Alfred Daniel (A.D.) 'Bud' Rogers Jr.

Alfred Daniel (A.D.) “Bud” Rogers Jr., age 92, died peacefully in his sleep on December 3, 2019 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore, Kansas.


He is survived by his daughters, Margene Greeno, Jennifer Stone and Jacqueline Johansen and his son, Daniel Holland Rogers, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Darlene Steiner Rogers and his daughter, Susan Kay Barney.


Alfred was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 20, 1927 to Alfred Daniel Rogers Sr. and Mary Frances Hedgepeth.


He served his country as a Naval electricians mate on the island of Tinian during WWII and later in the Army. He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for 34 years and received many awards for his safe driving record. He was active in the Jetmore Lion’s Club and Masonic Lodge, serving as the President of the Lion’s Club and Master of Alpha Mason Lodge. He also served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank his friends in Jetmore, and the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center nursing staff, who took such good care of him in his later years. 


Bud will always be remembered for his strong work ethic and fun-loving sense of humor.


Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery with military graveside rites.
