🏃‍♀️ Meyer named FHSU assistant track and field coach

HAYS, Kan. - Fort Hays State head track and field/cross country coach Dr. Jason McCullough has announced the promotion of Kelly Meyer to full-time assistant track and field coach beginning with the 2024-25 season.

"We are excited to promote Coach Meyer to our full-time assistant position," said McCullough. "She brings experience, enthusiasm and rapport with the team and staff to the program. We look forward to great things with Coach Meyer."

Meyer has been on the coaching staff for six years, serving as an assistant coach responsible for sprints for three years (2021-24), a graduate assistant for two seasons (2019-21) and a volunteer assistant for one campaign (2018-19).Meyer has coached 14 All-Americans, eight MIAA champions and 32 All-MIAA performers in her time on the FHSU coaching staff. Her athletes hold 10 school records.

Originally from Scott City, Kan., Meyer competed for FHSU as a sprinter from 2015-18, earning two All-American honors in the 400m and winning three All-MIAA medals, including a conference title in the 2018 indoor distance medley relay.

Meyer is a two-time graduate of Fort Hays State University's Department of Health and Human Performance, completing a bachelor's degree in 2019 before finishing her master's degree in 2021. Formerly Kelly Wycoff, Meyer resides in Hays with her husband and fellow former Tiger Brett Meyer.
