Francis Samuel Cook Jr age 75, of Hays, Kansas, passed away May 5, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society, Hays, KS. He was born April 17, 1945, in Hays, KS, to Frank S. Cook and Lucille E (Poliflka) Cook. He married Selma J. Giebler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays on June 12, 1965.
Francis attended grade school in Plainville and graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy, Hays in 1963. Francis and Selma lived many years in Goodland, Kansas, before returning to Hays. Francis worked 16 years at Bogart’s Grocery, and 23 years as a funeral director at Koon’s Funeral Home. He enjoyed being outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include his sons: David J. Cook Amarillo, TX; and Robert F. Cook of Kansas City, MO; Grandsons: Jon D. Cook (Kenzie) Hays, KS; and Brett Ross (Nicole) of Erie, KS; two great grandsons: Westyn and Hunter Cook; two great granddaughters: Serenity and Addison. His brothers: Richard Cook (Sherry) Wakeeney, KS; Tom Cook (Patricia) Overland Park, KS; Gerald Cook, Omaha NE; and his sister: Mary Cook, Shawnee, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Selma.
Services are pending and will be announced at a later date when the gathering restrictions due to the Covid 19 virus have been lifted.
