Former Agra resident, Arlan H. Johnson, passed away Wednesday, 
December 23, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS at the 
age of 82.

He was born April 16, 1938 in Franklin County, Nebraska near Upland, 
the son of John H. and Anna L. (Jurgens) Johnson.&nbsp; Arlan graduated from 
the Hildreth High School in 1956.&nbsp; He served in the United States Navy 
from August of 1956 until he was honorably discharged in July of 1958.

Arlan worked as an electrical lineman for REA-Peterson Electric and 
the City of Sabetha.&nbsp; He had a small farm and enjoyed raising 
livestock.&nbsp; For the last seven years, he worked at the Apostolic 
Christian Home in Sabetha, where he buffed many floors for them.&nbsp; In his
 free time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, spending time with family 
and friends.&nbsp; He loved going to the casino and doing yard work. He was a
 real handyman and enjoyed helping friends, family, and neighbors. 
“Never Fear, Arly is Here” was heard by many as he announced his 
arrival.

Arlan was united in marriage to Louise Mason on December 4, 1970 in Sabetha, KS.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on August 18, 2012.

Others preceding him in death include his parents Henry and Louisa; brother Vern; and a grandson Raymond Nix.

Survivors include his son Mark Verhage and wife Carolyn of Glade, KS;
 daughters Jean Rice of Richmond, TX, Penny Campbell and husband Randy 
and Bev Meyer and husband Mark, both of Sabetha, KS; a sister Maxine 
Sanger and husband Ron of Phillips, NE; 9 grandchildren; 13 great 
grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

A private family service will be Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:30 
a.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.&nbsp; The services 
will be streamed live on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Funeral-Service---Cemetery/Olliff-Boeve-Memorial-Chapel-158648587502325/">Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page</a>.&nbsp; A public burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in the Woodston Cemetery, Woodston, KS.

Mr. Johnson will lie in state from Noon until 9 PM Sunday at the 
Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with the family receiving 
friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. that evening for visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Agra Lake Fund.

Arlan H. Johnson

William “Bill” Brungardt, age 79, of Branson, Missouri, passed away 
on December 22, 2020.&nbsp; Bill was born in Hays, Kansas, on October 30, 
1941, to H. F. “Ham” and Regina Brungardt. Preceded in death by his 
parents, brother H. James, and sister Joyce Ann.

Bill and Marcie were married for 56 years and had three children, 
Brenda, Michael, and Kurt.&nbsp; He was a devoted husband, father, papa, and 
great-grandfather.&nbsp; He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic 
Church.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army after attending Kansas University 
in Lawrence, Kansas.&nbsp; He graduated from Fort Hays State College with a 
degree in Business Administration.&nbsp; He owned and operated a Western Auto
 Hardware Store in Victoria, Kansas, until 1979 when he moved to Rogers,
 Arkansas, to spend time in the Ozarks enjoying the great outdoors with 
his family.&nbsp; He retired from Moser’s in 2007 after 28 years of service.&nbsp;
 After 38 years in Rogers, Bill, and his wife moved to Branson, 
Missouri.&nbsp; He enjoyed the local music shows, new friends from the area, 
and being close to his great-grandson.

Some of his favorite pastimes were restoring antique cars, boating, 
skiing, attending NASCAR races and football games with his family.&nbsp; He 
had a strong faith, sweet demeanor, a good sense of humor, and a loving 
smile.

He is survived by the love of his life, Marcie, and his children 
Brenda and Brian Hedrick, Mike and Jennifer Brungardt, and Kurt and 
Heidi Brungardt.&nbsp; He is also survived by his grandchildren Megan and 
fiancé Jacob Huckabey, Abby and Josh Smith, Matt and Alicia Brungardt, 
Luke and Jordan Brungardt, Sarah Brungardt, Rachel Brungardt, and 
great-grandson Jackson William Smith.

His memorial will be closed to the public. In lieu of flowers, please
 make a donation the Parkinson’s Foundation. Arrangements and cremation 
are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

William 'Bill' Brungardt

Rickey Lee Schaffer, 67, died December 22, 2020, in Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, Kansas. He was born July 12, 1953, in La Crosse, Kansas the son of Christian John “Johnny” and Lorraine (Depperschmidt) Schaffer. 

Rick attended La Crosse High School. He was owner and operator of Greensburg Oilfield Service and Eagle Environmental Services. Rick had served on the Greensburg City Council and was the past-president of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association. 

He is survived by two sisters Debra Haas and husband Maurice, La Crosse and Sharon Staley and husband Henry, Concordia, Kansas, one daughter Kerri Ulrich and husband Douglas, Greensburg, one son Jason Schaffer and wife Shelby, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, five Grandchildren Morgen, Kaden, Hope, Keara and Grayson, and one Great-grandchild due any day now. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services and Celebration of Rick’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg with Pastor Chu presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27 at the church. Masks will be required.

Rex E. Rowh, 74, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born November 6, 1946 in Norton Kansas, the son of Donald and 
Dorothy (Vanover) Rowh.&nbsp; He was a 1965 graduate of Jennings High School,
 attended Ft. Hays State University and on June 10, 1967 he married Ann 
Votapka at Jennings, Kansas and this year they celebrated their 53rd
 anniversary.&nbsp; They moved to Cimarron from Clayton, Kansas over 50 years
 ago.&nbsp; Rex worked for Sid Warner for over 20 years, Tim Dewey for 20 
years and Cimarron Feeders until retiring in 2017.

He was a member of Pawnee Acer Community Building, Kalvesta and was 
an active volunteer with the Gray County Fair. Rex was known as a hard 
worker who loved his children, enjoyed spending time with his 
grandchildren and attending their school sports activities. Rex’s 
favorite past time was fishing with his many friends. Rex was actively 
involved in the cattle operation of Rowh Angus Ranch, Jennings KS.

Survivors include: their 3 children, Jodi Rowh Inguanza and husband 
Raymond, Cimarron, Kip Rowh and companion Stacy Hilbrich, Bay City, 
Texas and Jason Rowh, Jennings, Kansas; his brother, Wayne Rowh and 
wife, Carol, Morganville Kansas; 2 sisters, Sheryl Goodman, Scott City 
and Shirley Smith and husband Alan, Bever City Nebraska; 7

Ann Rowh, 71, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

She was born February 13, 1949 in Oberlin, Kansas, the daughter of 
George and Mary (Johnson) Votapka.&nbsp; She was a graduate of Jennings High 
School and on June 10, 1967 she married Rex Rowh in Jennings, Kansas. 
This year they celebrated their 53rd anniversary.&nbsp; They moved
 to Cimarron from Jennings over 50 years ago.&nbsp; She was a Para Legal for 
Kyler Knobbe Law Office in Cimarron for more than 40 years.&nbsp;

Ann was the Treasurer for the Gray County Fair Board for over 20 
years and spent many hours preparing and serving her infamous fair board
 beans. Ann was a member of the Gray/Ford County Legal Professional 
Association and held several elected office positions at the local, 
state, and national levels. She was also a member of the Pawnee Acer 
Community Building in Kalvesta.&nbsp; Ann loved to cook and bake and prepared
 food for numerous fund-raising events and funerals. She was very well 
known for her coconut and chocolate cream pies.

Survivors include: their 3 children, Jodi Rowh Inguanza and husband 
Raymond, Cimarron, Kip Rowh and companion Stacy Hilbrich, Bay City, 
Texas and Jason Rowh, Jennings, Kansas; her brother, Tom “Mot” Votapka,

Sharon A. Wilson, 63, Salina, died 
Friday, December 25, 2020 at the Salina Regional Health Center.&nbsp; She was
 born March 25, 1957 in Smith Center to Robert and Betty (Fobes) Wilson.

Sharon was working at Lowe’s in Salina at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are her siblings, Diane Larson, Bob, Jerry, Richard, and Curtis Wilson.

Juanita Irene Burkhead, age 63, of Wilson, formerly of Oakley, passed
 away on December 18, 2020, at Wilson Care and Rehabilitation, Wilson.&nbsp; 
She was born on January 4, 1957, in Missouri to Ernest and Irene 
(Engelhardt) West. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and 
was a homemaker.&nbsp; Juanita married Gerald Reed Burkhead, Sr. on December 
15, 1997, in Oakley.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Irene, husband,

Anthony Benedict “Tony” Malsom, 99, died December 24, 2020, at Hays 
Medical Center, Hays.&nbsp; He was born October 16, 1921 at Hays, to Fred and
 Mary (Keller) Malsom.&nbsp; Tony married Beata (Dinkel) Sept. 27, 1944, in 
Collyer.&nbsp; Beata died June 18, 2000.&nbsp; He then married Flossie (Meyeres) 
Ptacek Oct. 28, 2006, in Great Bend.&nbsp; She survives.

Tony, a Great Bend resident and retired farmer moving from Collyer, 
proudly served his country during WW II, in the U.S. Army.&nbsp; After 
returning home at the end of the war he and his wife, Bea, began to 
build their life in Collyer, KS. Initially he opened a small welding 
shop, then a general repair shop, a liquor store and eventually took on 
the Ford Tractor Implement dealership. Tony was currently a member of 
Prince of Peace Parish and life member of American Legion Argonne Post 
180, both of Great Bend, and former member of the V.F.W. and St. Michael
 Catholic Church,&nbsp; both in Collyer.&nbsp; Over the years, he has enjoyed 
dancing, flying, midget and stock car racing, boating, skydiving, and 
zip lining.

He was fortunate to have a very full life filled with family and 
friends that he dearly cherished, and that cherished him as well. He was
 preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mary (Keller) Malsom, his 
step mother, Kate (Richmeier) Malsom, his first wife, Beata, grandson, 
Eric; brothers, George, Larry, Frank, Carl, Ted, John, Steve, Laverne, 
and Richard. His surviving family is his wife, Florence “Flossie”; four 
children Dwayne Malsom of Ellis, Karen Jones (Roger) of Aurora, Col., 
Darlene Malsom, The Woodlands, Texas and Keith Malsom (Donna) of Ft. 
Collins, Col.; five step children, Karen Bond (Greg) of Sylvan Grove, 
Duane Ptacek of Yutan, Neb., Ron Ptacek (Virginia) of Russell, Rick 
Ptacek (Kim) of Victoria and Keith Ptecek of the home; siblings, 
Katherine Reitmayer of Quinter, Jim Yanda (Gwen) of White Salmon, Wash.,
 Barbara Kinderknecht (Tom) of Park, Carol McIntosh (Allen) of Quinter 
and Rita Mader (Kirby) of Quinter; five grand children, eight great

Anthony Benedict 'Tony' Malsom

Paul Leon Babcock Jr., age 73, passed away surrounded by his loving 
family, Wednesday December 23, 2020, in Quinter, Kansas at the Gove 
County Medical Center after losing his hard-fought battle with 
Alzheimer’s. 
 Paul was born on August 28, 1947, to Paul Sr. and Irene (Schoenfeld) 
Babcock. He was the second of three children. Paul grew up on the 
family farm East of Hoxie, Kansas, and attended Sheridan Community High 
School, graduating with the Class of 1965. While in high school, Paul 
was a member of both the wrestling and football teams. Following 
graduation, he attended Fort Hays State University, graduating with a 
Bachelor of Science Degree. He continued his education at Kansas State 
University to earn his teaching credentials. Paul married his High 
School sweetheart and the love of his life, Vicki L. Hujing, on July 
9th, 1967. Paul built their home just outside of Hoxie, Kansas and they
 were blessed with two children, Greg and Amy. 
 Paul was a Vocational Agriculture and Metal Shop Teacher in Hoxie 
for thirty-five years, and taught woodworking in Morland, Kansas for 2 
years after his retirement. He was also an FFA Advisor, 4-H leader and 
high school wrestling coach. He loved mentoring and teaching life 
skills to his students, and was affectionately known to many as “Mr. B.”
 But though he loved teaching, farming was in his blood, and he was 
also proud to farm the homesteaded land of his great-grandfather. He 
often worked long hours, heading to the field as soon as school was out,
 but he never complained. He said he needed to teach to support his 
farming habit. 
 Though teaching and farming didn’t leave a lot of free time, Paul 
loved hunting and fishing, watching NASCAR and football, and drawing 
wildlife and nature scenes. He believed in living a simple life, and 
was a man of honesty and integrity. He rarely cursed unless he was 
working on his farm equipment. Paul was a member of the Immanuel 
Lutheran Church, Kansas Bow Hunters Association, and Pheasants Forever. 
 He was also a Hunter Education Instructor, and was proud to be selected
 as the State Hunter Education Instructor of the Year. But most of all,
 he loved spending time with Vicki, his kids and his grandkids. They 
were the light of his life. 
 Paul is survived by his wife Vicki of the home; son, Greg and wife 
Debbie of Lincoln, Kansas; daughter, Amy McMahon and husband Kieran of 
North Richland Hills, Texas; and Grandchildren, Tyler Jackson, Trevor 
Jackson, Lily Johnson, Kennedy McMahon, Drew McMahon, Dylan Babcock, and
 Kaylee Babcock.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul L. Sr. and Irene Babcock Coulter and grandparents.
 A Funeral Service is planned for Monday, December 28, 2020, at 10:30
 A.M. at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home. Immediately following the 
service, interment will take place in the Hoxie City Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27, 2020 from Noon until 6:00 
P.M. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 
P.M. all at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home. They would also appreciate

Troy L. Byer, 59, passed away December 25, 2020, at Kansas Heart 
Hospital, Wichita. He was born January 28, 1961, at Dodge City, to 
William and Sylvia Kay (Kaiser) Byer. He married Sandra S. Zajic on 
January 1, 2003, at Holyrood.

A Great Bend resident for most of his life, Troy worked for CUNA 
Mutual Retirement Solutions as an operations specialist. He was a member
 of Church of Christ, SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), and a 
former boy scout leader.

Survivors include, his wife Sandy Byer of the home; four sons, Jack 
Byer of Austin, Tex., George Byer and wife Elaina of Great Bend, William
 Byer and wife Priya of Portland, Ore., and Bobby Oller and wife Sam of 
Larned; three daughters, Cheri Viles and husband Tim of Manhattan, Sonja
 Pope and husband Allen of Springfield, Mo., and Susan Leech and husband
 Christopher of Salina; a brother Von Byer of Austin, Tex.; two sisters,
 Vicki Caravalho of Bartlesville, Okla., and Carla Byer of Great Bend; 
and nine grandchildren, Taryn Viles, Caelie Viles, Sylvia Pope, Allora

Betty L. Banks, 91, died December 25, 2020, at Great Bend. She was 
born March 27, 1929, in Great Bend, Kansas to Kenneth and Agnus (Flory) 
Clawson. She married Wayne “Buzz” Banks at the First United Methodist 
Church in Great Bend on May 22, 1955. She worked more than 30 years for 
the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, as first an operator then a 
business representative, and 23 years at the American Legion.

Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Great 
Bend, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, past president of
 the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, member of the Veterans of 
Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Elks Ladies, Cougar Booster 
Club and the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce. Betty and Wayne were 
founding members of the Sunflower Polk Club and taught dance lessons 
from their home. IN addition to her love of dance, Betty was an avid 
bowler, winning the class C KWBA all events state championship on 1973 
and enjoyed playing bingo. Betty had the distinction of being voted the 
second most perfect baby at the 1929 Barton County Fair.

Betty is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Clawson; her 
mother, Agnus Merrington; and brother, Floyd Clawson. Betty is survived 
by her husband, Wayne “Buzz” Banks, of the home; a son, Jerry Banks 
Jasnoski of Wichita; a son, James Banks Jasnoski and wife Trisha of 
Wichita; a daughter, Mary Banks Jasnoski Greggerson and husband Chris of
 Leavenworth; and son, David Banks and wife Peggy of Wichita; seven 
grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great great 
grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3,

Betty L. Banks

Veta Mae Burress, 104, passed away December 25, 2020, at her home 
south of Great Bend.&nbsp; She was born September 14, 1916, in Alma, Ark., to
 Porter Irving and Mertie (Hamby) Gregory. Veta married August A. 
Burress May, 1938, in Oklahoma.&nbsp; He died Nov. 18, 1965.

Veta, a longtime resident of Great Bend, was a self-employed 
residential and office cleaner for many years.&nbsp; She was a member of 
Church of Christ, Great Bend, and enjoyed the many social fellowship 
opportunities that the church had to offer.&nbsp; Veta enjoyed vegetable 
gardening, flower gardening, baking, cooking, canning and hand stitched 
quilting.&nbsp;

Survivors include one son, Glen Burress of Ellinwood; three

Burress May, 1938, in Oklahoma.&nbsp; He died Nov. 18, 1965.Veta, a longtime resident of Great Bend, was a self-employed 
residential and office cleaner for many years.&nbsp; She was a member of 
Church of Christ, Great Bend, and enjoyed the many social fellowship 
opportunities that the church had to offer.&nbsp; Veta enjoyed vegetable 
gardening, flower gardening, baking, cooking, canning and hand stitched 
quilting.&nbsp;Survivors include one son, Glen Burress of Ellinwood; three

Opal Louise Bunting, 85, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at the Main Street Manor Care Center in Russell, Kansas.

Opal was born on July 26, 1935, in Partridge, Kansas, the daughter of Edmond and Ethel (Nelson) Blew.  She grew up in Sylvia, Kansas, and graduated from Sylvia Rural High School.  After high school she met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Conrad Eugene Bunting on August 28, 1955, in Sylvia, Kansas.  From this union they were blessed with 3 children Cindy, Curtis and Chris.  She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Buckeye Supply Company for 15 years. Then, she was employed at DSNWK and later KO Beef and worked well into her mid-seventies. She was a longtime member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell, Kansas.  She enjoyed, in her younger years, fishing, camping and traveling in their camper.  In her later years, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and church activities.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her daughter Cindy Hoferer and husband Paul of O’Neill, Nebraska; sons Curtis Bunting of Olmitz, Kansas and Chris Bunting of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 2 brothers Willie Blew of Stafford, Kansas and Beryl Blew and wife Twila of Sylvia, Kansas and sister Lola Mandeville and husband Jim of Hutchinson, Kansas.  Five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Conrad on March 26, 1999. A celebration of Opal’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas.  Due to weather concerns the services will conclude at the mortuary.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the mortuary. She was born May 31, 1925 to Daniel Ward and Eva Blanche (Hallett) 
Andrews at the Larned, Kansas home. She married Gerald Jay Shottenkirk 
August 8, 1943 and they lived in Pawnee County for 59 years. He died 
September 19, 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Toll and
 her husband, Perry, Gravois Mills, Missouri, and Linda Sidney Ideker 
and her husband, Welton, Rozel, Kansas, and a son Jay Craig Shottenkirk 
and his wife, Sheila, Great Bend, Kansas, six grandchildren, twelve 
great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She was 
preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother-in-law, Helen 
and Walter Losey, a brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Lollie Andrews.

She retired from Larned State Hospital with thirty-one years of 
service. She was a lifetime member of the Larned United Methodist 
Church, she was a past member of United Methodist Women, Order of the 
Eastern Star, Li-Ar-Mu Club, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and
 Pawnee County Humane Society. She was a Sunday School Teacher and a 
Girl Scout Leader.

A private family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. 
Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Garfield Cemetery, Garfield, Kansas with 
Bob Sallee presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday,

Dale Francis Pfannenstiel, age 58, of Hays, Kansas died Thursday, December 24, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on November 24, 1962, in Hays, Kansas to Francis J. and Mildred Louise (Karlin) Pfannenstiel.&nbsp; He married Julie Ann (Mermis) on October 21, 1989, at Ellis, Kansas.

He worked a number of years at Eagle Cable TV in Hays, and the last few years at HESS Services.&nbsp; He also worked at Pepsi and Coors in Hays.&nbsp; Dale grew up in Antonino and Hays, attended Antonino Grade School, Thomas More Prep High, and was a 1982 graduate of Hays High School.&nbsp; He enjoyed camping, the Andy Griffith Show, and his dogs.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Julie Pfannenstiel, of the home; six daughters, Cassandra Davied and husband, Scott; Rachel Klaus and husband, Luke; Rebecca Brady and husband, Aaron, all of Hays, KS; Amanda Pfannenstiel, Wichita, KS; Lacey Pfannenstiel and Lindsey Pfannenstiel, both of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Denise Becker and husband, Mark, Plainville, KS; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank B. and Mary (Rupp) Mermis, Hays, KS; one brother-in-law, Jerry Mermis, Hays, KS; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Mermis; Benita Meyers and husband, Steve, both of Hays, KS; his cousin, James Leiker and wife, Cherie, Shawnee, KS; five grandchildren, Evan, Levi and Adam Brady; DeShon Williams-Shepherd and Timothy Smith; and his four dogs, Malea, Alex, Sadie and Aussie.

Jack W. Luft, 82, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2020, at 
University of Kansas Health System- Great Bend Campus. He was born 
September 3, 1938 in Great Bend the son of Herman and Helen Luft. Jack 
was united in marriage to Wanda Wharton on August 7, 1976, at the First 
United Methodist Church, in Great Bend.

Jack was a lifetime resident of Great Bend. He was an Insurance 
adjuster for State farm for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns,
 and dog field trials. He loved being with his family, especially his 
grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include wife Wanda of the home; son Christopher Hughes of 
Wichita; daughter Wendy Litzenberger of Great Bend; brother Jim and wife
 Jody Luft; four grandchildren, Landon and Kylie Litzenberger, Sidney 
and Skyler Hughes and one great grandson Ashler Litzenberger; nieces and
 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Howard Luft and 
sisters Janice and Judy.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020,
 with family present 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home.

Janice "Jan" Colleen Williamson, 84, passed away December 24, 2020 at Kenwood Plaza, St. John, Kansas.

She was born July 26, 1936 in Emporia, Kansas; the daughter of W.W. 
and Mildred Johnston Osborn.&nbsp; A longtime Stafford County resident; she 
was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Macksville, was a 
self-taught painter, which she enjoyed doing in her spare time and 
enjoyed spending time with her family.

On January 1, 1955 she married Jerry Dean Williamson in Greensburg, Kansas.&nbsp; He passed away April 20, 2017.

Survivors include; three sons, Jeff (Shari) Williamson, St. John, 
Bill (Cathy) Williamson, Pawnee Rock, and Brian (Susy) Williamson, 
Macksville; a daughter Lori (Marty) Martin, Wamego; nine grandchildren, 
sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

&nbsp;She was preceded in death by; her husband, Jerry, and a sister, Deanna Bean.

Memorial graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31,

Christopher H. Ayers, 29, of Osborne, KS passed away on Sunday, 
December 20, 2020, in rural Osborne County, KS. &nbsp;He was born to Glen 
&amp; Becky (McCammon) Ayers of Osborne, KS. &nbsp;Chris&nbsp;was one of 
three&nbsp;children.

Christopher graduated from Osborne High School in 2010. &nbsp;He has 
&nbsp;worked &nbsp;at Circle Inn, &nbsp;Hartzler's Store &amp;&nbsp;Culligan Water Systems. 
&nbsp;In 2016, he started his own business, C.A Plumbing in Osborne, KS. &nbsp;

He attended Celebration Community Church in Hays, KS.

Chris was a man of adventure. &nbsp;He enjoyed bow fishing, hunting, 
riding dirt bikes &amp; 4-wheelers among the many activities 
he&nbsp;loved.&nbsp;Helping people was one thing he enjoyed. &nbsp;He was one of 
Osborne's Fire Fighters. &nbsp;He also tended to come as soon as someone had a
 plumbing issue, no matter the time of day or day of the week. &nbsp;Chris 
was a man of determination. &nbsp;He ran the Tough Mudder Race in Tulsa, OK 
on a broken leg. &nbsp;Chris enjoyed running his dog Cooper every day.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents: Keith &amp; Marie McCammon; Les Ayers; and Uncle&nbsp;Martin McCammon.

Chris is survived by his parents, Glen &amp; Becky Ayers; sister:

Juan G. Mendoza, 86, died Tuesday December 22, 2020, at St Catherine 
Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born March 8, 1934, in Langtry, 
Texas the son of Ines and Maria (Garcia) Mendoza. 
 His greatest love has always been and always will be Rosantina (Rosa). 
She survives. They married April 24, 1960, in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico. 
After 60 years of marriage, they had 6 treasured children, 17 grand 
children and 27 great grand children. All brought together under the 
same roof for over 55 years. Together they went through life hand in 
hand, heart to heart. They are the true definition of a love story, with
 one soul. With 66 years at each other’s side they were together more 
than they were apart. Rosa will never feel whole without him next to 
her, but she will be strong moving forward as the love they grew 
together surrounds her in endless memories, their beautiful family, and 
friends. 
He was a hard worker and had worked as a plumber. Juan enjoyed watching
 his Chicago Cubs, dancing and loving is family and friends. A man of 
principle and courage, he was always firm for what he believed in. It is
 from him that his family learned to stay strong. He was the kind of 
friend to give the shirt off his back. He loved unconditionally, and 
also could make light of any situation with his great sense of humor. He
 will always be remembered by his infectious smile, his ability to sing 
any song, his funny sayings, love of BBQ, and fried fish. 
 His family takes comfort knowing that our Grand Maker will reunite them
 again someday. "No se apuren, un dia vamos a estar todos juntos” were 
his favorite words of comfort. As they eagerly wait for that day, they
 keep him in their mind and hearts where his memory will live on for as 
long as they do. 
 In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Children-Jaime (Debbie) 
Mendoza of Hot Springs, AR, Cindy Mendoza of Garden City, Rosie Mendoza 
of Chicago, IL, Dina (Richard) Mohr of WaKeeney, KS, Sammy Mendoza of 
Cape Cod, MA; 17 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren &amp; 
Sister-Lydia Mendoza of San Antonio Texas .

Celebrant and will be broadcast live via the Garnand Funeral Home 
Facebook page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation 
will be 3:00 to 8:00pm at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City with a 
Rosary at 5:00pm also at Garnand Funeral Home.

Darleen Kay Bradford, 82, of Kansas City, Missouri and formerly of Okeechobee, Florida passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at her son’s home in Kansas City.

Darleen was born in Lyons, Kansas, on April 23, 1938, the daughter of Denzil F. and Jewel E. (Vaughn) Bradford.  She grew up in Kansas and graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1956 and went on to graduate from Asbury School of Nursing. Salina, Kansas in 1959.  She received her first Bachelor’s Degree in Dickinson, North Dakota and subsequent Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Nursing from Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.  Darleen got her single engine private pilot license when living in Indiana in 1967 and International Scuba Diving Certificate in 1972 when living in Okinawa, Japan.  After Retirement in 2003, she spent the next seven years traveling as a full time RVer.

Darleen is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Lucas Bradford of San Antonio, Texas and her son, Bret Lucas and wife Jenny of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Bret, J.Q., Megan and Liberty; and beloved sister, Sheila Connick of Okeechobee, Florida.

The family and friends of Darleen morn her passing and celebrate her life.  Darleen embraced the qualities of being brave, gentle and wise as her philosophy for living.  She touched all our lives in so many ways as a daughter, mother, sister, nurse and friend.  Darleen’s steadfast love for her children, family and friends, her unwavering concern for those she cared for as a nurse, and her lifelong dedication to her education and profession are collectively shared in our loving memory of her.

A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 28, 2020 at Russell City Cemetery in Russell, Kansas.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to Noon, Monday, December 28, 2020 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell.  Memorials have been established with Trinity United Methodist Church of Russell, Okeechobee Presbyterian Church of Florida or the Alzheimer’s Research at the Mayo Clinic. Marilyn Mills, age 67, of Gorham, 
Kansas, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the Russell Regional 
Hospital, Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born July 23, 1953, at Osborne, 
Kansas, to Conrad and Ann (Thummel) Mick.&nbsp; She married the love of her 
life,&nbsp; Dan&nbsp; Mills on July 3, 1976, at Cawker City, Kansas, and had 44 
years of cherished memories.

She was the manager at the Quick 
Connection Convenience Store in Gorham for 19 years.&nbsp; Marilyn grew up in
 Cawker City, and was a 1971 graduate of Cawker High School. &nbsp;She and 
Dan moved to Gorham in 1983.&nbsp; She was a member of the St. Mary’s 
Catholic Church in Gorham, and a member of the First Ladies Sunflower 
Club.&nbsp;

She enjoyed traveling especially to 
Branson, MO and was extremely talented in decorating.&nbsp; Marilyn could 
make a house into a warm, welcoming and beautiful home for her family.

Survivors include her husband, 
Dan, of the home; two sons, Brandon Mills, Topeka, KS; Ryan Mills and 
wife, Sarah, Maryville, MO; one brother, Lee Mick and wife, Denelle, 
Cawker City, KS; one sister, Rita Moritz, Cawker City, KS; her 
mother-in-law,&nbsp;Addie Mills, McCracken, KS; two sisters-in-law, Linda 
Mick, Glen Elder, KS; Marcia Mick, Concordia, KS; four grandchildren, 
Chase Cronk, Andrew Cronk, Jackson Mills, Benjamin Mills; many nieces 
and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her 
parents, her step-father, Gilbert Greiner; three brothers, Richard Mick,
 Gene Mick and Randy Mick; three sisters, Betty Hilgers, Millie Mick and
 Lois Otto.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main 
Street, Victoria, Kansas 67671 with Father Michael Elan officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;A

Melissa (Callaway) Chandler went home to be with her Lord and Savior
 Jesus on December 21, 2020. Missy was born in Coldwater, Kansas, on 
November 25, 1968, to Ron and Linda Callaway.

She was a graduate of Liberty University with a Master’s degree in 
Human Services, with a focus on marriage and family counseling. Missy 
was also working towards her Master’s degree in professional counseling 
with a focus on addiction treatment. She loved her job and the students 
she worked with at Ellinwood High School, where she was a Special 
Services Teacher Aide.

Missy was an animal lover and took in any creature that she thought 
she could help. She nursed many back to health and gave them a loving 
home. Missy had a great capacity to love. She will be remembered for her
 quirky personality, her determination, her fun nature, and her love for
 the New England Patriots. Her passing leaves a great void in the hearts
 of her friends and family. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her father, Ronald Callaway; her husband, David 
Chandler; her daughters, Michaela and Chrissy; her aunt, Tawnia; her 
sister, Marcy, and her cousin, Michael. She was preceded in death by her
 mother, Linda Callaway.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Services 
will be announced at a later date. Memorials are designated to aid the
