Elizabeth 'Elsie' Marie Hendrickson

Elizabeth “Elsie” Marie Hendrickson, 75, Hays, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.


She was born November 10, 1944, in Hays, the daughter of Edwin J. and Albertine (Kuhn) Munsch. She attended Girls Catholic High School, which became Marian High School, graduating in the class of 1962. 


In 1966, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in business from Fort Hays State University. Elsie worked for Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas for nearly 35 years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed craft shows, bowling, flower gardening, trips to casinos, cooking and baking, and spending time with her grandchildren.


Survivors include her two daughters; Juanita Wickham and husband Troy of Hays and Jacinta Rupp of Savannah, MO, four brothers; Harvey Munsch and wife Cindy and Victor Munsch and wife Joyce, all of Hays, Clarence Munsch and wife Pat of Prairie Village, and Edwin Munsch Jr. of Hays, three sisters; Shirley Huff of Hays, Janice Cheek and husband David of Overland Park, and Agnes Munsch of Wichita, five grandchildren; Jessila, Jay, and Jacob Wickham, and Brett and Seth Ussary, six great grandchildren; Jayden Taylor, Daxton, Darren, Devon, and Dawson Ackerman, and Oliver Wickham, and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister; Patricia Applegate.


Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1805 Vine Street, Hays. Inurnment will be at a later date in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Antonino. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Friday at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, and from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday at the church. A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
