MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Ismael Massoud and Nijel Pack each scored 15 points, both hitting three 3-pointers, and Kansas State used a quick start to defeat Omaha 79-64 on Wednesday night.

Mark Smith and Marquis Nowell both added 11 points for Kansas State (2-0).

The Wildcats were up 15-2 less than five minutes into the game and had a late 18-3 run in the first half to go up by 21 before settling for a 42-26 lead at the break.

The Mavericks had a 10-0 run in the middle of the second half to get within 12 but Kansas State settled down and three of its next four baskets were 3-pointers. The Wildcats had four 3-pointers in the 16-3 run that made it 77-51 with less than five minutes to go.

Omaha (1-2) scored the last 10 points of the game.

Kansas State shot 53% for the game and had a 41-29 rebounding advantage but also had 16 turnovers.

Kyle Luedtke hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points off the bench for the Mavericks, who shot better from distance 41% (11 of 27) than from inside the arc 31% (12 of 39).

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Fort Hays State women's basketball team moved up three slots to fourth in the first regular season rendition of the D2SIDA Media Poll, released Tuesday (Nov. 16) by the organization. The Tigers were seventh in the ranks to open the year, but moved past three teams after a strong 2-0 start to the season. The Tigers never trailed over opening weekend, leading wire-to-wire in victories over Southeastern Oklahoma State and Sioux Falls. Fort Hays State moved past Central Missouri, who fell from fourth to 24th after a 3-2 start to the season. The Tigers also jumped the defending national champions after Lubbock Christian dropped a contest over the weekend and moved past fellow undefeated North Georgia. The Tigers received 344 points in the voting process, 11 back of third-place Drury and 14 behind second-place Alaska-Anchorage. Lander moved up to the top spot after receiving 11 first-place votes. Fort Hays State is also fourth in the preseason&nbsp;WBCA DII Coaches Poll. The first regular season coaches poll is scheduled to be released later this month. The Tigers were also a near-unanimous selection atop the D2SIDA central region rankings, receiving four out of five first-place votes and a second-place vote on the final ballot for a total of 49 points. Minnesota-Duluth is second in the region with 31 points, while Southwestern Oklahoma State is third with 30 points. Central Missouri is the next-best MIAA team, coming in fourth in this week's regional rankings. Fort Hays State will play the first of 15 home games this weekend (Nov. 19-20) when the Tigers host St. Cloud State, Cameron and Newman in a crossover classic. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Thirteen members of Fort Hays State Football received All-MIAA selections for the 2021 season on Tuesday. Budke, a junior from Beloit, Kansas, was the top receiving tight end in the MIAA in 2021, finishing with 47 receptions for 620 yards and eight touchdowns. This is the first all-conference selection of his career. He twice had over 100 receiving yards in a game this season with nine catches for 122 yards as his season high at Missouri Western. He produced four or more receptions in seven of 11 contests. Budke led the Tigers in receiving touchdowns for the season. He ranked eighth in the MIAA in receptions per game during the regular season (4.3). Soto, a sophomore from Pueblo, Colorado, receives a first-team nod as an all-purpose back, helping the Tigers as a running back, receiver, and kick returner. He led the MIAA in all-purpose yards during the regular season with 1,728. His season total ranks fifth in FHSU history, the first Tiger with over 1,700 all-purpose yards since 2015 when Shaquille Cooper produced 1,753. Soto led the Tigers in rushing yards (814) and ranked third on the team in receiving yards (485). At the end of the regular season, he ranked seventh in NCAA Division II for all-purpose yards per game (157.1) and 12th&nbsp;in rushing yards per carry (6.8). His yards per carry average ranks second-best in FHSU history. He twice rushed for 100 or more yards in a game with 198 as his season high against Missouri Southern, while his season best in all-purpose yards was 309 against Nebraska-Kearney. Angram-Boldin, a senior from Pahokee, Florida, is now a three-time All-MIAA selection on the offensive line. He was a second-team selection in 2018, a third-team pick in 2019, and now a first-team selection in 2021. He also has one All-Super Region selection to his credit as well. Angram-Boldin was a mainstay on the offensive line for the Tigers over the last three seasons, starting 34 consecutive games. He started all 11 this season at left guard. Angram-Boldin helped the Tigers rank third in the MIAA in total offense at 460.3 yards per game, second in passing offense, and fourth in rushing offense. Fuller, a junior from Arlington, Texas, receives second-team honors at quarterback for the second-straight season. He finished the year with 230 completions for 3,038 yards and 22 touchdowns. Fuller threw for at least 300 yards in a game four times, with his season-high 474 yards against Missouri Western setting a new single-game record at FHSU. He also set a new single-game mark for completions in that contest with 40. He also owns the school career passing touchdown records now with 64. He earned MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week three times throughout the season. He now has 7,567 passing yards in his career, which is second-most in school history just 115 yards shy of the record. Starks, a senior from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection at defensive back. He nets second-team honors this year after third-team honors in 2019. Starks ranked fourth in tackles for FHSU with 57, led the team in interceptions with two, and tied for the team lead in pass breakups with six. He was third on the team in tackles per game (5.7), since he missed one contest due to injury, and had a season-high 10 tackles against Northwest Missouri State. He now has 151 tackles, six interceptions, and nine pass breakups in his career at FHSU. Preston, a senior from Missouri City, Texas, earns the first all-conference honor of his career at defensive back. He ranked third on the team in tackles with 62 and tied for the team lead in pass breakups. He also had a sack, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick this season. He twice reached double figures in tackles during the regular season with 11 as his season high against Nebraska-Kearney. Preston has 101 career tackles. Ramsey, a junior from Canadian, Texas, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection at wide receiver. He was an honorable mention selection in 2019 before receiving third-team honors this season. Ramsey finished the 2021 season with 65 catches for 811 yards and four touchdowns. He led the MIAA in receptions per game during the regular season at 6.5, which ranks 13th&nbsp;in NCAA Division II. Ramsey was fourth among MIAA wide receivers in total receiving yards during the regular season, and second in total receptions. His 81.1 receiving yards per game also ranked second in the conference at the end of the regular season. Ramsey now has 128 receptions for 1,874 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career at FHSU. Stroughter, a junior from Richmond, California, earns his first All-MIAA selection as a third-team pick on the offensive line. He made an immediate impact in his first year with the Tigers after earning all-conference honors at Diablo Valley College in California. Stroughter helped the Tigers finish with the third-best total offense in the MIAA during the regular season, producing 460.3 yards per game. He helped the Tigers produce the fourth-most rushing yards per game and second-most passing yards per game. He started eight of his 10 games played for the season. Kelly, a junior from Staten Island, New York, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection on the offensive line. He was a third-team selection his redshirt-freshman season of 2017 and receives an honorable mention selection this year. Kelly started all 11 games at left tackle. He, like Stroughter, helped the Tigers to the third-best total offense in the MIAA during the regular season, including the second-best passing attack and fourth-best rushing attack. Menges, a freshman from Bushton, Kansas, gets an honorable mention nod at linebacker. He led the Tigers in tackles for the season with 75, which included 6.5 for loss, and a sack. He had three pass breakups for the season. Sossen, a freshman punter from Perth, Australia, receives an honorable mention selection. He averaged 38 yards per punt this season with 18 attempts resulting in fair catches and 20 resulting in drives starting inside the 20 yardline. Sanders, a senior from Largo, Florida, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection on the defensive line. He receives an honorable mention pick this year after finishing sixth on the team in tackles with 42. He led the team in tackles for loss (8.0) and sacks (4.0). He finished his career at FHSU with 87 tackles, including 13 for loss. Heimerman, a senior from Halstead, Kansas, receives the first All-MIAA selection of his career at linebacker. He was on pace for a big year at linebacker, but had his season cut short through five games due to injury. He still managed to finish fifth on the team in tackles despite the injury with 44, reaching double figures in a game twice. He was averaging 8.8 tackles per game this season. First-team selections went to&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6130">Hunter Budke</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6186">Adrian Soto</a>, and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6120">Amari Angram-Boldin</a>, second-team picks included&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6146">Chance Fuller</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6188">Jordan Starks</a>, and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6173">Jhimon Preston</a>, and third-team selections included&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6174">Manny Ramsey</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6366">Kristopher Stroughter</a>.&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6158">Pat Kelly</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6167">Myles Menges</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6298">Ethan Sossen</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6180">Javaris Sanders</a>, and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6153">Layke Heimerman</a>&nbsp;all received honorable mention picks. Budke, a junior from Beloit, Kansas, was the top receiving tight end in the MIAA in 2021, finishing with 47 receptions for 620 yards and eight touchdowns. This is the first all-conference selection of his career. He twice had over 100 receiving yards in a game this season with nine catches for 122 yards as his season high at Missouri Western. He produced four or more receptions in seven of 11 contests. Budke led the Tigers in receiving touchdowns for the season. He ranked eighth in the MIAA in receptions per game during the regular season (4.3). Soto, a sophomore from Pueblo, Colorado, receives a first-team nod as an all-purpose back, helping the Tigers as a running back, receiver, and kick returner. He led the MIAA in all-purpose yards during the regular season with 1,728. His season total ranks fifth in FHSU history, the first Tiger with over 1,700 all-purpose yards since 2015 when Shaquille Cooper produced 1,753. Soto led the Tigers in rushing yards (814) and ranked third on the team in receiving yards (485). At the end of the regular season, he ranked seventh in NCAA Division II for all-purpose yards per game (157.1) and 12th&nbsp;in rushing yards per carry (6.8). His yards per carry average ranks second-best in FHSU history. He twice rushed for 100 or more yards in a game with 198 as his season high against Missouri Southern, while his season best in all-purpose yards was 309 against Nebraska-Kearney. Angram-Boldin, a senior from Pahokee, Florida, is now a three-time All-MIAA selection on the offensive line. He was a second-team selection in 2018, a third-team pick in 2019, and now a first-team selection in 2021. He also has one All-Super Region selection to his credit as well. Angram-Boldin was a mainstay on the offensive line for the Tigers over the last three seasons, starting 34 consecutive games. He started all 11 this season at left guard. Angram-Boldin helped the Tigers rank third in the MIAA in total offense at 460.3 yards per game, second in passing offense, and fourth in rushing offense. Fuller, a junior from Arlington, Texas, receives second-team honors at quarterback for the second-straight season. He finished the year with 230 completions for 3,038 yards and 22 touchdowns. Fuller threw for at least 300 yards in a game four times, with his season-high 474 yards against Missouri Western setting a new single-game record at FHSU. He also set a new single-game mark for completions in that contest with 40. He also owns the school career passing touchdown records now with 64. He earned MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week three times throughout the season. He now has 7,567 passing yards in his career, which is second-most in school history just 115 yards shy of the record. Starks, a senior from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection at defensive back. He nets second-team honors this year after third-team honors in 2019. Starks ranked fourth in tackles for FHSU with 57, led the team in interceptions with two, and tied for the team lead in pass breakups with six. He was third on the team in tackles per game (5.7), since he missed one contest due to injury, and had a season-high 10 tackles against Northwest Missouri State. He now has 151 tackles, six interceptions, and nine pass breakups in his career at FHSU. Preston, a senior from Missouri City, Texas, earns the first all-conference honor of his career at defensive back. He ranked third on the team in tackles with 62 and tied for the team lead in pass breakups. He also had a sack, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick this season. He twice reached double figures in tackles during the regular season with 11 as his season high against Nebraska-Kearney. Preston has 101 career tackles. Ramsey, a junior from Canadian, Texas, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection at wide receiver. He was an honorable mention selection in 2019 before receiving third-team honors this season. Ramsey finished the 2021 season with 65 catches for 811 yards and four touchdowns. He led the MIAA in receptions per game during the regular season at 6.5, which ranks 13th&nbsp;in NCAA Division II. Ramsey was fourth among MIAA wide receivers in total receiving yards during the regular season, and second in total receptions. His 81.1 receiving yards per game also ranked second in the conference at the end of the regular season. Ramsey now has 128 receptions for 1,874 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career at FHSU. Stroughter, a junior from Richmond, California, earns his first All-MIAA selection as a third-team pick on the offensive line. He made an immediate impact in his first year with the Tigers after earning all-conference honors at Diablo Valley College in California. Stroughter helped the Tigers finish with the third-best total offense in the MIAA during the regular season, producing 460.3 yards per game. He helped the Tigers produce the fourth-most rushing yards per game and second-most passing yards per game. He started eight of his 10 games played for the season. Kelly, a junior from Staten Island, New York, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection on the offensive line. He was a third-team selection his redshirt-freshman season of 2017 and receives an honorable mention selection this year. Kelly started all 11 games at left tackle. He, like Stroughter, helped the Tigers to the third-best total offense in the MIAA during the regular season, including the second-best passing attack and fourth-best rushing attack. Menges, a freshman from Bushton, Kansas, gets an honorable mention nod at linebacker. He led the Tigers in tackles for the season with 75, which included 6.5 for loss, and a sack. He had three pass breakups for the season. Sossen, a freshman punter from Perth, Australia, receives an honorable mention selection. He averaged 38 yards per punt this season with 18 attempts resulting in fair catches and 20 resulting in drives starting inside the 20 yardline. Sanders, a senior from Largo, Florida, is now a two-time All-MIAA selection on the defensive line. He receives an honorable mention pick this year after finishing sixth on the team in tackles with 42. He led the team in tackles for loss (8.0) and sacks (4.0). He finished his career at FHSU with 87 tackles, including 13 for loss. Heimerman, a senior from Halstead, Kansas, receives the first All-MIAA selection of his career at linebacker. He was on pace for a big year at linebacker, but had his season cut short through five games due to injury. He still managed to finish fifth on the team in tackles despite the injury with 44, reaching double figures in a game twice. He was averaging 8.8 tackles per game this season. 🏈 Tigers land 13 on 2021 All-MIAA football team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Fort Hays State volleyball team placed a trio of student-athletes on the 2021 All-MIAA performer list, with&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6104">Morgan Christiansen</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6208">Claire Olson</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6112">Riley Tinder</a>&nbsp;all earning honorable mention status. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6104">Morgan Christiansen</a>&nbsp;earned her first All-MIAA honor after leading the Tigers with 111 total blocks and an attack percentage of .267. The junior averaged 1.08 blocks per set, ranking third in the conference and in the top 50 across all Division II. INDIANAPOLIS – Fort Hays State returns to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth straight year, the longest streak in the nation, as the No. 6 seed in Super Region 3. By winning the GAC/MIAA Tournament on Sunday, the Tigers elevated in the seeding to avoid playing an opening round matches designated for the No. 7-10 seeds. Instead they have just one match this weekend, playing at No. 3 seed Wisconsin-Parkside in Racine, Wisconsin on Sunday (Nov. 21) at 12 pm. The Tigers were No. 9 in the first two sets of super region rankings released by the NCAA, then went into the conference tournament ranked No. 10 after the third release of the rankings. But by winning the GAC/MIAA Tournament, the Tigers jumped from on the bubble for the 10-team super region bracket to No. 6. The FHSU Men's Soccer program has put together an impressive run in its young history. After falling just short of making the NCAA Tournament in 2011, the program's first year of existence, the Tigers have went on a run of making the NCAA Tournament every season since 2012. The tournament was canceled in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the Tigers have made the national tournament field in nine of 10 championship seasons. The Tigers have won at least 11 matches in every year of the program's existence, excluding the COVID-19 shortened 7-game spring season of 2020-21. If the Tigers get a win on Sunday, they would advance to the Round of 16 which is slated for either December 2 or 3. Site of the Round of 16 and national quarterfinal matches will be determined by results within the super region bracket this weekend. Wisconsin-Parkside was regular season and tournament champion of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). 🏐 Area players named to the KVA all-state teams

The TMP-Marian Monarchs football team had 14 players named
to 18 spots on the 2021 all Mid-Continent League teams after recording their
second straight winning season.

Junior quarterback Kade Harris, senior wide receiver Jace
Wentling and offensive lineman Matthew Hess were all named to the first team
offense.

Harris finished with 2,000 total yards of offense and 19
touchdowns. 

Wentling hauled in a career-high 32 passes for 423 yards and
three touchdowns. Wenting finished with at least one reception in 26 straight
games and 29-of-30 games in three seasons. 

Wentling and Harris were also named to the first team
defense as defensive backs and sophomore Kendall Walker was a first team pick
at defensive tackle.

Harris led the Monarchs with a career-high 115 tackles. He
also finished with 10 tackles for loss.

Wentling also recorded a career-high with 68 tackles and one
interception that was returned for a touchdown.

Walker led TMP with 11 tackles for loss and finished with 52
tackles on the year.

TMP also swept the first team special teams spots. Wentling
was named to the first team as both a kicker and a punter and Harris was named
to the first team as a retuner.

Hess also earned second team all-league honors on the defensive
line. He was joined on the second team by senior linebacker Bryce Seib and offensive
lineman Kolten Hagans.

Sieb also earned honor mention honors at running back and
Walker was named to the honorable mention offensive line.

Senior Mark Rack (wide receiver) and Kenton Ginther (tight
end) were also named to the honorable mention team.

TMP finished the season 8-2 and lost to Kingman in the 2A
state quarterfinals. 

This season marked just the third time a TMP team had advanced
past the first round of the playoffs. It was also the first time since 2002
that a TMP team won a first round and second round playoff game and the eight

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Patrick Mahomes threw five touchdown passes and&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1460092615949533187?s=20" target="_blank">returned to his usual form&nbsp;</a>after a surprisingly shaky stretch this season, and the Kansas City Chiefs moved into first place in the AFC West with a 41-14 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mahomes and the Chiefs (6-4) showed little resemblance to the team that overpowered the AFC the past three seasons over the first nine weeks, raising questions about whether they could make it back to a third straight Super Bowl.

But they used a dominant performance over the Raiders (5-4) on a day everyone else in the division lost to return to the top of the standings.

Mahomes completed three short TD passes before flashing his playmaking brilliance early in the fourth quarter after Kansas City&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1460092968879149062?s=20" target="_blank">converted a fake punt&nbsp;</a>on a 16-yard pass from Tommy Townsend to Marcus Kemp.

Two plays later, Mahomes scrambled away from pressure and just before crossing the line of scrimmage lofted a deep pass across his body that Darrel Williams caught for a 38-yard TD that made it 34-14.

Mahomes added a 22-yarder to Byron Pringle and finished 35 for 50 for 406 yards. He also connected on an&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1460061251468365825?s=20" target="_blank">8-yarder to Tyreek Hill&nbsp;</a>in the first quarter and then 1-yarders to Hill and rookie tight end Noah Gray.

The Raiders have dropped back-to-back games after a promising start to the season as poor execution and off-field issues have done them in.

They won two straight games after coach Jon Gruden resigned following the publication of his old offensive emails but haven't looked the same the past two weeks. Both losses followed the release of Henry Ruggs III, who was charged with felonies in a DUI crash that killed a 23-year-old woman.

Las Vegas has turned the ball over five times the past two weeks, matching the total from the first seven games, and the improved defense was unable to slow down Mahomes.

&nbsp; Derek Carr threw&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/Raiders/status/1460081322605506564?s=20" target="_blank">two TD passes</a>&nbsp;but also had his third interception in the past two weeks and the Raiders were held to 82 yards in the first half, their fewest in a home game in eight years.

The Raiders brought in speedy receiver DeSean Jackson this week to fill the void left by Ruggs' release. Jackson had an inauspicious welcome to Las Vegas. On his first target of the game in the third quarter, Jackson caught a 40-yard pass from Carr. But&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1460086861968326663?s=20" target="_blank">Rashad Fenton knocked the ball out&nbsp;</a>and Tyrann Mathieu recovered.

Instead of the Raiders having a chance to cut into a 10-point deficit, the Chiefs drove for a field goal to make it 27-14.

Punter AJ Cole delivered one of the plays of the first half for the Raiders when he&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/_CassieSoto/status/1460063799923281921?s=20" target="_blank">forced a fumble&nbsp;</a>by returner Mike Hughes that Foster Moreau recovered at midfield.

The Tigers scored the first bucket of the game and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way for the second straight game. FHSU built an 18-point lead by halftime, 35-17, and the lead reached its peak margin of 27 in the second half on a&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6470">Nyjee Wright</a>&nbsp;3-point field goal with 10:37 to play. SWOSU scored the game's final five points to get the margin back inside of 20.

DENVER (AP) — Cornerback Darius Slay&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1460030504296611843?s=20">returned a fumble 82 yards for a touchdown</a>&nbsp;and rookie DeVonta Smith hauled in two TD passes from Jalen Hurts in the Philadelphia Eagles' 30-13 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Eagles (4-6) won for the fourth time on the road and prevented the Broncos (5-5) from sweeping the NFC East teams on their schedule just one week after&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/nfl-sports-dallas-denver-broncos-texas-128792d88bd53bf2b70d2739c8b4773b">Denver dominated Dallas</a>&nbsp;in one of the biggest upsets of the season.

The Broncos had trouble punching it in all afternoon, stalling at the Eagles 3, 10 and 11 before Melvin Gordon III took the handoff on fourth-and-1 from the Eagles 23 with the Broncos trailing 20-13 late in the third quarter. He gained the 2 yards necessary for the first down, but he coughed up the football before going down.

Slay scooped the ball from the pile, reversed direction just in front of his 10-yard line and then zig-zagged his way downfield through a smattering of orange jerseys.

Inexplicably, Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater failed to even attempt a tackle, even a halfhearted one, as Slay ran right past him for the game-sealing score.

The Broncos, 1-20 when trailing at halftime under coach Vic Fangio, frittered away several golden opportunities, among them Albert Okwuegbunam's 64-yard catch-and-run. They stalled at the 3 and settled for a 21-yard field goal by Brandon McManus that tied the game at 10 in the second quarter.

They reached the Eagles 4 on the opening drive of the second half, but McManus' 22-yard attempt was blocked by safety K'Von Wallace, who sliced through the line untouched just like a Dallas defender did on a punt last week.

When the Eagles turned back the Broncos again, this time at the 11, McManus' 28-yarder pulled Denver to 20-13.

Justin Simmons' interception gave Denver the ball at midfield and the chance to tie it. The Broncos again drove deep into Philadelphia territory before Gordon, who scored on a 1-yard run in the first half, fumbled and Slay scooped it and scored.

In the closing minutes, Bridgewater overthrew a wide-open Tim Patrick in the end zone on fourth down.

The Eagles took a 20-10 halftime lead behind Smith's pair of touchdown catches and two of Jake Elliott's three field goals.

With offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur out with a COVID-19 infection, Broncos QBs coach Mike Shula called the offensive plays. The first series was a debacle: a 1-yard run, and a drop and a catch for minus-2 yards on two passes behind the line of scrimmage sandwiched by a field goal and a TD by Philadelphia.

<a href="https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1460002533191995392?s=20">Smith hauled in a 36-yard pass from Hurts</a>&nbsp;with fellow first-round draft pick Patrick Surtain II in tight coverage to put Philadelphia ahead 10-0.

The Broncos responded with Gordon's 1-yard TD run and were on the verge of taking the lead when Okwuegbunam's 64-yard catch-and-run gave Denver first-and-goal at the Eagles 8. But a season-long struggle in goal-to-go situations continued and the Broncos settled for McManus' field goal.

Nothing went Denver's way after that. Philadelphia converted three third downs on a 12-play 75-yard drive capped by Smith's second TD catch that made it 17-10.

The Broncos went three-and-out but buried the Eagles at their 15 with 1:49 remaining in the half. Hurts drove the Eagles downfield and Elliott connected from 52 yards.

After relying heavily on passing the first seven games, the Eagles have emphasized the run the last three weeks. They had 236 yards rushing in a 44-6 win over the Lions and 176 in a 27-24 loss to the Chargers. On Sunday, they ran for 214 yards, led by Jordan Howard's 83 yards on 12 carries.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert left the game with a concussion after an unflagged helmet-to-helmet hit by Simmons on a 24-yard catch that set up the Eagles' first touchdown. Broncos ILB Baron Browning, the team's defensive play caller, injured his back on Denver's second defensive series and didn't return.

Daniels passed for 202 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score. Neal rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns for the Jayhawks, who hadn't won a road game in the Big 12 since 2008. The Jayhawks defense forced four Texas turnovers.

Thompson finished with 358 yards passing with six touchdowns for the Longhorns, who must win their final two games to become bowl eligible.

Kansas hadn't scored more than 33 points in a game this season and rolled up 35 by halftime.

Kansas: The Jayhawks got the huge win the program so desperately needed with cool play from Daniels and bold decision making from Leipold. The Jayhawks had battled Oklahoma close earlier this season only to let that one get away. Getting a win like this on the road can only build momentum for Leipold's long rebuild.

The Tigers built an 11-point halftime lead and went on to win by 12. FHSU moved to 3-0 all-time against Arkansas Tech with the win, now with a win at home, on the road, and at a neutral site.

The Tigers took the lead with 19:10 remaining in the opening half and never looked back. They opened the game on an 11-0 run and then matched Arkansas Tech in points the remainder of the half to lead 34-23 at the break.

The lead grew as large as 15 points in the second half, but Arkansas Tech used a 9-0 run to cut the lead to just six with 13:07 to play. They whittled it down to four with 8:53 to go, but the Tigers used a 6-0 burst to get the lead back to double figures with seven minutes to play. From that point, they were not threatened again. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6462">Bjarni Jonsson</a>&nbsp;provided the Tigers a big start to the season with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams shot adequate, FHSU at 43.1 percent and ATU at 41.7 percent. The Tigers get back to action on Sunday for their second game of the MIAA/GAC Challenge. FHSU takes on Southwestern Oklahoma State at 3 pm. The Bulldogs lost their contest on Saturday with Emporia State by four points, which followed the FHSU game against Arkansas Tech.

MITCHELL, S.D. - The Fort Hays State wrestling team competed in the Dakota Wesleyan Open in on Saturday (Nov. 13) and came home with six individual placers: two third place, one fourth, one fifth, and two sixth. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6580">A.J. Cooper</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6584">Tereus Henry</a>&nbsp;were the two third placers at their respective weights. Cooper (285) won his first match by fall in 3:30. He then worked his way to the semifinals with wins by major decision 13-0, and another fall in 7:00, but was unable to make it any further losing by 10-5 decision in the semis. On the consolation side, he would finish victorious with a 7-0 decision in the consolation semifinals and then taking third place with a forfeit by Neil Hanson of Southwest Minnesota State. Henry would receive a first-round bye before winning by major decision 12-2, and decision 5-1. He would then fall in the semifinals by decision 6-2. Tereus reached the consolation finals by a forfeit and then would pull out the win by decision 6-1 over Jud Kuchera from Nebraska-Kearney. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6594">Marty Verhaeghe</a>&nbsp;would finish in fourth place in the 184 weight class. Verhaeghe fell in the first round by a 12-0 major decision. He worked his way all the way up the backside with a bye in the first consolation round and then wins by fall in 2:01, major decision 11-3, fall in 1:56, and back-to-back decisions, 12-5 and 9-6. Lindsey worked his way up the consolation ladder with wins by fall in 1:53, and three straight decisions: 7-6, 5-2, and 8-7. He fell in the consolation semis by fall in 4:24, but was given fifth place due to a no contest ruling over teammate&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6581">Rhett Edmonson</a>. The final two placers for the Tigers were&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6597">Tom VanValkenburg</a>&nbsp;(125) and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6581">Rhett Edmonson</a>&nbsp;(149) who both finished sixth. VanValkenburg drew a first-round bye before dropping his second match by decision 6-3. He then won four straight, the first three of which were falls in 34 seconds, 1:17, and 34 seconds again, wrapping up with a 4-3 decision. He then fell to the same opponent from earlier by decision 9-5 in the consolation semifinals and finished sixth after reaching the six-match limit. Edmonson won his first match of the day by technical fall 16-0 but then fall in a similar fashion 18-0 in his second match. Similar to VanValkenburg, Edmonson won four straight matches, with three of them being by fall: 46 seconds, 1:20, decision 11-8 and 1:06. He then reached the six-match limit and finished sixth. The Tigers will be back in action as they travel to Kearney, Neb. Next week for the Younes Memorial Open on Saturday (Oct. 20). Action will begin at 9 a.m.

MITCHELL, S.D. - The Fort Hays State wrestling team competed in the Dakota Wesleyan Open in on Saturday (Nov. 13) and came home with six individual placers: two third place, one fourth, one fifth, and two sixth. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6580">A.J. Cooper</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6584">Tereus Henry</a>&nbsp;were the two third placers at their respective weights. Cooper (285) won his first match by fall in 3:30. He then worked his way to the semifinals with wins by major decision 13-0, and another fall in 7:00, but was unable to make it any further losing by 10-5 decision in the semis. On the consolation side, he would finish victorious with a 7-0 decision in the consolation semifinals and then taking third place with a forfeit by Neil Hanson of Southwest Minnesota State. Henry would receive a first-round bye before winning by major decision 12-2, and decision 5-1. He would then fall in the semifinals by decision 6-2. Tereus reached the consolation finals by a forfeit and then would pull out the win by decision 6-1 over Jud Kuchera from Nebraska-Kearney. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6594">Marty Verhaeghe</a>&nbsp;would finish in fourth place in the 184 weight class. Verhaeghe fell in the first round by a 12-0 major decision. He worked his way all the way up the backside with a bye in the first consolation round and then wins by fall in 2:01, major decision 11-3, fall in 1:56, and back-to-back decisions, 12-5 and 9-6. His day ended there after reaching the six-match limit. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6603">Cason Lindsey</a>&nbsp;was the lone fifth place finisher for the Tigers in the 149 bracket as he drew a first-round bye, then fell in the second round by decision 7-6. Lindsey worked his way up the consolation ladder with wins by fall in 1:53, and three straight decisions: 7-6, 5-2, and 8-7. He fell in the consolation semis by fall in 4:24, but was given fifth place due to a no contest ruling over teammate&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6581">Rhett Edmonson</a>. The final two placers for the Tigers were&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6597">Tom VanValkenburg</a>&nbsp;(125) and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6581">Rhett Edmonson</a>&nbsp;(149) who both finished sixth. VanValkenburg drew a first-round bye before dropping his second match by decision 6-3. He then won four straight, the first three of which were falls in 34 seconds, 1:17, and 34 seconds again, wrapping up with a 4-3 decision. He then fell to the same opponent from earlier by decision 9-5 in the consolation semifinals and finished sixth after reaching the six-match limit. Edmonson won his first match of the day by technical fall 16-0 but then fall in a similar fashion 18-0 in his second match. Similar to VanValkenburg, Edmonson won four straight matches, with three of them being by fall: 46 seconds, 1:20, decision 11-8 and 1:06. He then reached the six-match limit and finished sixth.
