He was born August 1, 1972, in Hays to Gordon and Diane (Gerstner) Steckline. Sean was working as a Maintenance Technician for Main Event in Kansas City. He was a graduate of Hays High and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and pool. He is survived by his parents Gordon and Diane of Hays; a brother, Kurtis Steckline of Hays; a sister, Tacey Steckline of Hays; a nephew, Joshua Labandeira and three nieces, Bailey Steckline, Hailey Zeman and Lilly Zeman. The family moved to Healy, Kansas where Vicki thrived in all the clubs and sports a small town country girl could be involved in. She eloped with Robert W. Ellis on August 11, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bob passed away September 27, 1988. Later she married Larry J. Enfield, Sr. on May 25, 1990. Larry passed away May 19, 2013. Vicki considered herself a lucky woman to have two great loves of her life. She and Bob raised 3 children and stayed busy with their activities and enjoyed ski trips to Breckenridge, Colorado. When Vicki married Larry Enfield, she gained a special son, Larry Joe. Vicki graduated from Healy High School in 1960 and later received her degree in nursing from Fort Hays State University in 1964. She worked in many settings with her nursing career; Hays Hospital, Norton Hospital, Andbe Home, Norton, Lenora, and Almena Schools, Colby Community College Instructor, Norton State Hospital, and Valley Hope.She loved flowers and working outdoors. She had a wide interest in the beautification of Norton. The good Lord may have gotten a greeting followed with "You need more flowers" by the pearly gates. She enjoyed following her children's activities, walking, golf, bridge, traveling, and gardening. Vicki took great pride in her professional career and community involvement. She was a member of the Norton City Council, Norton Beautification Committee, PEO Sisterhood Chapter AA, Lifetime member FHSU Half Century Club, Lifetime member FHSU Alumni Association, Prairie Dog Recreation Center Ladies Golf, Bluejay Booster, The Order of the Eastern Star, The Daughters of Rebekah, Dinner Dance, and several bridge clubs. She would be "tickled to death" that you're all here for her. Vicki loved to entertain. She loved elegance and class. She passed on her love of British Royalty and First Ladies to her daughter. To her sons she passed on her love of football. You could count on beautiful decor and good food when you visited her home. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob; eldest brother, Larri Lee; her parents, F. Raymond and Lola; her in laws, Ray and Helen Ellis, and Mae Enfield; her second husband Larry. He was born May 25, 1944, in Lebanon, KS, to Jacob and Magdalen (Geist) Pfannenstiel. On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Susan Bittel at St. Mary’s Church in Ellis, KS. Bill’s education included a BA in political science from Fort Hays State University in 1966 and a BS in education from University of Kansas in 1968. When he finished his degree at KU he served in the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Base in San Antonio, TX from 1968-1972, working with Project 100,000. After leaving the Air Force, Bill completed his Masters in Librarianship at Emporia State University. In 1973, he began his library career at Pittsburg High School.&nbsp;He also worked at Independence Community College and served as Reference Librarian at NEO A&amp;M College in Miami, OK. He concluded his career at Axe Library, Pittsburg State University, retiring in 2008. Bill had many interests and projects.&nbsp;He was involved with hosting PSU international students and helped with International Friends of Pittsburg.&nbsp;For the past 11 years he volunteered with Meals on Wheels.&nbsp;He and Cynthia cared for numerous rescued dogs and cats, enjoyed birding and outdoor activities.&nbsp;He enjoyed reading, working on improvements to the homestead, and landscaping. Bill was known for his generosity, kindness, and a profound respect for all life.He had a special loyalty and love for his friends and his family, especially for his beloved wife of 54 years. In addition to his wife, Cynthia, he is survived by a brother Gary Pfannenstiel and wife Claudia of Denver, CO, a sister Marge Bailey of Berryton, KS, and a sister Mary Forrester of Salina, KS. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, November 8, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Jerome Spexarth as celebrant.&nbsp; The family suggests memorials be given to the S.E.K. Brian Friesen, 36, of Colby, died Saturday, November 16, 2019. He was born October 11, 1983, in Colby, Kansas, to Jon and Ann Friesen. He graduated from Colby High School in May 2002 and from Kansas State University in May 2007, with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Brian was a devoted father and loving son, farming with his mother and father on their grain farm in Colby. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Juanita Friesen and Will and Elaine Sander. He is survived by his children, Riley, Colin and Dylan, of Colby; parents, Jon and Ann Friesen, of Colby; sisters, Ashley Bridgeman (Jeremy, of Newton, Kansas and Katie Friesen, of Ames, Iowa and niece and nephews, Izzie, Aiden and Thomas Bridgeman, of Newton, Kansas. Duane was born January 12, 1938 in Fairport, Kansas.&nbsp;He was one of two sons born to Irvin Fred and Ruby Pearl (Finch) Miller.&nbsp;He grew up and attended schools in Fairport and Natoma, Kansas.&nbsp;He graduated from Natoma High School. Duane served his country in the U.S. Marines.&nbsp;After his service was completed he returned to the Russell area. Duane was united in marriage to Donnie Jean Martin on June 11, 1960 in Russell.&nbsp;This union was blessed with three children; David, Dru and Micah. Duane and Donnie made their home in Topeka, Kansas where Duane worked in the transportation department of Santa Fe Railroad.&nbsp;A few years later Duane and Donnie moved to Scranton, KS, where they built and operated a dairy farm and Duane became Mayor. After selling the Dairy Farm they moved to Arkansas City, Kansas for a brief time before moving to Owosso, Michigan, where Duane was involved in the Railroad once again.&nbsp;A new job opportunity came up in Opelousas, Louisiana where Duane was the manager of transportation for Lou-Ana Foods Company for 20 years.&nbsp;In 2002 Duane retired the family moved to Russell and he began to farm&nbsp;as a hobby. In 2012, Duane formed Miller-Becker Enterprises, in which he was co-owner and operator.&nbsp;Donnie preceded him in death on January 19, 2015.&nbsp; Duane attended the Bible Baptist Church in Russell.&nbsp;He also enjoyed boating and fishing, coaching his children’s sporting activities and has been very active in his grandchildren’s lives.&nbsp;He was a supporter of the Fine Arts when his grandchildren were involved. Making memories with his family was his greatest joy. Duane’s surviving family include his daughter, Micah Becker (Ryan) of Russell, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Jenna Miller of Gorham, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, Elijah and Silas Becker and Connor, Christian, Janessa, Malachi, Matthias and Jenson Miller.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donnie, sons David Miller and Dru Miller, and brother Ben Miller. She was born September 3, 1959, in Denver, Colorado to Luke Steinman Jr. and Wilda Jean (Chinn) Steinman.&nbsp; Melinda married Ronald D. Sporing on October 15, 1982 in Yuma, Colorado. Melinda and Ron lived between Goodland, KS, Denver, and parts of Eastern Colorado before settling in Haxtun, CO for 25 years.&nbsp;They then lived on farms near Holyoke, CO and Imperial, NE before moving to Colby, KS in March of 2019.&nbsp;In addition to caring for the many family members and friends that came into her life, Melinda was a paraeducator assisting those with special needs. Melinda is survived by her husband, Ronald D. He was a fighter his whole life, overcoming countless obstacles and always believing that he could prevail. “If man made it, I can fix it” was his moniker. Bill adored his wife Vicky, his two children and four grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors: scouting, camping, boating, hunting, and spending time with family. He was born in St. Francis, Kansa,s to Lucile (Hirscheler) Auman. Bill graduated Wichita Heights in 1963. He married his high school sweetheart and gorgeous wife, Vicky (Sweasy) Auman, on May 8, 1965, in Wichita, KS. They moved to Hays, Kansas, in 1975, and started The Auman Company Plumbing, Heating and Air. Bill worked long hours, alongside Vicky, to build a thriving business. They sold the business upon retirement and moved to Newton, Kansas, to be closer to friends and siblings. In Newton, Bill became a Master Gardener and worked diligently at the Harvey County Master Gardeners Community Garden. He prided himself on the tens of thousands of pounds of produce raised to feed those in need in Harvey County. In late spring 2019, Bill and Vicky moved to Manhattan to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Bill loved visits with grandchildren at Meadowlark Hills’ Wroten House where he lived for the last six months of his life. Throughout his life, Bill put others before himself. He had a passion for sharing his expertise and growing and developing others. He leaves behind wife, Vicky; children, son Troy (and Erin) Auman, and daughter D.C. (and Jeremiah) Hackerott; and grandchildren Riley and Caleb Auman, and Uriah and Jaina Hackerott. He joins his mother Lucile Auman, his sister Luella Petrillo, and his brother-in-law and best friend Larry Sweasy. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 6:30 pm at Yorgensen Meloan Londeen (YML) Funeral home in Manhattan, KS. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov 21 at 10 am at YML with burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Park on Highway 24, east of Manhattan. Leona was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas. On June 3, 1947 she married Edwin Nicholas Billinger in Garden City, Kansas.&nbsp;They later separated and Edwin passed away on August 30, 2003 in Tribune, Kansas. Leona’s surviving family includes her Three Children -&nbsp;Lila Billinger of Garden City, Kansas,&nbsp;David Billinger of&nbsp;Temple, Texas,&nbsp;Edwin L. &amp; Kathy Billinger of LaCygne, Kansas,&nbsp;One sister -&nbsp;Maggie Carter of Aurora, Colorado,&nbsp;Four grandchildren and&nbsp;Five great grandchildren. Her parents, a daughter, Loretta J. Billinger and four siblings, Joseph Dinkel, Mary Woods, Regina Wendt and Clarence Dinkel precede her in death. She was born December 6, 1922 in Tulia, Texas the daughter of the late David and Josephine (Payne) Wadlington. Lee is survived by two daughters; Cherry Bell and husband, Ron of Colby, Kansas, and Jill Timken and husband, Robert of St. Louis, Missouri and a daughter-in-law; Roslyn Hicks-Foster of Texas. Also surviving are six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lee was preceded in death by her first husband, Jay C. Hicks (1939-1960) and her second husband, Otto Horton (1961-1996, her son Larry Jay Hicks (1942-1986) and a grandson, Jon Michael Timken (1967-1984). She was also preceded in death by four brothers; Albert, Arch, Virgil and Arlie Wadlington and three sisters; Verma Johnston, Myrtle Lois Wadlington, and Willie Roberts. Lee was active in the Pleasant Home Church during the years her family was growing up. She was a 4-H leader, a youth group leader at church as well as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Missouri before coming to live at The Baptist Home in 2006. Cory moved every few years for 16 years of his life, before his father retired from the Air Force in 1992 and moved the family to Wakeeney.&nbsp;After graduating High School in 1994, Cory had quite a few different jobs ranging from Machining, Welding, Construction, and Farming. In his spare time he really enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending all of his time with his dog Buddy.&nbsp; Survivors include, two brothers, Lance and wife Mu of Pasadena, Maryland, Gary and wife Kristin of Steamboat Springs Colorado; sister, Melanie and husband Aj Shehata, of Junction City Kansas; two nephews, Kennan French, Caidan French; and three nieces Michaella French, Layla Shehata, &amp; Alina Shehata. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Butzbach, Germany, the daughter of Anton and Maria Schlecht.&nbsp;She was educated and graduated from school in Germany.&nbsp;In her younger years she posed as a professional model in Germany.&nbsp; Gudrun married her husband Robert (Bob) Lee McClure in Germany while he served in the Army.&nbsp;The couple’s first son Morgan was born in Germany.&nbsp;After Robert’s service in Germany the family returned to the United States.&nbsp;At Fort Bragg, North Carolina their second son Martin was born.&nbsp;In 1967 Robert brought his family back to live in Goodland, Kansas. Three more children, Carol, Monte, and Cindy, were raised in Goodland.&nbsp;As Robert worked in the family plumbing business Gudrun and Robert raised a blended family that included Kornelia and Mark.&nbsp;Gudrun kept a busy pace passionately caring for her family in all of life’s moments.&nbsp;In addition to her family life, Gudrun took on work as a caregiver both privately and at the Good Samaritan Center.&nbsp; Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings, her husband Robert (Bob) McClure, and one son Martin James McClure. Surviving family includes her daughter Kornelia G. Schields (Gary, son Mark T. Koenig, son Morgan L. McClure (Dawn Carr, daughter Carol L. McClure (Allen Schutte, daughter Cynthia A. Palmquist (Jim, and son Monte J. McClure.&nbsp;She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Matt Schields, Brett Schields, Joshua Koenig, Race McClure, Lake McClure, Celeste Palmquist, Claire Palmquist and Ethan Palmquist; as well as two great grandchildren Weston and Gianna Schields. Gudrun Lisa McClure

<img src="https://media.eaglewebservices.com/public/2019/11/1574198822130.png">Garnett U (White) Angel, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at home, her family by her side and all singing her into Jesus’ arms. Originally from&nbsp;Paradise, KS, she has resided the past 9.5 years in Olathe, KS.&nbsp;She was born, June 28, 1927, in the Great Divide, Colorado area near the town of Craig to Charles J W White and Ula A (Bartlett) White. She was the third of six children growing upon the frontier plains. At the age of 6, the family moved back to Kansas on a farm near Paradise where she attended all 12 grades of school graduating from Paradise High School with the Class of 1945.&nbsp;She married the love of her life, John S. Angel, who happened to be the neighbor down the road!&nbsp;They were married May 19, 1945. Together they raised their two children, Janette and Gene, they farmed and built a new home a few years later living 2 miles west of Paradise for almost 60 years.&nbsp; Around 1955, she began working with neighbors, Henry and Vera Post, out of their home as the H.L. Post Insurance Service. In 1969, she and John purchased major shares of stock in the now Post Insurance, Inc agency.&nbsp;As the agency grew with more staff, a new office was constructed in beautiful downtown Paradise. In January 1978, John and Garnett (owners) with their two children, Gene and Janette and Janette’s husband, Richard,&nbsp;Garnett’s cousin, Vernita Scott, along with Henry and Vera Post moved into the new building. The agency motto until 1994, when they sold the business, was “Angel’s Provide Protection”! She&nbsp;continued working as a Tax Accountant in her home and later in Natoma with Angel-Cook&nbsp;Accounting Services after selling the agency.&nbsp;Finally, at the age of 83, she retired and moved to Olathe, KS to be near her daughter and family. Garnett was a lifelong member of the Paradise United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School many years.&nbsp;She was on the Administrative Council keeping the financial records of the church. Served as President of the UMW and held many offices within the church. Garnett and John were both youth group leaders of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship while their children were in Junior High and high school. She was an active Member of the Order of Eastern Star in Natoma, later in Russell and finally in Hays. She&nbsp;and John presided over the Natoma Lodge as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron in the early 1960’s!&nbsp;Upon arriving in Olathe, she attended the Church of the Resurrection West and attended the Monday Morning Bible Study!&nbsp;The Angel’s were members of the Paradise Pitch Club for over fifty years and the local Bridge Club. They enjoyed traveling abroad to many exciting places including Hawaii, Oberammergau in Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Egypt, Russia, Azores, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Italy and England as well as every state in the union! She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Janette (Richard) Ross of Olathe, Gene (Lynn) Angel of Paradise. Seven grandchildren and their spouses, Michele (Russ) Hess of Cleveland, MO; Jeff (Sara) Hagerman of Olathe; Brian (Brandy) Angel of Paradise; Travis (Natalie) Angel of Indianapolis, IN; Andrea (Dallas) Herreman of Hays; Mason (Chelsea) Angel of Russell; and Ryan Cook of Paradise. Ten great-grandchildren: Trenton (Diana) Frimmel of Emporia; Haley Jo Peterka of Grandview, MO; Cameron, Conner and Kyle Hagerman of Olathe; Beau Angel of Hays; Alice Angel of Indianapolis, IN; Tana, Kaden and&nbsp;Gage Herreman of Hays and one great-great grandson, Ryker Morris. Garnett is also survived by one brother Dr. Vernon (Merilyn) White, DVM of Wichita and a host of nieces and nephews! In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Parsons, 3 brothers Dale, Ivan and Forrest White.&nbsp; A celebration of Garnett's life will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, November 22, 20219, at the Paradise United Methodist Church in Paradise, Kansas, with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth officiating.&nbsp;Viewing will take place from 10 A.M. to service time on Friday.&nbsp;A luncheon will take place at the church immediately following the church service.&nbsp;Memorials may be given to the Paradise United Methodist Church and sent in care of the mortuary.&nbsp;Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.

Garnett U. (White) Angel

<img src="https://media.eaglewebservices.com/public/2019/11/1574197420102.png">Robert Glen Ulrich, 66 of Garden City, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at his home in Garden City. He was born January 20, 1953 in Phillipsburg, Kansas the son of Glen Earl &amp; Betty Loraine (Van Allen) Ulrich. Robert worked in the oilfield business in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Nebraska for more than 30 years. He retired in 2019 from Helena Chemical in Garden City. Robert enjoyed NASCAR, NHRA racing, and college sports, especially KU. He loved animals, especially his cats Stubbs and Abby. Survivors include a son Derek Ulrich of Lawrence, Kansas; a sister Rhonda Williams and husband Steve of Baileyville, Kansas; a brother Roger and wife Elsa Ulrich of Wichita, Kansas; Step-father Jim Ham of Rio Hondo, Texas; Step-sisters Karrie Gonzales and Dana Gray both of Wichita, Kansas; a step-brother Craig Ham of Wichita, Kansas; Nieces and Nephews Andrea Moreland and her children Solomon and Evelyn, and Alisha Steinert and her children Tanner Rexwinkle and Addison Steinert; and Uncle Delbert Dickson of Midland, Texas; and several cousins. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Russell, Kansas. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Robert Glen Ulrich

(Kuhn) Karlin, age 83, of Hays, Kansas died Monday, November 18, 2019.She was born July 10, 1936, in Quinter, Kansas to Paul A. and Josephine (Engel) Kuhn.&nbsp;Anita married Edward J. Karlin on October 26, 1957, in Catharine, Kansas.&nbsp;He preceded her in death on June 6, 2016. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Anthony Hospital and Hays Medical Center for 33 years.&nbsp;She grew up in Grainfield, Kansas, was a 1954 graduate of Jumbo High School in rural Gove County, and was a 1957 graduate of St. Anthony School of Nursing.&nbsp;She and her husband lived on a farm north of Catharine, Kansas until moving to Hays in 1995. She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Marie Wade and husband, Don, Dodge City, KS;Lisa Karlin, Hays, KS; Patti Havel and husband, Corey, Leavenworth, KS; four grandchildren, Taylor Wade and wife, Emma; Samuel Culbreath and wife, Heather; Alex Karlin; and Grant Karlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Martha Culbreath and her husband, Leroy; and one brother, Richard Kuhn. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Anita M. (Kuhn) Karlin

<img src="https://media.eaglewebservices.com/public/2019/11/1574193087335.jpeg">George William Colburn, age 88, of Stockton, died November 18, 2019 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas with his family at his side. He was born on July 24, 1931, in Rooks County, Kansas to George W. Colburn and Emma (Sander) Colburn. He was a lifetime resident of Rooks County and was committed to his community with a deep interest in the people that was a part of it. George graduated from Stockton High School with the class of 1950. Following his graduation he entered into the United States Marines Corps from 1951 until 1953 and the reserves until his honorable discharge in 1959. He served one year in Korea and earned the Korean Service Medal as well as the United Nations Service Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8873. George married Linda (Lemon) Patterson on February 21, 1976 at the Stockton United Methodist Church becoming a father to the three Patterson children; to this union, Timothy was born. George had also adopted his nephew, Harry Cross when Harry was 10 years old. George farmed, owned the Standard Station, as well as operating the farm fuel delivery business he purchased in 1972. As a young man he worked at numerous jobs, always speaking of them in fond remembrance. Included in these was his experience working with Gerald Colburn at the Colburn Locker. George loved his family, his farm animals, and always had a dog companion at his side. He loved to garden and use his little tractor to work the ground. He was a generous man and a gentle giant, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. George was a member of the Stockton United Methodist Church, he renewed his commitment to Christ on November 15, 2019, with his wife at his side. George is survived by his wife, Linda Colburn of the home in Stockton, KS; children, Harry (Winnelle) Colburn of Downs, KS, Tim (Dawnite) Colburn of Stockton, KS, Curtis Patterson and significant other Kim Knouf of Plainville, KS, Susan Patterson (Randy) Friesen of Lexington, KY, and Brad (Brenda) Patterson of Gainesville, GA; a sister, Vesta Miller of Arvada, CO; and eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma Colburn, four sisters, three brothers, and one grandson, Colburn Patterson. George was a hardworking, loving, and dedicated family man. He loved what he did and did what he loved. Although he will be greatly missed, his life, his love, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Isaiah 41:13, God tells us, “I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, and I tell you, ‘Don’t be afraid, I will help you.’” A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Stockton starting at 11:00 AM. George William Colburn

Mick, 84, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019.&nbsp;She was born July 26, 1935 in Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Susanna (Winkel) Arens. She was a retired bookkeeper and artist. Mrs. Mick is preceded in death by her husband, Ardwin in 2011 and siblings, Mary Schmidt, Bill Arens and Tracey Arens. She is survived by her children:&nbsp;Perry J. Mick and wife, Elisabeth, of Newberg, OR, Dianne L. Toplikar and husband, John, of Olathe, Damon M. Mick of Hinesville, GA., Eric S. Barbara A. Mick

Bernard was born on January 12, 1939 to William and Helen (Traxler) Corcoran in Oberlin, KS and was raised on the family farm southwest of Oberlin. Bernard was a farmer and a rancher, and he really enjoyed wood working, hunting, and his horses. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin. On July 5, 1969 he married Marlena Elling and together they had four children; Chris, Sharon, Brian, and Becky. Bernard is survived by his sons: Chris and wife Janice Corcoran of Fort Collins, CO and Brian Corcoran of Hays, KS; daughters: Sharon Corcoran of Goodland, KS and Becky and husband Justin Graham of Norton, KS; brothers: Raymond Corcoran of Oberlin, KS, Robert Corcoran of Pittsburg, PA, and Paul Corcoran of Oberlin, KS; sister: Frances Nothdruft of Gillette, WY; also surviving are 4 granddaughters, a great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was born Aug. 1, 1952, in Hoisington, the daughter of Gilbert J. and Joyce M. (Burkhart) Sander. Becky married Steven Ray Wornkey Sept. 5, 1975, in Great Bend. He survives. Becky, a lifetime resident of Barton County, was currently a homemaker, retiring from Holiday Inn, Great Bend, as the sales and catering manager, and previously worked as a hostess at Kiowa Kitchen. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed Bingo, casinos and music. Survivors include, husband, Steven Ray Wornkey, Sr. of the home; four sons, Shawn Wornkey and husband Mitch of Raleigh, N.C., Steven Ray Wornkey, Jr. of Great Bend, Alan Lee Wornkey and wife Sheri of Great Bend and Chad Dale Wornkey of Great Bend; four sisters, Sharon Fox of Manchester, Mo., Debbie Shank of Hays, Shirley Tomlin of Great Bend and Connie Sander of Black Hawk, Colo; four grandchildren, Blake Stevens Wornkey, Dylan Dakota Wornkey, Heaven Marie Wornkey and Nicholas Ray Wornkey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert J. and Joyce M. Sander; one son, Darren Robert Wornkey; one brother, James Sander; and by one sister, Patricia Michael. Rebecca 'Becky' Wornkey

<img src="https://media.eaglewebservices.com/public/2019/11/1574123455345.jpeg">1956 – 2019 Michael or Mike, as he was known by family and friends, was born September 30, 1956, to Carl H. J. and Rita (Pianalto) Antholz. The 4th of 12 children, he grew up on a farm just west of McDonald. Growing up he participated in 4-H, high school sports:&nbsp;basketball, track and most important football. He also found FFA to be an important activity to him. Mike graduated from McDonald High School in 1973 and then attended Northwest Kansas Vo-Tech in Goodland for auto mechanics. Following school he worked a number of jobs while still living in McDonald including farming, driving school bus, working as an electrician's assistant and also working at a feedlot. On October 14, 1978, he married Margyre Sue Sanders. On August 18, 1981, he became the proud father of Bridgette Desiree, daughter and only child born to the union. In 1982, the family moved to St Francis while Mike was still working for the feedlot. In 1983, he began a 30 year career as a heavy equipment operator for the Cheyenne County Road and Bridge Department ending in 2013. During this time he also served as and EMT for the Cheyenne County EMS for over 10 years. Things Mike enjoyed included beekeeping, hunting and fishing with family and friends, refereeing basketball with his brother Eric and he was a member of the McDonald Lions Club. In more recent years he was very active in Knights of Columbus:&nbsp;he was the local Grand Knight, District Deputy, a 4th Degree Knight and member of the honor guard and in 2007 received the prestigious award of State Knight of the Year. He was also active in the Catholic Church serving on the church council, as Eucharistic Minister, greeter and more. Football was always a love of Mike's even when he was no longer able to play. He organized the St Francis Fantasy Football League or SFFFL where he served as commissioner for over 20 years and, until his recent illness, never missed an NFL game. (When Bridgette's close friend Holly had her daughter Jordyn in December of 2003, the 2 of them became very close...she called him Grandpa Mike and she was his only granddaughter. They spent many a day together when she was young...watching football together, eating out together, took her for rides in the car, birthday parties and more. He even waited to leave this earthly world until she was there with him.) Mike passed away on November 14, 2019 at age 63, at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, following a long battle with his health. &nbsp;He is survived by wife, Margyre; daughter, Bridgette; brother-in-law Francis (Phyllis) Sanders Jr.; sister-in-law Janice (Larry) Cyphers; sister-in-law Babs Antholz; brother Eric (Melody) Antholz; Sisters: Cecilia (Ben) Rasmussen; Kathy (Curt) Russell; Sylvia (Dave) Hubbard; Ann Parcel; Barb (Rod) Murphy; Mary (Leon) Volk; Lisa (Mark) Mertens; Joan (Phil) Grace and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by parents Carl and Rita Antholz; brother Herman; sister Susan; and brother-in-law Duane Parcel. A Memorial Mass for Mike will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10:30 AM CT at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bird City with Fr. Joseph Asirvatham and Fr. Carlos Ruiz officiating.&nbsp;Private family inurnment will be held in the St. Francis Cemetery, St. Francis, KS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM CT with a Vigil and Rosary service to begin at 7:00 PM CT at the Church in Bird City. Memorials may be designated to the Mike Antholz Memorial Fund and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
