HONOLULU (AP) —&nbsp;Kevin McCullar Jr. recorded the program’s first back-to-back triple-double performance and Hunter Dickinson had 31 points and 11 rebounds as No. 1 Kansas beat Chaminade 83-56 in the first-round game of the Maui Invitational on Monday.

The Jayhawks (4-0) led throughout and shot a blistering 60.0 percent from the field. They held the Silverswords (1-3) to 33.9 percent shooting.

Chaminade, a Division II school in Honolulu with an enrollment of 2,342 students, was unable to muster an upset against the nation’s top-ranked team, as it did nearly 41 years ago against Ralph Sampson-led Virginia.

Dickinson, a 7-foot-2 Michigan transfer and AP Preseason All-American, made 15 of his 18 shots from the field. Kevin McCullar Jr. had 22 points and 11 rebounds with 10 assists, three steals and two blocks. Dajuan Harris Jr. added seven points, eight assists and four rebounds.

Dickinson, the preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, was coming off of a 27-point, 21-rebound game in a 89-84 win over No. 17 Kentucky a week ago.

It was McCullar’s second triple-double in as many games. The graduate senior guard had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against the Wildcats.

“It’s a blessing. Super fun out there today. Credit to my teammates for helping me out and getting assists and boxing out and things like that, so it’s a collective unit effort,” McCullar said.

Jamir Thomas, Ross Reeves and Wyatt Lowell scored 12 points apiece for Chaminade.

Kansas scored 58 points in the paint compared to 22 for Chaminade, and also had the edge in fast-break points, 27-6.

As expected, Kansas showcased its talent-rich roster against an overmatched Chaminade team, but it did not come without some adversity. It held a 21-9 lead about midway through the first half, but saw the Silverswords go on a 9-2 run over the next four-plus minutes to cut it to 25-20 at the 6:22 mark. That led Kansas coach Bill Self to call a timeout. His team responded with a 14-5 run.

Chaminade has won eight games all-time in the Maui Invitational, with its last win coming against Cal, 96-72, in 2017.

Kansas: Advances to the tournament semifinals Tuesday to face either UCLA or No. 4 Marquette.

Chaminade: Will play either the Bruins or Golden Eagles in a consolation game Tuesday.

Emma Ruddle opened the scoring with a 3-pointer before adding four early points at the free-throw line, scoring seven of FHSU's first 14 points. The Tigers led by as many as nine after Ruddle's second trip to the line, 14-5, before the Roadrunners scored the final four points in the quarter to close within five, 16-11.

MSU Denver clawed within one possession twice in the second quarter, but Fort Hays State bounced back on the next trip down the floor on each occasion. The home team scored first in the period to close within three before Sydney Golladay&nbsp;hit a jumper to push the lead back to five. Ashlyn Yow later scored five points in 36 seconds for the Roadrunners, helping MSU Denver pull within two, 20-18. Jessie Sallach&nbsp;drew a foul on a drive to the basket before hitting two free throws to extend the lead to multiple possessions, where it would remain for the rest of the afternoon.

Sallach's free throws triggered a 12-2 Tiger run over the final five-plus minutes of the second quarter, helping FHSU lead by 12 at the break, 32-20.Back-to-back 3-pointers from Katie Wagner and&nbsp;Ruddle to open the second half quickly ballooned the lead to 18 points, 38-20. Kate Dilssaver&nbsp;and Megan Earney&nbsp;&nbsp;both added triples in the third period, pushing the Tiger lead as high as 25 before FHSU led by 24 heading into the final frame, 53-29.

A 6-0 Tiger run midway through the fourth quarter gave the Tigers their largest lead of the game at 26, 64-38, before MSU Denver scored the final seven points to trim the final margin to 19.

Fort Hays State turned the ball over a season-low seven times while forcing 19 MSU Denver turnovers thanks to 10 steals. The Tigers shot 35.5 percent from the floor (22-of-62) and buried seven 3-pointers. After hitting their first 12 free throws, the Tigers finished 13-for-16 from the line (81.3 percent).<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/olivia-hollenbeck/7525">Olivia Hollenbeck</a>&nbsp;racked up a team-high 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting while blocking three shots on the day. The TMP-Marian Monarchs landed eight players on the 2023 MCL
All-League football team released Monday by the league.

Of the eight players the Monarchs earned 13 spots on the
all-league teams.

Griffin Schumacher was a first-team selection at running
back and linebacker. He was also a second-team selection as a returner on
special teams.

Despite missing nearly two full games, Schumacher rushed for
853 yards and 13 touchdown. 

Joining Schumacher on the first-team offense was offensive
lineman Kendall Walker. Walker is a two-time first-team selection on the
offensive line.

Kolten Hagans earned his second all-league selection, being
named to the second team. He was joined on the second team by wide receiver
Adler Brown.

Evan Balthazor was an honorable mention selection.

Balthazor and Walker were both named to the first-team
defensive on the line. Walker is a two-time all MCL selection on defense.

Balthazor led the Monarchs with four sacks. Walker finished
with 3.5 sacks. 

TMP landed a pair of linebackers on the all-league team.

🏈 TMP lands eight on the All-MCL team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association’s CEO Council has approved a request from Northeastern State University to temporarily pause its MIAA football membership to compete as an NCAA Division II independent.

Last week, the MIAA approved Northeastern State University’s request to compete in the sport of football as an independent NCAA Division II football institution. Northeastern State will remain committed to MIAA membership in the nine remaining Division II teams the University sponsors.

The decision and approval give NSU a greater chance to gain success and rebuild its football program to MIAA standards. It also allows MIAA football programs to strengthen their schedules to better position themselves for postseason play.

Northeastern State will begin competing as an NCAA Division II independent in football in the 2024 season.

With the 2024 MIAA football schedule already released last spring, NSU will play their 2024 football season as a non-conference opponent for all MIAA schools. With NSU’s agreement and approval from the MIAA, football playing institutions will have the option to find other non-conference opponents the week they are scheduled to play the RiverHawks next fall.

The MIAA will soon approve schedules for the 2025 and 2026 seasons that will not include NSU.  

Following the 2025 season, NSU and the MIAA CEO Council will reassess the state of NSU's football program to determine its status for the 2027 and 2028 football seasons.

The MIAAKANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association’s CEO Council has approved a request from Northeastern State University to temporarily pause its MIAA football membership to compete as an NCAA Division II independent.Last week, the MIAA approved Northeastern State University’s request to compete in the sport of football as an independent NCAA Division II football institution. Northeastern State will remain committed to MIAA membership in the nine remaining Division II teams the University sponsors.The decision and approval give NSU a greater chance to gain success and rebuild its football program to MIAA standards. It also allows MIAA football programs to strengthen their schedules to better position themselves for postseason play.Northeastern State will begin competing as an NCAA Division II independent in football in the 2024 season.With the 2024 MIAA football schedule already released last spring, NSU will play their 2024 football season as a non-conference opponent for all MIAA schools. With NSU’s agreement and approval from the MIAA, football playing institutions will have the option to find other non-conference opponents the week they are scheduled to play the RiverHawks next fall.The MIAA will soon approve schedules for the 2025 and 2026 seasons that will not include NSU. Following the 2025 season, NSU and the MIAA CEO Council will reassess the state of NSU's football program to determine its status for the 2027 and 2028 football seasons.

🏈 MIAA approves Northeastern State's request to play as an Independent

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Fort Hays State women's basketball team improved to 3-0 overall after defeating Colorado Mesa 65-62 on Sunday (Nov. 19). The win for the Tigers was highlighted by a 24-point, 10 rebound double-double from Katie Wagner. Three other Tigers also finished in double figures to help secure the victory.

The Mavericks came out strong on Sunday with two 3-pointers in the first 1:17 of the game. Fort Hays State found themselves in a hole, trailing 15-6 at the first timeout. The Tigers outscored Mesa 8-4 to close the first quarter, shrinking the gap to five points at 19-14. Olivia Hollenbeck&nbsp;led the scoring attack in the opening period with six points off two layups and two free throws.

Katie Wagner&nbsp;came alive in the second quarter with two quick buckets. The Tigers continued to pound the ball inside and were able to tie the game at 22-22 with 6:12 left to go in the second.

Colorado Mesa shot it at a 44.4 percent clip (4-of-9) from behind the 3-point line in the first half making it hard for FHSU to grab a lead, but the Tigers finally did with 3:41 to go in the half. From there, the lead was stretch to five for FHSU after five-straight points from Jessie Sallach. Both teams would exchange jabs to end the first half, but the Tigers went into the break with a 31-28 lead.

FHSU scored its most points on the day in the third quarter (22). The offense posted a 64.3 field percentage (9-of-14) in that frame, including seven points from Wagner and six from Sydney Golladay.

Down the stretch in the final quarter Emma Ruddle&nbsp;hit a shot to stretch the Tiger lead to eight, 62-54, but CMU would score six unanswered to increase the tension. After a few missed free throws and multiple defensive stands, there was a just a total of five points scored in the final 2:45.Despite shooting 9-of-15 from the free throw line as a team, Ellie Stearns&nbsp;stepped up to the line and netted the front end of a two-shot foul to make it a three point advantage for FHSU with 0:33 seconds left. Stearns would deliver again moments later when the Mavericks attempted to hoist the game-tying shot. Stearns was able to cleanly get her hand on the shot, misdirecting it straight up into the air during the closing second.

Hollenbeck finished with 12 points, while Golladay and Sallach both added 10. Wagner finished a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line on her way to a game-high 24 points. Golladay led the distributing efforts with four assists.

The Tigers will take the court again on Monday against MSU-Denver at the Auraria Event Center. The game is set to tip at 3 p.m. CT/2 p.m. MT&nbsp;&nbsp;

🏀 Tiger women hold off Colorado Mesa in Denver

DENVER – Bjarni Jonsson hit a&nbsp;3-point field goal as time expired to force overtime but the Fort Hays State men's basketball team couldn't overcome an eight-point deficit in the extra period and lost 75-71 to MSU Denver Sunday afternoon at the Auraria Event Center.

The Tigers (2-1) rallied from a 14-point deficit with a little under eight minutes to play but the Roadrunners (4-0) scored the first eight points of the overtime then held off the Tigers late rally.

MSU Denver opened the game on a 7-1 run before FHSU answered with eight straight points to to up 9-7. It was part of a bigger 19-6 run capped by a Kaleb Hammeke&nbsp;3-pointer which pushed the Tiger lead to 20-13. 

The Roadrunners closed out the first half on a 20-8 run for a 33-28 lead at the break then extended it 14 points with 7:50 remaining in the game.

The Tigers answered with a 9-0 run to get within four with just under three minutes to play. They and closed the second half on a 22-8 run to force the OT.

&nbsp;The Tigers forced a turnover to get the ball back with 28 seconds. They then worked the ball around and Jahiem Holden found an open Jonsson in the right corner who buried a three to tie the game as time expired.

MSU Denver scored the first eight points in the overtime as the Tigers missed their first five shots. A Conner Landell&nbsp;triggered an 8-2 FHSU run. Kaleb Hemmeke&nbsp;hit a pair 3-pointers to get the Tigers back within two with a little over a minute to play. 

The Tigers trailed by three again with just over 30 seconds to play and forced another turnover out of the Roadrunners. However, they turnedc the ball over. MSU Denver went made one of two free throws for the final margin.

Holden led the Tigers with 19 points and five assists, going 8-of-15 from the field and 3-of-7 beyond the 3-point line. Kaleb Hammeke added 13 points. Hammeke tied Shaun Riley&nbsp;for the team lead in rebounds with five each.

Brayden Maldonado led the MSU Denver effort with 21 points and five assists, hitting 8-of-13 field goal attempts with a 3-of-3 effort at the free-throw line. Mario Lacy, who scored the first six points of overtime for MSU Denver, finished with 14 points. McGill also reached double figures in scoring with 15 points. Lacy had a double-double, adding 16 rebounds.

Fort Hays State will host Central Christian College for its first home game of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for noon at Gross Memorial Coliseum.&nbsp;&nbsp;

🏀 Tiger men fall in overtime at MSU Denver

NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Tournament MVP Nijel Pack scored 20 of his 28 points in the first half against his former school, and No. 12 Miami topped Kansas State 91-83 on Sunday to win the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas championship.

Norchad Omier scored 23 for the Hurricanes (5-0), who are essentially assured of tying a school record by being in the AP Top 25 for the 17th consecutive week when the new poll comes out Monday. Miami also had a run of 17 consecutive appearances in the 2015-16 season.

Wooga Poplar and Matthew Cleveland each scored 15 for Miami.

“It was so much fun for me,” Pack said. “We all came out ready to play. It was a really good game for us.”

Cam Carter scored 28 points — 24 in the second half — and Arthur Kaluma had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Kansas State (3-2), which fell to 0-2 against ranked opponents this season. The Wildcats started the year with a loss to then-No. 21 USC in Las Vegas.

Tylor Perry and David N'Guessan had 10 apiece for Kansas State, which trailed by as many as 24 early in the second half but outscored Miami 30-16 over the final 6 1/2 minutes.

“That's the character of our team," Kansas State coach Jerome Tang said. “I'm very, very proud of them for the second half.”

The difference was 3-point shooting — Miami was 12 of 24 from beyond the arc, Kansas State just 4 of 28. Pack's seven 3's tied his best in a Miami uniform; he had eight on two occasions while playing for the Wildcats.

“I think everybody knows that Nijel was probably extremely well motivated because he had been a player for the Kansas State Wildcats," Miami coach Jim Larrañaga said.

Pack spent his first two college seasons at Kansas State, averaging 15.3 points and 2.9 assists in 53 games there. He transferred before last season, helped the Hurricanes reach the Final Four and is now three makes shy of 100 3-pointers at Miami.

“He was always a really good player. ... I thought we did a better job on him in the second half, but first half, he was pretty special,” Tang said.

Pack's seventh 3-pointer on Sunday gave Miami a 73-51 lead with 7:17 left. That cushion got cut down considerably in the next few minutes.

Kansas State outscored Miami 19-4 over a 4-minute stretch of the second half, getting within 79-70 on a jumper by Carter with 2:48 remaining. Carter had 11 of Kansas State's points during that spurt.

But Miami would hang on. Cleveland had a putback tip-in to give Miami an 11-point lead with 2:26 left and Omier had the next eight points for the Hurricanes — who matched their best start since the 2018-19 season. It’s the fifth time in Larrañaga's 13-year tenure at Miami that the Hurricanes have opened a season 5-0 or better.

“I'm most pleased that we're 5-0,” Larrañaga said. “The teams we've played are good.”

Kansas State: The Wildcats had won eight consecutive games against Division I teams from the state of Florida until last March, when they lost to Florida Atlantic in the Elite Eight — and now, they've lost to Miami as well. Their next game against a team from the Sunshine State is Jan. 6, when they open Big 12 play against UCF.

Miami: It was the first game of the season in which the Hurricanes didn't have a run of at least 10 consecutive unanswered points. They didn't need one — a pair of 7-0 runs in the opening minutes built a 15-4 lead, and an 8-0 run early in the second half pushed Miami's edge to 57-33.

The tournament announced the field for the 2024 Baha Mar event. It'll be Virginia, Baylor, St. John's and Tennessee.

Kansas State: Host Central Arkansas on Wednesday.

Miami: Visit Kentucky on Nov. 28 in the ACC-SEC challenge.

The Fort Hays State women's basketball team will head to Colorado for the first time in nearly 14 years for a pair of non-conference matchups next week (Nov. 19-20). The Tigers will first take on Colorado Mesa on Sunday afternoon (3 p.m./2 p.m. MT) on the campus of Colorado Christian in Lakewood before battling MSU Denver on the road on Monday (3 p.m./2 p.m. MT).The Tigers (2-0) and Mavericks (5-0) are both undefeated entering the weekend, while the Roadrunners (0-2) are still in search of their first win of the 2023-24 season.

Fort Hays State jumped from 10th to sixth in the D2CSC Central Region Media Poll after a pair of wins last weekend in St. Joseph, Mo., including a 16-point win over second-ranked Minnesota State.&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/katie-wagner/7531">Katie Wagner</a>&nbsp;was named the first MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week after averaging 21 points, eight rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in the two wins, including a career-best 32 points against MSU.

Sophomores Ellie Stearns&nbsp;and Brooke Loewe&nbsp;both contributed 15 points in the win over Minnesota State, with Loewe also setting a new career high and Stearns missing her personal best by just one point.

Five Tigers are averaging at least seven points per game so far this year, including Wagner, Stearns (12.5 ppg), Loewe (9.5 ppg), Olivia Hollenbeck&nbsp;(8.5 ppg) and Emma Ruddle&nbsp;(7.5 ppg).

Fort Hays State shot 46.3 percent from the floor as a team last week, 33rd-best in Division II, while the Tigers lead the MIAA and rank 22nd in field goal percentage defense at 32.1 percent.

The Tigers and Mavericks are playing on November 19 for a second-consecutive season, with FHSU cruising to a 75-50 win over CMU exactly one year ago in Hays.

Fort Hays State has traveled to the Centennial State just once since the Tigers transitioned to the MIAA in 2006, with FHSU picking up a pair of wins over Colorado School of Mines and Regis in the 2009 Colorado Mines Thanksgiving Classic.

Colorado Mesa is off to a 5-0 start after opening up three wins in Canada in early November and two regional victories at home last weekend. The Mavericks rank 14th in the country with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.37 while their defense leads the RMAC with an opposing scoring average of 54.8 points per night. Olivia Reed leads all Division II with four double-doubles in those five wins, averaging 19.4 points per game and ranking third in the country with 14.6 rebounds per game. Kylie Kravig's 27 assists are the most by any DII player so far this season.

The Tigers are 15-12 all-time against Colorado Mesa, including a 2-2 record in neutral site matchups. MSU Denver lost to a pair of ranked regional opponents during the opening weekend of the season, falling to No. 19 Angelo State and No. 24 Texas Woman's. The Roadrunners averaged 37.5 points per game while holding its opponents to 65.0 points per night. MSU Denver averaged just 10 team fouls per game, second-fewest in all Division II. Brianna Sealy grabs 9.5 defensive rebounds per game, 11th-most in DII, while ranking 27th in total rebounds with 11.0 per night.

The Tigers hold a narrow 14-13 edge in the all-time series with MSU Denver, while the Roadrunners are 11-4 at home against FHSU. Then referred to as Metro State, the Roadrunners forced 24 Tiger turnovers to secure a 68-60 win in the final RMAC battle between the teams on February 18, 2006 in Denver. Tiya Tatum led the Tigers with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting off the bench, with Laura Cowan adding eight points and 10 rebounds. Fort Hays State Men's Basketball travels to MSU Denver on Sunday for its first true road contest of the 2023-24 season. The Tigers, recently tabbed No. 16 in the D2CSC Top 25 Poll, enter the contest at 2-0, while the Roadrunners are 3-0 on the season. Game time is set for 1 p.m. CT / 12 p.m. MT.

The Tigers picked up wins over Southwestern Oklahoma State and Arkansas Tech in their first weekend of action, played in Emporia, Kan. The Tigers averaged 68 points over the two contests, while holding the opposition to an average of 59. The Tigers have had one of the top scoring defenses nationally the past two seasons and rank 12th&nbsp;in that category so far this season.

The Tigers are in the Top 25 of the D2CSC (formerly D2SIDA) Top 25 Poll for the first time since the 2021-22 season. The No. 16 ranking they currently hold is their highest ever in the D2CSC Poll, which began in 2014-15. However, the Tigers have been the top ranked team in the country numerous times in the NABC Top 25 Poll during their NCAA Division II history. The new ranking will be put to the test against a solid MSU Denver squad, that is coming off a one-point road win over No. 7/4 ranked West Texas A&amp;M on Thursday night.

The last time FHSU and MSU Denver met in Denver at the Auraria Event Center was in 2005-06, the last year of Fort Hays State's membership with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference before moving to the MIAA. The Tigers won that last meeting in Denver by a score of 67-59, which was part of a season when FHSU won the RMAC regular season title and reached No. 1 in the nation in the NABC Top 25 Poll. MSU Denver holds a slight 14-12 edge in the all-time series, but FHSU has won four of the last five meetings.

Last year, Fort Hays State squeaked out a 68-66 victory over MSU Denver in Hays. (AP) — Will Howard threw two touchdown passes and ran for the go-ahead score, and No. 23 Kansas State took advantage of two special teams blunders by rival Kansas as the Wildcats rallied to beat the Jayhawks 31-27 on Saturday night for their 15th straight win in the Sunflower Showdown.

D.J. Giddens added 102 yards rushing and a score for the reigning Big 12 champions, who kept alive their chances of defending the title in part by turning a blocked extra point into a 2-point return and a muffed punt into the go-ahead TD with 10:22 to go.

The Wildcats (8-3, 6-2, No. 21 CFP) allowed Kansas (7-4, 4-4, No. 25) to march right back down the field, led by former walk-on Cole Ballard under center. But the Jayhawks' drive stalled at the Kansas State 11, and Ballard was picked off in the end zone by Marques Sigle on fourth down to turn the ball over with just more than five minutes left.

Howard and Giddens picked up first downs on the ground to keep the clock running, and Howard hit Philip Brooks on third-and-7 with about two minutes to go — the catch near the sideline stood after a review — to wrap up the victory.

Ballard threw for 162 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Devin Neal, who took direct snaps for much of the game, finished with 138 yards rushing and three touchdowns for the Jayhawks.

The latest edition of the fourth-longest played series in the FBS started off like many of the previous 14: Kansas State hit on a couple of deep throws, then Howard found Ben Sinnott in the back of the end zone for a touchdown just over a minute into the game.

But that all-too-familiar script quickly went in another direction.

Ballard, starting in place of injured Jalon Daniels and Jason Bean, led three long touchdown drives that soaked up the first-half clock and kept the Wildcats' offense off the field. Neal finished the first when he slipped out of VJ Payne's tackle and ran 36 yards, then the second with a nine-yard run, before Ballard hit Lawrence Arnold just before halftime for a 20-16 lead.

The lead should have been larger, but the Jayhawks had an extra point blocked by Nate Matlack. The deflection was caught by receiver-turned-cornerback Keenan Garber, who returned it 91 yards for the 2-point conversion.

Kansas opened the second half with Ballard hitting Mason Fairchild for 59 yards and Neal adding his third TD run two plays later. But the Wildcats answered with a long drive of their own, twice converting on third down, opening a lane for Giddens to get into the end zone, and converting the 2-point try to get within 27-24 heading to the fourth quarter.

That's when the Jayhawks' Trevor Wilson fumbled a punt that he was trying to catch on a dead run. The Wildcats took over near midfield, converted a crucial third down and then opened a lane for Howard for the go-ahead score.

Kansas State found a way to win despite an uneven effort by Howard, too many penalties and a defense that struggled to contain Neal on the ground.

Kansas coach Lance Leipold has said repeatedly that his team needs to play the Wildcats tough to turn the Sunflower Showdown into a rivalry again. The Jayhawks did that despite playing a former walk-on at quarterback.

Kansas State wraps its regular season next Saturday against Iowa State.

Kansas visits Cincinnati next Saturday to finish the regular season.

🏈 No. 23 K-State rallies from 11 down to beat Kansas in Sunflower Showdown thriller

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Fort Hays State wrestling team had two individuals reach the podium at the Younes Hospitality Open Saturday (Nov. 18) at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/wrestling/roster/tereus-henry/7707">Tereus Henry</a>, the third-ranked wrestler in Division II at 197 pounds, placed fourth, while senior&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/wrestling/roster/cody-hicks/7800">Cody Hicks</a>&nbsp;earned his first placement of the season with a sixth-place finish in the Elite 165-pound bracket.

Henry reached the podium for a second weekend in a row after going 4-2 on the day. He picked up two decisions and a sudden victory win to reach the semifinals, where he lost to eventual champion Camden McDanel by a narrow 5-3 decision. He then reached the consolation finals via a medical forfeit before dropping a 6-5 decision on a last second stall call.

Hicks fell early to the 10th-ranked wrestler at 165 pounds before picking up a pair of wins on the back side of the bracket to reach the medal round. He racked up a 17-1 technical fall before tallying a 9-5 decision in the next round. &nbsp; JOPLIN, Mo. – Regan Hodsden&nbsp;finished in 51st&nbsp;place on Saturday at the NCAA DII Championships race held at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo. The meet featured 264 total racers and 34 programs vying for the national title.

Hodsden just slightly missed out on All-American status by 11 places, but she was able to post a personal-best 6K time on the day with a 20:54.5. Hodsden, who took home All-American honors last season, finished the highest in the race out of all MIAA conference competitors.

Grand Valley State took home the team title with 59 points, placing four racers in the top-15. Adams State and Colorado School of Mines followed behind for second and third.

Lindsay Cunningham of Winona State won the race, breaking 20 minutes with a 19:30.1 mark.&nbsp;&nbsp;
