⚾ Larks close out regular season with walk-off win

HAYS – Austen Jaslove provided the heroics Wednesday night as the Hays Larks closed out their regular season with a thrilling come-from behind 5-4 win over the Gameday Angels. Jaslove’s two-out single to left scored Jack Torosian with the winning run in a 5-4 victory over the Gameday Angels at Larks Park.

Torosian reached on a fielder’s choice then moved to third on Jackson Halter’s two-out single to right.

The Larks (34-8) took advantage of two hit batters, two walks and an error and scored four runs in the sixth inning to take a 4-3 lead after they had fallen behind 3-0.

Caden Hare (2-1) pitched three scoreless innings of relief and picked up the win.

Halter had three hits and Jaslove drove in two runs.

NBC BOUND

The Larks begin pool play at the NBC World Series Thursday afternoon against the Austin (TX) Shockers. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Hobart-Detter Field. The Larks will continue pool play against either the Seattle (WA) Studs or the Lonestar (TX) Kraken on Saturday and again on Monday.

The top two teams from each of the four pools advance to Wednesday’s quarterfinals at Eck Stadium in Wichita.
