey E. Loftis

Donna Dee George (nee Wait) 83, of Natoma, Kansas, died on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Hays Med in Hays, Kansas.

Donna was born on October 15, 1942, in Codell, Kansas, to Walter and Dorothy (John) Wait. She grew up in Natoma, Kansas, and graduated from Natoma High School.

She attended Fort Hays University and graduated with a degree in education. She met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to David Arthur George on August 8, 1964, in Natoma, Kansas. From this union, David and Donna were blessed with four children, DeeAnn, Dennis, Dustin, and Denton. Donna taught and coached in Randall, Kansas.

When David was drafted into the United States Army in 1966, she followed him to Germany until they returned stateside in 1967. Donna taught in Jewell, Kansas, until moving to Lebanon, Kansas, where she took a hiatus from teaching for a few years while raising their children. 

During these years, she also provided child care in her home. The family then moved to Beloit, Kansas, where Donna worked at a home for at-risk girls for a year. 

The next several years, they lived in Chanute, Kansas, where Donna substituted and taught sixth grade. In 1984, the family moved home to Natoma, Kansas, where Donna taught in Paradise and Natoma, teaching science and social studies until her retirement in 2005.

 She truly loved working with students and continued to substitute in local districts for many more years. Donna enjoyed reading, sewing, puzzles, and taking classes to keep her teaching certificate current and because she simply loved learning new skills. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She attended many sporting events, dance recitals, cattle shows, etc., over the years.

Surviving family include daughter DeeAnn Heaton and husband Darren of Cuba, Missouri, sons Dennis George and wife Amy of Hays, Kansas, Dustin George and wife Carmen of Natoma, Kansas and Denton George and wife Jennifer of Phillipsburg, Kansas, seven grandkids Hannah Shaw and husband Cody of Rolla, Missouri, Tyler Heaton and wife Haley of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Haley Vajnar and husband Conrad, Emily George, Avry George, and Derek George all of Hays, Kansas, Erika Edwards and husband Hayden of Elkmont, Alabama and 3 great grandkids Wyatt Shaw, Mary May Vajnar, and Leo Vajnar. Brother Lynn Wait and wife Patti Wait of Frankfort, Kansas, sisters Marilyn Beeman and husband Billy of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Deeanna Baumgartner of Junction City, Kansas, and Jackie Baumgartner of Phillipsburg, Kansas. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David George, and parents, Walter and Dorothy Wait.

Cremation was selected by the family, and a memorial service to celebrate Donna’s life will be at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Paradise Gymnasium in Paradise, Kansas.

Family will greet guests on the day of the funeral service. Memorials may be given to the Lions Scholarship Fund and sent to the mortuary.

Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, David George, and parents, Walter and Dorothy Wait.Cremation was selected by the family, and a memorial service to celebrate Donna’s life will be at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Paradise Gymnasium in Paradise, Kansas.Family will greet guests on the day of the funeral service. Memorials may be given to the Lions Scholarship Fund and sent to the mortuary.Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.

Roger Pruter, 85, Hays, died Saturday, November 8, 2025 at HaysMed.

He was born September 29, 1940 in Hays, the son of Otto and Ella May (Stockton) Pruter. Roger graduated from Paradise High School with the class of 1958, then he attended college in Hutchinson for a year before transferring to Fort Hays Kansas State College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts in 1963. 

Roger managed college cafeterias in many states including Wyoming and Louisiana, worked in sales, and served in the National Guard. 

On April 26, 1964 he was united in marriage to Janet “Jan” Wickham at the Church of the Nazarene in Hays, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. 

For 28 years, Roger and Jan lived in Colorado. Roger loved the mountains, traveling with Jan in their Airstream, and planning rallies while president of the Colorado Airstream Club. He was a member of North Oak Community Church and enjoyed growing in faith and fellowship with his Tuesday morning men’s group.

Roger had a wonderful sense of humor and was a people person who had a gift for remembering names, interests, and preferences of those whom he encountered. He sought out those in need and helped them in simple ways filled with great kindness. 

He was proud to be from Paradise, organized many town reunions, and assumed the role of community curator. Roger made many photo albums for his family, enjoyed gardening, and when losing the use of his left arm, he took on the challenge of building his own raised garden beds. Most of all, Roger loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Jan of Hays, son Wade Pruter of Wichita, daughter RaJan Pruter of Colorado Springs, CO, his sister, Nina Brewsaugh and husband Carl of Oklahoma City, OK, and three grandchildren, Caden Prescott of Colorado Springs, CO, Genna Pruter and fiancé Caden Pfeifer of Russell, and Avery Pruter of Wichita.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at North Oak Community Church with Pastor Josh Gelatt and Pastor Abraham Marintzer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time on Saturday at the church. 

Private family inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to North Oak Community Church or to Paradise Valley Grace Church.

Phillipsburg resident, Royce Ratliff, passed away on November 4, 2025, peacefully at home, at the age of 78.

Royce Eugene Ratliff was born on June 2, 1947, in Smith Center, Kansas, to his parents, Wayne and Pearl (Gutzman) Ratliff.

Royce was united in marriage to Connie (Olson) Ratliff on September 15, 1968, at the First Christian Church in Smith Center, Kansas.

Royce is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Pearl Ratliff, brothers Dean and Brian Ratliff, and sisters Diane Kern and Coleen Gale.

Survivors include wife Connie Ratliff of the home, sons Troy Ratliff of Wichita, Kansas, Travis Ratliff and wife Jennifer of Greeley, Colorado, Tracy Ratliff of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Amy Rose and husband Mike of Agra, Kansas, and Annie Russell and husband Bob of Phillipsburg, Kansas, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
