MANHATTAN —&nbsp;Featuring seven home games – including two with new league members – K-State Athletics and the Big 12 Conference announced Kansas State’s 2023 football schedule on Tuesday.

The 2023 campaign kicks off against Southeast Missouri on September 2, while the Wildcats host Troy – which finished in the top 20 in the final polls – on September 9. The Wildcats and SEMO will meet for the first time on the gridiron, while it will be the second all-time meeting between K-State and Troy after the Wildcats won at home, 41-5, in 2003.

Kansas State closes out non-conference action by traveling to face Missouri on September 16. It will be ninth time in the last 10 years the Wildcats will face an SEC team, including the first on the road since topping Mississippi State, 31-24, in 2019.

The Wildcats open up league play and the defense of their Big 12 title by hosting one of the league’s newest members, UCF, on September 23. The only other meeting between the Wildcats and Knights came in Manhattan in 2010, a 17-10 K-State victory on a touchdown with less than one minute remaining.

K-State then has its bye week before traveling to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to face Oklahoma State on Friday, October 6. It will be the Wildcats’ first regular-season weekday game since opening up the 2016 season on a Friday at Stanford and the first in conference action since hosting Baylor on a Thursday night in 2015.

The Wildcats travel to face Texas Tech on October 14 before back-to-back home games against TCU (October 21) and Houston (October 28). K-State and UH, another new Big 12 member in 2023, will be meeting for the first time ever.

<a>The month of November opens with a trip to Texas on November 4 and a home game against Baylor on November 11. The Dillons Sunflower Showdown will be in Lawrence this season on November 18, while the Wildcats close out the regular season by hosting Iowa State on November 25.</a>

The 2023 Big 12 Championship game will be held on December 1 at AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

HAYS – The TMP girls and boys basketball teams returned to
Mid-Continent League play Monday with a doubleheader sweep of the Oakley Plainsmen
in a pair of games that were originally scheduled for before the holiday break.

GIRLS – TMP 54, Oakley 40 The TMP girls held Oakley just one field goal in the second
quarter while out scoring the Plainsmen 17-5 to end the first half and open the
second half on their way to a 54-40 win Monday at Al Billinger Field House.

TMP’s Jaci VonLintel helped the Monarchs (8-5, 3-1 MCL) opened the game on
a 9-2 run only to see Oakley score seven straight tying the game at nine midway
through the first quarter.

VonLintel scored on TMP’s next possession and Julianna
Baalman scored five straight as part of a 18-6 run, capped off by a Claire Schippers
layup at the of the first half putting TMP up by 12 at 27-15.

The Monarchs led by as many as 18 to open the second half at
35-17 with an 8-2 run.

Oakley (5-11, 2-6) was able to close within 11 to start the fourth
quarter but TMP answered with a 7-0 run on their way to a 54-40 victory.

TMP’s Julianna Baalman scored a career-high 18 points to
lead all scorers. Jaci VonLintel added 14 points and Brooke Koenigsman 13 points.

BOYS: TMP 67, Oakley 35 The TMP boys used a 23-4 second quarter run to build a double-digit
lead on their way to a 67-35 win Monday.

After the teams were tied four times in the first quarter,
the last time at nine, Dylan Werth made a pair of free throws and Landon Rozean
connected on a three-pointer giving TMP (10-2, 4-0 MCL) a five-point lead at 14-9. A lead they
never surrendered the rest of the way. TMP led 14-12 at the end of the first
quarter.

Luke Rome scored eight straight points to open the second quarter
for the Monarchs while TMP outscored Oakley (7-6, 2-6) 23-4 to build a 37-16 lead. They
led 37-21 at halftime.

Already leading by double-figures in the third quarter, the
Monarchs closed the third quarter on an 8-0 for a 57-26 lead.

With the 31 point TMP lead and a running clock in the fourth
quarter TMP clinched their seventh straight win, 67-35. 

TMP finished with three players in double-figures led by
Dylan Werth’s 14 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the
season. He added six blocks in the win.

Joey Mindrup finished with a career-high 12 points on four
three-pointers and Luke Rome added 11 points.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Donna Kelce is going to have to pull out that now-familiar custom jersey — the one with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's front stitched to Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce's back — one more time this season.

At least this time, she'll get to see her boys in person.

For the first time in Super Bowl history, a pair of siblings will play each other on the NFL's grandest stage. Kelce helped the Chiefs return to their third championship game in four seasons on Sunday night when they beat the Bengals for the AFC title, while Jason has the Eagles back for the second time in six years after their NFC title win over the 49ers.

“Cool scenario to be in, you know?” Travis Kelce said. “My mom can't lose.”

Indeed, there have been plenty of famous NFL siblings over the years, and many had some memorable matchups: Peyton and Eli Manning, Tiki and Ronde Barber. But they never reached the same Super Bowl, or had to put their dear old mom in such a predicament, where one will be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at the other one's expense.

“It's going to be an amazing feeling playing against him,” added Travis, whose team has gotten the better of big brother's Eagles the last three matchups. “I respect everyone over there in the Eagles' organization. You won't see me talk too much trash because of how much I love my brother. But it's going to be an emotional game, for sure.”

Jason Kelce was even ever-so-briefly a Chiefs fan Sunday night, pulling on a Kansas City sweatshirt for about the 3 hours between the end of the Eagles' 31-7 rout of San Francisco and the finish of his little brother's 23-20 win over Cincinnati.

“That's it for the rest of the year,” Jason said with a smile. “I am done being a Chiefs fan.”

While her husband, Ed, has mostly kept private over the years, Donna has been a fixture as she crisscrosses the country to watch her boys. During wild-card weekend last year, she started in Tampa Bay watching the Eagles against the Buccaneers, then hopped a plane to Kansas City in time to watch the Chiefs play the Steelers at night.

She's already seen both of her sons win Super Bowls, too: The Eagles beat the Patriots in 2018 in Minneapolis, and the Chiefs rallied to beat the 49ers in Miami two years later.

She hasn't seen much of them lately, though. The way the playoff schedule worked out for the divisional round and the conference championship games, it was impossible for Donna to make it to see both of her boys in person.

In any case, they've come a long way from their solidly middle-class upbringing in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Jason blazed the trail as as the star offensive lineman who earned a scholarship to Cincinnati, and Travis soon followed suit. Both caught the eyes of NFL scout during their college careers, and of one coach in particular: Andy Reid.

It was Big Red who, while coaching the Eagles, used a sixth-round pick on Jason during the 2011 draft. And two years later, after Reid had gotten a fresh start in Kansas City, the Chiefs used a third-rounder to bring Travis into the fold.

“Big brother probably protected Travis from doing some crazy things. He probably talked him from dropping off a ladder into raked-up leaves once or twice,” Reid said Monday. “Listen, they're both at heart very competitive and compassionate, is the biggest thing. They care and they care about people and they care about they're game.”

Jason has been to six Pro Bowls and was just voted an All-Pro for the fifth time, and he's emerged as one of the best offensive linemen in Eagles history. Travis has been to eight Pro Bowls, just made a fourth All-Pro team and is second in NFL history to Jerry Rice in playoff catches, yards and touchdowns.

Football's not the only thing they're good at, either.

The brothers have new a podcast called “New Heights with Jason &amp; Travis Kelce," which takes listeners on a riotous. real-time ride through the NFL season. The weekly shows are recorded on Tuesdays and last between 60 and 90 minutes, the two NFL stars playfully playing off each other as if they were hanging out in mom's basement.

Special guests have included Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Chiefs counterpart Patrick Mahomes.

“They have a good mesh there, and a good relationship,” Reid said. “I think Travis has grown up a lot. Jason probably came in a bit more mature — Travis was a little immature. But he's really grown into a good person.

“I have invested time in both of those two,” Reid added, “so I feel like a part of the family.”

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Royals and Zach Greinke have agreed to a contract for the coming season, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Monday, making it nine seasons over two stints in Kansas City for the six-time All-Star pitcher.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the 39-year-old Greinke still needed to pass a physical.

The financial terms of the deal, which was first reported by Kansas City sports radio host Bob Fescoe, were not immediately available. Greinke was paid $13 million last season by the Royals, where he spent the first seven season before returning last year and going 3-9 with a 3.68 ERA and striking out 73 over 137 innings for the rebuilding club.

Greinke did spend two stints on the injured list but allowed two runs or fewer in 17 of his 26 starts last season.

Perhaps most importantly, Greinke provided veteran leadership to one of baseball's younger rotations. Brady Singer, at just 26, flourished into the staff ace, while fellow 20-somethings Daniel Lynch and Kris Bubic also made progress.

Greinke, who will turn 40 in October, began his career in Kansas City as a mercurial first-round pick in the 2002 amateur draft. He nearly walked away from the game before making it to the big leagues two years later, beginning a 20-year career that included stints with the Brewers, Angels, Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Astros.

The 2009 Cy Young winner is first among active pitchers with 514 career starts and 3,247 innings pitched. Greinke is second to Justin Verlander with 223 wins, third in strikeouts (2,882) and has six Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger awards.

The Royals had been quiet much of the offseason but have been busy in the weeks leading up to spring training.

Just recently, they sent starting outfielder Michael A. Taylor to the Twins and injury-prone shortstop Adalberto Mondesi to the Red Sox, netting three pitching prospects in the deals. They also signed reliever Aroldis Chapman to a $3.75 million deal for 2023 in the hopes the seven-time All-Star can bounce back from a disappointing season with the Yankees.

Earlier in the offseason, the Royals signed pitchers Ryan Yarbrough and Jordan Lyles. Both of them are candidates for the starting rotation, though Yarbrough's value most likely will be found in the bullpen.

Harrison Butker made a 45-yard field goal with 3 seconds left — after Cincinnati's Joseph Ossai was flagged for a 15-yard penalty for shoving Mahomes after he was out of bounds — and&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/kansas-city-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-super-bowl-eagles-c1ba1c85681653627b2c212fe446065a">the Chiefs beat the Bengals 23-20 in the AFC championship game</a>&nbsp;to make it back to the Super Bowl.

Kansas City will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona.

The Eagles opened as a 1 1/2-point favorite,&nbsp;<a href="https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nfl">according to FanDuel Sportsbook</a>.

There are no shortage of storylines: Kansas City coach Andy Reid goes against his old team — which he led to Super Bowl 39 — in a game that's also the first matchup of&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/superbowl-black-quarterbacks-faceoff-1ac07534cd91fd06c70424ec3b1ce7cf">Black starting quarterbacks</a>&nbsp;in the Super Bowl with Mahomes and Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts.

On top of that, there's a brother-against-brother showdown between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Philadelphia center Jason Kelce.

“&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/JasonKelce/status/1619897181431017474">Officially done being a Chiefs fan this season!!</a>&nbsp;” Jason Kelce tweeted immediately after the Chiefs won.

The Chiefs have been making deep postseason runs on a regular basis ever since Mahomes came to town as the franchise quarterback.

This was their fifth straight trip to the AFC title game and will be their third Super Bowl appearance in that span. They beat the 49ers for the NFL title in the 2019 season, but lost to the Bucs the following season.

The Eagles&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/super-bowl-philadelphia-eagles-jalen-hurts-49ers-a70e71168278947812e5a96055d48a9b?utm_source=homepage&amp;utm_medium=TopNews&amp;utm_campaign=position_11">clobbered the Niners 31-7 in the NFC title game</a>&nbsp;earlier Sunday. They've looked dominant in the playoffs so far, also beating the New York Giants 38-7 in the divisional round.

Philadelphia is back in the Super Bowl five years after beating the New England Patriots 41-33 on Feb. 4, 2018.

Now a mostly new generation of Eagles — led by coach Nick Sirianni and Hurts — will come to Arizona to try and win another title.

The Chiefs-Bengals game looked as if it was going to overtime before Ossai's ill-advised play. Mahomes — who was playing on a badly sprained ankle — was running to get a first down in the final seconds as Ossai desperately tried to track him down.

Mahomes was out of bounds when Ossai gave him a shove, sending both players tumbling to the turf. The ensuing 15-yard penalty was enough to push Butker into field-goal range and the kick split the uprights.

A&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/kansas-city-chiefs-nfl-sports-joseph-ossai-bj-hill-f036825db43b0c2648b1ab285133a05c">distraught Ossai</a>&nbsp;sat on the bench with his head in his hands, well after the game was over.

The Bengals and Chiefs were playing for the fourth time in less than 400 days and Cincinnati had won the previous three meetings — all by three points. This one was decided by a field goal, too, and all Burrow could do was watch.

The Bengals lost to the Rams in last year's Super Bowl and they just missed another chance at returning to the title game.

Oddsmakers thought fans were in for some close conference championship games.

They'll have to settle for a 50% success rate.

The NFC title game was a blowout. Niners rookie quarterback Brock Purdy was injured in the first quarter when Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick drilled his right arm on a play that was ruled a fumble. The Eagles recovered that fumble and the injury proved to be a game-changer.

With Purdy hurt, San Francisco turned to 36-year-old journeyman Josh Johnson, who couldn't do much before eventually leaving with a concussion. Purdy came back into the game, but could barely throw, and the Eagles cruised to the win.

The 49ers dealt with quarterback injuries all season, losing Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo before turning to Purdy, a seventh-round draft pick out of Iowa State. Purdy stepped into a starter's role in December and won his first seven games before Sunday's injury.

Country music star Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem, while R&amp;B legend Babyface will perform “America the Beautiful.”

The Pro Bowl&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/nfl-sports-football-las-vegas-peyton-manning-be4b3060b1d077923f630a86fe554fe1">is getting a major makeover this year</a>&nbsp;after the NFL eliminated its full-contact all-star game and replaced it with weeklong skills competitions and a flag football game.

The flag football contest is Feb. 5 in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, one week before the Super Bowl.

The Pro Bowl debuted in January 1951 in Los Angeles and stayed there for 21 seasons before the game moved to different cities from 1972-80. Hawaii hosted from 1980-2009, and the game has had several homes in the years since, including Miami, Phoenix, Orlando and Las Vegas.

“The game was kind of silly, I guess,” Saints two-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Ryan Ramczyk said back in September when the news was announced. “Guys weren’t out there playing true football. NORTON - TMP-Marian freshman Yesica Ontiveros brought home a second
place finish at the Mid-Continent League tournament Friday in Norton.

Ontiveros was the only TMP wrestler, boys or girls, to medal
at the MCL tournament.

She opened the tournament with a second period fall over Hill
City’s Donicia Penrod.

Ontiveros picked up her second straight victory by a second
period fall in the second round over Hoxie’s Marta Paneque.

In the final match at 135 pounds Trego’s Cali Wgaoner earned
a fall in the third period fall over Ontiveros giving her the individual title
and Ontiveros a second place finish.

The Norton girls won the girls title. The Hoxie boys claimed
the MCL team title.

“I’ve watched them all year long, great quarterback, great entire team,” Mahomes said of the Eagles. "It’s going to be a great challenge for us, but I’m going to celebrate this one first.

"I don’t think we have any cigars, but we’ll be ready to go in the Super Bowl.”

Mahomes, who hurt his ankle against Jacksonville in the divisional round, threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns, even though he was missing three of his wide receivers to injuries by the end. Marquez Valdes-Scantling led the way with 116 yards and a touchdown, while Travis Kelce — bad back and all — had seven catches for 78 yards and a score.

Yet it was Mahomes on his balky right ankle, rather than with his strong right arm, that rescued the Chiefs.

“At some points in games, you’ve gotta just put it all on the line," Mahomes said. "The defense gave us a couple chances to get in field goal range, we didn’t get there. The defense got another stop for us and I knew I was going to get there somehow.

“So I just put it all on the line and we got in field goal range, and we’re at Arrowhead now and we’re in.”

The Chiefs got a crucial sack from Chris Jones to force a punt with 39 seconds left, and shaky return man Skyy Moore broke free for 29 yards on the return. On third-and-4 at the Bengals 47, Mahomes eluded pressure and scrambled toward the Bengals sideline, barely picking up the first down before Ossai gave him a shove from behind.

The penalty flags flew, the ball moved 15 yards closer and Butker’s kick barely had enough to get over the crossbar.

Joe Burrow, who was sacked five times and wobbly by the end, finished with 270 yards passing to go with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Bengals. Tee Higgins had six catches for 83 yards and the score.

The Chiefs were able to do early what the Buffalo Bills could not in last week’s divisional round: They ran roughshod over an ailing Bengals offensive line missing two starters to injury with another bothered by a sore knee.

Burrow was sacked three times in the first quarter alone and the Bengals offense did not gain a single yard.

Mahomes, whose ankle had been the subject of speculation all week, looked just fine leading Kansas City to a field goal on its opening possession. And when the Chiefs got the ball back, Mahomes did it again, but only after Kadarius Toney failed to pull in a nifty throw for a would-be touchdown — the incompletion was upheld upon review.

Cincinnati finally moved the ball in the second quarter, but it also had to settle for Evan McPherson’s chip-shot field goal.

So much for two of the league’s highest-scoring offenses.

The Chiefs finally reached the end zone late in the second quarter, moving briskly downfield behind a couple of nice grabs by Valdes-Scantling. The Bengals held on third-and-1 at their 14-yard line, but the Chiefs went for it and Mahomes hit Kelce loosely covered by Jessie Bates III for the touchdown.

The Bengals drove 90 yards in the closing minutes, but only added a field goal to get within 13-6 at the break.

Turns out their offense was just hitting its stride — and another classic was brewing.

After the Chiefs went three-and-out to start the second half, Burrow led the Bengals downfield, bolting through a yawning hole in the defense for a third-down conversion before hitting Higgins from 27 yards out to knot the game 13-all.

Mahomes, suddenly down three wide receivers to injuries and beginning to limp, gamely pressed on. He answered Burrow with a touchdown drive of his own, capped by a third-down throw to Valdes-Scantling to regain the lead.

The Chiefs had a chance to gain some breathing room later in the third quarter, but Mahomes somehow lost control of the ball before throwing a pass and the Bengals pounced on the fumble. Six players later — including an audacious fourth-down throw from Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase — Samaje Perine ran into the end zone to tie it at 20.

Burrow gave the Chiefs a chance when his deep throw to Higgins on third down was batted into the air and picked by rookie cornerback Josh Williams. Mahomes managed to move the Chiefs past midfield, but two runs went nowhere and his third-down throw to Jerick McKinnon was well short, forcing them to punt in Bengals territory.

The Chiefs defense held, though, giving Mahomes and their offense one more try.

The Chiefs got a second chance on third down early in the fourth quarter, when referee Ron Torbert said the game clock and play clock would begin on his whistle. Only problem was the play came after an incompletion, so the game clock should not have started.

The Bengals stopped the Chiefs, but Torbert ruled the play didn’t count because of the clock goof — and they wound up getting a first down on Eli Apple’s defensive holding penalty. Kansas City eventually punted anyway.

Bengals: WR Tyler Boyd left with a quad injury early in the second half.

Chiefs: Lost CB L’Jarius Sneed (concussion), LB Willie Gay Jr. (shoulder) and WRs Toney (ankle), Mecole Hardman (pelvis) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee).

The Chiefs are headed to their third Super Bowl in four seasons. They ended a 50-year championship drought when they rallied to beat the San Francisco 49ers in 2020, then lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the following year.

finished in the top two spots.

Tionna Napue is 23-3 on the season after claiming the championship at 115. Napue pinned her way through the tournament. She is ranked 4th in 6-5A.&nbsp;

Sarah Zimmerman finished runner up at 110 for
her first loss of the season. Zimmeran is ranked 3rd at the weight
class in 6-5A and lost to the top ranked wrestler who is now 17-0. Zimmmeran
is 22-1.&nbsp; 

Addison Otte, Lexi Barnett and Ava Ruiz placed 5th, each
losing just one match and Reese Vehige was 6th. Barnett's only loss was to the top ranked and undefeated wrestler in 6-5A. Ruiz's only loss was to a 26-3 wrestler from Vista Ridge, Colorado. Otte's only loss was to a 34-12 wrestler from Randall High School in Amarillo, Texas. Otte lost the match 2-0.

Lexi Burton finished 3rd. Her
only loss was a 3-1 decision in the semifinals to the 5th ranked wrestler in 6-5A from Dodge City. Burton beat the 6th ranked wrestler during the quarterfinals.

On the boys side Harley Zimmeran was runner-up at 132 pounds losing in the
finals on a 4-2 decision to Jaden Valdez from Randall High School out of Amarillo,
Texas. Zimmerman is now 24-2 on the season.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Jalen Wilson scored 22 points, including one in a series of huge 3-pointers down the stretch, and No. 9 Kansas held off Kentucky 77-68 Saturday night in an SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

The Jayhawks (17-4) seized the lead for good midway through the first half before withstanding every Wildcats challenge in this tense marquee matchup of college basketball blue bloods. Gradey Dick and Wilson provided two of their biggest shots with consecutive 3-pointers for two-possession edges, with Wilson's 3 making it 70-64 with 4:13 remaining.

Oscar Tshiebwe made two free throws to get Kentucky within four, but Kevin McCullar Jr. sank another 3 for a 73-66 advantage. Wilson then answered Jacob Toppin's jumper with one of his own to make it 75-68 with 1:52 left. Kansas, which won the national championship last season, avoided its first four-game losing streak under coach Bill Self.

Tshiebwe had 18 points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Toppin and Cason Wallace each added 14 for Kentucky (14-7), which had won its previous four.

Wilson made 9 of 18 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds for Kansas, which finished even with Kentucky at 49% shooting. K.J. Adams Jr. added 17 points, Dick had 13 and McCullar 11 with 12 rebounds as the Jayhawks edged Kentucky 34-29 on the glass.

Kansas got back on track with an important win that will keep the Jayhawks in the Top 10.

Kansas: The Jayhawks were outshot by Kentucky much of the night but consistently made crucial baskets and big defensive plays to keep an edge. It was just what they needed after their slide amid a seven-game Big 12 gauntlet featuring five ranked teams.

Kentucky: Poor first-half free throw shooting dug another hole that the Wildcats managed to overcome. They get close, but couldn't get even, and finishing 16 of 23 from the line ultimately hurt them.

Kansas hosts No. 5 Kansas State on Tuesday, seeking to avenge its 83-82 overtime loss on Jan. 17.

Kentucky visits Mississippi on Tuesday night in search of its fifth consecutive SEC win.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Keyontae Johnson gathered with a few of his old Florida teammates after leading No. 5 Kansas State to a 64-50 win over the Gators on Saturday night, the group smiling for some cameras for a picture he'll no doubt cherish.

Not only because of what Johnson had been through but how the Wildcats had performed.

Johnson had 13 points and 11 rebounds in a sentimental matchup with the Gators, while Markquis Nowell flirted with the first triple-double in Kanas State history, helping the Wildcats to a dominant 64-50 victory in the Big 12-SEC Challenge.

Johnson struggled mightily from the field, going just 5 of 16 and even getting stuffed by the front of the rim during a windmill dunk on a second-half fast break. But it was nevertheless a special night for the senior forward, who collapsed on the Gators’ sideline during a game against Florida State just over two years ago.

Johnson spent 10 days in the hospital and never played another meaningful minute for Florida, whose medical staff would not clear him. He wound up at Kansas State, where doctors gave his heart the green light, and he has emerged as the Big 12′s third-leading scorer and rebounder while helping the Wildcats to their highest ranking in more than a decade.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime memory. You’ll never get that moment back,” he said. “Just trying to embrace that moment.”

Wildcats coach Jerome Tang spoke to Johnson throughout the week about what was undoubtedly an emotional night.

“It was really cool. As a fan, I wanted to see him have a good game. I wanted him to get the win. I think the team wanted him to get the win,” Tang said. “We knew it was important to him, even though he didn't make a big deal of it.”
