Becky (Richardson) Shunn passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at 
the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS, at the age of 60. She 
was born on July 15, 1960 to Earl and Colleen (Wangler) Richardson in 
Plainville, KS. Becky married Scott Shunn in 1996. They later divorced.

Becky was a lifetime resident of Rooks County growing up in Stockton
 where she graduated from Stockton High School with the Class of 1974. 
She attended Cosmetology School in Goodland and returned to Rooks County
 where she worked as a hairdresser for the remainder of her life. She 
owned Trimmer’z Salon in Plainville for many years and she and Scott 
owned the Duck Blind in Stockton. Becky was a member of the Hospital 
Auxiliary, Sigma Phi Epsilon Sorority in Plainville, and was a lifetime 
member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 
 Becky loved her family, close friends, and was always up for a 
party. She would help anyone she could. She loved animals and fed many 
cats around her house - up until she met a skunk that is! 
 Becky was a hard-working and fun-loving woman who loved life. She 
will be remembered for her big heart, tender care, her smile as bright 
as sunshine, her love for animals, being stubborn to a fault, and always
 the life of the party. Her beautiful spirit will endure forever. We 
mourn the years that she will not have, and we celebrate the time that 
was hers and the life that she lived. 
 Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Colleen Richardson of 
Stockton; sister, Sandra Staton of Stockton; step-daughter, Brianna 
Shunn; nephews, George and Tony Glenn, and Jonathan and Donald Staton; 
and great-niece and nephew, Jasmine and Bubba Staton; as well as several
 colleagues and friends.
 She is preceded in death by her father, Earl Richardson; and sister, Julie Glenn.
 A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 
11:00 AM at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery located northwest of Stockton. 
Visitation will be held on Thursday, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the funeral 
home in Stockton.

Becky (Richardson) Shunn

Gary Lee Herber, 75, passed away on November 17, 2020, at his home in 
Dorrance, KS. He was born on January 17, 1945, in Ellsworth, KS to 
Chester and Ethel (Washburn) Herber. He was united in marriage to 
Carolyn Wilkerson on January 15, 1966 in Russell, KS. 
 Gary grew up in Dorrance and graduated from Dorrance High School in 
1963. He spent his life farming. He was also a bus driver for USD 407, 
USD328, and USD112 until his retirement in 2016. Gary was a member of 
the First Lutheran Church in Dorrance, Shriners, and the Masonic Lodge. 
He enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping at Wilson Lake. He also enjoyed
 playing Pitch and Pinochle, and watching the Chiefs, but what Gary 
enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. 
 Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn of the home; sons, 
Timothy Herber and wife Christi of Dorrance, Jimmie Herber and wife 
Julie of Newport News, Virginia, and Jamie Herber and wife Jamie of 
Dorrance; and six grandchildren.
 He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ethel; and his brother, Larry Herber.

James Norbert Lutters, age 68, passed away on November 13, 2020 at 
the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born 
on March 25, 1952 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Joseph and Marcella 
(Kraus) Lutters.

Graveside funeral service is planned for Friday, November 20, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at the Ransom Cemetery, Ransom, Kansas.

Viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on 
Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the 
family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

James Norbert Lutters

LeRoy P. Rube, 95, passed away Nov. 16, 2020, at Hays Medical Center,
 Hays.&nbsp; He was born April 3, 1925, at Russell County, to Philip and 
Margaret (Templing) Rube.

LeRoy was baptized in 1925 and later confirmed in 1940 at St. John 
Lutheran Church, north of Susank.&nbsp; In 1944 he was inducted into the 
United States Army during WW II, at the age of 19, and honorably 
discharged as a Private First Class in 1946.&nbsp; LeRoy took his training at
 Camp Robinson, Ark.&nbsp; He left Christmas Eve, 1944, from New York Harbor,
 for the European Theater.&nbsp; He hit the front lines Jan., 1945, at 
Alsace-Lorraine with the 45th Infantry Division of the 179th Regiment, 1st
 Battalion Co., as a rifleman.&nbsp; His combat career also took him to 
Koblenz, Bamberg, Nurnberg, Freising, Munich and Dachau.&nbsp; Leroy received
 the European Theater Ribbon, two Battle Stars (Rhineland and Central 
Europe), Combat Infantry Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.

After the War, Leroy married Dorothy Karst, the love of his life, on 
April 20, 1947, in Barton County, at St. John Lutheran Church.&nbsp; They 
moved into their new Hoisington home on their wedding night, where they 
resided for 73 years.&nbsp; LeRoy worked for the City Of Hoisington for 33 
years, retiring as the public street superintendent in 1987.&nbsp; He was a 
member of Concordia Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 286 and Life 
Member of V.F.W. Post 7428, all of Hoisington, 45th Infantry Division Association, National Rifle Association and AARP.

Survivors include wife Dorothy of the home, and numerous nieces, 
nephews, cousins and friends, whom he adored very much.&nbsp; LeRoy was 
preceded in passing by a sister, Leona Niedens.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at 
Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington, with Rev. Gary Wolf presiding.&nbsp;
 Masks and social distancing are recommended. &nbsp;Interment will follow at 
Hoisington Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Ft. Riley 
Honor Guard.&nbsp; Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday,

LeRoy P. Rube

Nona Jo Jamison, lovingly known to most as “Mamaw,” departed her loving family to be with her Lord on November 14, 2020.

Nona Jo was born on January 29, 1937, at her parents’ home
 in rural Hoisington, Kansas, to the parents of Ray and Helen McCaffree 
Smith and older brother, Lawrence R. Smith. At the age of four, she 
started attending school in a one room schoolhouse. As she grew older, 
she learned the strength and importance of family, community, and work 
ethic from her parents Ray and Helen. Her father Ray dedicated years of 
service to Hoisington by starting the Kansas Brick and Tile Company and 
promoting community and State. Nona Jo learned the gift of teaching, 
guiding, and nurturing a family from her blessed mother, Helen. Nona 
Jo’s strong and dedicated faith to her Lord, Jesus Christ, came from the
 religious influences of her mother and grandparents. Nona Jo loved her 
church and was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in
 Hoisington.

Nona Jo loved to help her father on the farm, especially 
taking care of her horses and her dog. She spent many hours on horseback
 in the spirit of her hero, Roy Rogers, enjoying the outdoors. She loved
 nature’s beauty. Nona Jo developed her “while you’re resting” hard work
 ethic by helping her dad herd sheep, milk cows, haul hay, and tend 
gardens and orchards. She also learned how to make a house a “home” from
 her mother, from cooking the best meals without recipes to having the 
best smelling laundry and sheets. On November 19, 1953, Nona Jo married 
H. D. “Holly” Jamison in New Mexico. The couple moved back to Hoisington
 and later divorced. Nona Jo continued to raise two beautiful daughters 
Tela Jo and Tobi Lu. In June 1987, Nona Jo began working at Kansas Brick
 and Tile, and later she followed in her father’s and brother’s 
footsteps by becoming President and General Manager.&nbsp; She retired in 
November 2010.

After losing her precious daughter, Tela, at the age of 
19, Nona Jo continued to hold her family close, as she and Tobi were 
inseparable. When Tobi met Randy, she gained a son and loved her 
“Randrew” as her own. As her family grew, they always tackled and 
celebrated life together. Nona Jo considered her family and her precious
 puppies Jazzy and Gidget her “best friends and greatest joy.” She 
embedded her strong faith in each one of them. She lived life by The 
Golden Rule and strongly believed people should be honest, love others, 
and have faith in God.

Her light will continue to shine in her family. She is survived by 
her daughter Tobi Strickland and husband Randy; granddaughter Tandi Mai 
and husband Clint, and great-granddaughter Leah; granddaughter Kayci 
Teghtmeyer and husband Daren; and two she helped raise as her own, “son”
 Matt Jamison and wife Lisa; and “daughter” Shelly Demel and husband 
Brad. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Helen Smith; her 
brother, Lawrence Smith; and her daughter, Tela Jo Jamison.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, with
 family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral

Nona Jo Jamison

On January 2nd, 1935, in the small rural Western Kansas town of Oakley, Noe (later changed to Noah) and Eulalia (Wolfe) Frazier welcomed their third child and second daughter into the family.&nbsp; They named this little dark-haired girl Beverly June (her dad liked to call her “Bevy June”

Despite being born during the Great Depression and the infamous Dust Bowl Era, Beverly grew up happy.&nbsp; Except for a year in Klamath Falls OR, the family lived all of Beverly’s pre-adult life in Oakley.&nbsp; She was involved in countless community, church and school activities and was Valedictorian of her Oakley High School graduation class.&nbsp; “Bev” as she became known, attended Cottey College in Nevada MO for a year, then Washburn University in Topeka KS for a semester.

While Bev was going to college, her parents moved from Oakley to Hays KS where they owned and operated a motel.&nbsp; She helped her parents by working at the motel the summer of 1954; and she met Roger Faubion that August.&nbsp; While it wasn’t quite love at first sight, it was close:&nbsp; they were married 7 months later on March 5, 1955.&nbsp; To this union were born 3 sons, one died in infancy.

During the next several years the family lived in Hays plus other Kansas towns of Hill City, Goodland and Larned where Roger oversaw large construction projects.&nbsp; When the boys started school, Mom stayed in Hays with them while Dad commuted from wherever his job location took him.

These stay-at-home years gave Bev the opportunity to work for the local Radio/TV station KAYS, at a variety of jobs.&nbsp; Her most memorable jobs there were as host of “Bev’s Party Line” and “Women’s Page” (daily weekday radio programs).&nbsp; Bev was very active in Hays and surrounding community functions:&nbsp; MC for fashions shows; on judging panels for various area competitions; a participant in local talent productions; President of the Lincoln Elementary School PTA; a Director on the State Board of the Kansas Women’s Bowling Association; in charge of the girls summer slow-pitch softball program in Hays; a slow-pitch umpire; and an active member of many other clubs and organizations.

In 1973, the family moved to Arizona.&nbsp; It wasn’t long before Bev decided to get back in the outside work force.&nbsp; She started as a Kelly Girl Temp which led to a permanent position with the Arizona Department of Public Safely eventually as a Supervisor in the CIS Division.&nbsp; After the boys were out of high school and in college, Bev quit her job to go along with Roger when he was sent out of town on construction projects.&nbsp; They enjoyed living in several Arizona cities and towns, plus a year in Albuquerque NM, making many close and lasting friendships along the way.

This ‘vagabond era’ ended in 1989 when Roger and Bev settled in Scottsdale AZ.&nbsp; While there, Bev once again went back to work, this time with Rural/Metro Corporation (fire and ambulance with nationwide operations).&nbsp; She had progressed to the position of Executive Assistant in the Finance Department when she retired in 2000.&nbsp; In the meantime, Roger had established his own business and Bev managed those office duties as well.&nbsp; When Roger retired in 2002, they moved to Solera, an active adult community in Chandler AZ.

At the age of 71 (2006), Bev’s right leg was amputated above the knee.&nbsp; It was a bit of a set-back, or course, but Bev took it all in stride (pun intended) and never let it get her down:&nbsp; she maintained a positive attitude along with her signature love of life.&nbsp; She even named her stump LTH (Less Than Half), her prosthesis Lena (get it?) and her walker Nessy (short for Necessary).&nbsp; Also, hand controls were installed on the car so she could continue to drive (you go girl!).

Bev passed away peacefully in her sleep, on October 27th, 2020. She was at her home with her loved ones. She was 85 years young.&nbsp; She chose to do a full-body donation to scientific research, followed by cremation.&nbsp; There will be no funeral nor memorial service; a Celebration of Life may be held later. In lieu of flowers, Bev requested that any gesture of remembrance be given to your favorite charity in her name – with special thanks and heartfelt appreciation from Bev and her family.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband Roger (2011), their son Brad (2018), their infant son Ralph David (1957), her parents, her brother, two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

Bev served &amp; impacted countless people during her lifetime with fun and an ever-present positive attitude. Especially her loved ones. She is dearly missed and will never be forgotten.&nbsp;

 </figure>On January 2nd, 1935, in the small rural Western Kansas town of Oakley, Noe (later changed to Noah) and Eulalia (Wolfe) Frazier welcomed their third child and second daughter into the family.&nbsp; They named this little dark-haired girl Beverly June (her dad liked to call her “Bevy June”Despite being born during the Great Depression and the infamous Dust Bowl Era, Beverly grew up happy.&nbsp; Except for a year in Klamath Falls OR, the family lived all of Beverly’s pre-adult life in Oakley.&nbsp; She was involved in countless community, church and school activities and was Valedictorian of her Oakley High School graduation class.&nbsp; “Bev” as she became known, attended Cottey College in Nevada MO for a year, then Washburn University in Topeka KS for a semester.While Bev was going to college, her parents moved from Oakley to Hays KS where they owned and operated a motel.&nbsp; She helped her parents by working at the motel the summer of 1954; and she met Roger Faubion that August.&nbsp; While it wasn’t quite love at first sight, it was close:&nbsp; they were married 7 months later on March 5, 1955.&nbsp; To this union were born 3 sons, one died in infancy.During the next several years the family lived in Hays plus other Kansas towns of Hill City, Goodland and Larned where Roger oversaw large construction projects.&nbsp; When the boys started school, Mom stayed in Hays with them while Dad commuted from wherever his job location took him.These stay-at-home years gave Bev the opportunity to work for the local Radio/TV station KAYS, at a variety of jobs.&nbsp; Her most memorable jobs there were as host of “Bev’s Party Line” and “Women’s Page” (daily weekday radio programs).&nbsp; Bev was very active in Hays and surrounding community functions:&nbsp; MC for fashions shows; on judging panels for various area competitions; a participant in local talent productions; President of the Lincoln Elementary School PTA; a Director on the State Board of the Kansas Women’s Bowling Association; in charge of the girls summer slow-pitch softball program in Hays; a slow-pitch umpire; and an active member of many other clubs and organizations.In 1973, the family moved to Arizona.&nbsp; It wasn’t long before Bev decided to get back in the outside work force.&nbsp; She started as a Kelly Girl Temp which led to a permanent position with the Arizona Department of Public Safely eventually as a Supervisor in the CIS Division.&nbsp; After the boys were out of high school and in college, Bev quit her job to go along with Roger when he was sent out of town on construction projects.&nbsp; They enjoyed living in several Arizona cities and towns, plus a year in Albuquerque NM, making many close and lasting friendships along the way.This ‘vagabond era’ ended in 1989 when Roger and Bev settled in Scottsdale AZ.&nbsp; While there, Bev once again went back to work, this time with Rural/Metro Corporation (fire and ambulance with nationwide operations).&nbsp; She had progressed to the position of Executive Assistant in the Finance Department when she retired in 2000.&nbsp; In the meantime, Roger had established his own business and Bev managed those office duties as well.&nbsp; When Roger retired in 2002, they moved to Solera, an active adult community in Chandler AZ.At the age of 71 (2006), Bev’s right leg was amputated above the knee.&nbsp; It was a bit of a set-back, or course, but Bev took it all in stride (pun intended) and never let it get her down:&nbsp; she maintained a positive attitude along with her signature love of life.&nbsp; She even named her stump LTH (Less Than Half), her prosthesis Lena (get it?) and her walker Nessy (short for Necessary).&nbsp; Also, hand controls were installed on the car so she could continue to drive (you go girl!).Bev passed away peacefully in her sleep, on October 27th, 2020. She was at her home with her loved ones. She was 85 years young.&nbsp; She chose to do a full-body donation to scientific research, followed by cremation.&nbsp; There will be no funeral nor memorial service; a Celebration of Life may be held later. Gale Ray “The Captain” Wood, 72, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the Russell Regional Hospital.

Gale was born February 11, 1948, in Grant County, Kansas.  He was the son of Andrew and Jessie (Neill) Wood.  He grew up on a farm in Grant County and graduated from Satanata High School.  He then attended Ft. Hays State University.

Gale was united in marriage to Carol Jean Johnson on June 3, 1967, in Salina, Kansas.  This union was blessed with two children; Kelly and Cindy.  They made their home in Salina for a short time before moving to Ulysses, Kansas.  After 18 years, they moved to Lakin, Kansas and then in 2000 they moved to Russell.

Gale was the owner and operator of the Irrigation Repair Service in Ulysses, before that he worked in repairs for the John Deere Implement Company.  Later in life he was a truck driver for Deitz Construction for 20 years.  He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar Racing, collecting guns and coins and driving his truck.

Gale’s surviving family include his wife of 53 years, Carol of Russell, Kansas; daughter, Cindy Jury (Rod) of Russell, Kansas; brother, Ben Wood of Ulysses, Kansas; granddaughter, Sadie Wood of Hays, Kansas; and two great grandchildren, Ronan Elliott and Hayden Ruiz.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents and son Kelly Ray Wood.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.  No visitation will be held, cremation has taken place.  A private burial of ashes will follow at a later date.

Janet Marie Hoverson was born April 26, 1938, in Almena, KS, to Henry
 C. “Hank” and Christine (Currey)&nbsp; Kusel.&nbsp; She passed away November 13, 
2020 at the Smith County Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, KS, at the 
age of 82.

As a young girl, Janet and her family lived in several locations 
where her dad worked:&nbsp; Almena, Downs, Stockton, Smith Center, and 
Kensington.&nbsp; During her childhood, her best buddy was her older brother,
 James “Jim” Kusel; she also had very fond memories of time spent with 
her cousins.

Her education began in Smith Center, KS; then after moving to 
Kensington while in the sixth grade, she completed her education at 
Kensington, KS, where she graduated from high school with the Class of 
1956.&nbsp; Janet enjoyed high school very much and she was very active.&nbsp; She
 played tenor saxophone in the band, was drum majorette of the marching 
band, sang with the girls glee club and mixed chorus, and was a 
cheerleader for 3 years.&nbsp; During summer months, Janet played town-team 
softball.

Janet’s parents opened a grocery store in Kensington called “Hank’s 
Market”.&nbsp; Both she and her brother, Jim, would help out at the store 
after school, on weekends, and in the summer.&nbsp; She told her family that 
working in the store taught her many valuable lessons, especially to 
always treat people with respect and kindness.&nbsp; She took that lesson to 
heart her entire life.

On April 27, 1958, Janet married Don A. “D.A.” Hoverson in 
Kensington, KS.&nbsp; Don was in the U.S. Army at that time, stationed at Ft.
 Devens, MA.&nbsp; Janet moved to Massachusetts to be with Don during his 
military service.&nbsp; After his discharge from the Army, she and Don 
returned to Kansas and settled in Agra. &nbsp;Their family was blessed with 
the birth of two daughters, Tammy in 1959, and Lori in 1961.&nbsp; In 1962, 
“D.A.” moved his family to a farm located one half mile south of his 
parents.&nbsp; Their family was completed with the birth of another daughter,
 Lynda, in 1963 and a son, Dan, in 1968.&nbsp;

In the spring of 1969, the couple began the process of building a new
 house just east of where they had been living.&nbsp; They moved into their 
new home later that summer, raising their children and making memories 
there for years to come. &nbsp;In December 2007, after Don had retired from 
farming, the couple remodeled Janet’s childhood home, and moved to 
Kensington, KS.&nbsp; Don passed away on December 4, 2012, and Janet missed 
him every day since.&nbsp;

Janet was a loyal and loving wife of 54 years, devoted mother, 
grandmother, and great-grandmother. &nbsp;She brought life and light to this 
world. &nbsp;She left her family with so many wonderful memories, especially 
of holidays spent together enjoying her wonderful cooking and infectious
 laughter.&nbsp; She was involved in numerous community activities.&nbsp; She was a
 faithful member of the United Church in Kensington, KS, where she 
served as a pianist, as an organist, in bible study, and in community 
service.&nbsp; Janet also helped with Meals on Wheels, she served on the 
Kensington Library Board, she was a member of the K-town Kates, and 
loved getting together with her friends to play bridge and have coffee.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Don, her brother Jim, and her parents, Hank and Chris Kusel.

Survivors include her son Daniel and his wife Michelle of Valley 
Center, KS; her daughters Lynda McKee and husband Jon, of Brewster, KS, 
Lori Hoverson of Hays, KS, Tamara Daubert and husband, Paul, of Lakeway,
 TX; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Private family services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020
 at the United Church of Kensington with Pastor Emily Blank 
officiating.&nbsp; The services will be streamed live <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Community/United-Church-of-Kensington-203236859856684/">on the United Church of Kensington Facebook page.</a>&nbsp; Friends are welcomed to attend the burial in the Agra Cemetery, Agra, KS following the services.

Mrs. Hoverson will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 
a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 
Phillipsburg.

Janet M. Hoverson

Herta (Bauer) Ehrlich, 88, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Russell Regional Hospital.

Herta was born on April 28, 1932, in Voigtsgrun, Czechoslovakia, which was a German speaking community in Sudetenland.  Sudetenland is the historical German name for the northern, southern and western areas of former Czechoslovakia to Hermine (Stutzig) and Joseph Bauer.  After WW2, when Herta was 15 years old, the Czechs ran the German community out of Czechoslovakia taking all their belongings from them.  Herta’s family settled in the Bavarian Alps town of Blaichach Alg.  Herta loved playing her Accordion and was a wonderful seamstress.  Herta met and fell in love with Wilbur Ehrlich and they married on December 11, 1953 and out of this union they had Betty and Willy.

In 1953, they moved to Russell from Germany.  Over the years, Herta worked for Virtue, J.M. McDonalds Clothing Store, and Star Cleaners, baby sat for family and friends, sewing and ironing for people and help Wilbur with farming.  Herta spent lots of hours working in her flower beds.

Herta is survived by one daughter, Betty Funk (Allen) of Russell, Kansas; son, Willy Ehrlich of Hays, Kansas; grandchildren, Cory Funk (Jennifer) of Russell, Kansas, Dustin Funk (Samantha) of Orange Park, Florida, Aubrey Fisher (R.J.) of Hays, Kansas, Amanda Long (Bob) of Hays, Kansas and Alisha Edinborough (Andy) of Maize, Kansas; nine great Grandchildren, Gavin Manning of Hays, Kansas, Alana Leiker of Maize, Kansas, Andrew Edinborough of Maize, Kansas, Madicyn Urban of Hays, Kansas,  Ashlyn Edinborough of Maize, Kansas and Aleya Edinborough of Maize, Kansas, Kyleigh Funk of Russell, Kansas, Kasen Fisher of Hays, Kansas, and Gracie Long of Hays, Kansas; sister, Erni Brandl of Blaichach, Germany; three nephews, Thomas Brandl, Klause Brandl and Florian Brandl and their families of Blaichach, Germany; and Aunt Rita Galyardt of Russell, Kansas.

Herta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur, and brother-in-law Sepp Brandl.

A private family Service and burial in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery will take place on Friday, November 20, 2020.  Public visitation will be held Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Floyd Edward Schuckman, 88, passed away on November 15, 2020 at the 
Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on October 3, 
1932 in McCracken, Kansas the son of Alexander and Anna (Schaeffer) 
Schuckman.

Graveside funeral service will be on Saturday, November 21, 2020, 
12:00 noon, at the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Ransom, Kansas. Viewing will 
be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Friday, November 20th, 
2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 -
 7:00 p.m..

Floyd Edward Schuckman

Beth Ann Wilson, 58, of Lucas, KS was called to her eternal home on 
November 14, 2020. &nbsp;She was born December 26, 1961, to Wilbur Dean and 
Helen (Prester) Bates in Russell, KS. &nbsp;She grew up in the Lucas area and
 attended the Lucas-Luray school system, and achieved her higher 
education from Brown Mackie College, Salina, KS.

Beth married Robert (Bob) Wilson on July 6, 1991, on the slope of a 
Colorado mountain. &nbsp;She spent her entire life helping others in the 
Lucas area as a CNA, CMA and EMT.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards 
and camping in Colorado. &nbsp;Beth's greatest joy was the time she spent 
with her nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. &nbsp;Later in 
life, Beth and her husband served as camping hosts in Colorado. &nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her mother Helen;&nbsp;brother:&nbsp;Steven;&nbsp;niece:&nbsp;Katherine Bates;&nbsp;and mother-in-law:&nbsp;Donna Wilson.&nbsp;

Left to mourn her passing are,&nbsp;husband: Robert (Bob) Wilson&nbsp;of the

Doris Jean Nicks Hemken, 85, Rush Center, Kansas, died Monday, November 16, 2020, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Doris was born June 23, 1935, in Hector, Arkansas, the daughter of 
Howard and Laverta (Coffman) Williams.&nbsp; She was a resident of Rush 
County, Kansas, for 33 years, moving from Colorado.&nbsp; She was an 
electronics technician for Hewlett-Packard before her retirement.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Walnut Valley Senor Center, and Lions Club, all of Rush Center, Kansas.

On December 10, 1952, she married Don Nicks at Raton, New Mexico.&nbsp; He
 preceded her in death August 13, 1998.&nbsp; On February 23, 2008, she 
married Norman Hemken at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas.&nbsp; He 
preceded her in death December 6, 2012.

Survivors include:&nbsp; four sons, Robert Dean Nicks (Cheryl), Nickerson,
 Kansas, Philip Lang Nicks (Mary), Rush Center, Kansas, Charles Lee 
Nicks (Gail), Johnstown, Colorado, and Kevin Arthur Nicks (Patty), 
Whitewater, Wisconsin; two daughters, Nancy Diane Werner (Mike), 
Loveland, Colorado, and Jo Ann Dobson (Shaun), Rockville, Indiana; 13 
grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and one brother, Geoffrey Williams.

time, this is a private, immediate family only, graveside service and

Doris Jean Nicks Hemken

Claude M. Rogers, 81 passed away on November 16, 2020 at the Sun Porch of Dodge City, Kansas.

He was born on April 6, 1939 at Jetmore the son of Otto and Fae (Sloan) Rogers.

A lifetime area resident he was a member of St John the Baptist 
Catholic Church, Spearville. He was a farmer and rancher in Hodgeman 
County.

On June 6, 1964 he married Joyce Kropp at Spearville; she survives.

Other survivors: include two sons, Chad (Sherry) Rogers, Spearville; 
Todd (Kathy) Rogers, Fairfield, Iowa; two daughters, Amy Speer, Dighton;
 Dana (Ross) Dyer, Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, and five 
great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Sylvia Rogers, Wanda Courtney, and Edna Snell.

Memorial Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at St. 
John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville with Father John Forkouh

Brenda Slaughter, age 62, of Ellis, 
Kansas passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the University of 
Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She was born March 7, 1958 in 
Hays, Kansas to Fred E. and Audrey E. Slaughter. Brenda graduated from 
Ellis High School in 1976 and earned a Master's Degree from Fort Hays 
State University.

Brenda was a caregiver and a member of the Ellis United Methodist Church, the Prairie Garden Club and the Ellis VFW Auxiliary.&nbsp;

She is survived by her significant 
other, Burl Sheldon; a brother, Dean Slaughter and wife Sandi of Ellis; 
two sisters, Cara Slaughter of Hays and Alane Slaughter of Beloit; 
nephews and niece, Jeremy, John, Jasmine and Michael as well as great 
nephews and niece, Lane, Audrey, Sean and Luca.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 
November 17, 2020 at the Ellis United Methodist Church. Private family 
inurnment will be at a later date.

Brenda Slaughter

Julie Ann Britton, 64, of Atwood, Kansas, died on November 13, 2020. 
Julie was born in Atwood on January 8, 1956. She was the youngest 
daughter of William Walter Sawer and Erma Kathleen (Chvatal) Sawer. She 
was the sister of James Sawer and Carol Brown. 
Growing up in Atwood, Julie was always an artist in the community. In 
her senior year of high school, her art teacher recommended her for a 
project designing and painting a hot air balloon for the band YES. She 
graduated from Atwood High School in 1974. 
Julie's first marriage was to Donn Miller. Her second marriage was to 
Dane Blackmour Britton in Ellsworth on January 30, 1982. Julie and Dane 
were blessed with Julie's only child, her daughter Mackenzie Baker 
Britton, a year later. 
Julie continued both with her education and her true passion in life, 
being an artist. In 1990, she piloted the Ellsworth Area Arts Council 
and established the Ellsworth Area Art Center featuring local artists. 
In 1991, she pursued advanced study with a focus in printmaking at the 
Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy. Julie 
graduated Fort Hays State University in 1992 with a Bachelor's of Fine 
Arts (Cum Laude) with a focus on printmaking, art education, and art 
history. 
After her marriage to Dane ended, in 1992 Julie moved to Lincoln, Kansas,&nbsp; and expanded the Lincoln Arts Center as Director. During this time, she
 began teaching summer camps and classes which she continued throughout 
her life for children of all ages, senior citizens, intergenerational 
programs, individual therapeutic art programs, and youth at risk. 
Throughout her life, she held over 200 exhibits of her artwork 
throughout Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska. Julie served as a 
commissioner and chairperson to the Kansas Arts Commission. 
As a lifelong advocate and resident of small towns in Kansas, she 
immersed herself in improvement of the communities where she lived by 
writing grants to fund the localities' arts integration, medical, and 
social programs. Through her life, she assisted in raising over four 
million dollars in grant awards, employee campaigns, and tax credit 
programs in rural underserved areas. In addition to writing grants, she 
served on countless boards for federal, statewide, and rural entities. 
Julie immensely enjoyed travel. She said that she grew from the 
perspective it brought to her life. Some of her favorite international 
destinations included South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, England, Scotland, 
Italy, and Mexico. 
Julie’s final accomplishment was collaborating on the “YES Balloon 
Story” with David Watkinson and Donn Miller. The collection of 
memorabilia and stories kept her busy during 2020. The final written 
documentary, complete with photos of Julie painting and the balloon 
flying, can be seen at yesworld.com. There are current plans for an 
exhibit of the YES memorabilia in the United Kingdom. 
Julie’s surviving family include daughter Mackenzie Baker Britton, of 
Maryville, Illinois; niece Nichole (Sawer) Ramirez and husband Gilbert; 
nephews, Joshua Sawer and wife Sara, and Darren Brown; great-nephews 
Will Swecker and Keagan Sawer, and great-niece Audrey Sawer. She was 
preceded in death by her parents; stepfather George Beims; brother James
 Sawer; sister Carol Brown, and beloved grandparents. 
Julie was loved by so many in the communities she touched. Due to

Julie Ann Britton

Donald Howard Hays, 95, of Norton, KS passed away on November 15, 2020, at the Andbe Home in Norton. 

Donald grew to manhood on the family farms near Densmore, Sand Creek TWP, Norton County, and on Crooked Creek, Grant TWP, Norton County, Kansas, where his great grandparents, John and Caroline (Ritter) had come to preach and farm. Donald attended school at Timberlake School, District 27, having Velma Walcott, Maxine Stewart, Francis Hewett, and Goldie Turner, for teachers. Later he moved to Norton and in 2008 he moved to the Andbe Home.

Donald, the son of Floyd Everett Hays and Georgia Bertha (McGarity) Hays, was born March 31, 1925, near Densmore, Norton County, Kansas. He was a farmer and stockman. He also liked to make things and to do mechanics. He even made a boat when Harlan Lake was new and enjoyed boating on it as well as at Lake Sebelius. He had a garden and from it canned vegetables and made pickles that his family enjoyed.

Donald never strayed far from Norton County but did go to Denver and Pella, IA to see family. He was always a happy, caring person and was quite well known about Norton and Phillips Counties. 

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth; niece, Susan; nephews, Richard and Mark Getty and sister-in-law, Etta Hays. He is survived by his brother, Robert; sister, Rose Getty, and sister-in-law, Faith Hays and nieces and nephews: Gale Hays, Kathy, Phillip, and Paul Hays and Diane Getty.

Tyson A. Eaton, 41, Hays, died Saturday, November 14, 2020, at HaysMed.

He was born February 6, 1979, in 
Riverton, Wyoming, the son of Erik and Jacque (Murphy) Eaton.&nbsp; On 
September 30, 2006, he was united in marriage to Kelli J. Horn in Hays, 
and they celebrated 14 years of marriage.&nbsp; He was a call center manager 
for Asurion.&nbsp; In his youth, he enjoyed working summers at Hoback Village
 in Bondurant, Wyoming.&nbsp; He liked reading, camping, Barbeque, painting 
miniature figures, 3-D printing, making things, and assembling numerous 
LEGO sets.&nbsp; He was involved with Boy Scouts, and with his son Mason, 
Tyson enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons and especially liked playing 
Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.&nbsp; He was a techie, had a good sense of 
humor, and was very caring.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife Kelli of 
Hays, a son: Mason Eaton and a daughter: Kayden Eaton, both of Hays, a 
stepdaughter: Kylie of Hawthorne, NV, his father: Erik Eaton and

Kaylee Grace Koehn, infant, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas.  She was born on November 13, 2020, the daughter of Travis &amp; Becky Schmidt Koehn.

Survivors include her Parents - Travis &amp; Becky Koehn of Marienthal, Kansas, One Sister - Taya Koehn of Marienthal, Kansas, Grandparents - Karlan &amp; Sherry Koehn of Marienthal, Kansas, and Rusty &amp; Yvonne Schmidt of Wingo, Kentucky.

Howard LaRay Stephens was born March 24th, 1936,&nbsp; in Smith County, Kansas, to Harley Newton and Idolia Fern (McCormick) 
Stephens. He passed away November 11th, 2020, in Smith Center, Kansas, 
He was married to Lorena R. Giese on February 6th, 1966, at Gaylord, 
Kansas. To this union two sons were born. Howard attended school 5 years
 at Cedar Ridge Country school. He then completed elementary and high 
school at Kensington.&nbsp; After
 graduating from high school, Howard was employed at the Kirwin Wildlife
 Refuge for over 30 years as mechanic and heavy equipment operator. 
Howard was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard over 10 years. 
After retiring from his work at the Kirwin Wildlife Refuge, Howard 
worked as a mechanic at his own shop.&nbsp; Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Paul Newton, and his sister, Doris Arlene (Mrs. Albert Beckman). Howard
 is survived by his wife, Lorena, son, David and wife, Daylah, of 
Kensington, son, Dale, of Kensington, and 2 grandsons, Dawson and Dirk, 
and one granddaughter, Darby, and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place, a celebration of Howard's life will be announced at a later date.

Richard "Dick" Lee Nemechek of WaKeeney, KS went on to be with the 
Lord on November 13, 2020, at the age of 70.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born to Louis and 
Johanna (Gaschler) on July 25, 1950, in WaKeeney, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was united in 
marriage to Carol Henning on May 17, 1975, and spent his life as a 
resident of WaKeeney.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was a graduate of the Northwest Kansas Technical school in 
1970.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was also a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 
1970-1972.&nbsp;&nbsp;Richard was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring his
 beloved 1957 Pontiac Starchief Safari.&nbsp;&nbsp;He spent his summers going to 
car shows and possessed an impressive wealth of car knowledge.&nbsp;&nbsp;He had 
an amazing zest for life and always met everyone with a smile and a 
story.&nbsp;&nbsp;His infectious laugh would light up the room and he never knew a
 stranger. His true love was his family, in particular, his two 
grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;He will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife Carol of the home; daughters Holly (Jesse)
 Hale of Olathe, KS, and Jill (Bryce) Morton also of Olathe, KS; and 
grandchildren Paige and Matthew Morton; brother, Doug Nemechek of 
Belton, MO; sisters Charlotte Albers of Grinnell, KS Betty Lipp of 
Collyer, KS, Mary Jo (Gary) McClanahan of WaKeeney, KS; and multiple 
in-laws, nieces, and nephews.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents; 
his brothers Robert Nemechek, George Nemechek, and Bill Nemechek; and 
sister Darlene Tomanek.&nbsp;&nbsp;

There will be a graveside service for immediate family only, with a

Raymond “Ray” Herrman Jr., age 93 of Russell, Kansas, died Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Russell Regional Hospital.&nbsp; He was born September 9, 1927, at Liebenthal, Kansas, to Raymond and Lucy (Stecklein) Herrman Sr.&nbsp; He married Marietta (Gerstner) and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1968. He married Virginia (Weigel) Windholz and she preceded him in death on January 1, 2001. He married Gloria K. “Katy” (Maupin) Heinen on October 10, 2003, at Gorham, Kansas.

He was an auto mechanic most of his live at Vern Herrman Motors in Hays, he was also Shop Foreman at JC Penney’s Auto Center in Hays until it closed.&nbsp; Ray grew up in Liebenthal, attended school in Hays, and was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Navy.&nbsp; He was a member of St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell, the Russell 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Hays V.F.W. Post 9076, and a Past Commander.&nbsp;

Raymond 'Ray' Herrman Jr.

Lifelong resident of Sheridan County, Alfred “Al” John Rietcheck, 89, 
passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at the Sheridan County Health 
Complex Long Term Care in Hoxie, Kansas. Al was born in rural Sheridan 
County to John P. and Rose K. (Geerdes) Rietcheck on December 19, 1930. 
 He was the oldest of seven children. He attended Country School before 
graduating from Sheridan Community High School with the class of 1949. 
After high school, he served his country for four years as a member 
of the United States Air Force including a tour in Japan during the 
Korean War. After completing his time in the US Air Force, Al married 
the love of his life, Barbara Bange, on August 25, 1956 at St. Martin of
 Tours Catholic Church in Seguin, Kansas. They were married for 
sixty-three years. Al and Barbara were the parents of eleven 
boys.They made their home in Seguin where Al had a mechanic shop and 
worked on all types of vehicles and heavy equipment. They moved to Hoxie
 a few years ago to live out their remaining time together.
 Al was very mechanically minded from a young age. When in high 
school, Al completed several mechanical projects including a home-built 
tractor and a self-propelled walk behind mower that he used to mow the 
Seguin Cemetery. His natural talent for all things mechanical led to 
the opening of his business, Rietcheck Repair. Al was a hard worker and
 when he wasn’t fixing something in his shop, he was tinkering with a 
project. In 1980, Al developed a brain tumor. He went to Denver to 
have surgery to remove the tumor but had a blood clot following surgery.
 Al spent the next 3 months recovering and relearning basic life 
skills. Al was tough and knew he had a family at home that still needed 
him. When Al wasn’t working, he enjoyed doing woodworking projects. Al 
and Barbara really enjoyed traveling to Al’s Air Force reunions that 
were held all over the country. The last one they attended was in 2019
 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They told their family if they didn’t
 want to take them to the airport, they would get on a plane in Hays and
 go themselves. Needless to say, the family took them to the airport 
and picked them up after the trip. Al’s whole life was his family and 
work. His immediate and extended family were very important to him. Al
 had a very close relationship with his son, Brian, who was the youngest
 in the family and always held a special place in his heart. 
 Al is survived by his sons, Donald Rietcheck of Hoxie, Kansas, 
Ronald Rietcheck of Hoxie, Kansas, Gerald Rietcheck (Cynthia) of 
Wichita, Kansas, David Rietcheck (Lori) of Goodland, Kansas, Daniel 
Rietcheck (Char) of Colby, Kansas, Roger Rietcheck (LaDonna) of Hoxie, 
Kansas, Gregory Rietcheck (Kriste) of Bavaria, Kansas, Terrance 
Rietcheck of Collyer, Kansas, Richard Rietcheck of Rochester, 
Washington, Andrew Rietcheck (Denise) of Rossville, Kansas, and Brian

 </figure>Lifelong resident of Sheridan County, Alfred “Al” John Rietcheck, 89, 
passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at the Sheridan County Health 
Complex Long Term Care in Hoxie, Kansas. Al was born in rural Sheridan 
County to John P. and Rose K. (Geerdes) Rietcheck on December 19, 1930. 
 He was the oldest of seven children. He attended Country School before 
graduating from Sheridan Community High School with the class of 1949. 
After high school, he served his country for four years as a member 
of the United States Air Force including a tour in Japan during the 
Korean War. After completing his time in the US Air Force, Al married 
the love of his life, Barbara Bange, on August 25, 1956 at St. Martin of
 Tours Catholic Church in Seguin, Kansas. They were married for 
sixty-three years. Al and Barbara were the parents of eleven 
boys.They made their home in Seguin where Al had a mechanic shop and 
worked on all types of vehicles and heavy equipment. They moved to Hoxie
 a few years ago to live out their remaining time together.
 Al was very mechanically minded from a young age. When in high 
school, Al completed several mechanical projects including a home-built 
tractor and a self-propelled walk behind mower that he used to mow the 
Seguin Cemetery. His natural talent for all things mechanical led to 
the opening of his business, Rietcheck Repair. Al was a hard worker and
 when he wasn’t fixing something in his shop, he was tinkering with a 
project. In 1980, Al developed a brain tumor. He went to Denver to 
have surgery to remove the tumor but had a blood clot following surgery.
 Al spent the next 3 months recovering and relearning basic life 
skills. Al was tough and knew he had a family at home that still needed 
him. When Al wasn’t working, he enjoyed doing woodworking projects. Al 
and Barbara really enjoyed traveling to Al’s Air Force reunions that 
were held all over the country. The last one they attended was in 2019
 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They told their family if they didn’t
 want to take them to the airport, they would get on a plane in Hays and
 go themselves. Needless to say, the family took them to the airport 
and picked them up after the trip. Al’s whole life was his family and 
work. His immediate and extended family were very important to him. Al
 had a very close relationship with his son, Brian, who was the youngest
 in the family and always held a special place in his heart. 
 Al is survived by his sons, Donald Rietcheck of Hoxie, Kansas, 
Ronald Rietcheck of Hoxie, Kansas, Gerald Rietcheck (Cynthia) of 
Wichita, Kansas, David Rietcheck (Lori) of Goodland, Kansas, Daniel 
Rietcheck (Char) of Colby, Kansas, Roger Rietcheck (LaDonna) of Hoxie, 
Kansas, Gregory Rietcheck (Kriste) of Bavaria, Kansas, Terrance

Virginia Belle Dechant (Rogers) was born July 26, 1932, on a farm 
northeast of the small town of Lebanon, KS where she grew up.&nbsp; She was a
 softball pitcher, active in the Methodist Church, in the High School 
Glee Club and Girl’s Quartette and Trio, and the lead in several school 
plays in Junior and Senior High.&nbsp; Her friends called her “Ginnie” or 
“Jinx.”&nbsp; She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1950.&nbsp; Her senior 
classmates voted her as “most courteous.”

Following high school graduation, Virginia worked at the telephone 
company as a switchboard operator in the days that all calls went 
through the operator, and then the power company in Smith Center, KS.&nbsp; 
She had a small apartment with her best friend Sharon (Rollins) 
Rorabaugh known as “Squeak.”&nbsp; They were quite the pair.&nbsp; Her high school
 sweetheart, Earl Dechant, nicknamed “Pedro,” joined the Navy after 
graduation.&nbsp; Following a long-distance relationship, they were married 
on March 9, 1953, in the Chapel on the Norfolk Naval Base.&nbsp;

When Earl’s tour of duty was complete, they moved to Phillipsburg, KS
 to start their new life together. &nbsp;She went to work for the Phillips 
County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. &nbsp;Virginia 
loved working with, and helping, farmers with various farm programs for 
35 years.&nbsp; She was active in the Methodist, then United Methodist Church
 in Phillipsburg, singing in the choir and participating in Women’s 
Club.&nbsp;

Virginia balanced work with a life centered around her family; 
husband Earl and three boys, David, Stephen, and Thomas.&nbsp; On the run 
continually, she rarely missed an activity that her boys were involved 
in, sports or other, and was an avid scorekeeper at all their sporting 
events.&nbsp; As the boys were growing up, the family regularly took two-week
 summer vacations, leaving rural Kansas to see the United States from 
coast to coast and border to border.&nbsp; Along the way, they attended 
baseball games and took in historic landmarks.&nbsp; She instilled in her 
boys that they could go wherever they wanted to go and be whatever they 
wanted to be.&nbsp; As they went off to college, took their first jobs, and 
started families of their own, they made her proud and she continued to 
be an important part of their lives through her and Earl’s regular 
travels and visits.

In retirement, Virginia and Earl became RV’ers in 1992, first on an 
experimental basis in response to the shock from her boys that her and 
their dad were committing to sell their house. With the experiment a 
success, they committed to the RV life full time, even serving as 
campground hosts at many of their stops.&nbsp; She loved traveling, making 
new friends, and spending a significant part of the RV years in Texas, 
Colorado, Iowa, and Florida to continue spending time with her children 
and to get away from cold Kansas winters.&nbsp; During that time, she enjoyed
 and became an important part of her son’s families as well.&nbsp; Her 
commitment to family expanded, spending time with and enjoying the 
activities of her grandchildren who knew her as “G-ma.” &nbsp;&nbsp;

Following Earl’s passing in 2006, she settled down in Marion, IA 
where son David lived, with winter trips to Tampa, FL where sons Thomas 
lived and Stephen had a beach house.&nbsp; Her adventurous life continued 
with trips to Malaysia and Australia where she learned to treasure the 
different cultures, the sights and sounds that Stephen introduced her to
 with his international work assignments.

She loved baseball and the beach in Florida, was an avid walker, and 
cross stitched as well.&nbsp; She got to start it all over again enjoying and
 engaging with eleven great grandchildren who lovingly knew her as “Ma.”

She was a “classy” lady known for her patience and compassion.&nbsp; In 
her later years, she battled and eventually succumbed to Alzheimer’s 
disease.&nbsp; She passed peacefully with family present the evening of 
November 13, 2020.&nbsp; Tribute donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are
 appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents Fred 
and Mayme (Stones) Rogers, her sister Norma (Rogers) Sink, 
daughter-in-law Judy (Milton) Dechant, and grandson Matthew Dechant.&nbsp;

Virginia is survived by sons David and wife Kathy (Hadley) of Marion,
 IA, Stephen of Treasure Island, FL, and Thomas of Tampa, FL; 
grandchildren Layce (Dechant) and husband Scott Fillner of Cedar Rapids,
 IA, Brooks Dechant and wife Andrea of Marion, IA, Drew Dechant and wife

Margaret Mickelson, age 89 of Ellis, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis.

Private family services will be held with a public celebration of life service to be scheduled at a later date.
