Larry R. Frusher, 73, passed away January 14, 2021 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City, KS.

He was born May 7, 1947 in Dodge City, KS. the son of Robert G. and 
Reta A. Jedlicka Frusher. A lifetime area resident he was a 
Farmer/Stockman.

He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church as well as an elder of the
 church and a Sunday school teacher, Pawnee Watershed board member and 
Hodgeman County Fairboard Treasurer. He attended the Union 1 rural 
school, graduated from Jetmore High School and attended Kansas State 
University.

He married Kathleen D. Brown July 15, 1978 in Cashion, OK. She survives.

Survivors include: two sons, Joey (Lacey) Frusher, Jetmore, Ben 
Frusher, Jetmore; one daughter, Bobbi (T.J.) Orton, Lorimor, IA.; one 
brother, Russell (Ronna) Frusher, Hanston; three sisters, Jo Ann Nuss, 
Jetmore, Betty (Victor) Eichman, Jetmore, Susan (Mike) Seybold, 
Stillwater, OK. and two grandchildren, Isla Jo Frusher and Samantha 
Grace Orton.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Katlyn Marie Orton.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 
Faith Fellowship Church, Hanston with Pastor Doug Ellison presiding. 
Service will be viewable via facebook live at <a href="http://www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary">www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary</a>.
 Visitation will be from 9am to 8pm Monday with family present from 6pm 
to 8pm at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at the 
Fairmount Cemetery following the service.

 Dental Mission International or the Raise the Roof on Haun Museum in

Mark Johnson Paschal, 67, of Luray, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side.

Mark was born December 18, 1953, in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; He was the son of Willis Albert “Bill” and Wilma Joyce (Johnson) Paschal.&nbsp; He grew up in Luray and graduated from Luray High School.&nbsp; He then attended and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in Animal Science and Industry.

Mark was united in marriage to Joann Amelia Loflin on July 24, 1982, in Ogallah, Kansas.&nbsp; This union was blessed with a daughter, Nicole.&nbsp; They made their home in Luray until 1996 when they moved out to the farm northeast of Luray.

Mark was a Farmer and Rancher.&nbsp; He raised pigs early on before raising mainly cattle.&nbsp; He produced wheat, soybeans, milo, alfalfa, sunflowers and corn.&nbsp; For over 30 years he was a EMT and First Responder for the Luray community.&nbsp; He was a volunteer fireman for Luray and was on the Directors for Fire Department.&nbsp; He was a member of the Luray United Methodist Church and he served on the Vincent Cemetery Board.&nbsp; He was one of the main cooks for the Luray Fish Fry for many years.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, reloading ammunition, photography and taking care of all types of animals.

Mark’s surviving family include his wife of 38 years, Joann of the home; daughter, Nicole Webber (Cameron) of Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters, Meredith Mense (Tim) of Shawnee, Kansas and Martha Powell (Ben) of Olathe, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Darrick Webber, Landyn Webber and Xylie Webber.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Vincent Cemetery north of Luray.&nbsp; Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, January 18, 2021, at the Luray United Methodist Church.&nbsp;

Loretta K. Small passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the Wilson
 Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wilson, KS, at the age of 51. She was
 born on October 2, 1969, to Jesse and Melba (Kindlesparger) Whitmer in 
Ellsworth, Kansas. 
 Loretta was a lifetime resident of Wilson. She attended Wilson High 
School and graduated with the Class of 1987. She went on to receive her 
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from Barton Community 
College in 1990. She then returned home to Wilson and married Jerry 
Small at the United Methodist Church in Wilson in 1990. She loved 
spending time with Jerry, and anything outdoors such as hunting, 
fishing, or being at the lake.

Loretta started work for Eschbaugh 
Advertising as a Screen Press Operator and later went to work for her 
husband’s Smoky Hill Body Shop. Loretta beat Hodgkin’s Disease but was 
in a debilitating boat wreck in 2002 that left her disabled and took 
Jerry’s life. Although the wreck left her paralyzed, it didn’t dull her 
shine. She could tell you exactly how she felt with her expressions. She
 never ceased to smile when younger children were around or let her 
family know that she loved their company. 
 Loretta leaves behind her siblings, Patty Miller of Wilson, Jeanetta
 (Albert) Schendel of Baldwin City, KS, Terry (Debbie) Whitmer of 
Wilson, Leroy (Sue) Whitmer of Halstead, KS, and Nelson Whitmer of 
Wilson.
 She joins in paradise her parents, Jesse and Melba Whitmer; husband,
 Jerry Small; brother, Robert Whitmer; a niece, Michelle Whitmer; 
nephews, Michael and Danny Whitmer; brother-in-law, Fred Miller; and 
sisters-in-law, Carol Whitmer and Kathy Whitmer.
 There will be private family services. Visitation will be open to 
the public on Saturday, January 16, 2021, from 5 PM until 7 PM at 
Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Wilson. Masks are encouraged upon entry
 to the funeral home.

Elaine Frances Hamilton

Daryl Lynn Rein, a resident of Cimarron, Kansas, passed away on January
 12, 2021, at the age of 68 years.&nbsp; He was born in Great Bend, Kansas, on 
June 13, 1952, to Cletus LeRoy and JoAnn (Dreasher) Rein of Bazine, 
Kansas.

He was born the 3rd oldest of 10 children.&nbsp; He attended 
grade school and high school in Bazine.&nbsp; After graduating high school in
 1972, Daryl was drafted into the United States Army.&nbsp; It was one of the
 last drafts during the Vietnam War. Daryl served 2 years in the 
artillery division during which he was stationed in Germany for 18 
months.&nbsp; He also worked as a mechanic and was nicknamed the “Kansas 
Kid.”&nbsp; In July of 1974, Daryl was honorably discharged from the Army.

Upon Daryl’s return home he went to Copeland, Kansas to join a cousin
 who was working at Collingwood.&nbsp; He drove a spray rig and picked up the
 nickname “3 wheeler,” which he used as his handle on the CB radio.

In 1977, he went to work at Thomas Implement in Cimarron, Kansas.&nbsp; 
Charlie Thomas hired him on the spot from his hard work ethic.&nbsp; Daryl 
worked as a combine technician, a truck driver and in equipment set up.&nbsp;
 He drove all over the country hauling and picking up machinery.&nbsp; Over 
the years, Daryl worked on MANY combines as customers would come in and 
ask him about what was going on with their equipment.&nbsp; Many times, he 
would worry and treated the shop like it was his own.&nbsp; After working for
 Thomas Implement for 32 years, in 2009 Daryl started his own business 
“Rein Sales &amp; Service.”&nbsp;

Daryl met Vonia Oyler in the fall of 1978 and they married on June 2,
 1979.&nbsp; Together they raised three daughters Monica, Stacey, and 
Amanda.&nbsp; He taught them the value of hard work and many days his workday
 extended beyond the normal hours. He always provided for his family, 
often working extra hours to ensure his family had what they needed and 
wanted.&nbsp; Daryl took pride in his hard work and all that he 
accomplished.&nbsp;

His hobby was his work, but when it came to his grandchildren, they 
were the priority.&nbsp; As a grandfather, he would drop everything and move 
heaven and earth for them.&nbsp; He loved spending time with them and would 
go out of his way to stop by and see them.&nbsp; Teaching them to drive for 
which he bought them a golf cart, rides on the combine and tractors, and
 trips for toys.&nbsp; He was willing to pick them up and help take care of 
them at a moment’s notice.&nbsp; He was also known to have candy stashes in 
his pickup and by his chair just to spoil his grandkids.

Daryl belonged to the American Legion of Copeland, the National Rifle Association and Pheasants Forever.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Paula and brother Bradly.&nbsp;

Daryl is survived by his wife Vonia. Daughters; Monica (Ryan) Moore 
of Dodge City, Stacey Bruckner of Dodge City, and Amanda (Anthony) Owens
 of Ottawa.&nbsp; Grandchildren; Emily &amp; Abner Moore, Ethan Bruckner, and
 Colter Owens.&nbsp; Siblings include; Cindy Rein of Wichita, Dale Rein of 
Burlington, Kansas, Joel (Deneice) Rein of Hutchinson, Alan Rein of 
Bazine, Patty (Neil) Legleiter, Julie Roane of Wakeeney, and Myron Rein 
of Ness City along with many brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces and 
nephews.

Daryl Lynn Rein

Nellie LaPlant, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 
12, 2021, at the Parklane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was 
born on April 18, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hugh and Monta
 Embree Simmons. She had been a resident of Scott City since 2005 having
 moved from Garden City, Kansas and worked in retail sales.

Nellie was a member of the First Christian Church of Scott City, Kansas.

On May 26, 1946, Nellie married Olin LaPlant in Enid, Oklahoma. Olin 
and Nellie moved to a farm near Hereford, Texas shortly after they were 
married and their five children were born in Texas.&nbsp; In 1957, the family
 moved to Liberal Kansas and opened LaPlant Carpet and Tile in 1970 
until a fire destroyed the business in 1987. Olin passed away on October
 17, 1989 in Wichita, Kansas.

Survivors include her children: Linda and Paul Smith of Ogden, UT, 
Mary and Jerry Watson of Topeka, Kansas, Larry LaPlant of Aransas Pass, 
Texas, and Dennis LaPlant of Corpus Christi, Texas, ten grandchildren, 
19 great grandchildren, and five, great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, 
Harry Simmons and Hugh B. Simmons, Jr., and one infant son, David 
LaPlant.

Private graveside services will be held at the Ames Cemetery in Ames,

12, 2021, at the Parklane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was 
born on April 18, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hugh and Monta
 Embree Simmons. She had been a resident of Scott City since 2005 having
 moved from Garden City, Kansas and worked in retail sales.Nellie was a member of the First Christian Church of Scott City, Kansas.On May 26, 1946, Nellie married Olin LaPlant in Enid, Oklahoma. Olin 
and Nellie moved to a farm near Hereford, Texas shortly after they were 
married and their five children were born in Texas.&nbsp; In 1957, the family
 moved to Liberal Kansas and opened LaPlant Carpet and Tile in 1970 
until a fire destroyed the business in 1987. Olin passed away on October
 17, 1989 in Wichita, Kansas.Survivors include her children: Linda and Paul Smith of Ogden, UT, 
Mary and Jerry Watson of Topeka, Kansas, Larry LaPlant of Aransas Pass, 
Texas, and Dennis LaPlant of Corpus Christi, Texas, ten grandchildren, 
19 great grandchildren, and five, great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, 
Harry Simmons and Hugh B. Simmons, Jr., and one infant son, David 
LaPlant.Private graveside services will be held at the Ames Cemetery in Ames,
 Oklahoma.&nbsp; A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date in Enid,

Arloa Kay Barnes, age 65, passed away on Thursday January 14, 2021, at her home in Smith Center, KS. 
 Arloa Barnes, née Veh, was born in Norton, Kansas, on June 17, 1955,&nbsp; to Myron and Darlene. She was the first child of three. Her younger 
surviving siblings are Darron Veh of Hutchinson, KS and Tona Leiker of 
Shawnee, KS. The three siblings graduated from Norton High School. 
 Arloa attended Wichita State University and the University of Kansas
 where she specialized in Physical Therapy. She had a passion for 
working with children including newborns in the NICU at the University 
of Kansas Medical Center. She later provided services to children in 
many rural communities in Northwest Kansas.
 In 1974, Arloa met her beloved husband, Joe Barnes. They were 
married for 41 years. They have three children: Lindsey, Joshua, and 
Connor. Arloa and Joe devoted themselves to healthcare in Smith Center 
for over 30 years.
 Arloa enjoyed her American Lutheran Church family as well as 
activities within the Smith Center community. Through the years she 
devoted herself to adult and pediatric physical therapy as well as many 
activities such as children’s dance classes, senior exercise classes, 
and most recently, fundraising for a new community pool.

Larry Gene Huff, 80, of Iuka, Kansas passed away January 4, 2021, at 
the Grand Plains Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Pratt, Kansas.

Larry was born November 16, 1940, at the family home in Decatur 
County, Kansas as the oldest of three children to Bert B &amp; Dorothy 
Mae (Whalin) Huff. Larry grew up on the family farm in Decatur until 
1944 when they moved to Loop City, Nebraska. In 1952, has family bought a
 ranch in Ainsworth, Nebraska, where they raised pure bred Hereford 
cattle.&nbsp; Larry graduated from high school in 1959 from The University of
 Nebraska, School of Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska.

On October 30, 1960, Larry married Verna Lea McDaniel at the Methodist
 Church in Johnstown, Nebraska they recently celebrated their 60th 
wedding anniversary this past October.

Their three sons, Craig, Bryan, and Mike were born at the Brown 
County Hospital in Ainsworth, Nebraska. &nbsp;He raised his family on the 
ranch while he worked for Dannet Construction until Larry moved his 
family to Iuka, Kansas in 1972. He worked for Westoff Brothers (Great 
Bend) leveling land and digging irrigation pits during the irrigation 
boom in the 1970’s. Later he worked for R&amp;R Manufacturing as a 
welder, as well as operating the feed mill for the Great Plains Alfalfa 
Company and Pratt Feeders. He also had a part time job for the City of 
Iuka running the water treatment facility and additional city 
maintenance.&nbsp; He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pratt.

Working was his hobby and loved spending time outdoors tending to the
 garden and mowing the grass.&nbsp; Creating and fixing things was his real 
passion.

Larry is survived by his wife Verna, two sons, Bryan (Dawn Stahl) of 
Overland Park, Kansas, Mike of Hays, Kansas, two sisters, Linda Rosse of
 Maxell, Nebraska, Mary (Larry Sapp) of Parker, Colorado, two 
grandchildren; Kiley (Drew Tenbrink) of Lenexa, Kansas, Brandon of 
Overland Park, Kansas, two great grandchildren (and one more on the way 
in April).

He was preceded in death by his son (Craig), parents (Bert &amp; 
Dorothy). Larry will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Inurnment will be held at the Iuka Cemetery and a celebration of life service to be held at a later date.

Agnes “Tootsie” Adeline (Mindrup) Shoemaker Lyon

Agnes Lyon, age 95, passed away January 13, 2021 at the Norton County Hospital. She was born May 9, 1925 in Decatur County, Kansas, the oldest of eleven children, born to Bernard (Ben) G. and Anna J. (Nettig) Mindrup. She attended school in New Almelo, country school in Decatur County and graduated from Lenora High School in 1944.

Stanley E. Shoemaker and Agnes were married September 17, 1944 at St. Anthony’s Church in Red Bank, New Jersey. She worked at Woolworth in Red Bank &amp; then Montgomery Ward in Denver, CO while Stanley served in the Army during WWII.

They lived in Lenora, moved to Akron, Colorado in 1947 and then back to Lenora in 1948. To this union eight children were born: Laura Ann, Elaine, Leona, Mary Jane, Leon, Jean, Kathy, and Ken.

They owned a grocery store in Lenora from 1950 until selling the store in 1979. Stanley died November 25, 1985 while they were visiting in New York. 

On January 1, 1994, Agnes married Dale Lyon at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norton, Kansas. They lived in Hill City, Kansas. Dale died January 22, 2008.

Agnes moved to Norton, Kansas in April 2008. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, needlework, cooking, using the computer, and visiting with others. 

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; spouses, Stanley and Dale; brothers, Bernard, Alfred, Robert and Dennis (an infant); sisters, Loretta De Santi and Dorothy Mindrup (a child); brothers-in-law, Doral Allen, Joe De Santi, Robert Grawey, and Audrey (Evelyn) Lyon; sisters-in-law, Betty Mindrup, Glenda Mindrup, Darlene (Kelly) Day, Ilavere Wilson, Margaret (Dean) Richards, Wanda (Ralph) Pool and Verlene (Floyd) Holland; great granddaughter, Ashlynn Brooks and sons-in-law, Paul Moore, Marvin Gehrke and Gayle Roach.

She is survived by sisters, Genevieve (Elmer) Van Vleet, Mary Ann Grawey, Rosalie Allen and Bernice (Dennis) Miles; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mindrup; brothers-in-law, Dee (Joann) Shoemaker and Wesley Wilson; sons, Leon (Marcia) and Ken; daughters, Laura Moore, Elaine (Tim) Murphy, Leona Roach, Mary (Lee) Brown, Jean (Pat) O’Connor, and Kathy Hardy; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; stepchildren, Dennis (Dini) Lyon, Lynnette (Bob) Luck and Doyle (Joyce) Lyon; seven step grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren, and one step great-great grandchild.

Alma F. (Zimmerman) Suppes, 88, joined her husband in heaven January 
14, 2021. She was born on September 28, 1932, at Schoenchen to Sylvester
 &amp; Mary (Unrein) Zimmerman. She married Eugene J. Suppes on May 2, 
1950, at Schoenchen. He died September 23, 2020.

Alma was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic 
Church and the Altar Society. She loved bingo, embroidery, cross 
stitching and her dogs. She was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed spending 
time with her family but especially loved spending time with her 
grandchildren.

Survivors include, her children, Shirley Philippi and husband Steve 
of Gilbert, Ariz., Ginger Herrman and husband Mark of Great Bend, Margie
 Bowsher and husband Mark of Richmond, Tex., Richard Suppes and wife 
Rhonda of Hutchinson, J.R. Suppes and wife Brenda of Great Bend, Bernie

Alma F. (Zimmerman) Suppes

Doris Ann (Bayer) White passed away January 12, 2021 at McKinney, 
Texas. She was born December 23, 1938 in Great Bend, Kansas, the 
daughter of Otto Carl Bayer and Ruth (Morrison) Bayer. She was baptized 
in 1945 in the First Christian Church. Doris married Frank C. White on 
April 3, 1960 in Great Bend. He died May 19, 2008.

Doris graduated from Great Bend High School in 1956 and from Adela 
Hale Business School in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1957. She was a member of 
the First Christian Church in Great Bend, Kansas, the Fossil Creek 
Community Church in Fort Worth, Texas, the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group,
 Great Bend Senior Center, the Watauga Senior Center, the Desk and 
Derrick Club and the WCTU. She led the LTL and their speech contests. 
She was a homemaker but previously had worked as an extra in Picnic in 
1955, the credit clerk at Scheufler Supply Co. from 1958 to 1962 and as 
an interviewer at ASI from 1990-1995. She also sold Avon for 20 years. 
She helped raise funds for the American Heart Association, the Arthritis

Doris enjoyed writing poetry, drawing, painting, teaching Sunday 
school, giving book reviews, and Bible lessons. She loved Jesus, her 
family, her friends, her church and her country. While their 
granddaughter Rachel Hannahruth White was missing for 3 years and 8 
months, she and Frank diligently trusted God that she would be found. 
After Rachel was found in March 2007, at age 5 years, they helped raise 
her in their son's home in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. White; her father,
 Otto Carl Bayer; her mother, Ruth Brough; her stepfather, Leroy Brough;
 her brothers, Carl Leon Bayer, and Teddy Rex Bayer; her stepbrother, 
Jimy Brough; and her stepsister Carly Meier. She is survived by her 
daughter, June A. White of Great Bend, Kansas; her son, Rodney J. White,
 and her granddaughter, Rachel Hannaruth White all of Fort Worth, Texas;
 her sister-in-law, Lorraine Bayer of Greely, Colorado; and many 
friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21,
 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 
p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021, at First Christian Church with Pastor 
Josh Leu presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. 
Memorials have been designated to First Christian Church, in care of

Texas. She was born December 23, 1938 in Great Bend, Kansas, the 
daughter of Otto Carl Bayer and Ruth (Morrison) Bayer. She was baptized 
in 1945 in the First Christian Church. Doris married Frank C. White on 
April 3, 1960 in Great Bend. He died May 19, 2008.Doris graduated from Great Bend High School in 1956 and from Adela 
Hale Business School in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1957. She was a member of 
the First Christian Church in Great Bend, Kansas, the Fossil Creek 
Community Church in Fort Worth, Texas, the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group,
 Great Bend Senior Center, the Watauga Senior Center, the Desk and 
Derrick Club and the WCTU. She led the LTL and their speech contests. 
She was a homemaker but previously had worked as an extra in Picnic in 
1955, the credit clerk at Scheufler Supply Co. from 1958 to 1962 and as 
an interviewer at ASI from 1990-1995. She also sold Avon for 20 years. 
She helped raise funds for the American Heart Association, the Arthritis
 Foundation, the March of Dimes, the Lions Club, the High School and the

Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, NE at the age of 65.&nbsp; She was born

(Barnes) Henrichs.

Survivors include her husband Gary of the home; 2 daughters, Renee

Longtime Goodland, KS resident, Wilma Jean Davis, 93, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Country Place Senior Living Center in Hoisington, KS.

Wilma was born on October 11, 1927, in Kanorado, KS to John Walter and Edna (Harding) Daise.&nbsp; She was one of six children. She attended school in Kanorado and Goodland, and graduated from Goodland High School in 1945.

In March of 1947, she married Jack Davis, and to this union one daughter Cheryl was born.&nbsp; She was a housewife, and was a member of the Goodland United Methodist Church. &nbsp; Farm life was always very important to her.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, shopping with her daughter and granddaughters, and family get togethers.&nbsp; She especially loved art and music.&nbsp; Her friendships throughout the years were timeless ones.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Jack, two infant children, three brothers, Paul Maurice and Bill Daise, and one sister Donna Murray.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Gene) Schremmer of Hoisington, KS, three granddaughters; Kristi (Derek) Roberts, and their children Daxton and Beckett of Nashville, TN, Danah Schremmer of Gardner, KS and Jackie Schremmer of Overland Park, KS, one brother John Daise of Seattle, WA, a brother-in-law Dick Murray of Colorado Springs, CO and a sister-in-law Mary Daise of Goodland, KS.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM MT at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland with Pastor Zach Anderson officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery, Goodland, KS.

Letha Maye Acheson, 99, of Morland, Kansas departed this life in Hill 
City, Kansas and entered her heavenly home January 9, 2021, just a mere 
twenty days from her hundredth birthday. She was born in a sod house to 
Sam and Minnie (Turner) Bangle in Lucerne, Kansas, January 29, 1921, the
 third of 14 children. 

Her early school years were spent in a one-room 
country school. To attend high school, Letha stayed with the Hays family
 in Morland. She graduated from Morland High School in 1938. Following 
her high school graduation, she taught for two years in the Goshen 
School, a one-room school about 10 miles north of Morland. Everyday 
Letha and her brother would head north over what we imagine were poor 
roads and not too reliable transportation. He was in charge of lighting 
the stove for her and getting her set for the day.
 Letha and her classmate, Olen D. Acheson, were married December 22, 
1940, at the Methodist Church in Graden, Kansas. They happily spent 
their entire lives in Morland where they raised their four children: 
Sharon, Donald, Delbert, and Joyce. 
 Being one of the oldest daughters in the family, she undoubtedly 
helped with the household chores, caring for the younger children, and 
preparing large meals. Her early cooking expertise served her well as a 
cook at both the Morland Grade and High School. Besides cooking for the 
noon meals, Letha and Olen took the job of janitors for the high school.
 Following retirement, she became a member of the Graham County Hospital
 Auxiliary, running errands for staff, and greeting and helping patients
 and families feel at ease. Letha was active in her church, the Morland 
Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday School classes for many years. 
 Preceding Letha in death were her parents; husband Olen; daughter 
Joyce Young; brothers: Mike, Chet, William, Richard, and Phillip; 
sisters: Alice Heron and Phyllis Lutz; and grandson Scottie Davis.
 Survivors include: a daughter Sharon (Don) Davis, Springfield, 
Missouri; two sons, Donald (Carol) Acheson, Morland, and Delbert 
(Carolyn) Acheson, Morland; sisters: Virginia Cook, Wichita, Norma 
Lemon, Hill City, Minnie (Vern) Gano, Washington; brothers, Jesse 
(Ranada) Bangle, Houston, Texas, and Doyle (Katie) Bangle, Louisiana; 10
 grandchildren: Kandra Wilson, Scott Critchfield, Melinda Jamison, 
Darrell Acheson, Tiffany Weatherington, Tennille Giancola, Angela 
Basten, Jennifer Painter, Laurie Reed, and Andrea Roland; 26 great 
grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
 Letha will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who lived her 
life well. She will be missed by her devoted family, the people of 
Morland, and the surrounding communities. We are saddened she is gone 
from us, but are at peace in the knowledge that she has entered eternal 
life, hearing her Savior’s words: “Well done, good and faithful 
servant.”

Marion Cridling Harper, age 85, died January 10, 2021, at his home in 
Tribune, Kansas. He was born on June 1, 1935, in Holly, Colorado, the son
 of Alden C. and Iva Elam Harper.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, 
Kansas.&nbsp; He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Greeley
 County Golf Association.

On December 27, 1956, he married Elaine Mae Stegman.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on February 9, 2016.

Survivors include:&nbsp;Four Daughters - Denise Schworm of Watkins, 
Colorado,&nbsp;Pamela Lang of Tribune, Kansas,&nbsp;Rhonda Simpson of Castle Rock,
 Colorado,&nbsp;Darcy Goodenough of Great Bend, Kansas;&nbsp;Nine grandchildren 
and eight great-grand-children.

Marion Cridling Harper

Sarah Christine Ryser-Brown, 42, passed away January 10, 2021, at her
 home in Great Bend. She was born October 25, 1978, at Concordia to Gary
 &amp; Helen (Schueneman) Hayes. She was later adopted by Robert &amp; 
Barbara Jane (Rhodes) Ryser. She married Jeff Lee Brown July 31, 2010, 
at Larned.

Coming from Larned in 2010, Sarah was a Great Bend resident. She was a
 nurse's aide at Woodhaven Care Center. She enjoyed shopping, baking and
 softball. Her favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and the 
Kansas City Chiefs. Sarah enjoyed taking care of everybody but 
especially loved caring for her children.

Survivors include, her husband, Jeff Lee Brown of Great Bend; a son, 
Austin Lee Brown of Great Bend; three daughters, Siriah Sexton and 
fiancé Mike Graves, Alexis Sexton, and Jasmine Sexton all of Great Bend;
 her mother, Barbara Jane Ryser; two sisters, Heather Burton of Ruidoso,
 New Mexico and Mary Eleta McDermet of Topeka; her uncle and aunt, 
Vernie and Ann Houtchens of Clifton; and two grandchildren, Karter 
Bentley Jewell and Dean Sexton. She was preceded in death by her father,
 Robert Ryser; and grandmother, Betty Rhodes.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Funeral 
Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, at Bryant

 </figure>Sarah Christine Ryser-Brown, 42, passed away January 10, 2021, at her
 home in Great Bend. She was born October 25, 1978, at Concordia to Gary
 &amp; Helen (Schueneman) Hayes. She was later adopted by Robert &amp; 
Barbara Jane (Rhodes) Ryser. She married Jeff Lee Brown July 31, 2010, 
at Larned.Coming from Larned in 2010, Sarah was a Great Bend resident. She was a
 nurse's aide at Woodhaven Care Center. She enjoyed shopping, baking and
 softball. Her favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and the 
Kansas City Chiefs. Sarah enjoyed taking care of everybody but 
especially loved caring for her children.Survivors include, her husband, Jeff Lee Brown of Great Bend; a son, 
Austin Lee Brown of Great Bend; three daughters, Siriah Sexton and 
fiancé Mike Graves, Alexis Sexton, and Jasmine Sexton all of Great Bend;
 her mother, Barbara Jane Ryser; two sisters, Heather Burton of Ruidoso,
 New Mexico and Mary Eleta McDermet of Topeka; her uncle and aunt, 
Vernie and Ann Houtchens of Clifton; and two grandchildren, Karter 
Bentley Jewell and Dean Sexton. She was preceded in death by her father,
 Robert Ryser; and grandmother, Betty Rhodes.There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Funeral 
Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, at Bryant 
Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. A public livestream

Donald Lawrence Streit died Friday night January 8, 2021, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Hays, KS.

Donald was born on August 24, 1939, in Tipton, KS. to Leo H. and Gertrude (Gasper) Streit. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1957 and from St. Mary's of the Plains in Dodge City, KS. with a BA in English.

On July 28, 1962, he married Vivian Carol “Tootsie” Bremmer in Tipton, KS. at Boniface Catholic Church.

Growing up, Don helped on the family farm. He loved to play baseball and after High School graduation, Don played for the Osborne Jr. League Team in 1957. A year or so later, he was given the opportunity to play on the first baseball team for St. Mary's of the Plains College. While in college, Don played both baseball and basketball. He also met his future bride there.

Don was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Offerle, KS. Don would often lector in church, was an Eucharistic Minister, and accompanied his wife's organ playing by playing guitar. He was an active member of the St. Joseph's Word Working Group.

Don was very active in the Offerle Community by helping to organize the Offerle After Harvest Festival which introduced the area to Outhouse Races. Later he would help in the organization of the Offerle Days celebration using his voice to provide the attendants with activity updates, car show interviews, and numerous jokes. Don always had a joke – the quality of the joke was sometimes up for debate.

Don spent 45 years in the teaching profession in Ransom, Offerle, and Dodge City. He coached Jr. High and High School sports including volleyball, basketball, and track and field in the Kinsley-Offerle School District. Don supplemented his income while raising a family by working at the Offerle Co-op and Lumber Yard for several years. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines and eventually began his own lawn mower/small engine repair business. Don also did some radio announcing of area football games and lawn mower races.

Don is survived by his daughter Debbie and Terry Bottorf of Hays, KS., and sons Don and Alma Streit of San Antonio, TX., Dan and Karen Streit of Bonner Springs, KS., and David and Traci Streit of Edwardsville, KS., two sisters Arlene and Charles Steichen of Placentia, CA., and Norma Jean Hake of Beloit, KS., eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, sister Shirley Streit, brothers Leon Streit and Edwin Streit.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at McKillip's. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at St. Joseph's Church, Offerle. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at St. Joseph's Church, Offerle

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to St. Joseph's Catholic Church for Masses, Offerle Community Foundation, Word Working Group, or St. Jude's Children Hospital in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.

Welton “Pete” Leroy Ideker, 76, passed away January 11, 2021, at the 
University of Kansas Health Systems Pawnee Valley Campus, Larned.

He was born September 30, 1944, in Great Bend, the son of Ervin Henry and Stella Carmen Reid Ideker.

A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer. He was a strong believer in
 the Heavenly Father and was an honest person. He served as a medic in 
the United States Army.

On October 19, 1991, he married Linda Shottenkirk at Grace Lutheran Church in Larned; she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Trevis (Kim) Galliart, Rozel, 
Timothy Galliart, Great Bend; foster brother, Larry (Marie) Fox, Tuscon,
 AZ; sister-in-law Nyla Ideker, FL; four grandchildren, Taylor, Tristen,
 McKenzie, and Tanner; four great grandchildren, Tripp, Evyn, Madison, 
and Charleigh; a niece, Michelle (Brian) Murdock Martin, FL; a nephew, 
Aaron (Sarah) Ideker, Auburn, KS; and two great nephews, Hunter and 
Dylan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Armen Ervin Ideker.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
