Kansas State quarterback Will Howard and Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke were two of the biggest names who announced their intentions to enter college football's transfer portal Monday.

In a social media post, Howard thanked Kansas State coach Chris Klieman, his teammates and the Wildcats’ fanbase before concluding: “I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life and in the possibilities that lie ahead.”

Van Dyke also made his announcement on social media. “I have created lifelong friendships and memories, which I will always cherish. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunities and experiences that have shaped me during my time here," he wrote.

Howard led the Wildcats to the Big 12 title last season and another bowl game this season. Kansas State running back Treshaun Ward also announced his plans to enter the portal Monday.

Most teams wrapped up regular seasons this past weekend, leading some to declare their intent to transfer. Howard, Ward and Van Dyke are among those who are graduate transfers, meaning they could enter the portal and become immediately eligible, while players who have yet to graduate must wait until Dec. 4 to make their announcements official.

Howard emerged as the Wildcats' starter last year after injuries to Adrian Martinez, and he led them to an upset of eventual national runner-up TCU in the Big 12 title game. Howard was the clearcut starter entering this season, though he was pushed at times by freshman Avery Johnson, and threw for 2,643 yards with 24 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.

Howard, who will have one year of eligibility left, had tears in his eyes as he walked off the field after his final game at Kansas State on Saturday. He accounted for two touchdowns in a 42-35&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/cyclones-wildcats-iowa-kansas-state-football-score-4068afa45a02f5a0cb82d58ebd31834f">loss to Iowa State</a>&nbsp;in a game played in heavy snow.

Howard's departure means that Johnson, one of the nation's best dual-threat quarterbacks coming out of high school, will likely start for the Wildcats (8-4, 6-3 Big 12) in their bowl game. Johnson threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns but may be even more dangerous on the ground — he took over for Howard against Texas Tech and ran for five TDs&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/kansas-state-texas-tech-college-football-f65bd758f60040e9c28ffd20d115bbaa">in a 38-21 victory</a>.

Miami's situation is not as clear at quarterback for its bowl game. Van Dyke — who had 11 games of at least 300 yards in his career — lost his starting job earlier this month to freshman Emory Williams, who got hurt late in Miami's loss to Florida State. Van Dyke started the final two games of the regular season.

His departure means Miami has just one healthy scholarship quarterback on its roster, that being Jacurri Brown — who did not throw a pass this season.

The Hurricanes — who also saw running back Don Chaney Jr., defensive lineman Jahfari Harvey and linebacker Corey Flagg announce their decisions to enter the portal on Monday — will look to be busy in using the pool of transfers to make quick roster upgrades for 2024.

“It's the wild, wild West,” Miami coach Mario Cristobal said earlier Monday in his weekly appearance on WQAM-AM. “It really is. It's like completely out of control. And the NCAA, rightfully so, has taken a hard-line stance. If people are messing around and tampering, they're going to slam you. They really are. ... But you need to be ready to upgrade right away."

Van Dyke was the Atlantic Coast Conference’s rookie of the year in 2021 under then-offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, now the coach at SMU. He leaves Miami second on the school’s all-time list in completion percentage (63.7%), fourth in touchdown passes (54), fourth in completions (581) and sixth in yards (7,469).

Ward, who arrived at Kansas State from Florida State, is transferring again after ceding playing time to D.J. Giddens throughout the season. He ran for 643 yards and five touchdowns while adding two touchdown receptions.

Another veteran QB hitting the portal Monday was Mississippi State's Will Rogers, who threw for 12,315 yards in four seasons with the Bulldogs; three of those seasons came while he was running the late coach Mike Leach's Air Raid offense.

Hays High will open their basketball season for a 41st year with the Gerald Mitchell Hays City Shootout. The Indians will take the court on Thursday, November 3oth with the tournament running through Saturday.

Len Melvin is at the head of the girls program for a fourth season. The Indians finished sub-state runner-up for a second consecutive season and ended 2023 with a 14-8 record. They lost to eventual 5A state runner-up Bishop Carroll.

The Indians have two returning starters in juniors Molly Martin and Katie Linenberger. Martin started all 21 games she played in last year and averaged 12 points per game. Linenberger started 19 of 22 games and scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds per contest. Kinlee Winter appeared in 17 games, Riley Dreher all 22, and Zoe Winter played in 19 games but all will see their minutes increase.

Brygette Ross is the lone senior on the roster.

The Indians return 56% of their scoring and 48% of rebounding from a year ago.

Sean Dreiling will lead boys program for a second year following a 13-9 season and sub-state runner-up finish to Kapaun.

While the Indians graduated a large senior class they still return 54% of scoring and 38% of their rebounding.

Senior Jack Weimer averaged 12 points per game while playing in 22 games, starting 21. Sophomore Dawson Ruder and senior Kyzer Fox appeared in all 22 games while Edwin Muller played in 21 contests. Ruder started three games and Fox five. The remainder of the roster has 19 total game appearances.

Weimer, Fox, Muller, and Corbin Werth are the seniors listed on this year's roster.

Hays High will open with TMP in the first round of tournament action Thursday. The girls tip at 6:30 with the boys to follow. The TMP boys are ranked #3 in 2A.

Earlier in the day at Hays High School the Newton girls will play #3-6A Washburn Rural at 3:00 and the Newton boys take on Life Prep.

The other half of the tournament will be held at Hays Middle School where the day will open at 3:00 with Manhattan facing Millwood (OK) with the girls playing first. The Olathe West girls will play Hugoton at 6:30 and the defending 4A champion Hugoton boys will play Sunrise Christian. The Hugoton boys are preseason ranked #1 in 4A.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Patrick Mahomes passed for 298 yards and two touchdowns, and the Kansas City Chiefs ended their three-game second-half scoring drought to rally past the Las Vegas Raiders 31-17 on Sunday.

Kansas City (8-3) fell behind 14-0 in the second quarter but tied it by halftime and pulled away after that. Isiah Pacheco rushed for two touchdowns, and Rashee Rice caught eight passes for 107 yards and a TD.

Josh Jacobs rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders (5-7), ending a 12-game streak in which the Chiefs did not allow a 100-yard rusher.

The NFL's reigning rushing champion also broke 1,000 yards from scrimmage this season to become the only player to reach that mark each year since 2019. He joined Hall of Famer Marcus Allen as the only Raiders backs to accomplish that in their first five seasons.

Las Vegas' Aidan O'Connell passed for 248 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs have held 11 consecutive opponents to 24 or fewer points, just three off the team record. They shut down the Raiders in the second half, holding them to 113 yards after Las Vegas picked up 245 in the first two quarters.

Kansas City extended its winning streak to six games over the Raiders, and the Chiefs have beaten their AFC West rival in 16 of the past 18 meetings.

More importantly for the Chiefs, they bounced back from a 21-17 loss Monday night to Philadelphia, a Super Bowl rematch in which several receivers dropped passes.

Those receivers did a much better job against Las Vegas, especially after the Chiefs fell into an early 14-point hole.

🏈 Mahomes throws 2 touchdowns as Chiefs rally from 14 down to beat Raiders

DENVER (AP) — Russell Wilson accounted for two touchdowns and Denver's defense produced three more takeaways and a safety in the Broncos' 29-12 win over the injury-riddled Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

With their fifth consecutive victory, the Broncos (6-5) moved above .500 for the first time under coach Sean Payton.

The Browns (7-4) missed out on a chance to match their best start since 1999 and they lost several starters to injury, including rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson (head) in his first road start. He was hit hard by edge rusher Baron Browning just as he released a pass, drawing a late flag although the hit appeared legal.

The Broncos sacked his backup, P.J. Walker four times, once in the end zone for a safety.

Already without star cornerback Denzel Ward, who was inactive with a shoulder injury, the Browns saw several key players get hurt, including Myles Garrett (hand/wrist), Amari Cooper (rib) and Jordan Elliott (ankle).

Although the Browns sport a historically stout defense, the story on Sunday was about Denver's surging defense, which has now collected a whopping 15 takeaways in the Broncos' last four games — their best four-game stretch since 1989.

Wilson threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to tight end Adam Trautman after defensive tackle D.J. Jones recovered a fumbled reverse at the Cleveland 20-yard line early in the fourth quarter, pushing the Broncos' lead to 24-12.

Mike Purcell and Alex Singleton also recovered fumbles for Denver, which closed the scoring when Zach Allen tackled Walker in the end zone with 2:17 remaining.

Singleton smothered a loose ball after P.J. Locke, filling in for suspended safety Kareem Jackson, strip-sacked Walker at midfield earlier in the fourth quarter. That led to a 34-yard field goal from Wil Lutz that made it 27-12.

Browning's hit on Thompson-Robinson just as he released a pass appeared clean. He hit the QB with a shoulder, didn't launch at him or strike with the crown of his helmet. Thompson-Robinson was scrambling to avoid several pass rushers on third-and-12 from his 23 and was near his own goal line when he threw incomplete.

In the third quarter, Thompson-Robinson threw his first career TD pass, a 2-yard toss to tight end Harrison Bryant. But Cooper dropped the 2-point pass that would have tied it, leaving the Browns trailing 14-12.

The Tigers improved to 4-1 while the Thunder remain 1-4 in what was their fourth straight exhibition game against a Division II opponent.

Manhattan Christian hit seven first half 3-pointers to build several four-point leads. The Tigers scored the final four points of the first half to tie the gamer 33-33.

Manhattan Christian missed their first 14 field goal attempts of the second half.

Elijah Nnanabu led FHSU with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Kaleb Hammeke and R.J. Crawford&nbsp;each added 13 points. Hammeke led the Tigers with seven assists, while Traejon Davis&nbsp;pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

Dyelan Reed led MCC with 15 points. Jaxon Hurla added 11 .

FHSU shot 52.4 percent overall for the game, which included a 58.1 percent effort in the second half. The Tigers held the Thunder to 27.0 percent shooting including just a 1-of-12 effort beyond the 3-point line in the second half.

Fort Hays State enters conference play on Thursday night at Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m., which follows the women's contest at 5:30 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Abu Sama III ran through the snow for 276 yards and three touchdowns, Rocco Becht threw for 230 yards and three more scores, and Iowa State held No. 19 Kansas State on fourth down with less than a minute left for a 42-35 victory on Saturday night.

The shortest of the Cyclones' six touchdowns was a tying 33-yard pass from Becht to Jayden Higgins in the fourth quarter, and the longest was a go-ahead 82-yard pass to Jaylin Noel that gave Iowa State (7-5, 6-3 Big 12) the lead with 8:04 to go.

In between, Sama had TD runs of 60, 71 and 77 yards while finishing with the third-best rushing performance in school history. And the fleet-footed Noel had another 79-yard TD catch to finish with three grabs for 160 yards and two scores.

Kansas State (8-4, 6-3) had a chance to tie the game, twice converting on fourth down while marching inside the Iowa State 20. But on yet another fourth down, Will Howard's pass to the corner of the end zone with 59 seconds to go fell incomplete.

Howard finished with 288 yards and a touchdown pass, a TD run and an interception. Ben Sinnott had 10 catches for 136 yards and a score, while D.J. Giddens and Treshaun Ward also had touchdown runs for the Wildcats.

Heavy snow fell throughout the game, and more than a dozen workers tried valiantly to keep the yard lines and hash marks clear. But the field quickly became the kind of playing surface better suited for sled dogs and snowmobiles.

Players slipped, stumbled and slid. More than once, someone ran over a woebegone official, photographer or cheerleader when they couldn't stop at the sideline. There were fumbles, dropped passes and muffed kicks.

Through it all, the longtime Big 12 rivals kept producing in wildly different fashions.

Kansas State was content to mush through the snow on long, methodical drives, even if it meant converting on third and fourth down to keep them alive. Giddens and Ward did most of the work, but Howard's connection with Sinnott and wide receiver Jayce Brown was a big reason why the Wildcats were able to keep getting into the end zone.

Iowa State was perfectly happy scoring in one big play.

Iowa State had already qualified for its sixth bowl game in the last seven years. Now, the destination could be a bit better.

Kansas State hoped that it would be playing for a chance to defend its Big 12 title on Saturday night. But when Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State won before the Wildcats kicked off, they were left playing for bowl positioning.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Jason Bean returned from injury and threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for two more, helping Kansas snap a two-game losing streak with a 49-16 victory at Cincinnati.

Bean who was injured two weeks ago in a loss to Texas Tech and missed last week’s loss to Kansas State, passed for 250 yards and rushed for 90. He had touchdown runs of 43 and 50 yards to seal the game in the fourth quarter.

“It felt good to get back out there with the boys,” Bean said. “Last week was tough just sitting on the sideline watching. I wanted to come out and make a statement this week.”

Devin Neal rushed for 106 yards and two TDs for the Jayhawks (8-4, 5-4 Big 12) who had their first winning season since 2008.

“I’m very proud of our guys and their perseverance after losing two (straight) and get a road win to cap the season,” Kansas head coach Lance Leipold said. “It’s a testament to how far this program’s come in a very short two and a half years.”

Kansas will learn its next destination when bowl pairings are announced on Sunday, Dec. 3.

“I sure hope we get a great destination because these guys deserve it,” Leipold said.

Corey Kiner ran for 106 yards on 18 carries and has 1,047 yards rushing this season, one of few bright spots for the Bearcats (3-9, 1-8 Big 12) in a very difficult season.

Cincinnati used a pair of quarterbacks in the first half.

Emory Jones started, then Brady Lichtenberg's first pass attempt was intercepted by Cobee Bryant early in the second quarter, leading to Neal's 13-yard TD to put the Jayhawks ahead 7-3.

With 5:31 left in the first half, Neal found tight end Jared Casey in the end zone for a 15-yard TD, making the score 14-3.

There was a big momentum swing just before halftime

Jones returned to toss an 11-yard TD pass to Ryan Montgomery to cut the deficit to 14-10 with 22 seconds left in the half.

The Jayhawks responded by driving 56 yards in two plays in 17 seconds. Bean's 26-yard TD pass to Mason Fairchild made the halftime score 21-10.

“We've been able to that ... answer a score really late in the half,” Leipold said. “It kind of took a little wind out of them.”

Neal took a direct snap and ran 30 yards untouched for a touchdown making the score 28-10 early in the third quarter.

“We had some really high goals for this team this year,” Bean said. "I’m just really proud of this team for what they’ve done this season. We still have more to accomplish.”

Kansas: Neal now has 3,006 rushing yards for his career, placing him fifth all-time on the school's list. He needs 69 yards to pass Laverne Smith for fourth place.

Cincinnati: The Bearcats, two years removed from a College Football Playoff appearance under Luke Fickell, finished Scott Satterfield's first season as head coach with their worst record since 1999.

“This is going to be a hard winter," Satterfield said. "We are going to have a meeting to see who is staying then we get back to work. We had some undisciplined play that cost us a lot of games. We have 22 recruits coming in. When the transfer portal opens up on December 4, we will hit that hard.”

Kansas: The Jayhawks will play in a bowl game for the second straight year.

The Tigers picked up a 63-44 win in their home opener on Tuesday afternoon against Central Christian in a special afternoon contest that welcomed all elementary and middle school students from Hays. It pushed their all-time mark against Central Christian to 22-0. They look to keep another unbeaten series record intact when they welcome Manhattan Christian on Saturday. FHSU is 2-0 against MCC, with both contests occurring the last two seasons.

FHSU is receiving votes in the latest D2CSC Top 25 Poll. The Tigers were ranked No. 16 in the first edition of the poll released back on November 14, but slid down after taking their first loss of the season at MSU Denver this past Sunday (Nov. 19). However, since MSU Denver knocked off two ranked teams in a row, they moved into both the NABC and D2CSC Top 25 this week with a 4-0 record on the season.

Fort Hays State won its contest with Manhattan Christian last year by a score of 95-40, posting nearly identical margins in both halves. FHSU led 48-20 at halftime, then outscored MCC 47-20 in the second half. Kaleb Hammeke, who leads the Tigers in scoring so far this year at 15.3 points per game, produced a team-high 22 points and seven assists in that game. FHSU has held Manhattan Christian to 40 points or less in both previous meetings between the schools.

Bjarni Jonsson&nbsp;led the Tiger effort in the 19-point win over Central Christian on Tuesday with 16 points and nine rebounds. Hammeke dished out a team-high six assists.&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/r-j-crawford/7596">R.J. Crawford</a>&nbsp;is the only other Tiger besides Hammeke averaging double figures in points so far this season at 11.0 per game. He has scored at least nine in all games this season.

Manhattan Christian's only win this season was against the Central Christian squad the Tigers just defeated on Tuesday. Dyelan Reed leads the Thunder in scoring at 14.8 points per game in regular season contests. He is one of three players on the team that averages double figures in scoring. This will be the fourth straight exhibition game for Manhattan Christian after it fell to NCAA Division II members Missouri S&amp;T, Wayne State (Neb.), and Newman University. MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Arthur Kaluma scored 20 points, David N’Guessan added a double-double, and Kansas State routed Central Arkansas 100-55 on Wednesday night.

K-State (4-2) led 10-1 in the early going and 26-5 eight minutes into the game on the way to a 49-22 halftime lead. The Wildcats outshot the Bears 51%-18% in the first half.

A 10-0 run by K-State put the game completely out of reach midway through the second half and the lead reached 45 on a layup by Macaleab Rich with about a minute remaining.

At no point in the game did Central Arkansas score back-to-back baskets.

N’Guessan had 11 points and 11 rebounds, Rich had 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench, and Dai Dai Ames scored 14, also off the bench for the Wildcats.

Carl Daughtery had 23 points and seven rebounds, and Tucker Anderson scored 13 for the Bears (1-5). Only six players scored for Central Arkansas.

The Wildcats opened a four-game homestand with a convincing win that pushed their non-conference home winning streak to 12. K-State has a 122-12 record at home since 2006-07.

The Wildcats entered with a 79.8 points per game average, while hitting on 43.6% from the field, including 9.2 3-pointers. They shot 50.7% and made 10 3-pointers on Wednesday.

Kansas State hosts Oral Roberts on Tuesday.

HONOLULU (AP) — Hunter Dickinson scored 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds and No. 1 Kansas pulled away for a 69-60 win over No. 7 Tennessee on Wednesday.

The Jayhawks (5-1) bounced back from a 14-point loss a day earlier to take third place in the Maui Invitational over the Volunteers (4-2), who have dropped their last two games.

“It was a great win for us today,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. “We struggled last night obviously and to bounce back in 13 hours to play a team as good as Tennessee and to hang in there under some fairly adverse conditions for some of our players, it was just a terrific thing and one that we’ll look back on in February and be very thankful for.”

Kevin McCullar Jr. had 14 points, KJ Adams Jr. added 13 and Dajuan Harris Jr. chipped in eight assists for Kansas, which led by as many as 11 in the closing minutes.

Tennessee’s Santiago Vescovi hit a 3-pointer from the left wing to tie it at 49 with 12:44 to play, but Kansas answered with back-to-back buckets from Dickinson to pull ahead for good.

The Volunteers led by as many as seven in the first half.

Vescovi made five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points. Dalton Knecht and Jordan Gainey contributed 13 apiece and Jonas Aidoo had 11 rebounds.

“Give Kansas credit, I thought they played extremely well,” Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said. “I thought their key guys did exactly what you’d expect them to do night in and night out.”

It was the fifth meeting between the teams in the last six seasons. Tennessee had won the last two meetings, but Kansas still leads the all-time series, 5-3.

The game was a rematch of the Battle 4 Atlantis championship a year ago. Tennessee won that game 64-50.

Tennessee was playing back-to-back games against top-three teams for the first time in program history. It hung tough with No. 2 Purdue on Tuesday but faded down the stretch and came up short, 71-67.

Kansas took the court at the Stan Sheriff Center about 12 hours after it was routed by No. 4 Marquette 73-59 in the tournament semifinals Tuesday.

With his team ahead 26-25 with five-plus minutes left in the first half, Dalton Knecht threw down a ferocious two-handed dunk off a well-placed inbounds pass from Zakai Zeigler to give Tennessee a three-point lead.

Self was assessed a technical foul at the eight-minute mark of the first half. Self already was unhappy with a non-call after he felt his player was fouled and one possession later saw McCullar whistled for an offensive foul. As the teams went to their benches for the media timeout, Self exchanged words with an official, who responded with a tech against the longtime Jayhawks coach. It was Self’s second technical foul in as many days.

Tennessee will visit North Carolina next Wednesday as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.

Kansas will host Eastern Illinois Tuesday and UConn three nights later in the Big East-Big 12 Battle.

Fort Hays State Men's Soccer had three members named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for 2023. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.

Earning the distinction this year are Jackson Elgas, Callum Frogson, and Tadhg Walsh. They helped FHSU to an 8-8-2 record during the 2023 season. Frogson and Walsh were All-GAC/MIAA selections for a second-straight season.

To be considered for Academic All-District selection, an individual must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better, and compete in 90 percent of the team's contests or start at least 66 percent of contests at the time of nomination. A school can have a maximum of six selections for soccer, so FHSU reached the maximum allowed this year.

Elgas played and started 13 matches this season. He notched two assists for the season, playing 1,063 minutes as a defender. He was an all-conference selection a season ago. Elgas is a Biology major at FHSU and holds a GPA of 3.83.

Frogson is now a two-time All-GAC/MIAA selection, once as a midfielder and once as a defender. He earned first-team honors as a defender this year. He played the full length in 17 of 18 matches this season, notching an assist. He has 14 career points after recording 13 last year as a midfielder. Frogson is a Finance major and holds a GPA of 3.55.

Walsh is also a two-time All-GAC/MIAA selection as a midfielder, including first-team honors this year. He ranked third on the team in points with 11, recording four goals and three assists, along with a game-winning goal. &nbsp;

Walsh is a Health and Human Performance major and holds a GPA of 3.80.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Fort Hays State had six members of its women's soccer team receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for the 2023 season. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.

Earning the honor for FHSU Women's Soccer this year were Emily Hutchings, Reilly Madden, Hannah Mares, Isabel Robben, Kintzli Wgner adn Megan Wiman. All six also were also All-MIAA selections this season and helped the Tigers to their second consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament and fourth overall in program history. The Tigers finished the season at 13-5-3 overall. Hutchings, Madden, Mares, and Robben received Academic All-District honors for the second-straight year.

Hutchings is a three-time All-MIAA selection, twice as a midfielder and once as a defender. She was an All-MIAA First Team selection this year at defender. Hutchings played all but seven minutes of action this season, going the distance in 20 of 21 matches. She was also an All-MIAA Tournament selection for the second-straight year. Hutchings is a double major at FHSU in both Chemistry and Biology and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.95.

Madden is a four-time All-MIAA selection at defender, the first four-year all-conference honoree in program history. She anchored the Tiger defense that allowed just 0.67 goals per match in 2023 and produced 12 shutouts, which tied the school record for shutouts for a second-straight year. She broke the FHSU single-season record for shutouts in a season with 12, topping a record of 11 she previously shared with two other players. Robben entered the NCAA Tournament as the national leader in goalkeeper minutes played and finished the season playing all 1,890 minutes possible for the Tigers. She also owns the school record for individual shutouts by a goalkeeper in a career with 23. Robben is a double major at FHSU in Accounting and Finance, holding a GPA of 3.85.

 </figure>FHSU AthleticsFort Hays State had six members of its women's soccer team receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for the 2023 season. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.Earning the honor for FHSU Women's Soccer this year were Emily Hutchings, Reilly Madden, Hannah Mares, Isabel Robben, Kintzli Wgner adn Megan Wiman. All six also were also All-MIAA selections this season and helped the Tigers to their second consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament and fourth overall in program history. The Tigers finished the season at 13-5-3 overall. Hutchings, Madden, Mares, and Robben received Academic All-District honors for the second-straight year.To be considered for Academic All-District selection, an individual must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better, and compete in 90 percent of the team's contests or start at least 66 percent of contests at the time of nomination. A school can have a maximum of six selections for soccer, so FHSU reached the maximum allowed this year.Hutchings is a three-time All-MIAA selection, twice as a midfielder and once as a defender. She played every regular season match, but unfortunately was unable to participate in postseason contests due to injury. She finished the year with three assists. Wagner is also a double major in Accounting and Finance at FHSU, holding a GPA of 3.90.Wiman earned All-MIAA honors at defender in her second year on the pitch for FHSU. She played all but 29 minutes possible this season, playing the full length of time in 19 of 21 matches. She did not accumulate any points for the season, but put seven of her eight shots taken on goal. Wiman is a Health and Human Performance major with a 3.68 GPA.
