Man dies after Kansas driver rear-ends motorized bicycle

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. —One person died in an accident just after 8:30p.m. Saturday in Jasper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009  Buick Enclave driven by Stephen E. Broddle, 71, Kansas City, Kansas was northbound in the driving lane of Interstate 49 one mile south of Jasper.

The SUV rear-ended a Phatmoto motorized bicycle driven by David J. Hurick Baughman, 21, Lamar.  Baughman was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Chappel Casket in Web City. Broddle was not injured. Baughman was not wearing a helmet, according to the MSHP.
