KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs could put the blame for their loss in Green Bay on Sunday night on a whole lot of people.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who outplayed league MVP Patrick Mahomes. The Green Bay wide receivers, who made all the plays that Kansas City's group has failed to make so much of the season.

And yes, the officials, whose questionable decisions in the final few minutes — including two pass interference penalties that were not called — might very well have altered the outcome.

Yet the Chiefs, whose 27-19 loss was their third in the past five weeks, have enough championship pedigree to carry most of the blame on their own shoulders.

Mahomes threw an interception late in the game, they still were flagged five times for 50 yards as penalties continued to be a problem, and they went just 2 for 4 when they reached the red zone.

Fix those problems and those questionable decisions by referee Brad Allen's crew might not have made a difference.

“You try to learn from it, learn from your mistakes and get better. That’s all you can do. That’s win or lose,” said Mahomes, who was just 21 of 33 for 210 yards with a touchdown and that pick.

“We haven’t dealt with a ton of losing here, but everything is out in front of you. We can still win a division, but it’s going to take us getting better and better each and every week.”

Yet as much as Mahomes wanted to immediately turn his attention to next Sunday's game against Buffalo, it is almost impossible not to reflect on just how costly the Chiefs' loss in Green Bay turned out to be Sunday night.

First, there are the standings: Kansas City is 8-4 and a game behind Baltimore and Miami, and a half-game behind Jacksonville as it prepared to play Cincinnati on Monday night, which means the Chiefs have ground to make up for the No. 1 seed.

Second, there were the injuries: The Chiefs lost linebacker Drue Tranquill to a concussion. He already was replacing the injured Nick Bolton, while starting safety Bryan Cook had to be carted off the field with an ankle injury.

“We understand everything we want is still ahead of us,” Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones said. "I got the five-minute rule: You've got five minutes to complain, you’ve got five minutes to get it all out. We’ve got an important game coming next week to Arrowhead, so watch film, see what we can get better at and let’s take this week in practice.”

The Chiefs ran for 148 yards, and Isiah Pacheco had 18 carries for 110 and a score before he got thrown out of the game for throwing a punch. If the Chiefs are ever going to loosen up opposing defenses downfield, they need to prove they can run the ball. They have only topped 100 yards as a team twice in the past eight games.

Turnovers and penalties. The ability of wide receivers to get open. Basically, the same things Kansas City has struggled with going back to a season-opening loss to Detroit. Mahomes is on pace to throw 14 interceptions, the most of his career, while his QB rating is tracking to be the worst of his six years as a starter.

LB Jack Cochrane, a former undrafted free agent from FCS school South Dakota, was thrown into the spotlight when Tranquill — already the backup at their position — was placed in the concussion protocol. Cochrane responded with seven tackles, including two for a loss, and did an admirable job keeping the defense properly lined up.

The Chiefs hoped WR Skyy Moore would take a step forward in Year 2 after coming on strong down the stretch of his rookie season. Instead, Moore had one catch for 5 yards Sunday night, ran the route on which Mahomes was picked, and has offered very little help on offense or special teams all season.

The injuries to Tranquill and Cook could keep them out for a while, but the Chiefs think Bolton could return this week, and that would at least help one of their positions. Bolton (wrist surgery) practiced last week, but remained on injured reserve.

0 — The number of misses K Harrison Butker has this season. The only kickers with perfect regular seasons on PATs and field goals are Gary Anderson in 1998 and Mike Vanderjagt in 2003. Butker has made 23 consecutive field goals, tying his own club record set in 2017, and his 13 games without a missed field goal is tied for the Chiefs record.

The Chiefs may be struggling but they are far from desperate. That might better describe the Bills, who visit Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday coming off a bye. They are 6-6 and outside the playoffs with five games left in the regular season.

🏈 Chiefs rue more penalties, miscues and questionable officiating in loss to Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Jordan Love showed the Kansas City Chiefs just how much he's learned since the last time he faced them.

Love connected with Christian Watson on two of his three touchdown passes and the resurgent Green Bay Packers won their third straight game, 27-19 over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.

This marked the first time Love had faced the Chiefs since a 13-7 loss at Kansas City two years ago in his first career start, after a positive COVID-19 test sidelined Aaron Rodgers.

“Obviously I've had this game circled for a long time,” Love said. “This was my first start and I obviously didn't play how I wanted to the first game. To be able to see these guys and get the victory is huge.”

The Packers scored touchdowns on three of their first four drives and never trailed, with their defense making two big stops in the last 5 1/2 minutes. Green Bay knocked down Mahomes' pass into the end zone on the game’s final play.

Since losing four straight earlier this season, the Packers have won four of five to creep into playoff position.

“They're coming together,” Packers cach Matt LaFleur said. “They're working. They're getting better. They're playing faster, playing more confident.”

The Packers (6-6) improved their December record to 16-0 under LaFleur. The only team ever to win more consecutive December games was the San Diego Chargers with 18 straight from 2006-09, before their move to Los Angeles.

Love went 25 of 36 for 267 yards. Tight end Ben Sims had a 1-yard catch for his first career touchdown, and Love added TD passes of 9 and 12 yards to Watson.

Mahomes was 21 of 33 for 210 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception for the Super Bowl champion Chiefs (8-4), who lost in front of pop superstar Taylor Swift for the first time. Kansas City had won its previous four games Swift had attended since beginning her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce.

Kansas City still leads the AFC West but fell behind three other teams for the top seed in the conference.

“The Packers I thought did a great job tonight,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "They got after us, and it’s a good football team. We’ve got to be able to start faster on both sides of the ball. We’ve got to make sure we take care of that. Whether it was the penalties on offense or whether we weren’t getting off the field on the defensive side, those are things that cost us. We’ve got to learn from that and get better as we go forward.”

Isiah Pacheco rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown before getting ejected for punching Keisean Nixon during a scuffle on the game’s final series. Noah Gray had a 2-yard TD catch early in the fourth quarter that got Kansas City within two.

Mahomes had a couple of late chances to tie the game or take the lead.

Kansas City had a first down just beyond midfield when Nixon picked off Mahomes' pass intended for Skyy Moore with 5:14 left. The turnover set up a 48-yard field goal by Anders Carlson that made it 27-19.

Kansas City got the ball back at its own 30 with 1:09 left and no timeouts remaining.

Mahomes had a 10-yard run and got hit by Jonathan Owens while going out of bounds, leading to a personal foul that put the ball at Green Bay’s 45. Rashee Rice then appeared to fumble, with Green Bay’s Corey Ballentine returning it for a game-clinching touchdown, but replays showed Rice was down before the ball came loose.

The Chiefs argued in vain for a pass interference call on a long incompletion to Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the final minute. The Chiefs had the ball at Kansas City’s 33 on the game’s final play, when Mahomes threw into a crowd, and there was plenty of contact before the ball fell to the ground.

Chiefs: LB Drue Tranquill left with a concussion in the first quarter. S Bryan Cook was carted off the field with an ankle injury in the third quarter. RB Jerick McKinnon (groin) didn't play.

Packers: Watson injured his hamstring while running for a first down late in the fourth quarter. CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder) missed a fourth consecutive game. RB Aaron Jones (knee) and TE Josiah Deguara (hip) were out for a second straight game.

🏈 Love throws 3 TD passes, Packers beat Chiefs for 3rd straight win

HOUSTON (AP) — Nico Collins had a career-high 191 yards receiving and a fourth-quarter touchdown, and Jimmie Ward intercepted Denver's Russell Wilson in the end zone with 9 seconds left to left to help the Houston Texans hold on for a 22-17 win over the Broncos on Sunday.

Ward leapt in front of intended receiver Lucas Krull to secure the fourth victory in five games for Houston (7-5) and snap a five-game winning streak for Denver (6-6).

Wilson was intercepted a season-high three times, all of them after halftime. Derek Stingley Jr. had the first two picks for the Texans. The Broncos had forced 15 turnovers in their winning streak but did not have a takeaway Sunday.

Houston rookie C.J. Stroud threw for 274 yards to end a streak of four straight games with at least 300 yards passing. Star rookie receiver Tank Dell injured his ankle in the first half and was carted off the field.

Texans rookie defensive end Will Anderson Jr., the third overall pick in the draft, had the best game of his young career. The former Alabama star had two sacks, four quarterback hits, deflected one of the balls that Stingley intercepted and deflected a punt.

Wilson threw for 186 yards with a touchdown in Denver’s first loss since Oct. 12.

Early in the fourth quarter, Wilson's 41-yard pass to Jerry Jeudy got Denver to the 1, and the QB ran for the touchdown on the next play to cut Houston's lead to 22-17.

The Broncos got a stop and were driving on the ensuing possession when Stingley hopped in front of a pass intended for Courtland Sutton to give Houston the ball back.

Stroud was shaken up on a run on the next drive and left the game for two plays while he was examined in the medical tent on the sideline. He returned and was sacked before the Texans punted.

Sutton grabbed a 45-yard touchdown pass from Wilson that cut the lead to 16-10 with about five minutes remaining in the third. It was the 329th career TD pass for Wilson, who moved past Dan Marino for second-most in a player’s first 12 seasons.

Stroud was sacked and fumbled on third down on Houston’s next possession, but the Texans got the ball back. They punted, but Stingley intercepted Wilson on Denver’s first play on a ball that was deflected by Anderson.

The Texans cashed in on the miscue when Collins scored on a 3-yard reception on the second play of the fourth quarter. The 2-point conversion failed to leave Houston up 22-10.

The Texans forced a three-and-out on the first possession of the second half when Anderson sacked Wilson on first down and Jonathan Greenard took him down on third down. Houston pushed the lead to 16-3 on Matt Ammendola's 38-yard field goal.

The Texans led by three in the first quarter when they went for it on fourth-and-2. Houston was called for a false start on the play, but Alex Singleton hit Stroud late to draw an unnecessary roughness penalty and give the Texans a first down at the Broncos 3.

Two plays later, Pierce bulled in for the touchdown to make it 10-0. Dell was injured when he got rolled up at the end of Pierce’s run.

Broncos G Quinn Meinerz left in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.

Derek Stingley Jr. had the first two picks for the Texans. The Broncos had forced 15 turnovers in their winning streak but did not have a takeaway Sunday.Houston rookie C.J. Stroud threw for 274 yards to end a streak of four straight games with at least 300 yards passing. Star rookie receiver Tank Dell injured his ankle in the first half and was carted off the field.Texans rookie defensive end Will Anderson Jr., the third overall pick in the draft, had the best game of his young career. HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State Women's Wrestling had 15 individuals compete unattached in the first-ever Bob Smith Women's Open on Sunday (Dec. 3) at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Three Tigers, including Piper Cadden&nbsp;(136), Ashlynn Goodwin&nbsp;(143), and Lila Bloomer&nbsp;(170), won individual titles, part of 12 individuals that earned placement in the tournament.

Goodwin went 4-0 in her 32-person bracket at 143 pounds. She did not surrender a point until the championship match, picking up two 10-0 tech falls in her first two matches of the day and a quick fall in 19 seconds in the semifinals. She knocked off Anastacia Fucci of the Colorado State wrestling club in the championship by a score of 8-2.

Cadden and Bloomer both went 3-0 on the day. Cadden was part of an 8-person bracket at 136 pounds and Bloomer won a 4-person round-robin format at 170 pounds. Both had impressive paths to their individual titles on the day. Cadden surrendered nothing to her opponents on the day with a 10-0 tech fall in the opening round, a pin in 35 seconds in the semifinals, and another 10-0 tech fall in the final over Apollonia Middleton of Colorado Mesa in the final. Bloomer dominated as well, scoring a 13-2 tech fall in her first match, then a pair of pins in 55 seconds and 1:46 to claim the title of the round-robin format. Goodwin, Cadden, and Bloomer gave the Tigers a perfect 3-for-3 performance in matches where an FHSU wrestler reached the finals.

Third-place finishes went to Arianna Ortiz&nbsp;(101) and Katelyn Schmidt&nbsp;(143). Ortiz went 3-1 on the day and dominated in her wins, scoring a 10-0 tech fall in the first round before moving to the consolation bracket with a semifinal loss. She bounced back for another 10-0 tech fall and then pinned her opponent in the consolation final in 3:26. Schmidt went 3-1 on the day as well, scoring a 10-0 tech fall in the first round before getting pinned by the aforementioned Fucci in the semifinals. She bounced back with a 1:35 fall and an 11-3 decision to claim third.

Fourth place finishers for the Tigers were Isabell Ortiz&nbsp;(116), Chloe Mader&nbsp;(155), and Lyndsey Buechman&nbsp;(191). Ortiz was 3-2 on the day in a 32-person bracket, while Mader and Buechman went 2-2 in 8-person brackets. Ortiz scored a tech fall, fall, and decision for her three wins. Mader had a fall and a decision for the day. Buechman's pair of wins were falls, and she came up just short on criteria in a 2-2 tie in her placement match.

Earning fifth-place honors were Hanne Selle&nbsp;(109), Josiah Ortiz&nbsp;(116), Gabby Hampton&nbsp;(123), and Addision Broxterman&nbsp;(136). Selle, Ortiz, and Broxterman all had two wins on the day, while Hampton picked up one. Though she didn't place, Noelle Peters&nbsp;also picked up a win on the day.

🤼‍♀️ Three champs, 12 placers for FHSU women at inaugural Bob Smith Women’s Open

LAWRENCE, Kan. –&nbsp;Making their second bowl appearance in as many seasons, the Kansas Jayhawks will play the UNLV Rebels in the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, December 26. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. CT inside Chase Field – the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks — and will air on ESPN.

The bowl appearance will be Kansas’ 14th&nbsp;in program history, as the Jayhawks make their second consecutive bowl game for just the second time in program history. This year’s Guaranteed Rate Bowl will be Kansas’ second appearance in the bowl, after playing in the 2008 Insight Bowl in Tempe, Arizona, resulting in a 42-21 victory over Minnesota.

Kansas and UNLV will meet for the third time in the series history, as the two teams played in a home-and-home series in 2002 and 2003. Kansas won the most recent meeting in 2003, 46-24, while UNLV won the inaugural matchup in Las Vegas in 2022, 31-20.

The Jayhawks enter the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl with their best regular season record since 2007, finishing 8-4 (5-4 Big 12) in its their third year under head coach Lance Leipold.

Kansas opened the season with a 4-0 start for the second-straight season, rattling off wins against Missouri State (48-17), Illinois (34-23), at Nevada (31-24) and BYU (38-27). Kansas suffered its first lost at No. 3 Texas on Sept. 30, 40-14.

The Jayhawks returned home on Oct. 7 and rushed for 399 yards to defeat UCF, 51-22 for its fifth win. Two weeks later, Kansas defeated No. 6 Oklahoma on Homecoming, 38-33, marking its first win over a top-10 team in Lawrence since 1984, while becoming bowl-eligible for the second consecutive season.

Kansas closed out its regular season with two road wins over its final four games, including a thrilling 28-21 victory over Iowa State in Ames on Nov. 4. Following two-straight losses at home, the Jayhawks completed its regular season with a 49-16 win over Cincinnati on Nov. 25.

The five Big 12 Conference wins for the Jayhawks were the most since the 2007 season, while Kansas reached eight wins for the 15th&nbsp;time in program history.

The Jayhawks will enter the Guaranteed Rate Bowl with the No. 4 total defense in the Big 12, allowing an average of 377.6 yards per game. Kansas’ offense averages 33.6 points per game, which enters bowl game ranked 29th&nbsp;nationally.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – For the first time in school history, K-State Nation is headed to Florida for a bowl game, as Kansas State officials announced Sunday afternoon that the Wildcats have accepted an invitation to play No. 18 NC State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl inside Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game will take place on Tuesday, December 28 at 4:45 p.m. (CT) and will air on ESPN.

K-State will be playing in the state of Florida for just the seventh time ever and the first since a 28-24 victory at Miami on September 24, 2011.

"We are thrilled to represent the Big 12 Conference in the Pop-Tarts Bowl," said K-State head coach Chris Klieman, the first head coach in school history to lead his team to four bowl games in his first five seasons. "I am proud of our team, especially our seniors, and our staff for keeping their heads down and grinding through this season. Kansas State's eight-win regular season makes the Wildcats the only current Big 12 team with a three-year streak of winning at least eight games, while they are one of only 11 Power 5 teams to claim that feat. K-State's four losses in 2023 were by a combined 21 points as its 5.25 average margin of defeat this season is the smallest among three- and four-loss Power 5 teams.

Additionally, K-State enters bowl season as one of just 11 Power 5 teams ranked in the top 30 in both scoring offense (37.8 points per game) and scoring defense (21.2 points per game), as the Wildcats rank second in the Big 12 in each of those categories.

Kansas State opened the 2023 campaign with a pair of home wins over SEMO and Troy – the latter being an 11-win Sun Belt Conference Champion – by a combined score of 87-13. The Wildcats closed non-conference play with a 30-27 loss at Missouri on an SEC-record 61-yard field goal, which propelled the Tigers throughout the season as they finished ninth in the final College Football Playoff Top 25. Missouri will face Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.

The Wildcats opened Big 12 play with a 44-31 home victory over UCF but dropped a 29-21 Friday-night contest at Oklahoma State, a team that went on to play for the Big 12 Championship.

Sitting at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in Big 12 play, K-State won five of its final seven games, which included a road win at Texas Tech (38-21), back-to-back blowouts of TCU (41-3) and Houston (41-0), a 34-point victory over Baylor (59-25) and a come-from-behind 31-27 victory at then-No. 25 Kansas, the Wildcats' 15th-straight victory over its in-state rival.

The first of just two losses over the final half of the season was at Texas, a game in which K-State battled back from a 27-7 deficit to force overtime before eventually falling to the playoff-bound Longhorns, 33-30. The other loss was a 42-35 home setback to Iowa State in a snowy battle in the final regular-season game.

K-State and NC State will meet on the gridiron for the first time ever, while it will be the Wildcats' first game against a current ACC member since a 52-13 home victory over Miami. 🏈 K-State to play in Pop-Tarts Bowl against NC State

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Fort Hays State track and field team recorded a pair of NCAA Division II qualifying marks and took home three first-place finishes Saturday in Topeka, Kan. The Tigers also competed in the Shocker Multis on Friday in Wichita.

The Shocker Multi witnessed Hadley Williams&nbsp;of the FHSU women claim 8th place in the pentathlon with a total of 2895 points, her new personal best. Kylin Rudzik&nbsp;followed closely with her personal best of 2619 points, securing the 10th spot.

In Topeka, the 400m dash saw a strong performance by Reba Mader, who powered her way to third place with a time of 59.18. Kinley Brown&nbsp;followed closely, securing the fourth spot with a time of 59.72. The middle-distance events saw Hattie Lukert&nbsp;claim second in the 800m Run, finishing with a time of 2:26.04.

Faith Little&nbsp;left her mark in the 1,000m run, claiming the third position with a time of 3:03.30.&nbsp;

Annabeth Baalmann&nbsp;and Kaitlin Lindstrom&nbsp;placed third and fourth respectively in the pole vault with clearances of 11-9.75 and 10-10. Jayme Hagerman showcased her skills in the triple jump, securing fourth with a distance of 37-0.50 feet.

Shifting the focus to the men, Hayden Albright&nbsp;dominated in the 400 meters by winning in a time of 48.52 seconds. He was one of two Tiger men to meet the national qualifying standard Saturday. Nathaniel Hubbard and Avrey Albright claimed the fourth and fifth positions in the same event with times of 50.15 and 50.36. In the 60m dash prelims, Eddie McVay&nbsp;was able to advance to the final with a time of 7.05. He improved in the final with a time of 7.00 for seventh place.

In the mile run, Ethan Fisher&nbsp;emerged victorious with a time of 4:22.80. Ethan Lang&nbsp;left all but two runners in the dust in the 600y run, securing the third spot with a time of 1:11.04. In the 1,000m run Trevor Medina&nbsp;secured second with a time of 2:26.23. The high jump saw Dayton Wiliams&nbsp;finish fifth with a clearance of 6-6.75.

Jacob Clark&nbsp;secured the second NCAA qualifying mark of the day with a 16'8.75" clearance, which won the pole vault. Brady Deges&nbsp;(15'3.5") and Kurtis McCormick&nbsp;(14'3.5") were also among the top five in the event.

The squads will travel to Pittsburg, Kan. to compete in the Boo Rodgers Combined Events (Dec. 8) as well as Crimson &amp; Gold Invitational (Dec. 9). The FHSU track and field team will also send athletes to the UNK Pre-Holiday Classic in Kearney, Neb.

 </figure>FHSU AthleticsTOPEKA, Kan. - The Fort Hays State track and field team recorded a pair of NCAA Division II qualifying marks and took home three first-place finishes Saturday in Topeka, Kan. The Tigers also competed in the Shocker Multis on Friday in Wichita.The Shocker Multi witnessed Hadley Williams&nbsp;of the FHSU women claim 8th place in the pentathlon with a total of 2895 points, her new personal best. Kylin Rudzik&nbsp;followed closely with her personal best of 2619 points, securing the 10th spot.In Topeka, the 400m dash saw a strong performance by Reba Mader, who powered her way to third place with a time of 59.18. Kinley Brown&nbsp;followed closely, securing the fourth spot with a time of 59.72. The middle-distance events saw Hattie Lukert&nbsp;claim second in the 800m Run, finishing with a time of 2:26.04.Faith Little&nbsp;left her mark in the 1,000m run, claiming the third position with a time of 3:03.30.&nbsp;Annabeth Baalmann&nbsp;and Kaitlin Lindstrom&nbsp;placed third and fourth respectively in the pole vault with clearances of 11-9.75 and 10-10. Jayme Hagerman showcased her skills in the triple jump, securing fourth with a distance of 37-0.50 feet.Shifting the focus to the men, Hayden Albright&nbsp;dominated in the 400 meters by winning in a time of 48.52 seconds. He was one of two Tiger men to meet the national qualifying standard Saturday. Nathaniel Hubbard and Avrey Albright claimed the fourth and fifth positions in the same event with times of 50.15 and 50.36. In the 60m dash prelims, Eddie McVay&nbsp;was able to advance to the final with a time of 7.05. He improved in the final with a time of 7.00 for seventh place.In the mile run, Ethan Fisher&nbsp;emerged victorious with a time of 4:22.80. Ethan Lang&nbsp;left all but two runners in the dust in the 600y run, securing the third spot with a time of 1:11.04. In the 1,000m run Trevor Medina&nbsp;secured second with a time of 2:26.23. 🏃‍♂️ FHSU opens indoor season in Wichita and Topeka

HAYS, Kan. - The 25th-ranked Fort Hays State men's wrestling team racked up five podium finishes Saturday (Dec. 2) at the 2023 Bob Smith Open. Drew Bell&nbsp;(141 pounds) and Riah Ostrander&nbsp;(285 pounds) both finished third, while Tony Caldwell&nbsp;(285 pounds) picked up a fourth-place finish and both Tereus Henry&nbsp;(197 pounds) and Connor Padgett&nbsp;(174 pounds) both finished fifth.

Bell picked up an 11-0 major decision against a wrestler from Oklahoma State before reeling off a pair of pins to reach the semifinals, including a second-round pin in just 32 seconds, the fastest by a Tiger so far this season. He fell in the semis to another OSU Cowboy before winning 10-9 in the consolation semifinals and by no contest in the third-place match.

Bell's three bonus-point wins were tied with Henry and Matthew Rodriguez&nbsp;for the most on the team on Saturday. Henry, the third-ranked wrestler in Division II at 197 pounds, opened the day with a trio of technical falls before dropping back-to-back matches in the consolation bracket. Rodriguez turned in a 3-2 afternoon at 184 pounds with one pin and two major decisions.

Wrestling unattached, Ostrander reached the semifinals after an opening-round pin and two shutout decisions in the second round and quarterfinals. He fell in the semis to the eventual champion before defeating fellow Tiger Caldwell in the third-place match, 4-2.Caldwell also stumbled against the eventual champion at 285 pounds before reeling off a major decision and a pair of decisions in the consolation bracket to reach the third-place match.

Padgett&nbsp;was 3-1 before bowing out due to injury, picking up a technical fall and a pin before reaching the semifinals thanks to an injury default.

Five other Tigers picked up multiple bonus-point wins on the day, including a pair of pins from A.B. Stokes&nbsp;in his first action as a Tiger (unattached). Camden Padgett&nbsp;also recorded two pins in the championship bracket to reach the quarterfinals, while Hunter Harris&nbsp;tallied one technical fall and one major decision. Kevin Honas&nbsp;tallied a pin and one major decision, with D'Andre Brown&nbsp;recording two major decisions on the day.

The Tigers will return to action in two weeks when they travel to Indianapolis for the Midwest Classic December 16-17.

Millwood took an eight point lead into the locker room and added to that lead until they took a 45-30 advantage. The Indians cut the deficit down to ten several times in the fourth but could not get any closer falling 70-55.

Jack Weimer scored 20 for a second consecutive game making 13 of 14 free throws. Dawson Ruder scored a career high 14. Izaac Fox had 10 rebounds. Millwood put four in double figures.

Girls&nbsp; Olathe West 60, Hays 34

Olathe West never trailed as they use an 11-0 run in the first quarter to grab control of the championship game winning 60-34. Hays had the ball twice when the game was tied at four but couldn't take the lead.,&nbsp;

West built their lead to 20 in the second quarter before heading into the locker room with a 31-13 lead.&nbsp;

Hays outscored West by two in the second half but never could make a push to close the gap.

Hays ends the Shootout with a 2-1 record and will host Manhattan on Tuesday. Manhattan also went 2-1 in Hays. Olathe West is 3-0 and claims their first Shootout championship after two prior runner-up finishes.

The Hillcats hit 11 of their first 14 3-point attempts in the game, producing the most points in a game by a Tiger opponent this season so far. FHSU moved to 5-2 overall, 1-1 in the MIAA, while RSU improved to 3-2 overall, 2-0 in the MIAA.

Three-point shooting was the big difference maker in the game for Rogers State, since both teams had 27 field goals made. RSU had 11 threes made compared to just three for FHSU. The Hillcats also made five more free throws in the game to account for the 13-point final spread. Both teams turned the ball over 16 times and RSU had a slight advantage in rebounds, 21-19.Rogers State created its separation from the Tigers with a 10-0 run in a span of 1:49 on the clock in the first half, taking a 10-point lead after the teams played to a 23-23 tie. A few moments later, the Hillcats went on an 8-0 run to get the lead out to 18 before eventually leading by 16 at the half.

The closest the Tigers got in the second half was a 10-point margin at the 14:48 and 13:56 marks. But the Hillcats managed to hold their double-digit lead throughout the entirety of the second half. Their largest lead of the game was 21 points with a little over three minutes to go in the game.
