Robert Kendall “Bob” Bayless, 63, passed away April 11, 2020, at his 
home in Great Bend. He was born on May 24, 1956, to Roy S. Bayless, Jr. 
and Evelyn C. (McClain) Bayless.

Bob was a life time resident of Great Bend and a veteran of the 
United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era. He obtained the rank
 of Petty Officer 2nd Class and served aboard the U.S.S. Hawk
 Bill. Carrying on his family’s business legacy, Bob was a co-owner of 
Bayless Dry Cleaning, having retired in 2019. He was an avid golfer, 
fisherman, gardener, hunter and enjoyed blues music.

Survivors include, two sons, Logan Bayless (Lakin) of Greenwood, Mo.,
 and Wyatt Bayless (Kenzie Schmitt) of Prairie Village; two brothers, 
David Bayless and wife Shari of Great Bend, and Stephen Bayless and wife
 Judy of Helena, Mont.; two sisters, Jane Goodwin, and Barbara Achatz 
and husband Charlie, all of Great Bend; and three grandchildren, Alex 
Bayless, Sophia Bayless, and Isabelle Bayless. He was preceded in death 
by his parents.

Private family inurnment will take place at Golden Belt Memorial Park
 with Pastor LeRoy Keith presiding. Memorials are suggested to Ducks 
Unlimited, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

Clint Alan Froelich, 39, Hays, Kansas, 
died Sunday, April 12, 2020, with his wife holding his hand at HayMed.&nbsp; 
At 2:45 am on that Easter morning, he was freed of all his earthly pains
 and joined his heavenly Father away from all earthly burdens.

He was born August 16, 1980, the son of
 Morris Alan and Marie Kay (Dreiling) Froelich in Hays.&nbsp; Growing up, 
Clint was a very loving, happy, energetic, and ornery little boy.&nbsp; Clint
 attended Hays High School and graduated in May 1999.&nbsp; He was a very 
hardworking man of many talents, but most of all he loved construction.&nbsp;
 He worked for Bieker Construction for seven years before starting with 
Brackney Construction where he continued for the next 14 years.&nbsp; Clint 
was never one to turn down a person in need of help and would help 
friends and family many nights and weekends.&nbsp; He was a Kansas City 
Chiefs fan and enjoyed fishing, shooting, gardening, and baking.&nbsp; He 
would bake for days in preparation for ski trips with his family.&nbsp; He 
loved spending time with his daughters. &nbsp;&nbsp;

In March of 1998, as a junior in high 
school, he met his soulmate and future wife Savanna Tibbetts.&nbsp; Clint and
 Savanna dated long distance until she graduated from high school in 
2001.&nbsp; In 2003, the happy couple welcomed their first daughter Marissa 
to the world, and Clint’s light never shown brighter.&nbsp; On September 16, 
2006 Clint and Savanna were united in marriage in Hays at St. Nicholas 
of Myra Catholic Church where Clint had been a member since the church 
was built.&nbsp; Clint loved being a father, and the couple welcomed three 
more children to their family.&nbsp; Afton was welcomed in October of 2007, 
Joselin was welcomed in July of 2009, and after many years of trying and
 being devastated by the loss of their only son Talon in August of 2014 
and a daughter Piper in December of 2015, their daughter Victoria joined
 the party in October of 2017.

When Victoria was only six months old, 
Clint was taken to HaysMed for appendicitis.&nbsp; Five days after the 
appendectomy Clint was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive 
form of cancer.&nbsp; Clint took a breath and vowed to give every ounce of 
fight within him to conquer this disease.&nbsp; Over the next 23 months Clint
 endured 29 procedures, 83 days away from his beloved children, three 
different hospitals, two different states, 13 doctors, numerous nurses 
and many missed family holidays and celebrations.&nbsp; Clint NEVER gave up. 
&nbsp;Each and every day he woke up he put a smile on his face, and kept life
 as normal as possible for his girls.

Clint is survived by his wife; Savanna,
 and four daughters; Marissa, Afton, Joselin, and Victoria, all of the 
home in Hays, his parents; Morris and Marie Froelich of Hays, KS, a 
sister; Jill Russell and husband Bill, and two nieces; Kaeleah and Brynn
 Russell, all of Papillion, NE, his grandparents; Morris and MaryAnn 
Froelich of Gorham, KS and Marvin and Kathleen Dreiling of Hays, KS, his
 father-in-law; Russell Tibbetts of Beaver, OK and a host of aunts, 
uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many loved family and 
friends.

He was preceded in death by a son;

Rose Mitchell, 90, died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Brookdale Senior Living in Dodge City.

She was born January 11, 1930 at Ingalls, the daughter of Grover Bion
 and Edith Carrie (Thompson) Mitchell.&nbsp; She grew up on the family farm 
in Gray County and was a graduate of Cimarron High School.&nbsp; She worked 
as a bookkeeper for the Farm Service Agency in Ness City for several 
years.

Survivors include: her sister, Nellie Louise Bell, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Raymond, 
Edward, William and Charles Mitchell and 2 sisters, Edna Imel and Anna 
Hazelwood.

Becoming old/older comes with a price. That being seeing others pass away before you. And carrying their life with you.&nbsp;

It is with great sadness. That I write these words in memory of my 
aunt Rose. She lived a full life a good Christian life!&nbsp;Though she never
 married nor had children of her own. She was loved, adored and

Rose Mitchell

Leo Ochs was born February 19, 1927, 
to Anton and Eleanor (Heier) Ochs.&nbsp; He passed away April 9, 2020 at Gove
 County Medical Center at the age of 93. He
 married Eulalia Goetz on April 11, 1950 at the Sacred Heart Church in 
Park. Together they farmed and raised their family with a devout faith 
in God on their farm near Park. They were married nearly 70 years and 
Leo made daily visits to Eulalia to be with her when she entered the 
long-term care facility. &nbsp; He proudly served in the United States Army 
during WWII including overseas duty in Germany. He was a member of the 
Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Leo brought such life and light to 
this world.&nbsp; We will dearly miss his infectious laughter, mischievous 
grin, stories, and love and devotion to his wife and family.

 Wilbur “Alex” Jay, 21, died April 6, 2020 at his home in La Crosse, 
Kansas. He was born April 13, 1998 the son of Dana and Melissa (Engel) 
Jay at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse.

He was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a member of the First Christian Church in La Crosse.

A
 lifetime La Crosse resident, he was a 2016 graduate of La Crosse High 
School and attended Fort Hays State University. He was a proud member of
 the La Crosse Leopard football team, Class President his freshman, 
sophomore and junior years, a member of the National Honor Society and 
Student Council, and was a Governor’s Scholar 2016 Award recipient. A 
4.0 student all four years of high school, he was the 2016 
Valedictorian.

Alex
 loved spending time with his family and friends, watching movies, and 
playing video games with his buddies. He was very passionate about music
 and loved all genres.

At
 the time of his death, he was employed at The Rush County News in La 
Crosse as the Circulation Manager and also worked for Triple E 
Enterprises.

He
 is survived by his parents, Dana and Melissa Jay, of La Crosse; one 
brother, Andrew Jay, of Hays; his grandparents, Lou Jay and Paul Unruh, 
of Great Bend; uncles, Dean (Kim) Jay, Delvin (Donna) Jay, Dreu Jay, Tim
 (Eyvonne) Engel, and Troy (Leslie) Engel; many cousins and tons of 
friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Wilbur “Doc” Jay, and grandparents, Duane and Mary Engel.

A family graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2020 at the La Crosse City Cemetery in La Crosse, Kansas.

Lioba J. Schmidt, 90, of Hutchinson, passed away April 6, 2020, at 
her daughter's home, in Edmond, OK, surrounded by her family. She was 
born December 15, 1929, in Emmeram, KS, to Adam and Anna (Scheck) 
Windholz.

A Hutchinson resident since 1960, she was a retired employee of USD 
308-Hutchinson Public Schools, where she worked as a cook and custodian 
at Lincoln Elementary and Sherman Junior High School.&nbsp; Lioba was a 
long-time member of the Roman Catholic Church.

On January 14, 1947, she married Alvin Joseph Schmidt, in Pfeifer, KS. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1993.

Lioba was also preceded in death by: her only son, Cary Paul on March
 6, 2014; her three brothers, Charles, Delmas, and Ernest Windholz; and 
seven sisters, Sister Margaret Louise, Lucy Hertel, Leona Tallman, 
Teckla Gross, Regina Mai, Edna Tope, and Georgie Leiker.

Survivors include: her three daughters and spouses, Margaret (Tony) 
Spellman of Hutchinson, Alice (Brian) Boyd of Hutchinson, and Dr. Carrie
 (Gregory) Konen of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Dane (Emily) Schmidt of 
Overland Park, Brooke Northern of Overland Park, Dominic (Karen)

Gary Patrick Dino, 73, passed away April 6, 2020, at Via Christi St. 
Francis, Wichita. He was born on April 6, 1947, at Monticello, New York,
 to Floyd &amp; Clara (Kreutzer) Dino (Sweetman). He married Mary Stos 
on November 3, 1977, at Liberal, KS. She survives.

Gary graduated from Great Bend High School and attended Hutchinson 
Jr. College, where he was drafted into the United States Army and served
 his country in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He was medivacked out in 1969 to
 Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver for 9 months, where he recovered 
from his wounds. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery, as well as 
the Purple Heart. He went above and beyond and his courage was 
commendable. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart 
and Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

In his younger years, he worked in the oilfield in many capacities, 
and when the oil business slowed down, he attended the Florida Institute
 of Technology at Jenssen Beach, Florida, where he became a Certified 
OMC Mechanic. He loved the great outdoors. Fishing and camping were his 
passion. He found serenity in just parking to watch the deer and turkey 
as they came out at night. Anyone who knew him, knew he had a soft spot 
for animals, his many black labs, with the most recent being Odee. Not 
to mention his two cats he called Skinny and Stinky that he rescued as 
kittens. He had a heart as big as Texas and such an infectious laugh. 
Many were in awe at his ability to do pretty much anything he put his 
mind to, and do it to perfection. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include, his wife Mary of 42 years; a daughter in law, 
Stacy Bouse; a sister, Tammy Scheuerman and husband Jeff; his 
grandchildren, Tylan Dino, Brannan Schaffer and Cayden (Dino) Bouse; a 
great granddaughter, Lux Dino; grandchildren of the heart, Clinton Bouse
 and Melanie Bouse; special nephews, Lafe Kern, Dino Kern, and Reggie 
Kern; special nieces, Gina Werth, Jessica James and Tatum Stahman. He 
was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Tyler Dino and Bowen 
Dino; a sister, Donna Kern; and a nephew, Shane Kern.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place and Memorial
 services are pending, due to the Mass restrictions and limitations set 
forth by the Catholic Diocese, and will be announced at a later date. 
Military Rites will be conducted with inurnment at that time. Memorials 
are suggested to the Gary Dino Funeral Expense Fund or Golden Belt 
Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

George was born July 12, 1929, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of George J. Seuser, Sr., and Marie (Jedlicka) Seuser. He was a resident of Bison, Kansas, for 83 years, before becoming a resident of Riverview Estates, Marquette, Kansas, in January, 2013. A 1947 graduate of Bison High School, Bison, Kansas, he was a farmer before his retirement.

On November 1960, he married Harriet Ann Green in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2017. George and Harriet made their home on the original Seuser homestead that was established in 1891. George believed a man’s word was his bond, and that working the land was a calling. He thrived on the thrill and stress of harvest each year. Long after retiring, he would speak about raising cattle, planting, and preparing for harvest. On a Sunday drive, he would note, “Now that’s a good lookin’ milo field.” His passing means he now walks in fields of gold.

Survivors include the following: one son, George J. Seuser III, Kanopolis Lake, Kansas; one daughter, Laurie Denk (John, Lindsborg, Kansas; two grandchildren, Claire Denk, Des Moines, Iowa; and Connor Denk, Lindsborg, Kansas; and one great grandson, Liam Denk, Lindsborg, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Bill Seuser; and two sisters, Margarete Albers, and Mildred Littler.

Because of the current challenges the world is facing at the present time, this is a private, immediate family only, graveside service and interment, with no visitation.

On July 18, 2009 she married Scott D. Lane in Scott City, Kansas.&nbsp; He survives.

 Carol was born October 1, 1941, at Utica, Kansas, the daughter of Verbin L. &amp; Olive Irene (McCray) Donovan.  A lifetime resident of Greeley County she was a retired cook and restaurateur in Tribune, Kansas.

Carol was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas.

In 1959 she married Donald M. Paxman in Tribune, Kansas.  Donald passed away in 2001 in McPherson, Kansas.

Anselma “Selma” Janet (Giebler) Cook, 
age 76, of Hays, Kansas passed away April 7, 2020 in her home. She was 
born August 26, 1943 at St. Anthony hospital in Hays, Kansas, to Alvin 
F. and Amelia (Windholz) Giebler. She married Francis Samuel Cook at St.
 Joseph Catholic Church in Hays on June 12, 1965.

Selma attended grade school in 
Catharine, KS, graduated from Girls Catholic High School in 1961.&nbsp; Selma
 and Francis lived many years in Goodland, KS, she loved working for the
 Sherman County Day Care Center, and the Goodland Regional Medical 
Center and&nbsp; as a dietary aid, and a cook for USD 489 at Wilson 
Elementary and Felten Middle School, but most of all she enjoyed taking 
care of her grandsons.&nbsp;

Survivors include her husband, Francis 
of Hays; sons, David J. Cook Amarillo, TX; and Robert F. Cook of Kansas 
City, MO; Grandsons Jon D. Cook (Kenzie) Hays, Ks; and Brett Ross 
(Nicole) of Erie, KS; two great grandsons, Westyn and Hunter Cook, two 
great granddaughters, Serenity and Addison; her siblings Diann Dreiling,
 Hays, JoAnn Thiessen, Wichita, Alvin Jr. Giebler, Oklahoma City, OK and
 John Giebler of Norman, OK.&nbsp;

Elementary and Felten Middle School, but most of all she enjoyed taking 
care of her grandsons.&nbsp;Survivors include her husband, Francis 
of Hays; sons, David J. Cook Amarillo, TX; and Robert F. Cook of Kansas 
City, MO; Grandsons Jon D. Cook (Kenzie) Hays, Ks; and Brett Ross 
(Nicole) of Erie, KS; two great grandsons, Westyn and Hunter Cook, two 
great granddaughters, Serenity and Addison; her siblings Diann Dreiling,
 Hays, JoAnn Thiessen, Wichita, Alvin Jr. Giebler, Oklahoma City, OK and

Anselma 'Selma' Janet (Giebler) Cook

Charles D. Carpenter, age 82, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2020, at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas.  Charlie was born June 19, 1937, in Thomas County, Kansas, the son of Charles A. &amp; Mildred (Kenefake) Carpenter. 

Charlie has been a resident of Wichita County, Kansas since 1983 moving from Colby, Kansas.  He was a dog breeder of racing greyhounds from 1983 until 1993 and retired as a custodian for Wichita County High School in 1999.

Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with friends and family. He has passed his love for hunting and fishing on to his grandsons, Chase and Huck. Charlie was a former member of the Wichita County Bowling League, The National Greyhound Association, The Coon Club, and currently held a membership in the N.R.A.

On October 14, 1978, he married Julie Appl in Leoti, Kansas.

Charlie’s surviving family includes his wife, Julie Carpenter of Leoti, Kansas; two children, Cole &amp; Bridgette Carpenter of Leoti, Kansas and Theresa Carpenter of Sutton, Nebraska.  He is also survived by two sisters, Norma Smith of Emporia, Kansas and Annie Brooks of Colby, Kansas as well as three grandchildren. 

His parents, a grandchild, and three sisters preceded him in death.

Private funeral services will be held at the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.

Friends may sign the book from 1:00 pm until 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Price &amp; Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Marvin D. “Spank” Lang, 86, Hays, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at his home.

He was born August 25, 1933 in 
Hoisington, the son of Robert and Anna (Reif) Lang.&nbsp; On December 27, 
1958 he was united in marriage to Sue Tholen in Vincent, and they 
celebrated 61 years of marriage.&nbsp; He was a graduate of Hoisington High 
School, served in the United States Army, and was an oilfield roustabout
 and pumper.&nbsp; His memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church and 
Commander of Hays American Legion Post #173.&nbsp; He coached his sons’ 
baseball teams, represented the American Legion at state baseball games,
 loved sports, and was a great dad and grandpa who loved his family.

Survivors include his wife; Sue of the 
home, four daughters; Marva Willhoft and husband Joel, and Joyce 
Mattison and husband Andy, all of Hays, Sharon Szurpicki and husband 
Paul and Jodie Kerr and husband Rusty, all of Wichita, two sons; Gary 
Lang and wife Cristina and Larry Lang and wife Lori, all of Charlotte, 
NC, eighteen grandchildren; Brent Mattison and wife Coley, Brad Mattison

Sherman Eugene 'Gene' Miller

William E. “Bill” Hamann was born on August 23, 1940, to parents Melva Gay Hamann and Hans Henry Hamann. He passed away on April 5, 2020.



Bill is survived by his sister Dorthea Bennett, his daughter Jan Monee Trizuto, son-in-law Vito Trizuto, grandson Tristan J. Auclair, granddaughter Tatum M. Auclair, as well as his daughter Jill Marie Hamann of Arkansas.



Bill went to Tribune schools from grade school through high school, graduating in 1958. He then went on to higher education at Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University before teaching high school for five years and enjoying a wonderful career of 25 years with the City of Phoenix, where he was Assistant to the City Engineer. Bill retired to Tribune in 2003 and enjoyed 17 years of retirement.



As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and he is to be scattered at the Hamann farm, Peggy’s Place, and graveside. He requested that his memorial be held during Fair time when folks are in-town. Details will be decided at a later date.



Bill Hamann loved this community and its people, and he will be missed.

Lausch, age 89, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born on November 11, 1930 in Council Grove, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Velma F. Fisher Houck.&nbsp; In 1959 Anita moved to Scott City, Kansas from Great Bend, Kansas and then around 1995 she moved to Garden City, Kansas.&nbsp; She was a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas and was a past member of Eastern Star in Scott City, Kansas.

On February 16, 1952 she married Roy E. Lausch in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; He passed away on March 5, 1986 in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include her One Son - Kyle &amp; Gina Lausch of Scott City, Kansas, Four Daughters - Lavona &amp; Jim Kuhn of Paris, Texas, Sherrie &amp; Charles Berry of Scott City, Kansas, Robin Henderson of Scott City, Kansas, Lynn &amp; Mike Palen of Omaha, Nebraska, Thirteen Grandchildren, and Twenty Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband - Roy Lausch, One Daughter - Karen Lausch, and Two Brothers - Jerry Houck and Ronnie Houck.

Mary L. Holliday, 70, passed away on April 2nd, 2020, at UKMC Hays Campus in Hays, Kansas.

Mary was born on January 21st, 1950, at Russell City Hospital, Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Virginia (Steinert) Boxberger.&nbsp; She grew up in the Milberger community south of Russell.

She attended Lincoln Township School north of Milberger for the first 8 grades, and finished her education at Russell High School.

She enjoyed cooking and baking and was accomplished at crocheting and knitting.

Surviving family members include son, Matt Langhofer, Bunker Hill, Kansas; four grandchildren, Matthew Langhofer, Logan Langhofer, Laura Langhofer and Lacey Langhofer; one sister, Beverly Miller of Leawood, Kansas; and one brother, Tim (Laura) Boxberger of Great Bend, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Douglas Langhofer.

Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on April 1, 1918 
in Ness City, the son of Percy and Mildred (Borthwick) Miner.

Alden was an Abstractor and owner of Miner Brothers, a firm that had 
been in existence since 1885. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Rotary, 
the Frank Stull American Legion Post No. 152, and the United Methodist 
Church. He served his community on the city council and school board and
 his country in World War II, and the Korean Conflict. He was a pilot 
and loved to fly. His crowning achievement was being a tuba player. He 
married Gwendolyn L. Lee on May 28, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of 
the many things they enjoyed was traveling the world together. She died 
on March 12, 2016.

Survivors include son, Dennis (Judy) Miner of Shawnee, KS; 
daughter-in-law, Beth Miner of Ness City; grandchildren, Allen (Carrie) 
Miner, Ann (Shawn) Gottfried, Andrea (Shannon) Washburn, Daniel Miner; 
and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his
 wife Gwendolyn, and son William Miner.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.

Alden B. Miner

Daniel Nickolas Bayer, 89, passed away April 5, 2020, at his home in 
Great Bend. He was born on September 12, 1930, in Willowdale, to William
 Joseph and Margaret (Gehlen) Bayer. He married Mary Kanngiesser on 
April 8, 1961, at St. John Catholic Church in Zenda. She survives.

A Great Bend resident since 1964, coming from the Cunningham and 
Kingman areas, Daniel was a very humble man and had a servant's heart. 
He worked in the oilfeld for Ralph Raney and later for Ted Nutt, then as
 a mechanic for Gibson, Titus and Stafford. He then worked for Straub 
International as a mechanic, retiring in 1999. After retiring, Dan 
worked for Silverado Electric. He was a veteran of the United States Air
 Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Prince 
of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, past Grand Knight of 
Knights of Columbus Council #862, past Navigator of 4th Degree Knights 
of Columbus, and life member of VFW Post #3111. Dan was a volunteer at 
the Heartland Cancer Center, and served his church as a Eucharistic 
Minister and CCD/PSR teacher and marriage preparation teacher. He was an
 avid baseball fan and enjoyed many wood working and outdoor hobbies.

Survivors include, his wife, Mary Bayer of the home; six daughters, 
Mary Stoss and husband Duane of Great Bend, Carolyn Wilhelm and husband 
Jerry of Colwich, Connie Dyer and husband Steve of Great Bend, Daniela 
Reif and husband Wayne of Hoisington, Ann Axman and husband Ryan of 
Olmitz, and Kristen Swartz and husband Kevin of Bennett, Colo.; six 
siblings, Sr. Corona Bayer of Great Bend, Genevieve Klein of Charleston,
 Ark., Herman Bayer of Mountain Grove, Mo., Joan Payne of Kingman, 
Martina Young of Wichita, and Leonard Bayer of Kingman.; fourteen 
grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 
his parents; and six siblings, Ralph Bayer, Marion Bayer, Harold Bayer, 
Walter Bayer, Sr. Camillus Bayer, and an infant brother.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 
7, 2020, and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, with family 
receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral 
Home. A private family Knights of Columbus Rosary, Vigil and Mass of 
Christian Burial, with Father Don Bedore presiding, will be held due to 
the Mass restrictions and limitation set forth by the Catholic Diocese. 
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend with Military 
Rites conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. Memorials have 
been suggested to the Prince of Peace Parish or Knights of Columbus 
Council #862, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

 </figure>Daniel Nickolas Bayer, 89, passed away April 5, 2020, at his home in 
Great Bend. He was born on September 12, 1930, in Willowdale, to William
 Joseph and Margaret (Gehlen) Bayer. He married Mary Kanngiesser on 
April 8, 1961, at St. John Catholic Church in Zenda. She survives.A Great Bend resident since 1964, coming from the Cunningham and 
Kingman areas, Daniel was a very humble man and had a servant's heart. 
He worked in the oilfeld for Ralph Raney and later for Ted Nutt, then as
 a mechanic for Gibson, Titus and Stafford. He then worked for Straub 
International as a mechanic, retiring in 1999. After retiring, Dan 
worked for Silverado Electric. He was a veteran of the United States Air
 Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Prince 
of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, past Grand Knight of 
Knights of Columbus Council #862, past Navigator of 4th Degree Knights 
of Columbus, and life member of VFW Post #3111. Dan was a volunteer at 
the Heartland Cancer Center, and served his church as a Eucharistic 
Minister and CCD/PSR teacher and marriage preparation teacher. He was an
 avid baseball fan and enjoyed many wood working and outdoor hobbies.Survivors include, his wife, Mary Bayer of the home; six daughters, 
Mary Stoss and husband Duane of Great Bend, Carolyn Wilhelm and husband 
Jerry of Colwich, Connie Dyer and husband Steve of Great Bend, Daniela 
Reif and husband Wayne of Hoisington, Ann Axman and husband Ryan of 
Olmitz, and Kristen Swartz and husband Kevin of Bennett, Colo.; six 
siblings, Sr. Corona Bayer of Great Bend, Genevieve Klein of Charleston,
 Ark., Herman Bayer of Mountain Grove, Mo., Joan Payne of Kingman,

Dennis Joe Princ, 68, of rural Luray, KS passed away on Friday, April
 3, 2020 at the Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina, KS. &nbsp;Dennis 
was born to Delmer &amp; Donna (Hubbard) Princ on February 7, 1952. 
&nbsp;Dennis was one of 2 sons born to this union.

Dennis graduated from high school &amp; then&nbsp;attended another year in
 higher education. &nbsp;He married Janet Mans and to this union, 2 children 
were born.

Dennis was&nbsp;a farmer/cattleman and&nbsp;his farm was in rural Luray. &nbsp;He 
was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Osborne, KS.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Janet of the home;&nbsp;daughter:&nbsp;Jennifer
 Princ&nbsp;of Waldo, KS; son:&nbsp;Joe Princ&nbsp;of Osborne, KS; 2 grandsons; 
and&nbsp;brother: Del (Carla) Princ&nbsp;of Osborne, KS.

Barbara Rupp, age 78, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Hays from an extended illness. Barb died peacefully at her home with her two daughters. Barb was born November 29, 1941 in Oklahoma City to William and Evelyn (Qualls) Douglas. Barb graduated from Ellis high school in 1960. Barb married Alois W. Rupp on October 22, 1960 in Ellis. Alois preceded her in death on March 12, 2016.
