NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Grant Sherfield scored 22 points and Oklahoma went on a 12-0 run early in the second half on their way to a 79-65 win over No. 12 Kansas State on Tuesday night.

The win snapped a seven-game Big 12 conference losing streak for the Sooners (13-13, 3-10 Big 12) and prevented the Wildcats (19-7, 7-6) and first-year coach Jerome Tang from earning their 20th win of the year.

Sherfield leads Oklahoma in scoring and assists on the season, but coach Porter Moser felt he took them to a different level in this game.

“I thought Grant had his best floor game since he’s worn a Sooner uniform,” said Moser. “The ball went where it needed to go. He had six assists and had a bunch of other (passes) that led to fouls. He was just so locked in. He had eight rebounds. Best overall communication game that he’s had.”

Tanner Groves scored 16 while freshman Milos Uzan added 13 for Oklahoma. Nae’quan Tomlin had 17 points — 13 of them in the first half — and 10 rebounds to pace Kansas State.

Sherfield’s 3-pointer in the final 10 seconds of the opening half sent the teams into intermission tied at 36.

The Wildcats got the first basket of the second half, and then the Sooners scored 12 straight to move to a 48-38 lead early in the second half, spurred by threes from Sherfield, Groves and Uzan. Oklahoma shot 11-for-23 (47.8%) and went on to lead by as many as 16. Kansas State got no closer than eight the rest of the way.

It was the Wildcats second straight conference loss and both were to teams at the bottom of the Big 12 standings. Coach Tang hopes this is a wake up call for his team, who he says is less than a lock for NCAA tournament play.

”(Oklahoma) kicked our butts and they deserve all the credit in the world for that. We did not play hard enough to deserve to win tonight,” said Tang. “We have to win at least two more games to get to the NCAA tournament. That was my message to them that we gotta figure this thing out.”

It was Oklahoma’s first conference win in a month, since a one-point win at home over West Virginia. With the loss, Kansas State fell into a fifth place tie with Oklahoma State in the Big 12 race.

Kansas State - Tang was trying to become just the fourth Wildcats coach to win 20 games in his first season, joining Lon Krueger, Bob Huggins and Frank Martin. He is currently still tied for the winningest first year head coach this season with Sean Miller of Xavier and Dennis Gates of Missouri.

Oklahoma - The Sooners shot 14% better from three than their season average. The Sooners avoided their eighth straight conference loss, which last occurred in the 2011-12 season.

Kansas State - Host No. 19 Iowa State on Saturday.

Oklahoma - Visits No. 6 Texas on Saturday.

🏀 Sherfield helps Oklahoma beat No. 12 Kansas State

GREAT BEND – The TMP-Marian Monarchs girls held Great Bend
to a season-low in points and the TMP boys used another solid fourth quarter on
their way to a Valentine’s Day doubleheader sweep of Great Bend Tuesday.

GIRLS: TMP 45, Great Bend 29 The TMP Lady Monarchs held Great Bend to a season-low 29
points and outscored the Panthers 22-6 over the final 13 minutes on their way
to a 45-29 victory.

Great Bend built an early 9-5 lead thanks to eight first
quarter points from Sadie Spray.

In the second quarter, the Panthers (7-10) had their largest lead
at 13-8 but TMP (12-7) answered with a 10-0 run to take a 19-13 lead. 

Claire Schippers started the run, Hannah Garcia added a
three-pointer and then Brooke Koenigsman scored the next six for TMP. 

Great Bend briefly cut the Monarchs lead to two but Jaci VonLintel
put TMP up 21-17 on a steal and layup with just under one minute to play in the
first half.

Great Bend was able to tie the game at 23 with just over
five minutes left in the third quarter.

With the game tied at 23 the Monarchs ended the third
quarter on a 13-2 run for a 36-25 third quarter lead.

Teagan Gottschalk scored four points during the run for the
Monarchs.

In the final frame TMP gave up back-to-back field goals to
start the quarter but then held Great Bend scoreless over the final three
minutes over the game while going on a 9-0 for a 45-29 victory.

Brooke Koenigsman led TMP with 18 points. 

&nbsp;BOYS: TMP 61, Great
Bend 60 TMP’s Dylan Werth capped off another solid performance Tuesday
night with a free throw with .8 second left lifting TMP to a 61-60 win, their 14th in-a-row.

The Monarchs (16-2) jumped out to an early 6-2 lead only to see
Great Bend finished the first quarter with an 8-2 run for a 10-8 lead.

TMP was able to tie the game at 10 on a Werth field goal to
start the second quarter but Great Bend answered right back with a 10-6 run.

Down the stretch there were two ties down the stretch before
TMP took a 24-23 lead on a pair of Joey Mindrup free throws. But the lead was short-lived.
The Panthers (9-8) outscored TMP 7-3 to end the first half for a 30-27 lead.

Great Bend maintained a lead throughout the majority of the
third quarter before Griffin Schumacher tied the game at 45 with a free throw
with just 26 seconds left. But a foul with no time left put Carter Coombs on
the line with no time left and he made one-of-two putting Great Bend up 46-45
after three quarters.

The Panthers led by four to open the fourth quarter but TMP
outscored Great Gend 14-9 over the final six minutes for a 61-60 victory.

The game was tied at 60 Dylan Werth was fouled with just .8
second left going for a rebound. With TMP in the bonus Werth made the first one
for a 61-60 lead. Werth intentionally missed the second but missed the rim
giving Great Bend a chance for one more play. But the Panthers inbound pass went
off the glass and TMP came away with it for the one-point win.

Dylan Werth led all scorers for TMP with 23 points. Luke
Rome added 11.

🏀 Monarchs take two from Great Bend

ABILENE - Hays High headed out on the road Tuesday to face the Abilene Cowgirls and Cowboys.

Girls: Hays 52, Abilene 23 Hays closed the second quarter on an 18-0 run on their way to a&nbsp; 52-23 win over Abilene.

The Indians scored the first six points and never trailed against the Cowgirls. Abilene did get within one point at 10-9 but never any closer.

The Cowgirls scored the first two points of the second quarter for a 13-11 game. They wouldn't score again in the half. Hays scored the next 18 points which concluded with a 31-11 lead for the Indians at halftime.

Hays outscored Abilene in all four quarters on their way to a 52-23 victory that snapped a three game skid.

Molly Martin scored a game high 15. Katie Linenberger added 11 points and Carly Lang chipped in 10 points and grabbed a game high nine rebounds. Abilene was led by Claira Dannefer at 12 points.

The Indians improve to 10-7. Abilene has lost six in a row and is 2-15.

Boys: Hays 60, Abilene 44 The Abilene Cowboys fell out of the 4A rankings earlier in the day after spending much of the season ranked.

The two teams were tied twice and traded the lead six times in the first six minutes of the game. Hays took the lead at 13-11 on what proved to be the final lead change of the game on their way to a 60-44 victory.

Hays led 20-17 before grabbing their first double digit lead on an 8-0 run. Abilene fought back to a seven point game when Edwin Muller beat the halftime clock with a three pointer from over 25 feet away.

Hays opened the second half with an 8-0 run for a game high 18 point lead at 41-23. The Cowboys mounted a comeback with the next 12 points and got within six at 41-35. Abilene had the ball down six but missed a three pointer and Hays got a runout layup.

The Indians led 45-37 going to the fourth and never led by less than that margin rest of the way, winning 60-44.

Keamonie Archie established career highs with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Chason VanDerWege tied a career 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the year.&nbsp;

Hays improves to 10-7 while Abilene drops to 9-9.

Hays travels to Garden City on Friday to resume Western Athletic Conference play.

Season tickets for Salina Liberty indoor football on sale now

The TMP-Marian boys continue to hold down the No. 2 spots in Class 2A in the weekly Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings out Tuesday afternoon.&nbsp; Previous No. 1 Wichita Independent slipped to fourth. They are replaced at the top by Lyndon who jumped from fourth to first. Ellinwood dropped from third to fifth.

Three Mid-Continent girls teams remain ranked. Phillipsburg is No. 2 in 3A, Smith Center fifth and Hoxie seventh in 2A, all unchanged from a week ago.

The Osborne girls remain second and Quinter fifth in 1A Division I.&nbsp;

The Osborne boys are eighth in 1A Division I. Northern Valley is second and Pawnee Heights is ranked fifth in 1A Division II.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Super Bowl had something for everyone.

Long before Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the biggest winner of this NFL season walked onto the field. Damar Hamlin came out to a rousing ovation during a pregame ceremony honoring the men and women who saved his life.

Hamlin’s third appearance of the week was the best feel-good moment on a day filled with many inspirational themes.

Mahomes and Jalen Hurts put on a historic show in the first Super Bowl featuring two Black starting quarterbacks. Hurts was spectacular but Mahomes played through an ankle injury and rallied the Chiefs from a 10-point deficit for a 38-35 comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

It was yet another lesson on dealing with adversity and rising to the occasion playing out before hundreds of millions of viewers on the sport’s biggest stage.

“I appreciate it because of the failures,” Mahomes said about winning his second championship in four years. “I mean the failure of losing a Super Bowl and losing the AFC championship game gives you a greater appreciation to be standing here as a champion."

Brotherhood was on display in the first Super Bowl matchup involving two brothers playing on different teams. Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce caught a touchdown pass to help his team topple All-Pro center Jason Kelce and the Eagles. Mama Kelce was everywhere throughout the week and sat between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Hamlin in a suite.

“There’s nothing I can say to him other than I love him and he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season,” Travis Kelce said. “To see my family be in all its glory and get all its flowers, my mom be the center of attention on the Jumbotron before the game on the biggest stage and being able to get closer with my brother throughout the season and to meet him at the mountain top, it’s the best feeling in the world. I don’t know how many more I got left, but I’ll cherish this one forever.”

Donna Kelce was the most popular mother in Arizona until Rihanna showed up for a scintillating halftime show. The superstar singer kicked off and finished her superb performance soaring high above the slippery field surface on a platform that was suspended in the air.

And, she did it while pregnant. Rihanna’s representative confirmed afterward that she’s pregnant with her second child.

“So iconic for Rihanna to let an American football game happen at her pregnancy reveal/concert,” a fan wrote on Twitter.

Even the commercials had a warm, fuzzy vibe. Advertisers used familiar celebrity faces, light humor and plenty of cute dogs in ads that cost as much as $7 million for 30 seconds.

About the only negative on Super Sunday was a controversial penalty on the final drive of the game that left viewers feeling angry that officiating again impacted a playoff game. A defensive holding call on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry allowed Kansas City to keep the ball, run down the clock and Harrison Butker kicked the go-ahead 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds left.

But Bradberry quickly squashed the outrage, saying he held the receiver.

“It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide,” Bradberry said.

On a day filled with unifying events, Bradberry’s acknowledgement was a prime example of losing with dignity.

Analysis: Super Bowl had feel-good vibes for all

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes was magical when the Kansas City Chiefs desperately needed him to pull off another Super Bowl comeback.

Playing on an injured ankle, Mahomes threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and scrambled 26 yards on the go-ahead drive before Harrison Butker kicked a 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds left to give the Chiefs a 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

The Chiefs won their second NFL title in four years and&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/NFL-awards-MVP-offensive-defensive-player-of-the-year-5fd0f54c6dda88fbe9e3c9832474feb9">two-time NFL MVP</a>&nbsp;Mahomes earned his second Super Bowl MVP award.

“I thought guys just embraced the moment,” Mahomes said about rallying from a 10-point halftime deficit. “In that first half, we were playing and doing some good stuff, but I felt like the guys were getting consumed by everything around us.”

Mahomes and Jalen Hurts excelled in the first Super Bowl matchup featuring&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/philadelphia-eagles-cincinnati-bengals-nfl-super-bowl-sports-86a9932fab18e53ddae15a962989a010">two Black starting QBs</a>. But Mahomes turned it up in the second half after reaggravating a sprained right ankle.

“It took everybody to win the game,” Mahomes shouted as red and yellow confetti littered the field.

Coach Andy Reid, who couldn’t win the big game in Philadelphia, beat his former team to earn his second ring with Mahomes and the Chiefs.

“We wanted to get this so bad for him,” Travis Kelce said. “His legacy in Philly lives on forever. ... There’s a lot of pride in knowing that he’s had success in two different organizations, but this was the better one.”

With the score tied at 35-35, the Eagles tried to let the Chiefs score a touchdown with under two minutes left so they could get the ball back after a defensive holding call on cornerback James Bradberry on third-and-8 gave Kansas City a first down. But Jerick McKinnon slid at the 2, forcing the Eagles to use their last timeout.

“It was holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide,” Bradberry said.

After Mahomes took a knee twice, Butker nailed his kick, sending thousands of red-clad Chiefs fans into a frenzy.

“It feels amazing just to see the confetti,” said Butker, who missed a 42-yarder in the first quarter. “I just tried to focus on one kick and focusing on the process.”

The Chiefs won their second Super Bowl following the 2019 season, 50 years after the first one. Mahomes led them back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter against San Francisco in that one. It took just three years to get another Lombardi.

Chiefs fans were outnumbered in the stadium, but did their part to silence the boisterous Philly fans with the tomahawk chop chant.

Down 24-14 with a limping Mahomes, the Chiefs (17-3) followed up Rihanna’s electrifying halftime performance with a sensational offensive outburst.

Mahomes, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the divisional round, hurt it again on a 3-yard scramble late in the second quarter. He limped off the field but showed no ill effects on Kansas City’s next possession.

“I knew it was pretty bad when he got up limping but I knew it wasn’t gonna be bad enough to where he was gonna pull himself off the field,” Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said. “If we would’ve pulled him off, I would’ve had to fight him. He would’ve probably fought me. And so it wasn’t worth entertaining.”

Mahomes slipped —&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/super-bowl-slippery-field-159cd91cc0d1a0d5b234df1904d05999">several players lost their footing on the natural grass surface</a>&nbsp;— in the pocket yet somehow regained his balance and scrambled 14 yards to the Eagles 4, setting up Isiah Pacheco’s 1-yard TD run that cut the deficit to 24-21.

Mahomes then tossed a 5-yard TD pass to a wide-open Kadarius Toney to give Kansas City its first lead, 28-27, early in the fourth quarter.

After the Chiefs tightened up their defense, forcing Philly to punt, Toney returned a line-drive kick 65 yards to the Eagles 5 for the longest punt return in Super Bowl history.

On third down from the 4, Mahomes connected with Skyy Moore to extend their lead to 35-27. Moore also was wide open on the play.

Hurts hit DeVonta Smith for a 45-yard gain to the Chiefs 2 and ran in for his third score of the game. He also ran in for the 2-point conversion to tie it at 35-35 with 5:15 to go.

As “Fly! Eagles! Fly!” reverberated throughout the stadium, Mahomes and the Chiefs went back to work.

The 27-year-old Mahomes became the third player to win his second NFL MVP award before age 28. He also became the youngest QB to start three Super Bowls. Mahomes finally broke the MVP curse, becoming the first player to win the Super Bowl the same season after nine straight players lost.

Just five years after winning the first Super Bowl in franchise history, the Eagles (16-4) came close with a different coach and new quarterback. Nick Sirianni replaced Doug Pederson in 2021 and Hurts took over for Carson Wentz in late 2020.

But Hurts also made a rare mistake when he fumbled without being hit while scrambling away from pressure. Nick Bolton picked it up and raced 36 yards for a score that made it 14-14. Hurts had just eight turnovers this season, six picks and two fumbles.

Mahomes finished 21 of 27 for 182 yards with three TDs and no turnovers. He ran for 44 yards.

Mahomes connected with Kelce on an 18-yard TD pass in the right corner to tie it at 7-7 in the first quarter. The Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end and Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce became the first set of brothers to play against each other in the Super Bowl.

Their mom, Donna Kelce, wore a half-red, half-green jersey with No. 87 on the front for Travis and No. 62 on the back for Jason. She sat in a suite between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Damar Hamlin.

Eagles fans turned State Farm Stadium into a sea of green, chanting “E-A-G-L-E-S!” and singing the team’s fight song after each score. But they left disappointed.

Reid won more games than any coach in team history during 14 seasons with the Eagles but the one knock against him was that he couldn’t win the big one. Reid finally earned his ring in his seventh season with the Chiefs. They went back the next year and lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Reid, who turns 65 next month, ended any speculation about his potential retirement.

“If they’ll have me, I’ll stick around,” he said.

The first Super Bowl involving both No. 1 seeds since the Eagles beat the Patriots 41-33 in February 2018 lived up to its hype. It was the third-highest scoring Super Bowl and the Eagles scored the most points by a losing team.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have two assistants on their coaching staff that have been head coaches in the NFL, and another one that has been interviewed — and passed over — for top jobs too many times to count.

That's some pretty good brainpower helping out Chiefs coach Andy Reid when they play the Philadelphia Eagles, led by Nick Sirianni and their talented but undeniably young coaching staff, in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

“I will tell you, I've been fortunate to have great coaches," said Reid, whose staffs over the years have included Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Commanders coach Ron Rivera, Jaguars coach Doug Pederson and Bills coach Sean McDermott.

And plenty of other coaches — Todd Bowles, Pat Shurmur, Leslie Frazier — that also have been NFL head coaches.

“Assistants work their tails off,” Reid said, “and normally if you have good coaches and good players, that's a combination for success. Mentors, I've had a bunch of them. I was lucky to have great coaches and then all the way through college.”

Perhaps that is why Reid invests himself so much in helping his own assistants climb the coaching ladder.

And why, when they fall as all coaches eventually do, they often return to his side.

That was the case with Matt Nagy and Steve Spagnuolo.

Nagy got his start in the NFL as Reid's coaching intern during his days in Philadelphia, then followed Big Red to Kansas City in 2013. He began there as the quarterbacks coach, rose to offensive coordinator when Pederson departed for his own head coaching job, then took the top job with the Bears a couple of years later.

Nagy went to the playoffs twice in four years before he was fired. Now, he's back in KC as the quarterbacks coach.

“Listen, I think he's a great coach,” Reid said. “I think he knows people, handles people well. He's a good teacher. The players respond to his approach. And he had a relationship with Pat Mahomes, and so it was just a natural fit for him to come back here.

"It was just a matter of, (if) he wanted to sit out a year or get back into it as an assistant coach, and so he did. He wanted to jump back in and go. And we're sure glad to get him.”

Spagnuolo likewise got his NFL start with Reid in Philadelphia before a coaching odyssey that took him to the head job with the Rams and an interim stint coaching the Giants. But the defensive guru was passed over for the full-time job in New York, he landed back with Reid, who in 2019 needed someone to revamp his defense.

With his unconventional, blitzing and aggressive approach, Spagnuolo has done precisely that in Kansas City.

“Steve's very creative. Very smart. A tribute to Springfield College, right?" said Reid, referring to the small Division III school where Spagnuolo played wide receiver. “He's been in the league and had a great tutor in Jim Johnson when he was young, and he's been able to build off that scheme and been very innovative with it.”

Then there's Eric Bieniemy, the would-be head coach, who helps Reid orchestrate the Chiefs' high-flying offense.

During his five seasons as offensive coordinator, the Chiefs have never finished worse than fifth in total offense. They've been to every AFC title game played during that stretch, won three conference championships and have a chance to bring home a second Lombardi Trophy, all while Mahomes celebrates winning his second MVP award.

Bieniemy is still in the running for the job in Indianapolis, a search that has been put on hold until after the Super Bowl.

"I knew what a great coach Eric was and thought he would get an opportunity. I’ve continued to think that," said Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt, who next to Reid is perhaps Bieniemy's biggest champion. "At this point, he’s maybe been through too many hiring cycles and it’s almost become a little bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy that he’s not getting the opportunity.”

Some critics say the Chiefs offense has been so successful because of Reid, one of the league's brilliant minds, and that Bieniemy needs to go elsewhere and escape his shadow.

To that extent, his name has been linked to offensive coordinator openings with the Commanders and Ravens.

“I know he’s still interested and he would do a fantastic job (as a head coach)," Hunt said. “And I’m glad he’s going to have the stage that he’ll have on Sunday to once again show what a tremendous offensive coordinator he is.”

🏈 Chiefs brain trust remains big reason for Super Bowl success

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Texas Tech found itself in yet another another tight conference game. This time the Red Raiders were able to pull out the victory.

De’Vion Harmon scored 20 points, including a crucial driving basket in the final minute, as Texas Tech upended No. 12-ranked Kansas State 71-63 on Saturday night.

This time the Red Raiders were able to pull out the victory.De’Vion Harmon scored 20 points, including a crucial driving basket in the final minute, as Texas Tech upended No. 12-ranked Kansas State 71-63 on Saturday night.“I missed like my first six shots,” Harmon said. “But the coaches and my teammates had confidence in me and told me to continue being aggressive. It was a good team win.”Victories have been elusive for the Red Raiders since the start of conference play. Tech has been in most of its league games, but has fallen short down the stretch with the latest example coming Wednesday on the road against Oklahoma State as Tech gave up a three-point play as time expired and lost 71-68.It was a different story against the Wildcats, though. Tech took the lead in the final minutes of the first half and never relinquished it, despite Kansas State pulling within one point on four occasions and two points two other times during the final 10 minutes.“I think that speaks volumes for this team,” Tech head coach Mark Adams said. “We’ve been in this situation many, many times. We know we want to win, but we haven’t been able to. We just kept encouraging these guys to stay aggressive, make plays and have no regrets.”The Red Raiders (13-12, 2-10 Big 12) held the Wildcats to two field goals in the game’s final four minutes as they extended a 62-61 lead at the 2:15 mark.Jaylon Tyson added another huge basket for Tech with a tip-in that pushed the advantage to 64-61, setting the stage for Harmon’s slashing drive between defenders as the Red Raiders rebounded from a last-second road loss to Oklahoma State.Kevin Obanor added four free throws in the final 37 seconds and Harmon converted one of two as Tech held off the Wildcats, who got only a pair of free throws and layup from Markquis Nowell in the final two plus minutes.“I was disappointed that we gave the ball away as many times as we did,” Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang said of his team’s 23-turnover night. “Texas Tech gets credit for that, but it’s also us not being tough enough.”Kansas State (19-6, 7-5) edged as close as one point throughout the second half, but Tech answered with key baskets to maintain the lead. The Wildcats were led by Nowell’s 18 points. Desi Sills added 12 points.The Red Raider defense limited Kansas State guard Keyontae Johnson, who had been averaging 18 points per game, to just nine points.“He picked a bad night to have a bad night,” Tang said.Lamar Washington added 13 points for Texas Tech while Tyson and Obanor contributed 11 and 10, respectively.The Red Raiders took control in the final moments of the first half, outscoring the Wildcats 10-1 in the final moments and turning a 25-23 deficit into a 33-26 advantage. Harmon sparked the flurry, scoring seven of his nine first-half points.Kansas State had claimed the 25-23 lead on a layup by Sills, but Tech responded quickly as Harmon converted a 3-pointer, a driving basket and a shot from the corner, and Jaylon Tyson added a 3-pointer.BIG PICTURE:Kansas State struggled from the field throughout the game. The Wildcats converted just under 35 percent of their shots in the first half, including 3 of 12 from 3-point range. The woes continued after intermission with the Wildcats finishing 19 of 54 overall (35.2 percent) and 6 of 26 from beyond the 3-point arc. Between the turnovers and the cold shooting night, the Wildcats were unable to overcome the Red Raiders.Texas Tech knocked off its second nationally ranked opponent on its home floor with its most complete effort this season against a Big 12 foe. The Raiders took the lead late in the first half, forcing 14 Wildcat turnovers, and led the rest of the way. Overall, the Tech defense harassed Kansas State into 23 turnovers, leading to a handful of transition baskets and keeping Tech in front.UP NEXT:Kansas State is back on the road at 8 p.m. Tuesday against Oklahoma.Texas Tech will host its second consecutive nationally ranked foe, battling No. 5 Texas on Monday.
