Tillman "T.J." Strange, age 92, of Hays, Kansas formerly of Comanche, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026 in Hays. He was born November 13, 1933 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Carrel Buck and Tommie Birdie (Castleman) Strange.
On June 29, 1952 he married Winona Mae (Strickert) in Clayton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2020.
T.J. graduated from Liberal High School and later joined the Liberal Police Department. Being a police officer was rewarding for T.J. but knew that with his family to be provided for he would need to pursue a new career. He started at Northern Natural Gas which led him to a lifetime career working in Oil and Gas retiring in Comanche, Oklahoma.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Grabbe, Hays, Kansas; two grandsons: Matthew Grabbe and wife Jennifer, Hays, Kansas; John Grabbe and wife Julie, Hays, Kansas; four great grandchildren, Jackson Grabbe, Ren Grabbe, Wyatt Grabbe, and Mark Grabbe; and a brother, Bill Strange and wife Claudia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Winona; brothers, Adrian, Cecil and Bobby; and a son-in-law, Michael Grabbe.
Private family graveside services are planned at the Grabbe Family Cemetery.
