Born December 9, 1963, passed away April 27, 2020, at University of 
Kansas Health Systems Pawnee Valley Campus, surrounded by his daughters 
and family after his courageous battle against ALS.

He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kenneth and June Dempsey 
Drews. He grew up in Maryland. After graduation he moved to Kansas to 
help out his grandma Marie.

On December 5, 1987 he married Kay Rouse at Larned, they later divorced but remained friends; she survives.

He was an active member in the Larned community, working for the City
 of Larned for thirty years where he retired as the superintendent of 
the waste water plant and served for the Larned Fire Department for 
twenty-five years, retiring as a captain. He had a passion for playing 
guitar, sprucing up his Mustang for local car shows, and enjoyed taking 
his grandchildren fishing.

He is survived by daughters Kayla (Dustin) Patterson, Heather 
(Mitchell) Smith; step-son Brandon (Hypatia) Rouse; seven grandchildren:
 Ty, Brayden, McKinzie, Madison, Aubree, Tate, and Hylee; brothers Tom 
(Vickie) Drews, Joe (Emily) Drews, Jay (Heather) Drews; sisters Darcy 
Drews and Donna Drews Knott; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and
 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and June Drews, Uncle Gale, and grandma, Marie.

Cremation has taken place and service will take place at a later date in Garfield Cemetery with firefighter honors.

Mickie “Mick” McNett, 48, passed away on April 25, 2020, at 
Diversicare of Larned. He was born on June 30, 1971, at Great Bend, to 
Samuel &amp; Glennis (Lamb) McNett.

A lifetime area resident, Mickie lived in Hoisington. He enjoyed

Phillipsburg resident John J. "Jack" Witmer passed away April 27, 2020, at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 88.&nbsp; He was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Phillipsburg the son of Joseph &amp; Fern (May) Witmer. &nbsp;

Survivors include his wife Helen of the home; his son Eric of Phillipsburg; his daughter, Valissa of Phoenix, AZ &amp; 3 grandchildren.&nbsp;

Private family services will be held Friday, May 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the United Methodist Church with Pastor Blake Stanwood officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

The service will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.&nbsp;

It is with great sadness that the family of Larry Dean Nichols of Alton, KS announces his passing on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the age of 78 years.

Larry was born in the family home near Alton, KS. He grew up on the family farm northwest of Alton, KS, attended Liberty Bell grade school, and graduated from Alton High School in 1959. After High School Larry attended Kansas State University, majoring in Architecture.&nbsp; Go Cats! While at K-State Larry met Pat Ludington. They were married September 22, 1962 and moved back to Alton where he worked the family farm with his father. Larry and Pat had two children, Renee’ and Karen.

Larry was very active with: The Osborne County Fair Board, Osborne School Board, Alton Fire Department, Alton Pride, Kansas Western Horseman’s Association, and the Liberty Bell 4-H Club.

After Pat’s passing in 2014, Larry retired and lived at the family home where he enjoyed gardening. Larry provided many plants, fresh fruits and vegetables to the community and farmers market in Hays, KS.

Larry later met Karen Rigby and they enjoyed spending their retirement years together on the farm and traveling the United States on bus tours. They also enjoyed the Fort Hays Theater and other community social actives.&nbsp;

Larry is survived by his Best Friend and partner Karen Rigby, Alton; his daughter Renee’ Nichols (Thomas Drew, Walker, KS; Karen’s children: Richard, Overland Park, KS; Edward, Colorado Springs, CO; Marie, Topeka, KS; Larry’s brothers Warren Nichols, Washington, IL and Fred Nichols, Hilltop Lakes, TX, and sister Mary Ann (Nichols) Smith, Tulsa, OK; 2 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was proceeded in death by his wife Pat (Ludington) Nichols; daughter, Karen Nichols; father, Bernard Nichols; and mother, Wilma (Earl) Nichols.

A private funeral mass was held Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Keithley Funeral Home in Hays, KS.&nbsp; A memorial and graveside service will be held in Alton, KS at a later date to be determined.

Jean Roth, age 89 died Monday, April 27, 2020, at her home in Victoria, Kansas. She was born March 1, 1931, in Sandy Lake, Manitoba, Canada to Prokop and Sophie (Shewchuk) Millenchuk. Jean married Bernard Everett Roth on November 15, 1958, at Holy Cross Greek Catholic Church in Sandy Lake, Manitoba. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2015.

She grew up on a farm outside of Sandy Lake. Jean went to Mount Calm Grade School and attended high school in Sandy Lake and Neepawa, graduating from Neepawa. She attended Saint Boniface School of Nursing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Jean was an LPN, surgical nurse, respiratory therapist and home health care nurse for over 50 years. She nursed in Glendive, MT where she met Bernie. After their marriage, they moved to Denver, CO, Sidney, NE, Vernal, UT, Casper, WY, Williston, ND. In 1990 when Bernie retired they moved to Victoria. She was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis and Daughters of Isabella both of Victoria. Jean will be missed by the countless people she cooked and cared for in the Victoria area.

Survivors are four sons: Tom Roth, Victoria, KS; Chris Roth and wife, Kara, Ft. Collins, CO; Joe Roth and wife, Christine, Russell, KS; John Roth and Annie Kepler, Casper, WY; one daughter, Margie Dreiling, Schoenchen, KS; one sister, Marika and husband, Jim McDonald, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; nine grandchildren, Ryan Roth and fiancé, Paige Bailey; Nicholas Dreiling and fiancé, Jenn Philip-Rome; Sara (Kyle) Zimmerman; Jacob Roth and Samuel Roth; Brock Spaulding (Karley); Madison Roth and Andrew Roth; Calum Kepler; and four great-granddaughters, Abigail Zimmerman and Ellie Zimmerman, Mindy Dreiling, Katherine Spaulding and one on the way.&nbsp;

Ann Elizabeth (Stoppel) Gilbreath, 90, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Main Street Manor in Russell.

Ann was born January 12, 1930, on a farm south of Dorrance Kansas.  She was one of five children born to Alexander and Bertha (Galyardt) Stoppel.  The family then moved to Lucas Kansas where she attended school and graduated from Lucas High School. Shortly after graduating from High School, Ann moved to California where she went to school and lived in Southern California until 2015, when she moved back to Kansas to be near family.

Ann was united in marriage to Jack Gilbreath.  They divorced later in life.  Jack preceded her in death.  Ann was known as "Aunt Betty" or "Betty Ann" to her family in Kansas. In California, all her friends knew her as "Ann".  Ann was a Secretary for many businesses in California until her retirement. She also was a Hostess for Wine Shows and Tastings in California.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, and going out to eat. She also enjoyed entertaining when her family came to visit her in California.

Surviving family include two brothers, Harold Stoppel (Betty) of Hutchinson, Kansas and Melvin Stoppel (Janice) of Russell, Kansas; brother-in-law Ben Griffin of LaFayette, Georgia, and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lucille Steinert and Carol Jean Griffin, two nieces, Alane Radke and Darlene Henry, and two nephews, Alfred Steponick and Keith Stoppel.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 30, 2020, at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell, Kansas. Ann Elizabeth (Stoppel) Gilbreath

Helen L. Truan, age 90, of Gorham, Kansas died Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born June 5, 1929, in Great Bend, Kansas to Hobert “Hobe” and Alvina (Foster) Haggard.&nbsp; She married Floyd F. Truan on July 19, 1952, in Dodge City, Kansas.

She was a school teacher in Ellis and Russell Counties, including Bunker Hill, Hope Valley Country School, Mount Brokow Country School, with many years at Gorham Grade School, and a total of 39 years teaching.&nbsp; She retired in 1996.&nbsp; Her family moved to Gorham when she was young and she attended Gorham Grade School, Gorham High School and earned her Degree in Elementary Education from Fort Hays State College.&nbsp;

Helen was a very active member of the Gorham Community Church, she helped her husband on the farm, enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. &nbsp;

Survivors include her husband, Floyd F. Truan, of the home; two sons, Kent Truan and wife, Pam, Gorham, KS; Jeff Truan, Gorham, KS; and one daughter, Sherri Truan, Gorham, KS; one brother, Bob Haggard and wife, Hania, Austin, TX; 6 grandchildren&nbsp; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents. &nbsp;

Helen L. Truan

Beatrice Angela Kanak died on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center, Atwood, Kansas. She was 90 years old.


Beatrice was born on November 11, 1929 in Stratton, Nebraska to Joseph 
and Rosie (Kacirek) Janousek. She grew up on a farm in rural Atwood, 
Kansas. She was one of nine children.  She shared many memories of her 
childhood and her love for animals. After grade school she attended high
 school at Notre Dame High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She went on to 
continue her education at Hays, Kansas where she got her teaching degree
 and then taught country school at Achilles, Kansas. Beatrice was a 
member of Sacred Heart Church. 


She met the love of her life, Joe Kanak, at a dance at St. John’s Hall 
in rural Atwood. They soon fell in love and were married on June 4, 1951
 at St. John's Nepomucene Church, rural Atwood. To this union, six 
children were born, Joe III, Rose Anne, John, Vincent, Margaret and 
James.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe of 59 years, 
her grandson, Jason Kanak, son-in-law, Harlan Hagler, her siblings 
Victor (Margie) Vrbas, Bernard (Evelyn) Vrbas, Vacy (Martha) Vrbas, 
Blase (Alice) Vrbas, Adeline (Ray) Stehno, Sylvia (Joseph) Kletchka, 
Rose Marie (Rudy) Faimon and Jerome (Viola) Janousek. 


Bea was a very busy and energetic woman....a farm wife raising six 
children (each eleven months apart).  Once her children were in school 
for several years, she started working at the Rawlins County Hospital as
 a nurse aide for many years. As time went on she took a job at the 
Rawlins County Treasurer's office and still worked part time in the 
hospital. She was a very compassionate person and loved to help and care
 for others.  Even after her retirement, she took care of her older 
neighbors and friends for many years. She also took on many roles in the
 community -- she was very active in the church, the Catholic School, 
held many positions in Altar Society, was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout 
leader and answered any call to be a volunteer and serve wherever she 
could. 


She was a very talented seamstress and sewed a lot of her children's 
clothes. Among the many things she loved to do was sew, crochet and do 
crafts. Her and Joe spent a lot of time in their home shop using their 
shared talent in making woodworking crafts for craft fairs and 
fulfilling many friends requests for projects. They spent a lot of time 
at Christmas in their woodshop secretly making gifts for their kids and 
grandkids which are such treasured keepsakes. She had so much loved her 
children and each and every one of her grandchildren.


Bea and Joe loved to go to dances and were quite the Polka dancers 
scooting across the floor with ease. We can only imagine they are now 
smiling, laughing and having their heavenly dance! 


She was so loved and will be missed by those who survived her.... her 
six children, Joe III, Rose Anne (Mike) Schnee, John (De, Vincent, 
Margaret Hagler and James (Nancy, daughter-in-law, Lynette Kanak, Lisa 
Kanak McGrath, grandchildren, Linda (Ryan) Bolen, Cody (Erin) Schnee, 
Josh (Krissy) Cox, Morgan (Bryan) Schweizer, Jacob (Echo) Hagler, Jordan
 (Andrea) Hagler and Jamison Kanak (Gentry) and 19 great-grandchildren, 
one sister-in-law, Lucy (Kanak) O'Brien of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Beatrice Angela Kanak

Gary Edward Goodchuck, age 84, died 
April 21, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in Hays, Kansas. He was born
 December 11, 1935 in Denver, CO to Archie Edward and Ada Mae (Summers) 
Goodchuck. He was a 1954 graduate of Kearney High School, and a 1961 
graduate of Nebraska State Teachers College, now UNK, in Kearney, NE. 
Gary served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960, stationed at Fort Bragg, 
NC. He was a Personnel Specialist in Headquarters Detachment. Gary’s 
Basic Training was at Fort Carson, CO.&nbsp;

Gary taught American History, Social 
Studies, and Government for 37 years in Wauneta, NE High School. He 
retired and moved to Hays in 1998. He quickly became a volunteer in the 
Counselor’s Office at Hays High School and helped there for 18 years.&nbsp;
Gary was a generous person and started student travel in Wauneta’s High 
School in 1967. He continued that tradition at Hays High. Over his 
teaching career, Mr. G arranged and hosted many student trips to 
Washington, DC, NY, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Denver, Chicago, 
Yellowstone, and the Ozarks. He also provided many scholarships for 
these educational trips. Mr. G also sponsored mission trips in several 
churches and schools.

Throughout his life, Gary traveled to 
15 foreign countries, and extensively throughout the United States. 
Starting in 1947, as a 5th grader, his family started their tradition of
 volunteer work through the summers in Yellowstone National Park, Gary 
made over 60 trips to Yellowstone throughout his life.

Gary was awarded the “All American Citizen Award” by the city of Hays in July of 2006.

He was preceded in death by his 
parents, sister Gracene Bailey and husband Lennis, and sister Gloria 
Goodchuck, nephews Kevin Bailey and Kraig Bailey.

As per Gary’s wishes, cremation was 
chosen. His ashes will be scattered in one of his favorite places, 
Yellowstone National Park.&nbsp;

Sister Corona Bayer, 91, died April 27, 2020, in the Dominican 
Sisters’ convent infirmary, Great Bend. She was born October 7, 1928, in
 Willowdale, KS, the daughter of William and Margaret (Gehlen) Bayer.

She entered the Dominican Sisters Community in 1946 and pronounced 
vows in 1949. Sister Corona ministered as a homemaker from 1952 - 1970. 
She then ministered in nursing care until 1990. At that time she 
returned to the motherhouse in Great Bend where she worked for the 
Association for the Blind as well as contributed greatly to the Sisters’
 annual bazaar.

Sister Corona was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and
 one sister. She is survived by two brothers, Leonard Bayer of Kingman, 
and Herman Bayer of Mountain Grove, MO; three sisters, Ginny Klein of 
Charleston, AR, Martina Young of Wichita, and Joan Payne of Kingman; as 
well as the Dominican Sisters of Peace.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, 
April 29, 2020. A Vigil Service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at
 7:00 p.m. Both will take place at the Sisters’ Convent. A recording of

Eula L. Rathbun passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Redbud 
Village in Plainville at the age of 105. Eula was born in Palco, Kansas 
to Lewis and May Marcotte (Morton) on December 3, 1914. Eula was united 
in marriage to Hubert Rathbun on July 14, 1934 in Stockton, Kansas.  
They were blessed with four children: James, Leonard, Arthur, and 
Dorothy.


Eula grew up in Palco and attended school until the eighth grade. 
She spent her life raising kids and working at home. She enjoyed square 
dancing and was a part of the American Legion Auxiliary in Palco. Eula 
was a Seventh Day Adventist.


She is survived by her children, James (Virginia) Rathbun of Hays, 
KS, Leonard (Joan) Rathbun of Hoisington, KS, and Arthur (Charlene) 
Rathbun of Natoma, KS; sister, Laveita Scoggins of TN; fifteen 
grandchildren and thirty eight great-grandchildren; and several 
great-great-grandchildren.


Eula is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and May Marcotte; 
husband, Hubert Rathbun; daughter, Dorothy Pruter; and siblings, Melvin

Eula Rathbun

Laura May Klein passed away on April 21, 2020 at her home in Plainville,
 KS, at the age of 92. She was born on August 3, 1927 to Otto and H. 
Katie (Grauerholz) Wachs in Phillips County, KS. Laura married Ralph 
“Pete” Klein on April 23, 1950 in Kensington, KS. They were blessed with
 five children: Suzanne, Mike, Mitch, Mark, and Trish.


Laura grew up in Phillips County and graduated from Kensington High 
School. She went on to work as a beautician until she and Pete began 
their family and she stayed home to love and care for them. After they 
were grown, she began helping as a sub-rural route mail carrier and 
later became the permanent carrier. Laura enjoyed gardening, baking, and
 cooking; but most of all loved spending time with her family and big 
family gatherings.


Laura is survived by her children, Suzanne Veatch and husband Ron of
 Palco, Mike Klein and wife Catherine of Plainville, Mitch Klein and 
wife Kelli of WaKeeney, Mark Klein and wife Kerry of Ellsworth, and 
Trish Taylor and husband Brad of Hays; 14 grandchildren; and 12 
great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Katie Wachs; husband, Pete Klein; and brothers, Fred, Rex, and Ray Wachs.


Laura had a deep love and devotion for her husband, children, 
family, and friends.  Her great love and faith in God was not only a 
constant source of strength for herself, but also for all who knew her. 
She will be greatly missed, but the celebration of her life and memories
 will never be forgotten.

 Francis and Mary Robben. James attended Angelus Grade School, Westmont 
Seminary, in Chicago, IL and then St. Joseph’s Military Academy, in 
Hays, KS. On August 16, 1955, Jim married Luella Truetken, in Park, KS. 
Jim and his brother Francis started Robben Garage. Within a few years, 
they formed a partnership to open Oakley Motors. The dealership grew 
under Jim’s leadership. He received many awards for being a Chrysler 5 
Star Dealer. Over time, implements, such as New Holland and Allis 
Chalmers, were added to the business. Jim was also involved in his 
community. He served as president of the Oakley Chamber of Commerce, 
president of the Oakley Jaycees, as well as the state vice-president of 
the Kansas Jaycees and was a long-time volunteer for the Logan County 
Fair barbeque. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a 4th 
degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was involved in the 
formation of St. Joseph’s Catholic School. Jim loved fishing, hunting, 
traveling, dancing and watching NASCAR and Stock Car racing. He also 
enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and
 getting to eat Luella’s cooking.


Jim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Francis Robben, 
Theodore Robben, Rose Mary Beckman, Jerome Robben and Annette Moorhous 
and grandson, Justin Robben.


He is survived by his wife, Luella; children, Jim and Francine 
(Huelsman) Robben, Jan and Vern Kinderknecht, Jerry and Maxine 
(Huelsman) Robben, Carla and Rob Schiltz and Stan and Celia (Jahnke) 
Robben; grandchildren, Kelsey and Jake Martin, Kimberly and Matt Fine, 
Amy Kinderknecht and Zach Kadolph, Kay and Jonathon Launspach, Sara and 
Mitch Kochman, Bridget and Kyle Pearcy, Andrew Robben, Isaac Schiltz and
 Lexi Hunter and Mason Schiltz; great grandchildren, Jadyn, Jordyn and 
Jenna Martin, Asher and Ella Fine, Kaia Launspach and Allie Pearcy and

Hazel Irene Reynolds, age 85, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, April 23, 2020 from Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas.  Hazel was born March 1, 1935 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Curtis Palmer &amp; Laura Juanita ( Morgan ) Woods.  A lifetime resident of Greeley County, Kansas, she was a farm wife and homemaker.

Hazel attended Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Leoti, Kansas. 

On December 26, 1954 she married Harold Edward Reynolds, Jr. in Tribune, Kansas.  Junior passed away on June 27, 1985 in Tribune, Kansas.

Hazel’s surviving family includes three children-Joe &amp; Jannifer Reynolds, Jim Reynolds and Jill &amp; Octavio Vazquez, Sr. all of Tribune, Kansas.  A daughter-in-law, Karen Reynolds of Tribune, Kansas; a brother, Dale Woods of Aurora, Colorado and nine grandchildren including Kayla &amp; Phillip Hamman, Dustin Reynolds, Chasity &amp; Dustin Fritzmeier, Brandy &amp; Scott Clevenger, Tyrell &amp; Katy Reynolds, Erik Vazquez, Aaron Vazquez, Octavio &amp; Bianca Vazquez, Jr. and Yuliana Vazquez.  Also included are nineteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Leon L. Johnson, age 71, of Goodland passed away Monday, April 20, 
2020.&nbsp; He was born April 1, 1949 to Buck and Glessner (Sears) Johnson in
 St. Francis, Kansas.&nbsp; Leon grew up in Denver, Colorado where he 
attended Sabin Elementary through 6th grade, O’Doule middle school for 
7th and 8th grade, and John F. Kennedy High School where he was in their
 first graduating class of 1967.&nbsp;&nbsp; On November 16, 1969 he married Carol
 Perizzolo in Denver.&nbsp; To this union two children were born, Leon 
Douglas and Jeanne Lynn.&nbsp; &nbsp;

After attending Community College in Denver, Leon began working at 
General Iron Works until moving to Kansas in 1971 where he worked for 
Great Western Sugar Company in Goodland.&nbsp; When Great Western Sugar 
Company closed, he began working for Sherman County Road and Bridge 
where he worked for&nbsp;36 years, he was a road crew supervisor until his 
death.&nbsp;

He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Goodland.&nbsp; He enjoyed 
being an avid fisherman, and hunter for deer, elk and pheasant.&nbsp; Not a 
single day went by that he didn’t have one of the grandkids with him 
teaching them something about hunting, fishing or fixing something.&nbsp; 
Leon and Carol celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 16,
 2019, he loved spending time with all of his family and friends.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Douglas (Shauna) of Goodland;
 daughter, Jeanne Stasser of Goodland; grandchildren:&nbsp; Alyson and Chase 
Johnson of Goodland; Coy and Dusty Johnson of Hays, KS; Jordan Garza of 
Goodland; Blake Stasser of Greeley, CO; Tristen and Clay Stasser of 
Goodland; great grandchildren, Logan, Jameson, Lio and Conor; and many 
other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brother, Lonnie Reeves.

Kathryn “Kathy” Louise Goad, 62, passed away April 24, 2020, at her 
home in Great Bend. She was born on April 2, 1958, at Garden City, to 
Norman and Margaret (Klaus) Becker. She married Jeffrey “Jeff” Goad, on 
June 8, 1983, at Great Bend. He survives.&nbsp;

A long-time resident of Great Bend, Kathy was a secretary at Great 
Bend High School. She previously had worked as a bookkeeper for Kelly's 
Water Well Service and as a bank teller at several local banks. She was a
 member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 
and the Altar Society. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and 
coworkers, but especially loved spending time with her family.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Survivors include her husband, Jeff Goad of the home; daughter, 
Emily Goad of Great Bend; mother-in-law, Doris Goad of Great Bend; 
siblings, William Becker, Wanda Marques (Michael, Elizabeth Fine, 
Robert Becker (Janelle, James Becker (Christina, Donna Mastin (Danny,
 David Becker (Lynett); sister-in-law, Sandy (Goad) Zadina (Chuck); and 
numerous nieces, nephews and additional extended family. She was

Kathryn 'Kathy' Louise Goad

Bobbie King, 93, long time former resident of St. Charles, Illinois and current resident of the Marshes of Skidaway Island, Savannah, Georgia, died peacefully April 23, 2020 surrounded by her beloved daughters. &nbsp;

Bobbie was born April 20, 1927 in Schenectady, New York, and was the pride and joy of her late parents Stephen and Rhea Miller.&nbsp; She grew up in Schenectady and it was there where she met and married the love of her life her life, Bertram J. “Bert” King, on April 12, 1947.&nbsp; Together they built a beautiful family and were the example of true love to each other and their children. &nbsp; Bert’s career at 3M took them to many parts of the country finally taking them to St. Charles, Illinois in 1969.

She was both a woman of her time and yet was quintessentially modern.&nbsp; Bobbie was utterly devoted to her family but still found the time to found a thriving real estate business, Bobbie King Realty, in St. Charles, Illinois. In recognition of her accomplishments in business the Fox Valley Board of Realtors named her President of the Board and Realtor of the year in 1989.&nbsp; Bobbie was managing broker at Starck Realty and Fox Valley Realtors. She was actively involved selling real estate into her late 80’s, a fifty-year career. &nbsp;

Bobbie was an avid bridge player with many master points.&nbsp; She always said you will never be lonely if you play cards and that proved true when she moved to the Marshes at Skidaway Island in 2017.&nbsp; She found many friends there whom she dearly loved and will surely miss.&nbsp; She often said she wished she moved to the Marshes sooner.&nbsp; Bobbie loved the city of Savannah, it’s history, charm, weather and restaurants.&nbsp;

Bobbie was also a longtime member of St. Charles Country Club.&nbsp; She loved to entertain and was an accredited master flower arranger and flower show judge.&nbsp; Her table was always adorned with beautifully arranged flowers.&nbsp; Bobbie had a passion for antiques and she collected many beautiful items.&nbsp; Her home was a reflection of her taste and style.

The greatest treasure of her life was her family.&nbsp; She is survived by her three loving daughters, Cynthia Harkins of Hawthorne, New Jersey, Pamela (Robert) Richey of Savannah, Georgia and Barbara (Thomas) Wasinger of Hays, Kansas; her seven loving grandchildren Matthew (Victoria) Wasinger, Andrew Wasinger, Anne Marie (Garrett) Hager, Mark Wasinger, Lauren (Ryan) Doyle, Stephen Smith and Douglas Harkins; her two great-grandchildren, Gentry Hager and Isabella Wasinger.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bertram Joseph King and her parents Stephen and Rhea Miller.&nbsp;

Rita A. (Pfannenstiel) Bieker, 94, Hays, peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Via Christi Village in Hays.

She was born November 22, 1925 in Hays,
 the daughter of Joe M. and Sophie (Rupp) Pfannenstiel.&nbsp; She grew up on a
 farm close to Hays and attended school in Hays.&nbsp; On September 20, 1948 
she was united in marriage to Marvin J. Bieker, and they celebrated 
nearly 34 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 30, 
1982.&nbsp; Rita was a homemaker and a terrific cook and seamstress.&nbsp; She 
assisted Marvin with many farm activities.&nbsp; After the death of her 
husband, she moved to Hays and worked at Bickle Fabrics and later 
Wal-Mart until she retired.&nbsp; She especially enjoyed spending time with 
her grandchildren and so loved playing cards in which she was involved 
in many clubs.&nbsp; She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church
 and the St. Nicholas Ladies Guild.

Survivors include two sons; Dale Bieker
 and wife Joyce of Sun City, AZ and Keith Bieker and wife Donna of Hays,
 two daughters; Brenda Stewart and husband Steve of Hays and Myra Taylor
 and husband John of Salina, seven grandchildren; Blake Bieker (Trisha,
 Brandy Hatheway (Mike, Kelsey Bieker, Shelby Stewart, Aaron Stewart, 
Austin Cart, and Connor Cart, three step-grandchildren; Audrea Marciano,
 Amy Stewart, and Tiffany Clark, six great grandchildren; Brady, Jake, 
and Savanna Bieker, Lauren Hatheway, Ashlyn Taylor, and Rylie Cart, six 
step- great grandchildren; Elijah, Asia, Quincy, Jewelysia, Francesco, 
and Giuliana, a sister-in-law; Rose Ann Bieker of Schoenchen, and 
numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her 
parents, her husband, two brothers; Ignatius and Edward Pfannenstiel, 
seven sisters; Matilda “Tillie” Wittman, Sister M. Carmelyn, Philomena 
“Minnie” Lang, Mary Ann Schmeidler, Edna Jane and Albertine 
Pfannenstiel, and infant Jeanette, and a step grandson; Jonathan Taylor

Once restrictions are lifted from the 
current global pandemic, arrangements will be planned and announced for a
 celebration of her life, including a Mass of Christian Burial at St. 
Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church and a graveside service in St. Anthony 
Cemetery, Schoenchen.&nbsp; Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Chapel at

Rita A. (Pfannenstiel) Bieker

Tom Robinson, 80, went to be with Jesus our Lord on Wednesday, April 
22, 2020, at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born
 on August 14, 1939, to parents Ruben Harry &amp; Florence Elizabeth 
(Hayward) Robinson in Great Bend, KS.

He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1957, and then studied at
 Hutchinson Junior College and Phillips University before returning to 
Great Bend. He spent most of his working career in Great Bend as 
Distribution Center Manager for Orscheln Farm &amp; Home.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He married DeAnna Kay Brack on October 27, 1963, and they had one 
daughter, Jennifer, in August of 1971. He was a former member of the 
First Christian Church in Great Bend, the Vintage Wheels Car Club and an
 active member of the Vintage Motorbike Club. He loved to collect 
classic cars, motorbikes and all things vintage. He especially loved 
spending time with his family and was thrilled to welcome his first and 
only grandchild in 2007. A Great Bend resident for most of his life, 
Tom, with DeAnna, moved to Lee’s Summit, MO, in 1999, and then to Broken
 Arrow, OK, in 2003, both times to be close to Jennifer.

Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Henry, and her husband, Joe, of 
Broken Arrow, and their son Jake Henry; his sister-in-law, Dianne Brack,
 of Farmington, NM, and a whole herd of nieces, nephews and cousins. He 
was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, DeAnna Robinson; and 
siblings, Clell Flowers, Richard Flowers and Marion Komarek.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 
27, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 
11:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2020, with Pastor Morita Truman presiding,
 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. A recording will be available

Janis Louise (Whitmore) Pritts was born to Ray and Verde Whitmore in a sod house in Scott County, KS November 21, 1932. She passed away April 17, 2020 after family farewells.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everett "Ed" Pritts, her son Timothy Carl, and her brother David Whitmore.

She is survived by siblings: Dr. Richard (Shirley) Whitmore, Josie Bonorris, Jim (Kathy) Whitmore, Ethel (Richard) VanCampen; and her children: Vivian (Marshall) Lane, Kathi (John) Majernik, Marjorie (Mike) Dodd, and John Carl, Jr.&nbsp;

She had 7 grandchildren: Casey Vetter, Calvin Dodd, Amanda Truan, Katie Cupp, Matthew Majernik, Melissa and Michael Carl.&nbsp; Janis also had 11 great-grandchildren: Colten, Darian, Isis, Jake, Coy, Paige, Abigail, Audrey, Addison, Alexandria and Zachariah "Ry".

As a young girl she worked in Scott County as a waitress, milking cows for neighbors and caring young children. In Oklahoma she worked as a cook and also worked in pediatrics. She worked as a CNA in nursing homes and hospitals. She had good work ethics and took many different jobs that were available.

She persevered and was a strong lady even though she had a rough life raising 5 children on her own. Janis and her 5 kids moved to Goodland in 1968, where she accomplished getting her GED in 1969.&nbsp; She also held a job as secretary in Goodland, KS where she met her second husband Ed, and they were married in 1973.

Janis found joy and comfort in spending time with her family with whom she had the most loving heart. Her smile radiated with happiness when she held a baby.&nbsp; Jan will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her well.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Janis may be made out to her daughter Kathi Majernik to be used to final expenses and may be sent to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave, Goodland, KS 67735.

Graveside services will be held at the Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, KS on June 10, 2020 at a time yet to be determined. &nbsp;

Mary Anna Ullrich, an amazingly strong woman with a loving heart, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 in Lawrence, Kansas. &nbsp;

She grew up on a farm just east of Goodland, Kansas with her brothers Bill, Norman, and sister Ada in the time of the Dust Bowl and the Depression.&nbsp; When she was a small child, her family loaded up in the Model T and drove on dirt highways and roads from Goodland to Canada to visit relatives.&nbsp; What an endeavor that must have been. &nbsp;

Mary Anna had the most beautiful handwriting and when she was in grade school, her penmanship was used by the high school to show students what good writing skills could be attained by a dedicated mind.&nbsp; She learned to fly an airplane at the Goodland airport. &nbsp; That is how she met Robert Ullrich and they married on June 2nd, 1945.&nbsp; Mary Anna brought into the world and raised seven children on a farm southwest of Colby, Kansas.&nbsp; She worked hard to provide for her family and protected her children without smothering them. &nbsp;
