Ellis Harper McClaren

Ellis Harper McClaren, 68, died Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart.

He was born January 16, 1952 at the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, the son of Leto and Estella (West) McClaren. Ellis was raised in Mullinville where he enjoyed playing football and building friendships. He received his Bachelors from Fort Hays State University and was a teacher for a short time. He worked as a custodian at the Area Mental Health Center (now Compass Behavioral Health) in Dodge City for approximately 15 years.

Survivors include: his sister, Anna Hartnett, Pratt, niece, Sara Moore, nephew, Phillip McClaren and numerous close friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred McClaren.

Private family services will be held. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
