
Opal Ann Ferguson, 83, passed away March 15, 2022, at her home in Great Bend. She was born September 25, 1938, at Squires, Mo. to Arthur & Dollie Marie (Morrison) McKnight. She married Donald Gene Ferguson on May 19, 1955 at Great Bend, Kansas. He died September 3, 2010.
A longtime Great Bend resident, Opal worked on the brush line at Fuller Brush and was a bookkeeper and co-owner for Fergy's Enterprises. She enjoyed playing card games, going to the casino and motorcycle riding. She especially loved spending time with and taking vacations with her family.
Survivors include, her son, Darwin Ferguson and wife Diana, a daughter, Diann Garcia of Great Bend and a sister, Waneta Mason all of Great Bend; eight grandchildren, Darla Villalobos, Dana Hernandez, Kristy Creamer, Misty Skinner, Brandy Ferguson, Derrick Ferguson, Doug Ferguson and Dustin Ferguson; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Ferguson; a son, Daryl Ferguson; a daughter, Donna Sue Ferguson; two daughters in law, Sharon Ferguson and Stacy Ferguson; and a sister, Dorothy Fletcher.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, with family to receive friends at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Kurt Spivey.
Memorials have been designated to the American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
