HAYS – Cade Brown homered and starter Sam Hendon didn’t allow a run in four innings as the Hays Larks beat the Gameday Angels 4-3 Tuesday the in their second to last game of the regular season at Larks Park.
Brown opened the game with a second inning RBI single to put the Larks up 1-0.
The Larks (33-8, 23-4 RMBL) added single runs in the third, fourth and seventh, on Brown’s sixth homerun of the summer on their way to the one-run win.
Sam Hendon didn’t allow a run with four strikeouts in four innings for the win and longtime Larks standout Wyatt Divis returned for a perfect ninth, with a pair of strikeouts for his first save of the year.
The Larks and Gameday will close out the regular season Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Larks Park.
The Larks begin play Thursday again Austin at 3 p.m. at the NBC World Series in Hutchinson.
