Faye Lucille Will, 84, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 
14, 2022, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La 
Crosse, Kansas.

Faye was born August 25, 1937, in Gilead, Nebraska, the daughter of 
William Adolf and Lucille Viola (Borovicka) Peperkorn.&nbsp; She was a 
resident of Rush County, Kansas, for 50+ years, moving from Colorado.&nbsp; A
 1955 graduate of Hebron High School, Hebron, Nebraska.&nbsp; Faye was a bank
 teller for Farmers Bank &amp; Trust, formerly The Home State Bank, La 
Crosse, Kansas, for 30+ years before her retirement.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, Kansas; and 
attended services at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas, and 
First Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Kansas.

The sun and moon in her life were her son and daughter, Steve and 
Denise, her four grandchildren, and her 7 ½ great grandchildren.

Faye enjoyed and spent many hours watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.&nbsp; She also enjoyed quilting.

In 1957, she married Don Richardson at Hebron, Nebraska.&nbsp; They were blessed with two children, Steve and Denise.

She later married Reverend Kenneth J. Will on June 9, 1967, at Denver, Colorado.&nbsp; He preceded her in death March 16, 2016.

Survivors include:&nbsp; one son, Steve Richardson, La Crosse, Kansas; one
 daughter, Denise Morrison (Steve), Hoisington, Kansas; four 
grandchildren, Casey Morrison (Nichole), Albert, Kansas, Carla Schartz 
(Lance), Andover, Kansas, Abigail Jonas (Shane), Hoisington, Kansas, and
 Stephanie Koochel (Ethan), Manhattan, Kansas; seven great grandchildren
 with an eighth on the way; and one sister, Janice Wulfkeotter (Darold),
 Olathe, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, 
William “Billy” Peperkorn, and his wife, Lucille; an infant brother, 
Fredrick Peperkorn; and one sister, Norma Corliss, and her husband, 
Raymond.

Per Faye’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation.

A graveside memorial service will be Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 
11:00 A.M. at the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.&nbsp; Inurnment
 will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to A Second Chance, La Crosse, Kansas, or the Rush County Food Bank.

Phillipsburg resident Delores M. Zollman passed away August 15, 2022,&nbsp; at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 90.&nbsp; She 
was born July 3, 1932, in Norton County.

James Anthony Nevins, 43, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Saturday, August 6, in Moundridge, Kansas. 
 James was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on January 17, 1979, a son of 
Donald Ray Nevins, of Mankato, Kansas and the late Carolyn D. (Barnes) 
Cashman.
 On October 20, 2008, James married Sadetthong “Sally” Keopine in Salina, Kansas.
 James was a triplet and liked to play jokes on people by pretending 
to be one of the other triplet brothers. He was also an avid Raiders 
football fan and loved fishing and camping. James was a retired member 
of the Army National Guard and served two deployments to Iraq. James 
had many ventures through the years but his most successful endeavors 
were Trade Craft Clothing line and MJ Tackle. Above all, along with 
the Lord, his wife and kids were his ultimate mission in life. 
 He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn; grandparents, Helen
 and Paul Barnes; grandparents, Carl and Arnetta Nevins and 
father-in-law, Khamvane Sayasing.
 James is survived by his wife, Sadetthong “Sally” Nevins, daughter, 
Brandy Archer (Kyle) of Girard, Kansas; two sons, Christian and Jayden

Steve W. Gossman, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at
 his home in Scott City, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on May 4, 1950, in Garden 
City, Kansas, the son of Charles and Irene Withorn Gossman.&nbsp; A resident 
of Scott County, Kansas since 1984 moving from the family farm in Finney
 County, Kansas, he was a retired truck driver and farmer.

He was of the Christian faith and was a Boy Scout Leader.

On October 10, 1977, he married Veta Oyler in Eads, Colorado.&nbsp; She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Veta Gossman of Scott City, Kansas, 
Three Sons - Clint &amp; Anne Gossman of Scott City, Kansas, Justin 
&amp; Tasha Gossman of Scott City, Kansas, Tyler Gossman of Salina, 
Kansas, Two Daughters - Charlotte Latta of Scott City, Kansas, Laura 
Hickert of Scott City, Kansas,&nbsp; One Brother - Gerald &amp; Norma Gossman
 of Garden City, Kansas, Twenty One Grandchildren, and Nine Great 
Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Son - Jeremy Gossman, and Two Brothers - Larry Gossman and Garry Gossman.

friend. Waynette left this world suddenly on Aug 12, 2022, at the age of
 72. She was born to Wayne and Davena (Saunders) Dillon on August 18, 
1949, at the Portis Hospital in Portis, KS.
 Waynette was united in marriage to Carl (Dick) Roberts and to this 
union two children were born. Tiffany and Jace. They later divorced. 
 Waynette enjoyed the outdoors, and playing bingo. Her greatest joy 
was being with her children, grandchildren and her dog Gizmo. 
 She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, and Travis Holloway (nephew). 
 Survivors include her daughter, Tiffany (Randall) Wyatt, Washington,
 KS; son, Jace Roberts (Sherri Thibault), Osborne; grandchildren Whitney
 Wyatt (Kellen Bargman), Palmer, KS; Lauren Wyatt, Brady (Marcy) Wyatt, 
Jordan (Kayla) Wyatt, all of Washington, KS; sisters Barbara Grabbe, 
Hays, KS; Dee Ann Conn, Deb Rannebeck, Claudia Schurr, all of Osborne;

Waynette Marie Roberts

William Albert “Willie” Relph, 66, died August 15, 2022, at 
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1956, in 
Oberlin, KS, to Lowell and Juanita (Tally) Relph.

Willie graduated from Salina South High School in 1974 and received 
his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Washburn University in 
1978. He worked as a police officer in Garden City for 11 years and then
 worked in sales in both hardware and pre-fab homes. Willie was a 
motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed motocross racing. He also loved 
hunting pheasants and fishing and was a diehard Royals fan.

In 1978, Willie married Sue Hobbs and they had two children together,
 Eric and Emily. On December 2, 2017, he married Sherry Lynn (Hullet) 
Schroeder, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: his children, Eric Relph (Chandra) of Spirit 
Lake, IA, and Emily Relph (Stephine Randall) of Coffeyville; 
grandchildren, Ethan Relph (Alejandra), Gracie Relph, Alli Relph, Kacely
 Relph; great-grandchildren, Genesis Relph, Eric Relph; mother, Juanita 
Relph of South Hutchinson; sister, Cheri Bergmeier (Brian) of Greeley, 
CO; brother, Thomas Relph (Betty) of Burleson, TX; and many extended 
family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

 </figure>William Albert “Willie” Relph, 66, died August 15, 2022, at 
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1956, in 
Oberlin, KS, to Lowell and Juanita (Tally) Relph.Willie graduated from Salina South High School in 1974 and received 
his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Washburn University in 
1978. He worked as a police officer in Garden City for 11 years and then
 worked in sales in both hardware and pre-fab homes. Willie was a 
motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed motocross racing. He also loved 
hunting pheasants and fishing and was a diehard Royals fan.In 1978, Willie married Sue Hobbs and they had two children together,
 Eric and Emily. On December 2, 2017, he married Sherry Lynn (Hullet) 
Schroeder, in Hutchinson. She survives.Also surviving are: his children, Eric Relph (Chandra) of Spirit 
Lake, IA, and Emily Relph (Stephine Randall) of Coffeyville; 
grandchildren, Ethan Relph (Alejandra), Gracie Relph, Alli Relph, Kacely
 Relph; great-grandchildren, Genesis Relph, Eric Relph; mother, Juanita 
Relph of South Hutchinson; sister, Cheri Bergmeier (Brian) of Greeley, 
CO; brother, Thomas Relph (Betty) of Burleson, TX; and many extended 
family members.He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell.Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.Memorials may be made to Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Merrily Kathleen McCamey, 80, passed away August 15, 2022, at Hospice
 House of Reno County in Hutchinson. She was born July 25, 1942, at 
Great Bend, to Thomas &amp; Nora (Manke) Karst. She married John 
Madison, had a daughter, Sheryl, and they were later divorced. She then 
married August Collins and they also later divorced. She then later 
married Jerry Prade “J.P.” McCamey in Indianapolis in January 2004. 
Merrily and J.P. spent the last twenty years traveling all over and it 
was a great passion for her.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Merrily graduated from Otis Bison 
High School in 1960 and attended Bethany College in Lindsborg and 
Brown-Mackie College in Salina. She was a secretary for Lee Turner, Farm
 Bureau and Larned State Hospital. Merrily was a member of Encounter 
Church (formerly First Assembly of God Church) and volunteered for the 
prison ministry. Merrily was a talented musician being accomplished in 
the flute, piano, harp and voice. She enjoyed collecting recipes and had
 many pets throughout the last 50 years along with her daughter Rita 
that she loved and cherished, especially her dog, Sebastian and two 
cats, Toby and Angel.

Survivors include, her husband, J.P. McCamey; daughters, Sheryl 
McDowell of Nashville, Tenn. and her children, Zachary &amp; Madison 
McDowell, Rita Collins and Kathy Norlin both of Great Bend; twin boys, 
James Collins of Hutchinson and John Collins of Colo., special 
daughters, Sharon George and Tyra Collins; and J.P.’s children, Pastor 
Alan McCamey of Columbus, Kan., Pastor Jerry McCamey and Debbie 
Edgeworth all of Ind.; a sister, Winona Hooten of Batesville, Ark. and 
her children, Brandon Thomas (Chelsi) and Tina Gibbs (Jacob); and many 
grandchildren &amp; great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lydia Rippie and a grandson, Jacob.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 
19, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 
p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Encounter Church in Great Bend with 
Pastor Alan McCamey and Pastor Dwight Dozier presiding.

Merrily Kathleen McCamey

Larry Dean Kilian passed away July 31, 2022, at 85 years of age at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. &nbsp;

Larry was born February 21, 1937,&nbsp;in Ellsworth, Kansas. Larry&nbsp;competed in&nbsp;shot put in Junior High track&nbsp;and field and was on the 440 relay team, posting&nbsp;a new school record with a 51.4 run. He also played varsity football all 4 years of&nbsp;high&nbsp;school,&nbsp;played&nbsp;men’s basketball,&nbsp;and ran track.&nbsp;In 1955&nbsp;he was part of the Russell Broncos Men’s Basketball&nbsp;team&nbsp;State&nbsp;Class A Champions.&nbsp;&nbsp;Larry&nbsp;met&nbsp;Donna&nbsp;Lee Franklin&nbsp;at a band trip to the fair in Salina, Kansas,&nbsp;and started dating at age&nbsp;15. This relationship continued until he was united in marriage to Donna on July 31, 1960. Their first year of marriage they moved&nbsp;from Russell to&nbsp;Hoxie, Kansas,&nbsp;where Donna taught&nbsp;second&nbsp;grade and Larry taught&nbsp;grades&nbsp;5-8&nbsp;at a nearby little town—Studley, Kansas.

Larry and Donna moved&nbsp;back to Russell&nbsp;in 1963 where he&nbsp;began farming with his father. &nbsp;They farmed wheat and milo and raised&nbsp;Angus cattle. Harvest&nbsp;time was his favorite time&nbsp;because&nbsp;family all pitched in and worked it. &nbsp;Donna made lunch at the house for all the workers and&nbsp;prepared&nbsp;sandwiches&nbsp;for&nbsp;them to&nbsp;eat&nbsp;later for&nbsp;dinner. Dad took his 30-minute power nap after lunch before going back out in the field.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In June 2006,&nbsp;Larry and Donna decided to retire from their farm life in Russell after&nbsp;45&nbsp;years. &nbsp;Larry and Donna chose to make a move to Eudora, Kansas,&nbsp;to&nbsp;be close to&nbsp;family. &nbsp;They enjoyed going to&nbsp;auctions/estate sales,&nbsp;traveling with family and friends,&nbsp;and attending&nbsp;their&nbsp;grandsons’&nbsp;basketball and baseball games. &nbsp;As a pastime Larry took up stained glass,&nbsp;which,&nbsp;for a “farm boy from a small town in Kansas,”&nbsp;he&nbsp;was very talented&nbsp;He&nbsp;also enjoyed refinishing furniture. He displayed these&nbsp;beautiful creations&nbsp;in his booth at the D. Palma and Co. Mercantile&nbsp;antique mall&nbsp;in Russell and&nbsp;gave them&nbsp;as gifts to friends and family.

Larry was preceded in death by&nbsp;his&nbsp;father and mother, Johnny Kilian and Alvina&nbsp;Lucille (Krug) Kilian; and his wife. He is survived by one daughter, Karla Jean (Doug) Krause of DeSoto, Kansas; one son, Stuart John (JoAnn) Kilian of Gorham, Kansas; and three grandsons, Travis (Staci) Krause&nbsp;of Wichita, Kansas; Trent Krause (Kaytlyn Green) of Lenexa, Kansas; and Cameron Kilian of Gorham, Kansas;&nbsp;brother Gary Kilian&nbsp;(Diane)&nbsp;of Russell, Kansas,&nbsp;sisters&nbsp;Judy Holmes&nbsp;of Russell, Kansas&nbsp;and Cindy Gilveli (Greg)&nbsp;of&nbsp;Arizona City, Arizona.

The family extends their heart-felt thanks to the many friends who visited, phoned, and sent cards&nbsp;during&nbsp;the past months. &nbsp;They also extend their gratitude to the nurses and physicians at Lawrence&nbsp;Memorial Hospital, Precision Cancer Center,&nbsp;and the Douglas County Visiting&nbsp;Nurses and Hospice Care.&nbsp;Larry&nbsp;will truly be missed by&nbsp;the many people whose hearts he touched.

Larry Dean Kilian

Janice Marie Smith, 79, passed away on August 15, 2022, at Hays 
Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born on October 1, 1942, at Great 
Bend, Kan., to Vernie &amp; Aldeen (Morgret) Cates. On March 6, 1965, 
Janice married Gary Smith in Great Bend. He passed away on May 11, 2021.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Janice graduated from Great Bend 
High School in 1960. Prior to retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper at 
Gibson’s Discount Center, Anthony’s Clothing, and Golden Belt Home 
Health and Hospice. She was a member of Encounter Church and loved 
crafting.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Jo) Smith of Great Bend, and 
Christopher (Stephanie) Smith of St. John; two sisters, Judy Bullard of 
Great Bend and Sharon Cates of Topeka; ten grandchildren, Presley, 
Delaney, Addison, Hallie, Dakota, Alyson, Hunter, Ava, Elizabeth, 
Andrea; four great-grandchildren, Rylie, Zayne, Laney and Molly; and a 
daughter-in-law, Dee Ann Smith of Hoisington. She is preceded in death 
by her husband; a son, Gary “Bubba” Smith; step-son, Ricky Smith; 
brother, Dale Cates; and nephew, Daniel Cates.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Funeral 
Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at 
Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwight Dozier presiding.

Janice Marie Smith

Kenneth Stieben, 80, died August 11, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital 
in Garden City. He was born on February 5, 1942, at Ness City, Kansas, the
 son of George and Elizabeth (Dell) Stieben. &nbsp;

Mr. Stieben owned and operated his own body shop for ten years in 
Jetmore before going to work for Crustbuster as a painter. He also 
worked for Broce Broom for several years before retiring in 2017. Mr. 
Stieben loved riding motorcycles, telling jokes and working on and 
restoring old cars in his spare time.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in Dodge City.

He is survived by his companion Delores Wright of the home; one 
daughter Julie Stieben of Dodge City; one son Donnie Stieben and wife 
Terri of Jetmore; two stepchildren Joe wright and wife Jennifer of 
Hutchinson; Donnie Wright and companion Darci of Dodge City. He is also 
survived by one granddaughter Lynsey and husband Mong of Wakeeney; two 
great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and two step great 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters.

Memorial graveside service with full military rites will be held at 
Kansas Veterans' Cemetery on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM with 
Dr. Shawn Fletcher presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation 
has taken place.&nbsp;

Kenneth Stieben

David Neil Dreiling, age 65, of Antonino, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at HaysMed. He was born on November 21, 1956, in Hays, Kansas to Anthony Francis and Lillian Marie (Sander) Dreiling. He graduated from TMP-Marian High and attended college. David married Jorgie Lochmann on July 30, 1980, in Hays. David was a driller in the oilfields working for Discovery Drilling for 35 plus years. He was known to be a very patient person willing to put others ahead of himself. He enjoyed landscaping and was an avid gardener and was a member of Westview Church. David is survived by his wife, Jorgie of Antonino; a daughter, Randi Dreiling (Darin Linenberger) of Hays; a brother, Russell Dreiling (Tammy) of Hays; two sisters, Anne Price (Charles) of Wichita and Laurie Fleenor (Lee) of Hays as well as a granddaughter, Laeci. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Rogers. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2022, at Westview Church, 3000 W. 41st Street in Hays, with memorial visitation starting at 10:00 AM until service time.  </figure>David Neil Dreiling, age 65, of Antonino, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at HaysMed. He was born on November 21, 1956, in Hays, Kansas to Anthony Francis and Lillian Marie (Sander) Dreiling. He graduated from TMP-Marian High and attended college. David married Jorgie Lochmann on July 30, 1980, in Hays. David was a driller in the oilfields working for Discovery Drilling for 35 plus years. He was known to be a very patient person willing to put others ahead of himself. He enjoyed landscaping and was an avid gardener and was a member of Westview Church. David is survived by his wife, Jorgie of Antonino; a daughter, Randi Dreiling (Darin Linenberger) of Hays; a brother, Russell Dreiling (Tammy) of Hays; two sisters, Anne Price (Charles) of Wichita and Laurie Fleenor (Lee) of Hays as well as a granddaughter, Laeci. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Rogers. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2022, at Westview Church, 3000 W. 41st Street in Hays, with memorial visitation starting at 10:00 AM until service time. Kay Ann Parks

Donald August “Don” Neff passed away on Aug 14, 2022, at Good Samaritan 
Oberlin, Kansas at the age of 90. He was born November 26, 1931, in 
Selden KS to Florence and Margaret (Reinert) Neff. 
 He received his education in Kansas and Washington and went on to 
Kansas State College. After college, Don went into the Army and then 
came back to start farming. He lived in rural Sheridan and Decatur 
counties before retiring in Oberlin. He married Geraldine Miller on 
August 21, 1956. During Don’s life, he enjoyed farming, fishing and 
making beautiful creations out of wood from the farm that each family 
member now enjoys. 
 Don was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, Geraldine Neff, 
siblings, Lois Meitl and Ron Neff along with his son-in-law, Mark 
Jennings. He is survived by his children Christina Rasure (Mitch Tiede) 
Goodland, KS, Debora Jennings, Wichita, KS. Michael (Jackie) Neff, 
Dresden, KS, Thomas (Chris) Neff, Marian, KS, James (Kristal) Neff 
Manhattan, KS. Six grandchildren: Daniel Rasure, Kayla (Brad) Hedges, 
Mallory Jennings, Jordan Jennings, Darius Neff and Elora (Alex) 
Aldridge. Four step grandchildren Elliott (Tamara) Gillespie, Aaron 
(Tara) Gillespie, Heath (Samantha) Schulte, Ashley Albers. And Great 
Grandchildren EJ, Millie and Fredrick Rasure and Brooklyn and Brody 
Hedges. Ten step great grandchildren: Alex &amp; Emma Gillespie, Jackson

Virginia M. Wildeman, age 93, of Grainfield, Kansas, passed away 
Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care. 
She was born May 28, 1929, at the family home south of Grainfield to 
Ernest and Regina (Keller) Katt.

Virginia graduated from Grainfield High School. She was united in 
marriage to Ralph Wildeman on August 21, 1950, at St. Agnes Catholic 
Church. They were together until his passing in 1993. To this union, 10 
children were born. Virginia worked as the custodian for Wheatland High 
School for 18 years, retiring in 2000.

Virginia was a member of the St. Agnes Ladies of Grainfield, and she 
loved cooking for her children and grandchildren, sewing, and generally 
making home. She also enjoyed the occasional Snickers and Dr. Pepper.

Those surviving Virginia are her sons Kenny Wildeman (Rhonda) of 
Jennings, Kansas, Alvin Wildeman (Patti) of Hoxie, Kansas, Terry 
Wildeman (Shelia) of Lawrence, Kansas, Randy Wildeman (Stephanie) of 
Garden City, Kansas, and Steve Wildeman (Kelly) of Topeka, Kansas; 
daughters Shirley Medford (Bob) of Ammon, Idaho, Darlene Gassmann (Alan)
 of Gavette, Arkansas, Norma Stewart (Randy) of Olathe, Kansas, and 
Christy Rathgeber (Brian) of Grainfield, Kansas; 27 grandchildren; 36 
great-grandchildren; and brothers Arthur Katt, Leroy Katt, and Bernie

Keen K. Brantley, age 82, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 
the Comfort Care Homes attended by Phoenix Hospice in Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; 
He was born on June 29, 1940, in Almena, Kansas, the son of Herbert 
Cayton and Wilma Flossie Walters Brantley.&nbsp; 

A resident of Scott City, 
Kansas since 1950 moving from Ordway, Colorado, he was a lawyer and 
partner of Wallace, Brantley, and Shirley Law Office in Scott City, 
Kansas.

He was a US Navy Seal Veteran and was a member of Scott City Lions Club and Masonic Lodge #284 both of Scott City, Kansas.

On September 9, 1966, he married Anita Rochmes in San Diego, California.&nbsp; She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Anita Brantley of Scott City, Kansas, 
One Son - Aaron &amp; Jill Brantley of Ellsworth, Kansas, One Daughter -
 Leah Brantley &amp; Jeremy Stallbamer of Wichita, Kansas, and Four 
Granddaughters - MaLaney Brantley of Ellsworth, Kansas, MaKinley 
Brantley of Ellsworth, Kansas, Blake Brantley of Wichita, Kansas and 
Sloan Brantley of Wichita, Kansas.

Mary M. Walter

John Terry Jr., 77, was born on November 28, 1944, and entered the 
heavenly realm on August 12, 2022. John, known as Dad, Grandpa, Coach, 
Mr. Terry, JT, was born in Goodland, Kansas, as the middle son of six 
boys. He was raised by Henry and Mildred Wilkening, and a brother, Elmer
 Wilkening, on a farm outside of Haigler, Nebraska, four miles into 
Kansas, creating his loyalty to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. 
John grew up as a farm boy with deep faith, love of family, and 
enjoyment of football. Life taught him the commitment of hard work, yet 
it was his love of sports that led him into teaching. After completing 
high school at Haigler, he attended Fort Hays State University, where he
 played college football and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 
Physical Education, he returned to his hometown. He spent two years 
coaching, teaching, and completing his Master of Science Degree in 
Mathematics, lending him to move forward in his career to Atwood, KS. It
 was here John met the love of his life, Connie. They were married on 
December 23, 1972, including, one daughter, Annette, whom he adopted in 
1973. To this marriage was born four children: Brent, Justin, Jonna, and
 Michael. He was proud of all his children, reminding each of them of 
their accomplishments, teaching every one of them through his last 
breath. 
During his career Coach Terry was a teacher, football, basketball, and 
track coach. He was the assistant boys’ basketball coach in 1971 when 
they won the Men’s State Championship. An honor that was recently 
celebrated and he took great pride in. He was the line coach for the 
high school football team and head track coach for both men’s and 
women’s teams. In 1978, Coach Terry had another advancement in his 
career, which became the definition of who he was: Women’s Basketball 
Head Coach. Although Coach Terry taught math, physical education, was 
part of three consecutive State Football Coaching teams, numerous State 
Track individual and team wins, and many honors as a coach, it was “his 
girls” basketball that encouraged him to continue coaching and teaching 
for over 47 years. 
In 2014, Coach Terry hung up his whistle and passed the torch to the 
next generation of educators. It was during this transition time that 
John began his second 12 year long career of crop adjusting. A job he 
took great pride in, working up until his final days of life. 
Lest not forget the love of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Football, 
volleyball, basketball, if it had Cornhusker in the name he was on 
board. Traveling to Lincoln every home game weekend and some away games,
 celebrating with family and friends, making new friends. He believed in
 his “Go Big Red” every season (good or less than good) and became a 
season ticket holder for football and volleyball, moving this legacy to 
the next generation on his final day in this world. 
John could be found with the ones he loved the most. Doing what he loved
 the most: golfing, always open for a good wager; hunting dove, 
pheasants, deer (with a great scouting team), or simply working with his
 dogs; fishing with his children, his grandchildren, and then his 
great-grandchildren; or watching his family in their own 
accomplishments. He loved his faith, his home, his family, his friends, 
his students, his teams, his life. 
To quote his last words, “I’ve had a good life, I hate to cry, it is time to go.” 
Coach Terry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mildred and 
Henry Wilkening; brother Elmer Wilkening; biological parents, John 
Terry, Sr and Bernitta and brother Leland Terry.

He is survived at home 
by his wife Connie Terry and great grandsons; daughter Annette Dunker 
husband Kerry, their children, Sidney (Destanie), Ariel (Kody, children:
 Azia and Brigham), Aubrey (Spencer, children: Ayden and Evryn); son 
Brent Terry wife Jennifer Shane, their children Gerald and Kierra Terry,
 granddaughters, Katie Terry (children: Carter, Rylan, Ni’lah, Luxianna)
 and Lauren Terry; son Justin Terry wife Michelle, their children Peyton
 (Paige), Paige (Devin), Paxton and Payvn; daughter Jonna Kay Terry; son
 Michael Terry wife Sara, their children, Gwen, Allyson and Ava; 
brothers, Cecil Terry, Bill Terry, Dean Terry and Duane Meiris; Beth 
Guth, Mike and Karen Guth and children, and many students, friends and 
colleagues. 
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 
18, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Atwood. The Funeral Mass will
 take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at the church, with 
burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atwood.

next generation of educators. It was during this transition time that 
John began his second 12 year long career of crop adjusting. A job he 
took great pride in, working up until his final days of life. 
Lest not forget the love of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Football, 
volleyball, basketball, if it had Cornhusker in the name he was on 
board. Traveling to Lincoln every home game weekend and some away games,
 celebrating with family and friends, making new friends. He believed in
 his “Go Big Red” every season (good or less than good) and became a 
season ticket holder for football and volleyball, moving this legacy to 
the next generation on his final day in this world. 
John could be found with the ones he loved the most. Doing what he loved
 the most: golfing, always open for a good wager; hunting dove, 
pheasants, deer (with a great scouting team), or simply working with his
 dogs; fishing with his children, his grandchildren, and then his 
great-grandchildren; or watching his family in their own 
accomplishments. He loved his faith, his home, his family, his friends, 
his students, his teams, his life. 
To quote his last words, “I’ve had a good life, I hate to cry, it is time to go.” 
Coach Terry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mildred and 
Henry Wilkening; brother Elmer Wilkening; biological parents, John 
Terry, Sr and Bernitta and brother Leland Terry. He is survived at home 
by his wife Connie Terry and great grandsons; daughter Annette Dunker 
husband Kerry, their children, Sidney (Destanie), Ariel (Kody, children:
 Azia and Brigham), Aubrey (Spencer, children: Ayden and Evryn); son 
Brent Terry wife Jennifer Shane, their children Gerald and Kierra Terry,
 granddaughters, Katie Terry (children: Carter, Rylan, Ni’lah, Luxianna)
 and Lauren Terry; son Justin Terry wife Michelle, their children Peyton
 (Paige), Paige (Devin), Paxton and Payvn; daughter Jonna Kay Terry; son
 Michael Terry wife Sara, their children, Gwen, Allyson and Ava; 
brothers, Cecil Terry, Bill Terry, Dean Terry and Duane Meiris; Beth 
Guth, Mike and Karen Guth and children, and many students, friends and 
colleagues. 
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 
18, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Atwood. The Funeral Mass will
 take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at the church, with

Bryan Anthony Kramer, 42, passed away August 13, 2022, in rural Great
 Bend, Kan. He was born May 9, 1980, in Garden City, Kan., to Norman 
Pete and Jean A. (Scheer) Kramer.&nbsp; Bryan married Radonda Huston May 10, 
2003, in Scott City, Kan.&nbsp; She survives.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Bryan, a longtime resident of Great Bend coming from Garden City, 
co-owned and operated Damm Pipe Testing and Charlie's Place.&nbsp; He was a 
member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Great Bend Chamber of 
Commerce.&nbsp; When Bryan wasn't working, he enjoyed driving his RZR and 
spending time with friends and family, especially his nieces, nephews 
and kids, Jayden and Janica.

Survivors include his wife Radonda of the home, his father, Pete 
Kramer of Great Bend and mother, Jean A. Kramer of Garden City; a son, 
Jayden Kramer and daughter, Janica Kramer both of the home; two sisters,
 Anna Kramer and Stacey Kramer (Milton Barnes) both of Garden City; and

Bryan Anthony Kramer

Evelyn Lucille Hoffman, 92, died August 13, 2022, at Clara Barton 
Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born June 11, 1930, at St. Rose 
Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Ferdinand and Angela 
(Werner) Johanning. On September 10, 1953, she married Victor Hoffman at
 St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood, Kansas. He survives.

A lifetime resident of the Ellinwood and Hoisington area, Evelyn 
graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1948. She then attended Sacred 
Heart College, where she was a music major, but later graduated as a 
R.N. from St. Rose School of Nursing in Great Bend in 1953. She worked 
as a R.N. at the Emporia Hospital for a short time. After she and her 
husband moved to Hoisington, she utilized these skills in her life long 
work of being a farm wife and mother.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
 She was a homemaker, a partner in Hoffman Ranches, and E&amp;V Oil 
Company. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and Altar 
Society, where she exhibited her strong faith both in worship and in 
church activities, like leading RCIA classes. She was a volunteer for 
over 50 years for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, and served on the 
Barton County Planning Board from 1985-1988. 

Memberships included the 
St. Rose and Dominican Alumni Association and Kansas Farm Bureau. In 
2002, Evelyn was the recipient of the Farm Bureau Century Farm Award. 
Her great grandfather, Ferdinand Koett, acquired the land in 1892, and 
it has been owned by family members since. She was a talented painter, a
 beautiful piano player, and enjoyed playing bridge with the Tri-N 
Bridge Club. With her main focus being faith, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years; four children, 
Alan (Kathy) Hoffman of Hoisington, Joan Hoffman of Lawrence, Wayne 
(Melanie) Hoffman of Red Cloud, Neb., and Leon Hoffman of Peyton, Colo.;
 a son-in-law, Todd Musser; ten grandchildren, Eric (Mandy) Hoffman, 
Kevin (Veronica) Hoffman, Nathan (Kimberly) Hoffman, Ryan (Jenna) 
Hoffman, Bejamin Myers, Paul Myers, Landon (Breanna) Hoffman, Aliese 
Hoffman, Sarah Musser, and Marisa Musser; fourteen great-grandchildren; 
and a sister, Arlene Kutina of Great Bend. She is preceded in death by 
her parents; a daughter, Ann E. Musser; and a sister, Thelma Dreiling.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 
2022, with family to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m., and a Vigil
 and Rosary to begin at 7 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.

Melvin Pfannenstiel, age 86, of Hays, Kansas, died Monday, August 8, 2022, at his home.

He was born June 19, 1936, in Hays, Kansas, to Casper and Georgine 
(Dreiling) Pfannenstiel.&nbsp; He married Cora Lee (Schmidt) on January 2, 
1960, in Severine, Kansas.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on May 1, 2020.&nbsp;

He was a bookkeeper and did accounting most all of his life. He worked 
for TMP-Marian High School, Wasinger Brothers Plumbing-Heating and A/C,&nbsp;
 Bruce Weilert Company, Northwestern Office Supply, Vitztum Commercial 
Flooring, and Fox &amp; Co.&nbsp;

Mel grew up in Hays, was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy,
 he attended one year at St. Francis Seminary, and was a graduate of 
Fort Hays State College.&nbsp;

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of St. Joseph Catholic 
Church, St. Joseph Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his children, Mark Pfannenstiel, Hays, KS; and Cindy 
Pfannenstiel, Pensnett, England; his brother, Marvin Pfannenstiel, Hays,
 KS; his sister, Donna Harkness, Hays, KS.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his son, Matthew; his 
brother, Irvin Pfannenstiel; his sisters, Wilma Staab; Anita Pfeifer, 
JoAnn Winkley; and Darlene Bender.

Debra Rose Langer, 70, passed away on August 11, 2022, at Wesley 
Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on January 31, 1952, in Great 
Bend, to Albion &amp; Marcelline (Schwartz) Suchy. She married Robert 
“Bob” Langer July 1, 2002, in Great Bend.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Debra was a retired custodian for 
Barton Community College and USD 428. She was a member of Prince of 
Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society. 
She liked playing bingo and tending to plants and flowers. Debra enjoyed
 spending time with her family but especially loved being with her 
grandchildren.

Survivors include, her husband Bob Langer of the home; two sons, 
Travis Moos (Kimmie Christendon) and Curtis Moos (Rachel Corn) all of 
Great Bend; a daughter, Tammy Cruse (Tim) of Sedgwick; a brother, Randy 
Suchy (Cristy) of Great Bend; four sisters, Diane Morris of Hoisington, 
Brenda Ohnmacht (Steve) of Great Bend, Arlene Manning (Greg) of
