James H. 'Jim' Shore

James H. “Jim” Shore, age 74, of Walker, Kansas, died Monday, May 4, 2020, at his home.  He was born March 10, 1946, at Wichita, Kansas.  His parents were Opher and Vivian (Huckle) Shore.  He married Marge (Halbleib) on April 10, 1975 at Salina, Kansas.

He was a Field Supervisor in Construction for many years and retired in 2008.  He lived in Wichita, Salina and out of state before moving to Walker in 1989.  Jim grew up in Wichita he attended Wichita North High School and a Junior College.  In  his early years he worked in the aircraft industry, was a meat cutter and a meat wholesaler.  He  enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid auto racing fan.

Survivors include his wife, Marge, of the home; three brothers-in-laws, Joe Halbleib and wife Vicki, Cimarron, KS; Tom Halbleib and wife, Heliana, Oakley, KS;  Jim Halbleib and wife, Renee, Oakley, KS; two sisters-in-law, Kay Davenport and husband, Doug, Milliken, CO; Esther Gilkerson and husband, Stan, Burkurnett, TX. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Walker, Kansas.  The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of  Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E.22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
