Floyd Blackwill Jr., age 60, passed away on March 1, 2022,
 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo. He was born on Feb. 3, 
1962, in WaKeeney, KS, the son of Floyd, Sr., and Margaret (Brown) 
Blackwill of Quinter, KS.&nbsp; On July 16, 1982, he married Jill Goodheart 
in Quinter, KS. He was a resident of Quinter, KS from birth. He drove 
for Blackwill &amp; Sons Trucking for over 20 years then moved to the 
farm where he was a farmer/rancher.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jr was a devoted, loving husband, father, and Papa. He 
truly loved traveling and spending the latter years of his life on the 
beach with his wife or at the lake with family and friends.&nbsp; He loved 
watching his grandkids’ activities and treasured all the trips to Mexico
 with them.&nbsp; He was a social butterfly and enjoyed spending time with 
the ones he cherished.

Survivors include his wife, Jill of the home; two sons, 
Trevor (Katie) Blackwill, Quinter, KS., Trent Blackwill, Shawnee, KS.; 3
 grandchildren, Braelyn (12), Easton (11), and Tripp (4) (Trevor); 
father, Floyd Blackwill, Sr., Parump, NV; 5 brothers, Keith (Melesia) 
Blackwill, Hobbs, NM, Tom (Terra) Blackwill, Quinter, KS., Terry 
(Shawna) Blackwill, Norton, KS., Forrest (Amanda) Bradford, Nashville,

Gene Wesley Preston, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 
the Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas. He was born on May 2, 
1937, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Glen Wesley and Gladys Irene Bonner 
Preston. Gene was a resident of Tribune since 1966, having moved from 
Colorado Springs, Colorado, to engage in ranching and operating feedlots.

On December 16, 1959, Gene married Geraldine Royce Oliver in Denver, Colorado. She survives.

Survivors include, his wife, Geraldine Preston of Tribune, Kansas, 
four daughters;&nbsp;Dee Anna &amp; Brad Schneider of Tribune, Kansas, 
Synthia Preston of Garden City, Kansas, Sabra &amp; David Dickey of 
Sidney, Nebraska, Pamela &amp; Brian Schneider of Tribune, Kansas, one 
son, Gene Preston II of Tribune, Kansas, two sisters; Joyce Waldron of 
Brandon, Florida, Patty Leary of Topeka, Kansas, two brothers; Jerry 
Preston of Topeka, Kansas, Paul Preston of Alma, Kansas, twelve 
grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy Preston, 
two sisters; Glenda Rudisill, Rochelle Moreland, and one granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 10:30 
A.M. (MST) at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with pastor
 Jerri Farmer-Smith presiding.

Gene Wesley Preston

Virginia was born April 13, 1923, in Sharon Springs. Kansas and died 
there on March 2, 2022. She was a resident of Wallace County Community 
Care Center for the last several years. The family wishes to thank John 
Kennedy and his staff for the tremendous care she received, especially 
considering the recent challenges from COVID and staff shortages.

Virginia was born to Howard and Nina Bates, following a brother 
(Warren), and in 1930, the family moved to a farm south of Sharon 
Springs. They survived the “Dirty 30’s” and moved back into town in 
1944. She had attended WCHS and graduated in 1940 as valedictorian of 
her class. She attended Hutchinson Business School for a short time and 
returned home to work as an assistant cashier at the People’s State 
Bank.

On October 2, 1946, Virginia married Charles “Irish” McNerny. They 
had two children, Nancy and Matt. They lived on Ferlen Avenue from 1948.
 Virginia belonged to the United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer 
many years. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She worked again
 at the Peoples State Bank in the 1960s and 1970s.

Virginia is survived by her son Matt (Michele) of Denver, CO and 
daughter Nancy Wells (Bill) of Helena, MT; two grandchildren: Jennifer 
Wampler (Terry) of Alta, Wyoming and Eric Wells (Emily) of Boise, Idaho;
 two great grandchildren: Charlie and Henry Wells of Boise; and many 
nephews and nieces and their families.&nbsp; Ione McNerny Brown of Sharon 
Springs was Virginia’s high school classmate and sister-in-law and 
friend for over 85 years. 

Virginia will be buried next to Irish in the 
Sharon Springs Cemetery.

Virginia Louise (Bates) McNerny

Kyle Clinton Diehl, 30, Liebenthal, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

Kyle was born December 19, 1991, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Karen 
Matal and Kevin Diehl. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, 
Kansas, graduating from La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, in 
2010.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas.

Kyle had a true zest for life. He took advantage of any opportunity 
to celebrate with those he loved. He even invented a few new holidays of
 his own that the family celebrates faithfully. Kyle was a 
jack-of-all-trades, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in 
need. He would light up the sky on the Fourth of July for the entire 
town to enjoy. Kyle loved to tinker and fix things. He was constantly 
taking things apart to see what made them work, and then putting them 
back together. He dedicated countless hours to mentoring his nieces and 
nephews, teaching them how to work on cars, fix things around the house,
 and complete various school and 4-H projects.

Survivors include: his mother, Karen Matal (Randy Conrad), and 
beloved puppy, Sophia, Liebenthal, Kansas; his father, Kevin Diehl, 
Bison, Kansas; his special friend, Andi Dry, Wellington, Kansas; two 
sisters, Kristi Reever, Bison, Kansas, and Kayla Diehl (John 
Meierdierks), Hays, Kansas; his grandmother, Barbara Matal; aunts and 
uncles; seven nieces and nephews, Ethan, Brooks, Marissa, Payton, 
Delilah, Brody &amp; Tyr; also two step sisters, Ava North (Travis), 
McCracken, Kansas, and Ashley Toliver, St. Louis, Missouri; one step 
brother, Thomas (Ali) Moeder, Wichita, Kansas; his step mother, Cynthia

Allen Wayne Thompson, 61, passed away on March 4, 2022, at home in 
Great Bend, Kansas. He was born on July 24, 1960, in Great Bend, Kansas,
 to Kenneth &amp; Constance “Connie” (Denney) Thompson.

A life-time resident of Great Bend, Allen worked as a manager at Zip Stop. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music.

Survivors include his father; a brother, Steven Thompson of Great 
Bend; a sister, Terri (Ken) Fritz, of Great Bend; nieces, Kristy 
Creamer, Misty Skinner, Julie Thompson, and Chelsey Varela; and nephews,
 Charley Fritz, Keith Fritz, and Douglas Ferguson. He is preceded in 
death by his mother and a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Daryl 
Ferguson.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A family service will be set for a later date.

Derek Dean Stortzum, 29, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away February 26, 2022.&nbsp;Derek, "Deano" or "D" to some, was born July 9, 1992 to Lesalene Pompell (Rumery) and Devin&nbsp;Stortzum in Denver, Co.

He was a standout in school, having good grades, and in his early years was a pitcher in baseball.&nbsp;At 16, and of course crazy about horses, Derek applied for his gallops license and started his&nbsp;career as an outstanding horseman. Then, he began his travels all over the country to gallop and&nbsp;train horses.&nbsp;After being out of school, he was able to earn his GED, and was always determined to do the&nbsp;best, no matter what it was, and could accomplish anything he set his mind to.&nbsp;Derek was loved by everyone who met him. A father that loved his child to the moon and back;&nbsp;Channing
 meant everything to Derek. He leaves a huge hole in all of our hearts. 
Derek was always joking, laughing, and the life of any party; everyone 
has a funny or crazy story with Derek.

Derek is survived by: His son, Channing
 Dean; father &amp; step mother, Devin &amp; Angela Stortzum; mother 
&amp; step father, Thomas &amp; Lesalene Pompell; brother, Justin 
Stortzum; grandmother, Donna Stortzum; sister, Ashleigh (Shay) Hayman;

Merle S. Tuttle, 77, Salina, KS passed away at Salina Regional Health 
Center on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Merle was proceeded in death by his 
father Donald S. Tuttle and Mother Vera W. Tuttle. Merle is survived by
 his wife of 57 years, Kathyrn A. Tuttle of Salina, brother D. Eugene 
Tuttle of Lucas, Kansas, daughter Lisa L. Goodwin and son-in-law Shane

 Merle Sidney Tuttle was born to Donald S. Tuttle and Vera W. Tuttle 
on Christmas day December 25, 1944, in Lucas, Kansas. Merle was a 
lively young boy who enjoyed his adventures with his big brother Gene 
and directly contributing to the success of his father Don's farm 
through hard work and dedication. He also enjoyed helping his mother 
Vera with various tasks around the home, tending to the chickens, 
milking cattle, and keeping up with the garden. Merle was active in all
 sports including baseball, football, and track. He graduated from 
Hunter High School and went on to attend Brown Mackie college in Salina 
where he met the love of his life Kathy Sweany.
 Merle and Kathy were married in Manhattan, Kansas on July 26, 1964. 
 They established their first home together in Lindsborg, Kansas, where 
Merle worked at the local lumber yard. On November 19, 1965, Merle 
enlisted in the Army National Guard and honorably served his country 
through November 18, 1971. Upon his honorable discharge, Merle and 
Kathy established a home in Beloit, Kansas. During their time in 
Beloit, Merle and Kathy welcomed their beloved children Lisa, Janelle, 
and Rex into the world. Merle was the manager of the lumber yard in 
Beloit during their whole time there. He was an avid bowler, and the 
entire family enjoyed many weekends at Glen Elder Lake as well as 
numerous family vacations around the country.
 From Beloit, Merle and Kathy moved their family to Eureka, Kansas 
where Merle was also the manager over the lumber yard in the town. 
After a couple of years, Merle and Kathy then moved their family to 
Pretty Prairie, Kansas where he again managed the lumber yard. During 
their time in Pretty Prairie, the family was very active in 4-H and made
 a lot of wonderful memories with their children while showing livestock
 at the county and state fairs in Hutchinson, Kansas. From Pretty 
Prairie, Merle and Kathy made their move to Salina, Kansas where they 
finished raising their family. Merle worked for Louisiana Pacific as 
materials buyer and then held various other positions primarily 
associated with the building materials industries. As Merle and Kathy 
approved their retirement years, they were blessed with 6 beautiful 
grandchildren, and they relished their births and spending many 
memorable years watching them grow into adulthood.
 Merle was a very kind, sincere, caring, and loving man. He loved 
his family with all his being and was always very interested in all 
their lives and experiences. The world was truly blessed by Merle's 
presence. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him!&nbsp;

Merle S. Tuttle

James Raymond “Mick” McVey, 98, died February 23, 2022, in Lindsborg, 
Kansas. He was born May 14, 1923, to James Oliver and Anna Elizabeth 
(Raymond) McVey, on the family farm at the north edge of Hill City. He 
grew up with his sisters: Pat, Mary Doris and Helen. He attended grade 
school and high school in Hill City, graduating in 1941. 
 Following graduation, he began his college career at Fort Hays 
College, joining the United States Army, November 19, 1942. Once at Camp
 Roler near Sacramento, California, he was trained as a high-speed radio
 operator. This job required the operators to communicate by sending and
 receiving five letter code groups. Mick was attached to GHQ, which was 
General McArthur’s Headquarters, to monitor communications of airplanes,
 ships, companies of Army and Marines.
 Stationed in the Pacific, Mick was involved in the radio operations 
at Milne Bay, New Guinea, near Australia, and then north to Hollandia, 
New Guinea for several months. His 60th Battalion then participated in 
the landing on Samoa, then on to Luzon where he was stationed until the 
Japanese surrendered. Mick was awarded the Bronze Star. He returned to 
the United States where he was discharged, January, 1946. 
 Mick returned to his studies at Fort Hays and graduated with a 
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, and a Master’s Degree in Education. 
During his college years, he also renewed his pilot’s license.
 Mick met Mary Anne Lewis at a dance. This chance meeting led to 65 
years together. The two of them taught school in communities in western
 Kansas for the next nine years. Wanting to settle in one place and 
raise a family, they built a home in Hill City. They owned and operated 
Lewis Oil Stations in Hill City and Palco and later bought two more in 
Damar and Plainville. The couple adopted two children, Betty and Mike. 
As the children grew up they spent leisurely days at the Webster lake 
cabin with boating and swimming, and of course many gun shows. After the
 children were grown, Mick and Mary Anne traveled to Mexico, the 
Bahamas, Hawaii, Spain and Italy. 
 Having a deep love for God and a strong foundation of faith, Mick 
and Mary Anne were supporting members of the Presbyterian Church and 
attending every Sunday.
 Preceding Mick in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Anne; his 
son, Mike McVey and two sisters: Mary Doris and Helen. Leaving to mourn 
his passing are his sister Pat McVey; daughter, Betty Humphrey, of 
Pagosa Springs, Colorado; grandchildren: Whitney (Clint) Spitler, of 
Lindsborg, Javil (Lindsey) Hansen of Salina, Kiaya (Jeremiah) Flaugh, 
and Chanlor (Brian) Ray, all of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; six great 
grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Donald W. Lamb, 89, died Tuesday March 1, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital
 in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 30, 1932, at Ellinwood, 
Kansas, the son of Arlie L. and Bonnie (Chuculate) Lamb. 
Donald grew up in Ellinwood where he attended school and spent a lot of 
time in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on the Cherokee Reservation with his 
grandmother. After graduation Donald enlisted in the United States Navy.
 On August 3, 1964, Donald married Deloris J. “Sweetie” Lamb at Garden 
City, Kansas. 
Don began his career in the oilfields working overseas, and the later 
part of it working all over Southwest Kansas where he was known as “The 
oldest oil pumper in the world” by his colleagues. Don was a member of 
St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Eagle’s Lodge. 
His life revolved around his family, dancing, music, sporting events, 
ice cream, telling jokes, and making his regular trips to U-Pump-It to 
get his iced tea. 
He is survived by 4 Sons- Curtis (Dee) Lamb, Kip (Tracy) Lamb, Garrett 
(Hayley Frazier) Lamb, and Colin (Winsom) Lamb all of Garden City, 2 
Daughters- Twila Briscoe of Garden City and Arlee (Vincent) Ramos of

Kelsey Renay (Ammons) Hogan, 40, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; Her battle with cancer is over.&nbsp; Her forever home is built and she is with the Lord.

Kelsey was born August 25, 1981, in Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; She was the daughter of Rodney Lee and Jan Renee (Mettlen) Ammons.&nbsp; She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.&nbsp; She then attended Brown Mackie College in Salina and completed studies in Criminal Justice.&nbsp;

Kelsey was working for Options in Hays as a Domestic Abuse Counselor and was an Assistance Director.&nbsp; She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Russell.&nbsp; Her spare time was spent with her children and family.

Kelsey’s surviving family include her three daughters, Ella Hogan, Harper Hogan and Tallulah Hogan; parents, Rod and Jan Ammons of Lucas, Kansas; brother, Tyler Ammons (Jodie) of Alma, Kansas; sisters, Jenna Dorris (Jed) of Eaton, Colorado and Lyndie Worley (Josh) of Osborne, Kansas.

Kelsey was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Celebration of Kelsey’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Bible Baptist Church of Russell.&nbsp; Burial and Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday at the Lucas Cemetery in Lucas, Kansas.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to Services, Monday at Bible Baptist Church.&nbsp;

Kelsey Renay (Ammons) Hogan

Jerry Martin Molner, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022,&nbsp; at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. He was born on April 
1, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, to John Martin and Matilda Ruth McLean
 Molner. He worked for the county taking care of the landfill. He 
attended the Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, Kansas.

Survivors include his siblings; Rickie &amp; Tandi Molner of Garden 
City, Kansas, Linda Molner of Newport News, Virgina, Lloyd Molner of 
Jacksonville, Florida, Birdie Molner &amp; Rocky Williams of Leoti, 
Kansas, Faye Molner of Scott City, Kansas, and Carol Ann Valadez &amp; 
Doug Bell of Leoti, Kansas, an aunt, Eunice McLean of El Chino, 
California, cousins; John Molner of El Chino,California, Stan Molner of 
El Chino, California,Terry Molner, of California, Eddie McLean of Leoti,
 Kansas, Gary &amp; Sharon Hammons, and one nephew, Michael Hillstead of
 Garden City, Kansas.

his home.&nbsp; He was born September 2, 1953, in Hays, Kansas to Alvin F. 
and Dolores M. (Dreiling) Rome.&nbsp; He married Mary Jo Schulte on November 
20, 1976, at Victoria, Kansas.

He grew up in Victoria and was a 1971 graduate of Victoria High School.
 &nbsp;He was an U.S. Army Reserve veteran. He worked many years for 
Occidental Petroleum and was later a contract pumper.&nbsp; He enjoyed 
playing, coaching, and watching sports. Mark was a member of The 
Basilica of St. Fidelis and Victoria Knights of Columbus.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo, of the home; his children, Aaron 
Rome and wife, Shana, Hays, KS; Andra Cunningham and husband, Preston, 
Fowler, KS; Jason Rome and wife, Jeanie, Hays, KS; Garret Rome, Gorham,

Ronald D. “Ron” McGuire, 54, passed away on March 2, 2022, at Clara 
Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. He was born on January 9, 1968, at 
Larned, Kansas, to William &amp; Mary Anne (Augustine) McGuire. On 
December 12, 2012, Ron married Sarah Howe in Great Bend, Kansas.

Ron spent over a decade in California but was otherwise a long-time 
area resident. He enjoyed fishing, his collections including 
knick-knacks and wolf memorabilia, cooking, and his beloved Pomeranians 
and Chihuahua.

Ron is survived by his wife of the home; a sister, Connie (Jose) 
Montelongo of Hoisington, Kansas; a brother, John McGuire of Hoisington,
 Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 
his parents; and two brothers, William, Jr. and Michael McGuire.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A private 
family service will be held at a later date.

Jordan Michael Levingston, 27, passed away March 3, 2022, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was born on September 8, 1994, to William Boe &amp; Cindi (Munsch) Levingston.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Jordan was a cook at Freddy's whom he considered family and loved. He was an avid gamer and loved KU and the Kansas City Chiefs. Jordan enjoyed talking about politics, rap music and loved to take road trips.

Survivors include, his parents Boe and Cindi Levingston of the home, a twin brother, Austin Levingston a sister, Allison Levingston both of Great Bend; a step brother, Jason Levingston; a step sister, Robin Wetig (Jamie) of Wichita; his grandmother, Sharon Munsch of Great Bend; and four nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, LeRoy Munsch and William C. and Bonnie Levingston.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Murphy presiding. Melvin Joseph “Mel” Basgall, 79, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away 
Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Mel was born November 5, 1942, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Bruno and 
Angela (Sanders) Basgall. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, 
Kansas. A 1960 graduate of Victoria High School, Kansas, Mel 
furthered his education receiving an Associate of Applied Science Degree
 from Barton County Community College, Great Bend, and his 
Master’s Degree in Psychology from Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; Mel was a drug and alcohol counselor for CKF Addiction 
Treatment in Salina, then Smoky Hill Foundation for Chemical 
Dependency Inc., Hays, before his retirement.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas; and the ISIS Shrine, Salina.

He was a United States Air Force veteran.

On March 3, 1973, he married Jametta Peters at the United Methodist Church, La Crosse.&nbsp;

Survivors include:&nbsp; his wife, Jametta Basgall, La Crosse, Kansas; his
 children, Todd&nbsp; Basgall, La Crosse, Kansas, Tonya Basgall, La Crosse, 
Kansas, Cory Morgan, Great Bend, Kansas, Mike Basgall, Oregon, and Brad 
Basgall, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jamie Basgall, Jerrod Morgan 
(Carrie), Jeremy Morgan (Amanda), Amanda Beard (Logan), Kaitlyn Hunter, 
Alexis Morgan, Kolin Basgall, Adria Morgan, and C J Morgan; five great 
grandchildren, Brantley Morgan, Blaze Morgan, Rylie Morgan, Jo Ann 
Beard, and Avori Morgan; and two sisters, Norma Basgall (Steve), Las 
Vegas, Nevada, and Kay Guffey (John), McPherson, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kevin Basgall; one 
daughter, Leslie Morgan; one great grandson, Michael Morgan; and one 
brother, Ken Basgall.

Jolene “Jodie” Case went to her heavenly home on January 31, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.&nbsp; Jodie was born on January 13, 1951, to Duane and Betty Turner in Beloit, Kansas. Jodie graduated with the class of 1969 in Cawker City, Kansas. She met the love of her life, David Case and they were married in November 1969.&nbsp; Their union was blessed with a son, Duane Case.&nbsp; Jodie enjoyed her time at Vickers where she was employed for 18 years. Jodie loved tending to her beautiful flowers and yard.&nbsp; She had such a love for animals, especially her pal, Bella Grace and cat, Baby. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Hazel Gilmore; brothers, Johnnie and Vernon; sister, Deb DePoy; mother-in-law, Ann Dean; brother-in-law, Bruce Case; and nephews, Christian Hammond and William Case.&nbsp; She is survived by her husband, Dave of the home; son, Duane (Stephanie); grandson, Keegan Case; sisters, Judy (Dale) Goheen, Becky (Ron) Attwood, Nancy (Mark) Bowles, Kim (Rob) Williams; brothers, Ron (Carol) Young, Randy Turner, Rick and Rodney Casey, sister-in-law, Veronica Grisham and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Downs.&nbsp; No visitation. Memorials may be given in Jodie’s name, with designation to be made at a later date.

Janelle Quinones, 69, died on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Shepherd’s 
Center in Cimarron. She was born on November 5, 1952, at Hays, the 
daughter of Roy &amp; Novela (McDaniel) Burd. She married Pedro “Pete” 
Quinones on June 22, 1978, at Raton, New Mexico. 
Janelle attended Pierceville High School. She worked at Monfort and 
Con-Agri Beef Plants, was office manager for Pete’s Sprinkler Repair and
 became a longtime Cashier at Walmart. She enjoyed fishing, camping, 
her pets, making tie blankets and most of all being a Grandmother and 
friend to her family. 
She is survived by her Son- Waylon Quinones of Pierceville, Daughter- 
Leyla Daley of Cimarron and 3 Grandchildren= Damien Quinones, Katie 
Jones and Jacob Daley. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 
Brother- Lawrence Jones and Sister- Joyce Burd. 
Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Pierceville Cemetery in 
Pierceville with Rev Bob Bates officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 
PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.

John James Otis, 74, of Oberlin, KS passed away on February 22, 2022. 
He was born on April 27, 1947, in Smith Center, KS to John Henry and 
Gretchella Eloise (Schropshier) Otis.
 John grew up in Agra and graduated from Agra High School. After 
high school he joined the Navy in 1968. John was a very active person. 
He loved to run, bike, canoe, and take long walks. He also liked 
flowers and a good hot cup of coffee.
 John is survived by wife Donna Otis of Oberlin, KS; son: Brandon 
(Jennifer) Otis of Wichita, KS; daughter: Jaime (David) Rhoades of 
Lawton, OK; stepchildren: Tina (Gary) Meitl of Dresden, KS, Rhonda 
(Kenneth) Cox of Sioux Falls, SD, and Galen Stacey of Manhattan, KS; 
brothers: Paul (Vicky) Otis of Flemington, NJ and David (Gayle) Otis of 
Ulysses, KS; sisters: Dara (Roger) Leaming of Fort Scott, KS and Lynn 
Rowe of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 20 Great
 Grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents.&nbsp;
