Raymond “Ray” August Rumpel was born September 1, 1940, at the Osborn Hospital in WaKeeney. He was the oldest child born to August John and Mary Ann (Mumert) Rumpel. He passed away at Trego County Lemke Hospital Long Term Care on September 22, 2021, just 21 days past his 81st birthday.

On August 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Evea Higgins at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Ness City. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in WaKeeney until its closing December 31, 2020.&nbsp;

Ray attended Bosna country grade school all eight grades. He attended Trego Community High School graduating in 1959.&nbsp; He farmed with his dad as a young man. He started mechanic work at Jamison Motor Co, then at M &amp; B Chevrolet before working at Western Cooperative Electric in December 1968 retiring on September 3, 2002. After his retirement he used his bucket truck to cut trees, hang signs, wiring and other things that could not be reached safely with a ladder.

Ray was a “Fair” person beginning as a youth in 4-H, then as a superintendent when his children were in 4-H and exhibited livestock, then as a Fair Board member for more than 20 years.&nbsp; He was “Mr. Fix it” whenever things needed repair he was called upon.&nbsp; He was inducted into the Kansas Fairs and Festivals Association Hall of Fame Jan 6, 2006. He served as an extension board member of the Golden Prairie Extension District thru 2019. He was honored as Grand Marshall in the fair parade in August 2013.

He was a serving as a Board of Director of the Northwest Kansas Agency on Aging and Trego County Fair Board member at the time of his death.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was a volunteer at the Trego County Senior Center helping with the distribution of meals on wheels for several years. He was a charter member of the WaKeeney Eagles.

Survivors are his wife Evea, of the home; daughter Lynette Rumpel (Lonnie Werth) of Hays; son Aaron Rumpel of WaKeeney; brothers Carroll “C.J.” (Debbie) of Murrietta, CA and Dwight (Sharon) of Topeka; sister Maryetta Morrissey (Bill) of Russellville, AR; grandchildren Chantee Jordan (Grant Holland) of Austin, TX, Carey Jordan (Mayce Deuel) of Schoenchen, KS, Kourtney (Skyler) Talkington of Ellis, KS; great grandchildren Samantha Rude, Jordan Holland, Hunter, Kymber and Briar Talkington; brother-in-law Jim (Charlene) Higgins, of Ness City; and sisters-in-law Milly Rumpel, Ontario, OR, Ida (John Meyeres) Bazine, KS.

Dorothy L. Mitchell, 94, of Alton, KS passed away on Saturday 
September 18, 2021 at Parkview Care Center in&nbsp;Osborne, KS. &nbsp;She was born
 on June 23, 1927 to Roy &amp; Josephine (Charleville) Mitchell of 
Mitchell,&nbsp;Illinois.

Dorothy graduated from high school and graduated from college. &nbsp;She 
was a Physical Education teacher for 32 years at the Granite City High 
School in Granite City, Illinois. &nbsp;She attended the First Presbyterian 
Church.

&nbsp;In 2009, Dorothy moved to Alton, KS to be near&nbsp;family. &nbsp;She helped 
with the local library in Alton and&nbsp;enjoyed participating in quilting 
with the ladies at the church in Alton.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and is&nbsp;survived by a niece, Mary Hartzler, of Alton, KS.

Leroy E. Weathers, 87, passed away September 23, 2021, at Hospice 
House, Hutchinson. He was born on December 2, 1933, at Great Bend, to 
George Edward &amp; Edith Marie (Erbe) Weathers. He married Juanita Eva 
Richter September 22, 1957 at Great Bend.&nbsp; She died January 31, 2018.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Leroy started as a serviceman for 
Centel in 1960, eventually retiring in 1995 as the Divisional Customer 
Service Supervisor. He was a member of First Congregational United 
Church of Christ and Kiwanis. He held past memberships with Pawnee 
Valley Scout Museum, board of directors for Great Bend Economic 
Development Commission, 4-H club of Great Bend, Boy Scouts of America 
leader, a former member and past president of Great Bend Chamber of 
Commerce, past chairman of the 3i Show, and the Ambassador's Club. He 
served in the United States Army stationed in Germany, obtaining the 
rank of Master Sergeant.

Survivors include, two sons, Ron Weathers and wife Lisa of Great 
Bend, and Terry Weathers and wife Sara of Hutchinson; a brother, Larry 
Weathers and wife Deanne of Great Bend; five grandchildren, Kristopher 
Weathers, Korbin Weathers, Emily Reed and husband Tyler, Erin Givens and
 husband Kassidy, and Michaela Weathers; and nine great grandchildren, 
Nicholas, Mason, Payton, Hunter, Dallas John, Jensen, Cooper and Cohen. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Juanita Weathers.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, 
September 27, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 
at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at First Congregational 
United Church of Christ in Great Bend, with Pastor Michael Munz 
presiding. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery, with Military Rites
 conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Delaine Mary Quam, age 88, of Austin, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021, with her daughter by her side.

Dee was born August 15, 1933, in Hays, Kansas, to Albert
 and Albina (Riedel) Werth.&nbsp; She grew up in Arvada, Colorado and 
graduated from Arvada High School.

While attending a New Year’s Eve party, Dee met Dale 
Quam, the love of her life.&nbsp; After a one year courtship, the couple was 
married on February 5, 1955 and moved to Austin, Minnesota to begin 
their life together.

Dee began her working career at the Federal Reserve 
Bank in Denver, Colorado.&nbsp; After the move to Austin, she worked at 
Sterling State Bank.&nbsp; Taking time off to start a family, she eventually 
returned to the work force, landing at the Austin Daily Herald.&nbsp; Dee was
 a well known fixture at the Herald where she spent 44 years balancing 
books, appeasing customers, and keeping paper boys in line.&nbsp; As a 
sideline, she also delivered newspapers to various living complexes in 
town.&nbsp; Unable to stay away from the public, she returned to work as a 
food demonstrator at HyVee for several years.

Dee was a unique mix of German pride and stubbornness,
 spunk, and an unparalleled sense of humor.&nbsp; There was never a social 
function she didn’t enjoy.&nbsp; Polka dancing, gardening, bingo, shopping 
trips with family, adventures with her friends Randy and Sue were some 
of her hobbies.&nbsp; Dee’s life was her family.&nbsp; She loved celebrating 
holidays with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities.&nbsp; 
Dee was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Cheryl) Quam, 
Grand Rapids, MI, Douglas (Rebecca) Quam, Mankato, MN; daughter, Debra 
(William) Vietor, Austin, MN; 10 grandchildren, Betsy, Audra, Ian, 
Olivia, Nathaniel, Michaela, Lindsay, Jordan, Matthew, and Jessica; 6 
great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (John) Lamb, Lilburn, GA, Deloris 
Midgley, Andalusia, AL; brother-in-law, Richard (Sue) Quam, Austin, MN; 
numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Randy and Sue Kapaun, 
Albert Lea, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, 
Dale; 2 brothers; a sister; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Although we know that Dee is jubilantly dancing the 
polka in heaven, she leaves behind a lasting legacy in the many lives 
she touched.&nbsp; She will lovingly live on in her children, grandchildren,

September 27, 2021, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father James

Lathelda “DoDo” White, 93, passed away September 23, 2021, at 
Brookdale Senior Living, Great Bend. She was born December 10, 1927, at 
Hoisington, to Harry and Nettie (Jones) Lee. She married Leonard "Sno" 
White on June 9, 1946, at Hoisington.&nbsp; He died April 23, 2005.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, DoDo was the records manager at the 
Barton County Courthouse until she retired. She was a member of First 
United Methodist Church and served at the church librarian and 
historian. DoDo also held memberships with the Order of Eastern Star for
 50 years, Barton County Historical Society, Fort Larned Chapter of 
Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Auxiliary in Great
 Bend, RSVP and Friends of the Library, and was a past board member for 
the library in Great Bend. She loved genealogy, researching history and 
was an avid bridge player.

Survivors include, a sister, Diann Fullerton of Yuma, Ariz.; her 
nephews, Todd Jones and wife Candace of Great Bend, Brent Jones and wife
 Cheryl of Manhattan, Lance Jones of Boulder, Colo., Dierk Haskin and 
wife Cheryl of Santa Fe, NM; and a niece, Rachel Cross of Salt Lake 
City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, 
Leonard White; a sister, Glynnese Jones; two brother in laws, Cecil 
Jones and Don Fullerton; and a niece, Mary Jones.

Patricia “Pat” Kistler, age 81, of Ulysses, Kansas, passed away Tuesday,
 September 22, 2021, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. 
She was born April 18, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of George 
Russell and Georgia May (Miller) Shane. 
Pat attended grade school in Elkhart and Dodge City; graduating high 
school from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School in Windthorst, 
Kansas. She continued her education at Emporia State University where 
she earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. Pat married 
Ken Kistler on June 30, 1989 in Ulysses, Kansas. Pat taught Art at 
Kepley Middle School for 22 years. She was very creative and had painted
 murals at Joyce School as well as Kepley Middle School. She also 
sponsored Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 10 years. Pat enjoyed 
bike riding, walking, running, gardening, fashion, drama, theatre and 
vocal performances. She loved her grandkids very much and attended their
 school activities local and far away. She enjoyed making ceramics and 
had a potter’s wheel and kiln. Pat spent numerous hours in her yard 
tending to her garden and flowers. She was active in Women’s Bible and 
Prayer groups, was a member of Rose Lane Church of God and Gideon’s 
International. 
Pat is survived by her husband Ken of their home; children, Danny

 </figure>Patricia “Pat” Kistler, age 81, of Ulysses, Kansas, passed away Tuesday,
 September 22, 2021, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. 
She was born April 18, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of George 
Russell and Georgia May (Miller) Shane. 
Pat attended grade school in Elkhart and Dodge City; graduating high 
school from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School in Windthorst, 
Kansas. She continued her education at Emporia State University where 
she earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. Pat married 
Ken Kistler on June 30, 1989 in Ulysses, Kansas. Pat taught Art at 
Kepley Middle School for 22 years. She was very creative and had painted
 murals at Joyce School as well as Kepley Middle School. She also 
sponsored Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 10 years. Pat enjoyed 
bike riding, walking, running, gardening, fashion, drama, theatre and 
vocal performances. She loved her grandkids very much and attended their
 school activities local and far away. She enjoyed making ceramics and 
had a potter’s wheel and kiln. Pat spent numerous hours in her yard 
tending to her garden and flowers. She was active in Women’s Bible and 
Prayer groups, was a member of Rose Lane Church of God and Gideon’s 
International. 
Pat is survived by her husband Ken of their home; children, Danny 
Hawkins and wife Rita of Newton, Kansas, Dana Hawkins-Simons and husband
 John of Montclair, New Jersey, Marcy Stringham and husband Kyle of 
Ulysses, Kansas; step-children, Shelana Corrigan and husband Eddie of

She was a Para Educator, and a Teacher’s Assistant for over 13 years with the Hays 498 School District at Wilson School, and Early Childhood Connections.&nbsp; She grew up in&nbsp; Hugoton, Kansas and was a 1997 graduate of Hugoton High School.&nbsp; She received her Associate Degree in 2019 from Hutchinson Community College.&nbsp; She enjoyed cooking. music, dancing, fishing, camping, kayaking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Taya D. Randle, Manhattan, KS; Amedee B. Randle and Cyran R. Randle, both of Hays, KS; her father, David L. Tianna Dawnae Bays-Broils, 44, of Russell, Kansas, passed away 
Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Research Medical Center in Kansas 
City, Missouri.

Tianna was born June 9, 1977, in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; She was the 
daughter of Henry and Shayne (Humes) Reinhardt.&nbsp; She grew up and 
attended schools in Russell and graduated from Hays High School.&nbsp; She 
attended the NCK Technical College where she was licensed as a CNA and 
CMA.

Tianna enjoyed working in the medical field for several years until 
she became a stay at home mother for Zayden. She enjoyed scrapbooking, 
thrift stores, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an
 incredibly caring person with a strong faith and a big heart for 
whoever she met. She would do anything for anyone, and she never judged,
 only loved.

Surviving family include her two children; Brandon Bays-Broils and 
Zayden Reinhardt both of Russell, Kansas; father, Henry Reinhardt 
(Sylvia) of Russell, Kansas; brothers, Shawn Evans (Sara) of Russell, 
Kansas, and Scott Evans of Russell, Kansas; sister, Kelsi Hedger (Joe) 
of Enid, Oklahoma.

Tianna was preceded in death by her mother, Shayne Barnes, stepfather
 Gary Barnes, nephew Cael Evans, grandparents Martin and Clarice 
Reinhardt and Vaughn and Donna Humes. 

A Celebration of Tianna’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday September 27th
 at the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held 
from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, with 
the family present to greet friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.&nbsp;

Donna Blatcher, 71, Salina, KS passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, as a result of multiple health issues.

Donna was born on Oct. 11, 1949, in Stockton, KS to the late Lester 
and Vera Rudman. She graduated from Palco High School in 1967.

She was married to the love of her life the late Grady Blatcher on 
Sept. 7, 1976, in Windsor, CO where they lived until moving to Salina in 
1994.

She loved being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, 
Sister and Aunt. She loved her family more than life. She was also an 
avid board member and coach for the SCARC "Blue Thunder"&nbsp; Special 
Olympics team for several years and cherished every moment.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Amanda Blatcher (Aaron), and 
Kristen Blatcher of Salina, two grandchildren, Shauna Blatcher (Matt) 
and Dustyn McKee (MyKyla), six great-grandchildren, Cayden English, 
Brycen English, Aleeya English, Alayna English, Ezra Brown and Brayden 
McKee, also brothers, Bob (Linda) Rudman, Kent (Barb) Rudman, Mike 
(Patty) Rudman, Rod (Jane) Rudman, Ronnie (Pam) Rudman and sister, Cathy
 (Mort) Sherfick and also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Blatcher, parents, 
Lester and Vera Rudman, brother, Dan Rudman and sister, Patty Williams.

Donna will forever be missed but always in our hearts.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, at Ryan Mortuary.

Sister Charlotte Unrein, 90, died September 22, 2021, in the 
Dominican Sisters’ convent infirmary, Great Bend. She was born March 31,
 1931, in La Crosse, KS, the daughter of Carl and Lidwina (Zimmerman) 
Unrein. She entered the Dominican Sisters Community in 1945 and 
pronounced vows in 1948. Sister Charlotte celebrated seventy years of 
religious profession in 2018.

Sister Charlotte ministered in a variety of different ways. She began
 doing domestic work, and then she was sent to Nigeria as one of the 
original three missionaries to go there. After five years in Africa she 
returned to Great Bend, where she was in charge of the sewing room. She 
then earned a degree in nursing and worked in Garden City and Salina. 
When she returned to the motherhouse in 2008, she took up her work of 
making jellies and other items for the annual bazar.

Sister Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, 
and four brothers. She is survived by one brother, Timothy Unrein, 
Ocala, FL; several nieces and nephews; as well as the Dominican Sisters 
of Peace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 
27, 2021. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday, September 26, at 7:00 
p.m. Both will take place at the Sisters’ Convent. All attendees are 
asked to wear a mask. Burial will be in the Sisters’ Resurrection 
Cemetery.

Andrew Francis Heimann, 30, Hays, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in rural Ellis County.

He was born July 6, 1991, in Shawnee, 
the son of Bill and Teresa (Becker) Heimann.&nbsp; He was a 2010 graduate of 
TMP-M High School and earned his Registered Nursing degree from NCK-Tech
 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; 
Andrew worked as a surgical nurse with the heart team at HaysMed.&nbsp; On 
August 3, 2013 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth A. Reifschneider 
in Hutchinson.&nbsp; His memberships included St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic 
Church and the St. Nicholas of Myra Knights of Columbus. &nbsp;He enjoyed 
recreational sports, working out at the gym, music, playing his guitar, 
and was an avid KC Chiefs and Royals fan.&nbsp; Andrew enjoyed woodworking 
and home improvement and especially loved being outdoors with his son 
Eli, fishing, and hunting.&nbsp;

August 3, 2013 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth A. Reifschneider

Church and the St. Nicholas of Myra Knights of Columbus. &nbsp;He enjoyed 
recreational sports, working out at the gym, music, playing his guitar, 
and was an avid KC Chiefs and Royals fan.&nbsp; Andrew enjoyed woodworking 
and home improvement and especially loved being outdoors with his son 
Eli, fishing, and hunting.&nbsp;Survivors include his wife Elizabeth of

Texoma, Texas. He was born on October 20, 1988 at Garden City the son of David Crouch &amp; Lisa Morgan. 
Cody attended Garden City schools. He has lived in Texoma since 2014 and worked construction on buildings and custom furniture. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter, and his dog- Bobo, woodworking, cooking, fishing, riding his motorcycle and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.

Deb was born March 17, 1959, in Hays, KS to Gilbert J. and Mary Ann (Pfannenstiel) Schmeidler. She was a graduate of Hays High School class of 1977.&nbsp; Following graduation she worked in the optical field, the last 25 years being an optician with Dr. Kendall Krug of Hays.

She enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards, bowling with friends, as well as polka and square dancing.

Survivors include her brother: Terry Schmeidler (Carla Kriley) of Walker, KS; sister: Kay (Dave) Kruse of Hays, KS; nieces and nephews: Lance Schmeidler, Lynn Baxter, Lacey White, Tyler Kruse, and Breanne Williamson;&nbsp;great nieces and nephews: Landon Schmeidler, Remi Schmeidler, Melanie Kruse and Levi Kruse.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patricia Lynn "Pat" Houser Wimmer 78, died September 10, 2021, at 
Ascension Via Christi St. Francis hospital in Wichita.&nbsp; She was born 
September 6, 1943, in Hays, Kansas, to Harry Vernon (Buck) and Carmen 
Leona (Love) Houser.

Her young childhood was spend in Hays. She and her family moved to El
 Dorado, Kansas in 1954.&nbsp; She attended Eldorado Schools graduating in 
1961.&nbsp; She attended El Dorado Junior College and worked at Montgomery 
Wards.&nbsp; It was during this time she met and fell in love with the love 
of her life, Jim Wimmer.

Pat and Jim were married February 14, 1965 in El Dorado, Kansas.&nbsp; 
They relocated to Newton in 1966 and Newton remained her home until her 
death.&nbsp; She worked for KOEZ radio station, Youthville and volunteered at
 the Newton Medical Center Gift Shop.&nbsp; She was also active in many civic
 and volunteer organizations in the community.&nbsp; She loved reading and 
caring for her cats and beloved husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp; She is survived by her 
husband of 56 years Jim, her brother Jim (Deena) Houser; &nbsp;nephews Travis
 (Amy) Houser; Casey Houser; Britt (Ashley) Houser; Coby (Jeni) Houser 
and great nieces and nephews Sophia, Sadie, Charli, Davis, Knox and 
Phoenix.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at a later date. A register

High School in 1968.&nbsp; On July 26, 1975, he was united in marriage to 
Alice Marie Gross in Miami, Oklahoma, and they celebrated 46 years of 
marriage.&nbsp; Gary was a UPS driver for 39 years and also a driver for The 
Hays Daily News, Hess Services, and the U.S. Postal Service.&nbsp; After his 
retirement, he worked as a cemetery caretaker for the City of Hays.&nbsp; He 
enjoyed doing paperwork on his computer and mowing his and his 
neighbors’ lawns.

Gary is survived by his wife: Alice, a 
step-son: Howard Krug of Hays, four sisters: Doris Dinkel of Hays, 
Rozine Lambertson and husband Harry of Hays, Barbara McCauley of Topeka,
 and Debbie Bohm and husband Tom of Hays, and numerous nieces, nephews,

Norton resident Joe E. Ballinger passed away Sept. 20, 2021, at the 
Andbe Home in Norton at the age of 88.&nbsp; He was born May 1, 1933, in 
Norton, the son of Guy &amp; Bernice (McCrea) Ballinger.

Survivors include his wife Pamela of Norton; his daughter, Pamela 
Vela of Converse, TX; step-daughter, Michelle Prewo of Logan; 2 
step-sons, Aaron Stoney of McCook, NE &amp; Keith Stoney of Manhattan,

LaNora “Lonnie” Barnes, 86, of Great Bend, passed away September 20, 
2021, at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. She was born March 28,
 1935, in Great Bend, the second daughter of four children born to Gus 
and Christina (Cook) Ohnmacht. She grew up on a farm near Olmitz. She 
married George Barnes on August 30, 1958, in Oklahoma City. He died on 
March 17, 1981.

LaNora attended grade school at St. Anne’s in Olmitz and high school 
at Mount Carmel Academy in Wichita. In 1957 she graduated with a 
Bachelor’s degree from Clarke College, now Clark University in Dubuque, 
Iowa. The following year she completed a dietetic internship at Oklahoma
 University Medical Center at the end of which she became a registered 
dietician.

LaNora and George resided in the Bay Area near San Francisco their 
entire married life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and loving 
grandmother and a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed baking, especially 
homemade breads and pies. When her children were older she worked part 
time as a registered dietician and later as a real estate broker in 
California. She came back to Kansas in 1988 to take care of her mother. 
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic 
Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include, two daughters, Dr. Debra Barnes of Frederick, MD, 
and Diane Da Costa of Darnestown, MD; and four grandsons, Jason, Justin,
 David and Daniel Da Costa. She was preceded in death by her parents; 
her husband, George Barnes; a brother, Galen Ohnmacht; and two sisters, 
Christina Hoelscher and LaVerna Moore.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, 
September 24, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society rosary at
 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., 
Saturday, September 25, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great 
Bend, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Interment will be in 
the Great Bend Cemetery.

 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., 
Saturday, September 25, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great 
Bend, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Interment will be in 
the Great Bend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been 
designated to the Holy Family School Endowment Fund, St. Jude Children’s
 Research Hospital or Barton County Food Bank, in care of Bryant Funeral

LaNora 'Lonnie' Barnes

Stephen Wayne Schrepel, 64, died September 20, 2021, at his home in 
Hoisington. He was born June 22, 1957, in Hays, Kansas, the son of 
Leslie Charles and Carol Louise (Kimball) Schrepel.&nbsp; Stephen graduated 
from Ellinwood High School in 1976 and attended Barton Community 
College.

On March 12, 1978, he married Myrna Gwen Curry at the First United 
Methodist Church in Great Bend.&nbsp; They later divorced.&nbsp; He then married 
Lynette Radenberg in Hoisington, Kansas and they later divorced.

A longtime Hoisington resident, coming from Medicine Lodge, Stephen 
worked for the Larned State Hospital.&nbsp; He formerly worked for Essex and 
the Clara Barton Hospital. He was a past Boy Scout Leader and a member 
of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.&nbsp; He served on the Hoisington City Council 
and as a Hoisington Volunteer Firefighter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, 
and woodworking, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his three children; Chadd Schrepel and wife Erin of
 Gardner, Todd Schrepel and Angela Schrepel, both of Hoisington; a 
sister, Vickie Bahr and husband Bill of Arkansas; two brothers, Terry 
Schrepel and wife Terri of Buellton, California, and Mark Schrepel and 
wife Meleah of Goddard; and two grandchildren, Wyatt and Callie 
Schrepel.

Visitation will be 1 – 8 p.m., Sunday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2021, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Ron Bailey presiding.

Donald Ray “Don” Farmer, 53, of Russell, Kansas and formerly of 
Colorado, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Pratt 
Regional Medical Center in Pratt, Kansas.

Don was born July 11, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio.&nbsp; He was the son of 
Ron, Sr., and Dianne (Vaughn) Farmer.&nbsp; He grew up in Ohio and graduated 
from Mt. Healthy High School in Mt. Healthy, Ohio.

Don served his country in the U.S. Army.&nbsp; He was injured during active duty and was honorably discharged as a Disabled Veteran.

Don was united in marriage to Deon Cochran on May 15, 2005, in 
Divide, Colorado.&nbsp; They made their home in Florissant, Colorado for 
several years then later moved to Victor, Colorado.&nbsp; Most recently they 
lived in Aurora, Colorado before moving to Russell, Kansas in 2020.

Don mainly worked in the Security business.&nbsp; He worked as a Security 
Officer and Casino Manager in the Casinos of Cripple Creek, Colorado. 
Prior to leaving Colorado, Don worked as an armed guard at the Arapahoe 
County Court House.&nbsp; He attended the Olive Branch Church of Russell.&nbsp; 
Don was an outdoors man who enjoyed guns, target shooting, fishing, 
camping, and hiking.&nbsp; His greatest joy was his family.&nbsp; He was a very 
loving and protective husband, father and grandfather.

Don’s surviving family include his wife of 16 years, Deon of Russell,
 Kansas; five children, Evan McCue (Kristine) of Randolph, Vermont, Sean
 McCue (Rachel) of Eldersburg, Maryland, Donnie Farmer, Jr. of Russell, 
Kansas, Sarah Farmer of Hutchinson, Kansas and Justin Farmer of Canon 
City, Colorado; his mother, Dianne Farmer of Sunman, Indiana; brothers, 
Ron Farmer, Jr. of Divide, Colorado and Herb Farmer of Sunman, Indiana; 
and six grandchildren that called grandpa “Bagu”, Leah, Natalie, Ronin, 
Aurora, Joey and Brogen.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his father.

Don’s family selected cremation and a Memorial Service will be held

Donald E. Billinger, 68, Trinidad, Colorado, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

&nbsp;He was born June 1, 1950, to Edmund J. and Marie (Bode) Billinger and raised in Victoria.&nbsp;

He
 married Kathy (Newland) on July 17, 1971. He was a boy scout and was 
able to travel the U.S. with his troop, even visiting the World’s Fair. 
He was an altar boy at St. Fidelis Basilica. He was a U.S. Army reserves
 veteran where he reached the rank of Sergeant.

He
 enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and bird watching. He 
could fix almost anything and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He was a 
rock to his family and enjoyed talking and telling stories.

Survivors
 include his wife of 47 ½ years; two sons, Shawn and wife, Jacquie and 
Brad and wife, Connie; a daughter, Tonya; three sisters, Linda and 
husband, Mike, Joyce and husband, Henry and Jeanette and husband, Ernie;
 seven grandchildren, Cheyenne, Colten, Macey, Meah, Brian, Clara, 
Camron and a great-grandson, Jayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Marie; a sister, Rosemarie; a brother, Leroy; and a brother-in-law, Pappy.
