Ernie Lee Killman Jr., 60, passed away July 15, 2022, in Larned.

He was born June 30, 1962, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the son of Ernie Lee and Lynna Linn McHenry Killman.

A longtime area resident, he worked in the oil fields and custom cutting. He loved helicopters and RC cars.

Survivors include: son, Bryan (Mickey) Killman, Ark City; daughter, 
Amber Killman, Udall; brother, Brad Thomas, Enid, Oklahoma; sister, Gina
 (John) Hunter, Larned; fifteen grandchildren; a long list of cousins, 
nieces, and nephews, and his favorite person, Amanda Case, Cimmaron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry Killman and Jack Killman; and a grandson, Braxton Beatty.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Beckwith 
Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Bo Rouse presiding. Visitation will be 9:00
 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary. 
Cremation will follow the service.

Memorials may be given to Pawnee County Humane Society in care of

Shirley Ann Clark, 87, passed away July 14, 2022, at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Pratt.

She was born February 10, 1935, in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Osa Mae Jackson.

A lifetime area resident, she was a physical therapy aide for both 
St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned and Central Kansas Medical Center, 
Great Bend. She was a pet lover and enjoyed watching sports, music, 
working in the community, and spending time with her family, especially 
her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: five sons, Rick (Shuan Wang) Clark, Monrovia, 
California, Edward (Anna) Clark, St. John, Daniel Clark, Lakewood, 
Colorado, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Clark, Larned, Joel Clark, Larned; two 
daughters, Norma (Richard) Hooton, Larned, Sandra Clark, Dodge City; 
twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Osa Mae Jackson, brother, 
Jack Jackson, daughter-in-law Maxine Clark, and one grandchild Caeleb 
Devante Clark.

Graveside service will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Larned
 Cemetery with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 
a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
 Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.

Donald Raymond Schroer, 70, of Colby, died Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 
Citizens Medical Center, Colby. He was born December 15, 1951, in 
Oberlin, KS, to Francis and Erlene (Orr) Schroer. 

In his younger years, 
Donald farmed. He then worked as a mail carrier, until his retirement. 
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid golfer. Donald 
especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. 
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. 
He is survived by his wife, Janelle Schroer; children, Tony (Tara) 
Schroer, Danielle (RJ) Kruse and Chelcie Hamilton; siblings, Alan 
(Linda) Schroer, Ron (Barb) Schroer, Elaine (Johnny) Moellering, Karen 
(Brad) Gregory, Merlin Schroer, Brian (Linda) Schroer and Rhonda 
Schroer; six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. 
A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 
2022, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, with inurnment in Sacred Heart

Hannah Abigail Smith, age 19 months, of Winona, passed away by 
accidental drowning on July 13, 2022, at Children's Mercy Hospital, 
Kansas City, Missouri. Hannah was born on December 6, 2020, to Sam and 
Heather Smith.

Hannah is survived by her parents, Sam and Heather Smith, her 
brothers: Levi, Eli, Andrew, Isaac, and Matthew Smith, all of Winona; 
grandparents: Dan and Ruth Smith of Winona, Shawn and Shelly Plummer of 
Winona, and Kenneth and Tiffany Martin of Oakley. Also surviving are 
many aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Shirley LaVonne Treaster, 82, passed away July 16, 2022, at Prairie 
Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie, KS.&nbsp; She was born December 18, 1939, in 
Great Bend, KS, to Harold and Iva Jane (Southern) Waggoner.

Shirley was a graduate of Buhler High School, Buhler, KS.

On July 12, 1972, Shirley married Darrell LaVerne Treaster, in 
Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; They shared over 47 years of marriage, prior to his 
death on July 19, 2019.

She is survived by:&nbsp; her children, Tommy Treaster of Baldwin City, 
KS, Mark (Mary) Treaster of Pretty Prairie, KS, and Cyndi (Sandy 
Jacquot) Treaster of Lecompton, KS; daughter-in-law, Toni Wood of 
Houston, TX; eight grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents; husband; son, Steven Treaster; and brother, Don Waggoner.

Charles William 'Bill' Campbell

Michelin “Mich” Louise (Fabrizius) Fiske, 73, of Salina, passed away 
Friday, July 15, 2022, in Minneapolis, Kansas. She was born June 15, 
1949, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Leona (Sommerfield) 
Fabrizius. Mich graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1967. On 
November 8, 1982, she was united in marriage to Kenneth “Kenny” Fiske, 
and the couple made their home in Salina.

She collected dear friends everywhere she went, from her workplaces 
to her time at the Elks, GreatLife and the Smoky Hill River Festival. 
Holidays spent with her mom, siblings, nieces and nephews, children, and
 grandkids were always a treasured time for her. In her free time, she 
frequented local department stores and was especially sad when Dillards 
closed but found a new favorite when Marshall’s came to town, never 
wanting to miss a bargain. Her love for KU basketball and slot machines 
was only surpassed by her love for her grandkids.&nbsp;

Mich is survived by her husband, Kenny of Salina; a daughter, Amber 
Hanson (Scott) of Concordia, Kansas; three sons, J.B. Fiske (Mandy) of 
Enterprise, Kansas, Rick Fiske (Sheri) of Bennington, Kansas and Jason 
Fiske of Elwood, Nebraska; her mother, Leona Fabrizius of Minneapolis, 
Kansas; three brothers, Don Fabrizius (Wendy) of Niles, Kansas, Steve 
Fabrizius of Minneapolis, Kansas, and Mike Fabrizius (Tami) of 
Minneapolis, Kansas; a sister, Kathy Nash (Marty) of Minneapolis, 
Kansas; grandchildren, Melissa, Kate, Maddy, Chase, Cade, Cobey, 
Quenton, Abby, Haddie, Brynna, and Callie; and three 
great-grandchildren.

Mich is preceded in death by her father, Herman Fabrizius; a grandson, Sidney Fiske; and a nephew, Aaron Fiske.&nbsp;

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, at Ryan Mortuary,
 Salina, with family receiving friends from 6-8. Funeral services for 
Mich will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at First United Methodist 
Church of Salina. A private burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, 
Salina.

Michelin 'Mich' Louise (Fabrizius) Fiske

Paul E. Pletcher, 98, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center, KS. 
 Paul was born to William F (Bill) and Emma (Barcus) Pletcher on 
October 5, 1923, in the Crystal Plains area.&nbsp; He was number nine of ten 
children.&nbsp; After serving in World War II, he married the love of his 
life Ginger Gregory on September 28, 1948. &nbsp;Four children were born to 
them. Paul accepted the Lord and was baptized at the Grace 
Brethren Church in Portis, Kansas in 1953.&nbsp; He loved the Lord and 
serving God.&nbsp; Paul attended Central Community Church up until his 
death.&nbsp; He loved attending his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s school and sporting events. 
 After Paul retired from farming he and Ginger loved to travel with 
their 5th wheel trailer.&nbsp; They were members of the US Center and Picnic 
Ants camping clubs.&nbsp; He was very involved in church and many community 
organizations.&nbsp; Paul loved woodworking and spent many hours building 
projects with his grandchildren and built cedar chests for his 
granddaughters.&nbsp; He built tables, kitchen islands and many other things 
for his children.&nbsp; He was very skilled and built pieces for furniture 
for Ginger. Paul had farming in his blood so after retirement
 he worked for the Doane family in Downs helping with harvest.&nbsp; He loved
 driving truck for them and only stopped when he said “his brain said he
 could drive but his body said he couldn’t." Paul is preceded in death by his parents and eight of his siblings. 
 He is survived in death by his wife Ginger of 72 years, his children 
Robert and wife Sharon of Mount Vernon, TX, Vicki Hutchison and husband 
Mike of Cedar, KS, Gayle Pletcher of Topeka, KS and Sandi Tucker and 
husband Gregg of Portis, KS, eleven grandchildren, nine 
great-grandchildren and his sister Roma (Pletcher) Caldwell of Portis,

 </figure>Paul E. Pletcher, 98, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center, KS. 
 Paul was born to William F (Bill) and Emma (Barcus) Pletcher on 
October 5, 1923, in the Crystal Plains area.&nbsp; He was number nine of ten 
children.&nbsp; After serving in World War II, he married the love of his 
life Ginger Gregory on September 28, 1948. &nbsp;Four children were born to 
them. Paul accepted the Lord and was baptized at the Grace 
Brethren Church in Portis, Kansas in 1953.&nbsp; He loved the Lord and 
serving God.&nbsp; Paul attended Central Community Church up until his 
death.&nbsp; He loved attending his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s school and sporting events. 
 After Paul retired from farming he and Ginger loved to travel with 
their 5th wheel trailer.&nbsp; They were members of the US Center and Picnic 
Ants camping clubs.&nbsp; He was very involved in church and many community 
organizations.&nbsp; Paul loved woodworking and spent many hours building 
projects with his grandchildren and built cedar chests for his 
granddaughters.&nbsp; He built tables, kitchen islands and many other things 
for his children.&nbsp; He was very skilled and built pieces for furniture 
for Ginger. Paul had farming in his blood so after retirement
 he worked for the Doane family in Downs helping with harvest.&nbsp; He loved
 driving truck for them and only stopped when he said “his brain said he
 could drive but his body said he couldn’t." Paul is preceded in death by his parents and eight of his siblings. 
 He is survived in death by his wife Ginger of 72 years, his children 
Robert and wife Sharon of Mount Vernon, TX, Vicki Hutchison and husband 
Mike of Cedar, KS, Gayle Pletcher of Topeka, KS and Sandi Tucker and 
husband Gregg of Portis, KS, eleven grandchildren, nine 
great-grandchildren and his sister Roma (Pletcher) Caldwell of Portis, 
KS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, 
July 19, 2022, at New Covenant Church, 117 W. Kansas St., Smith Center, 
KS, with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating.&nbsp; Visitation will be held on

Paul E. Pletcher

Arnold Lee Reitan, 64, passed away on July 9, 2022, at his home in Ransom, Kansas.  He was born on June 6, 1958, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Arnold and Hilda (Neves) Reitan.

Arnold lived in Ness County for nine years working for Gabel Lease and Aeroswint, coming from Las Vegas where he worked as a commercial plumber.

Survivors include his brother, Alvin F. (Bleau) Reitan of Ransom; 2 sisters, Ardean of Florida, and Joyce of California; 5 nephews and nieces, Aaron, Frances, Nicci, Paula, and Anna; 5 great-nieces and nephews, Myah, Makayla, Marcos, Zoe, and Augustus. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ransom Fire Department.

Jerome G. “Cowboy” Deines, 87, passed away July 14, 2022, at 
Medicalodges of Great Bend. He was born on August 2, 1934, in Hays, Kan.
 to Bernhardt &amp; Josephine (Krug) Deines. He married Dolores "June" 
Norris April 12, 1953, in Russell, Kan.&nbsp; She died April 17, 2017.

A longtime resident of Pauls Valley, Okla., Cowboy also resided in 
Great Bend and Russell, Kan., for many years. The oil field being 
Cowboy’s life passion, he was the owner and operator of Cowboys Oil 
Field Products, Bronco Supply and MJR Investments, and was a member of 
the Masonic Lodge. Cowboy enjoyed raising his cattle and race horses. 
&nbsp;He and June loved to spend time traveling with friends. &nbsp;When he saw 
someone in need he always stepped up to help. &nbsp;Cowboy worked hard and 
liked to celebrate life.&nbsp;

Survivors include, his son, Jerry Deines of Pauls Valley, Okla.; two 
daughters, Connie Cale and husband Chet of Great Bend, Kan. and Raelene 
Steinert of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Steve Deines of Russell, Kan.; six
 grandchildren, Nicole Helfrich, Autumn Cale, Callie Cale (Gavin 
Rondeau), Cody Cale (Tammi), Tanner Cale and Lisa Espinoza; and six 
great grandchildren, Matilda Cale Rondeau, Henri Cale Rondeau, Arthur 
Cale Rondeau, Sophia Cale, Lincoln Cale and Gabriela Espinoza. He was 
preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Norris; a daughter in 
law, Cathy Deines; and a brother, Kenneth Deines.&nbsp;

Funeral services for Cowboy are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, 
July 21, 2022, in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joel 
Downing officiating. Masonic Committal Services will be held. Interment 
will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster

Mildred Dechant, age 95, of Hays, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in Hays. She was born August 25, 1926, in Ellis County, Kansas, to Ed and Anna (Giest) Hoff. She married Gregory Dechant and he preceded her in death August 11, 1979. Mildred was a long-time caregiver and had worked for LINK as well as worked on her farm with her husband Gregory. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She is survived by a brother, Elmer Hoff of Hays; grandchildren, Robert Strachan, and Lori Riedel both of Hays; three great grandchildren, Kayla Riedel, and Terry Davis both of Hays and Deannea Riedel of Nebraska; and three great-great grandchildren, Lilly, Kaiser, and Gabriel Riedel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Kathleen Strachan; and three sisters, . Pharr, Texas, resident and former Goodland, Kansas, resident Clarice 
"Tootsie" Elizabeth Finley, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at
 the Goodland Regional Medical Center.

Clarice was born on January 25, 1933, in Yuma, Colorado, to Clarence E.
 and Lois I. (Hopkins) Taylor. She was one of seven children. She grew 
up and attended school in Goodland.

On August 15, 1951, she married Doyle D. Finley in San Diego, CA. To this union, two children were born: Elizabeth and Royce.

Growing up she worked in the family grocery store, Taylor's Grocery. 
After her marriage, she was a homemaker. Through the years she helped 
Doyle on the farm, and in his radiator shop, until they began to travel.
 She ended up in Texas where she could enjoy the warm climate.

She enjoyed traveling in her fifth wheel, reading Danielle Steel 
novels, and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed card/domino night 
with friends, and hearing from her family. She had a passion for garage 
sales and finding a bargain. She was known for her homemade desserts.

Preceding her in death, were her parents, her husband Doyle, one 
brother; Clinton Taylor and two sisters; Dorothy Jackson and Marjorie 
Hildebrenner.

She is survived by her two children; Liz (Daryl) West of Goodland, KS
 and Royce Finley of Anchorage, AK, four grandchildren; Trina (Brett) 
Haggadone of Broomfield, CO, Kyler West of Goodland, KS, Alicia West of 
Olathe, KS, and Landon (Lory) West of Arkansas City, KS, seven 
great-grandchildren; Salym West, Alynna, Gavin, and Breece Haggadone, 
and Peighton, Finleigh, and Remi West, two brothers; Harland (Muriel) 
and Don (Barb) Taylor, one sister Bebe Young; brother-in-law, Jerry 
(Bonnie) Finley, sister-in-law’s Anna Taylor, and Sharon Finley.

Jane S. Kaufman, formerly of Downs, passed away July 10, 2022. She was born December 17, 1944, in Beloit, KS, the daughter of Lee and Irene (Stegman) Hefley.  She was a retired operator for Southwestern Bell.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Kaufman and her parents.

Survivors include:  Donald (Victoria) Kaufman, Tulsa, OK;  Donna  Province, Chandler, OK; daughter-in-law Anita Kaufman, Carney, OK; brother, Ed (Linda) Hefley, Satellite Beach, FL: niece Tina; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren .

Laurine F. Werth, 90, Schoenchen, died Thursday, July 14, 2022, at HaysMed.

She was born June 4, 1932, in 
Schoenchen, the daughter of Frank and Lidwina (Tauscher) Werth.&nbsp; She 
married Larry Werth (Nick and Magdalena Werth family) on September 26, 
1949, in Schoenchen, and they were married 64 years before he preceded 
her in death on March 8, 2014.&nbsp; They lived several years in Wichita and 
returned to Schoenchen where they farmed and operated a sand business 
for many years.&nbsp; She cherished her home and family and was known as an 
excellent cook to all who were welcomed to her home.&nbsp; She was a member 
of St. Anthony Church and the St. Anthony Altar Society.

Survivors include three sons: Michel 
Werth, Nicolas Werth and wife Katie, both of Schoenchen, and Todd Werth 
of Udall, a daughter: Janel Moore and husband Orville of Hays, two 
sisters: Mary Ann Rendt and Genevieve Mendenhall, both of Wichita, 11 
grandchildren: Fr. Joshua Werth, Lucy Mullen, Alexandra Wessel and 
husband Brad, Russ Moore and wife Jana, Leigh Ann Edmonds and husband 
Casey, John Moore and wife Chelsea, Curtis Moore and wife Staci, Zachary
 Werth and wife Jessica, Alysha Bieberle and husband Zell, Connor Werth,
 and Tanner Diehl, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her 
parents, husband Larry, seven brothers: Francis Jr., Fred, Robert F., 
Irvin, Glenn Richard, Ernie, and Steve Werth, and two sisters: Lillian 
Graf and Cheryl Kay Thomas.

Marvin Russell “Rusty” Selby, 63, of Denver, CO passed away June 15, 
2022. Rusty was born in Emporia, KS, on September 14, 1958, to Marvin 
Selby and Doris (Hearn) Selby. The Selby family moved to Colby, KS in 
1964, where Rusty was raised until graduating from Colby High School in 
1977. 

After high school, Rusty attended Kansas State University, where 
he played in the marching band. After leaving KSU, Rusty moved to 
Dallas, TX, before settling for many years in Denver, CO. He also lived 
for several years in Goodland, KS before returning to Denver. During 
that time, he earned his Associate’s degree from Colby Community 
College. 
Rusty was well known for his entrepreneurial spirit. He had many small 
businesses over the years, starting with paper routes, owning his own 
ice cream delivery business, the Yellow YumYum, and running a firework 
stand in high school. After moving to Denver, he held positions in 
accounting and computers for a travel agency. Rusty was an incredibly 
kind man with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He was 
also renowned in his family for his intelligence and mechanical 
abilities. Rusty also loved dogs and enjoyed raising several beautiful 
Gordon Setters and Basset Hounds. 
Rusty was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Hearn Selby, and brother-in-law, Brad Fredrickson. 
Rusty is survived by his father and stepmother, Marvin and Bonnie Selby,
 of Linn Creek, MO; sisters, Gwyn Selby, of Dallas, TX, Gayle 
Fredrickson, of Kansas City, KS; and Glenda Coyle and her husband Steve,
 of Branson West, MO; nephew Cole Fredrickson; nieces, Carissa Sanders, 
Samantha Jones, and Elizabeth Jones; and 9 great nephews and nieces. 
A graveside service will be held at the Beulah Cemetery in Colby, KS on 
August 6, 2022, at 10:00am.

Michael Lee McKinney, age 69, of Hays, Kansas died in his home on June 28, 2022.&nbsp; He was born May 29, 1953, in Ellis, Kansas, to Chester Lee and Bonnie Jean (Mickelson) McKinney.

He married Deborah (Gutierrez) Rico on August 13, 1979, in Meade, Kansas.

Michael grew up in Meade.&nbsp; In 1971, he graduated from Meade High School and following his graduation he served 4 years in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975 and was a Vietnam Veteran.

He is survived by his brother: Dave of Hays, Kansas; sisters: Pam Ackerman of Meade, Kansas; and Carol Jones of San Antonio, Texas.&nbsp; Step-daughters: Jennifer Moore; Crystal Rico; Laurena Rico; a step-brother: Jimmy DeLong, and a step-sister: Pam McGee; together with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother: Everett; and his step-brother: Joe DeLong.

Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service, with military honors, at the State of Kansas Veterans Cemetery at WaKeeney is pending – Those service times will be announced by Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.

Bonnie Jean Peacock, age 63 years, of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away
 early on Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022, at her home in Great Bend.&nbsp; 


Bonnie was born on January 31, 1959, at Hays, Kansas, to Norman and Richie
 (Mallory) Gordon, and she grew up in WaKeeney, Kansas, until she was in 
the seventh grade, at which time the family moved to Goodland, Kansas.&nbsp; 
Bonnie graduated from Goodland High School in 1977 and then attended 
Northwest Kansas Area Vocational-Technical School for two years, where 
she earned a degree in Cosmetology.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to 
Randall D. Peacock on August 18, 1980, at Norfolk, Virginia. &nbsp;The couple 
moved to Great Bend in 1991, and Bonnie worked as a Food Service 
Employee for USD428 at Park Elementary School in Great Bend for 21 years
 until her retirement in 2021.&nbsp; Bonnie enjoyed cooking, going to yard 
sales, and thoroughly loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Randall D. Peacock of Great Bend, 
Kansas; three sons:&nbsp; Randall Painter of Chesterton, Maryland, Daniel 
(&amp; Shannon) Peacock of Mt. Vernon, Washington, and Nathaniel (&amp; 
Beth) Peacock of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren:&nbsp; Kitt Olzewski, 
Gunnar Peacock, Joel Painter, Kalli Peacock, Bentley Peacock, and Conner
 Peacock; three brothers:&nbsp; Don Gordon of Hoisington, Kansas, Norman

Emily Sophia Howie, 11 months, of Salina, passed 
away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2022, following medical treatment 
for respiratory issues for a recent cold.&nbsp; She was born July 30, 2021, to
 Justin and Ashley (Young) Howie. &nbsp;

Left to mourn her passing are her parents, siblings Madelyn and 
Connor; maternal grandparents, Fred and Rene Young; paternal 
grandparents, Gary and Katherina Howie; great-grandparents, Jim and 
Carol Vander Yacht, and Edward and Velma Howie; aunts and uncles, 
Phillip Howie (Becca), Dustin Young (Michelle), Sean Young (Chelsea), 
Christopher Young, and Shannon Young; cousins, Ava, Kelcy, Kolton, Kody,
 Kyler, Tyus and Brody.

Emily was the most precious, sweet, funny and lively little girl in 
the world and brought so much joy to our lives. We will miss her bright 
smile, her open mouth kisses, her constant happiness, laughs and 
giggles, her ornery games she liked to play and tease us with, her 
cuddles, late night feedings, waking up in the morning to her bright 
smile and every little thing about her. Emily loved playing with and 
trying to keep up with her brother and sister, splashing in the bathtub 
and pool, she loved her babies and playing peek-a-boo, this little piggy
 and patty-cake.&nbsp; She had the brightest personality, was so funny and 
had so much love for life and her family.&nbsp; Even though we will forever 
have a huge hole in our hearts, we are so thankful that we got to spend 
the 11 months with her that we did. Life will never be the same. We love
 you Emily and miss you so, so much.

Clarice Elizabeth (Taylor) Finley

Alfonso Valdez, age 68, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home located 
in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 29, 1954, in Ojinaga, Mexico. 
The son of Jose Valdez and Angelica Hernandez Valdez. 
Alfonso was born and raised in Mexico. He then migrated to the State of 
Texas in 1988 where he met his ex-wife Silvia Acosta. They then 
relocated to the state of Kansas where they raised five children and 
grandchildren. Alfonso was known as an outstanding Pen Rider and horse 
trainer. He dedicated his life to Poky Feeders located in Scott City, 
Kansas. 
Alfonso is survived by a son, three daughters, grandchildren and a 
spouse Dioselina Garcia also known as “Chaparra de mi Corazón” to 
Alfonso. His eldest daughter Edna Valdez and spouse Junior Jaramillo, 
surviving son Alfonso Jr, Valdez and wife Brittany Valdez, Jennifer and 
spouse Abraham Hernandez, youngest son Alonso Valdez that has passed and
 Armida and spouse Angelica Pachecho. Grandchildren, Rebecca, Cassandra,
 Shanya, Felipe, Martin, Quinton, Alonso Jr, Joseph, Eason, Andrew, 
Jaylnn, Eaziden, Adalie, Jaydon, Jacob, Quade, Jamie, Sergio, Claudia, 
Sarahi, Amaya. Three Great grandchildren, Lilah Joann, Cassiel Alfonso, 
and Autumn Dawn; and two siblings Arcelia, and Andres.

Alfonso Valdez

Richard H. Finnin (Dick) passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 86.&nbsp; He was surrounded by his immediate family.

Dick was born to Hugh and Amelia Finnin on January 18, 1936, spending
 his formative years in Flint, Michigan.&nbsp; His family moved to Ness City,
 KS where he graduated from high school in 1954.&nbsp; He was a three (3) 
sport letterman in football, basketball and baseball but most notably 
began dating his future bride in his senior year.&nbsp; He attended Fort Hays
 college prior to enlisting in the Army in 1955.

He began serving in the infantry, was selected to attend Officer 
Candidate School and upon graduation was deployed to Korea as a Second 
Lieutenant.&nbsp; Following his return to the States, he married his high 
school sweetheart, Carol Boyde in Morgantown, WV, September 1958.&nbsp; 
Dick’s continued advancement in the military included jump master school
 and aviator training in both fixed wing and helicopters.&nbsp; In 1962 he 
was injured in a helicopter crash in Mineral Wells, Texas.&nbsp; His care 
culminated at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.&nbsp;

Dick transitioned to civilian life by graduating from University of 
Denver Business School with his bachelor’s degree in business 
administration.&nbsp; His second career consisted of 25 years with The United
 Bank of Denver/Wells Fargo. He continued to enjoy a variety of sports, 
both as a spectator and participant, was an avid Broncos fan and 
appreciated the Rockies (those bums)!&nbsp; Dick was a devoted family man, 
raising his 4 sons and his daughter in the Catholic faith. His devotion 
can be seen in the success of his children and their families.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol, sons, Michael 
(Jennifer), Mark (Barb), Jeff (Kim), John (Lisa), daughter Marena Lertch
 (Christian), eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.&nbsp; 
Richard is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Borger (Kansas), 
brothers-in-law Harry Boyde (Michigan) and William Simoneau, five 
nieces, three nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.&nbsp; He was 
preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Amelia Finnin, Mother-in-law 
Angelina Boyde, younger brother James, sister-in-law Georgianna 
Simoneau, brother-in-law Gilbert Borger and nephews William Simoneau Jr.
 and Cody Munsch.

The services will be held at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Parish, 
18000 E. Arapahoe Road, Foxfield, CO. &nbsp;and will include a viewing and 
time with family at 4:30 pm on Monday, July 18, 2022, followed by a 
Rosary at 6:30 pm.&nbsp; The funeral service will include a viewing at 9:00 
am followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 
(live stream is available).&nbsp; A reception at the Holy Family Hall, within
 the church, will follow mass.&nbsp;

 </figure>Richard H. Finnin (Dick) passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 86.&nbsp; He was surrounded by his immediate family.Dick was born to Hugh and Amelia Finnin on January 18, 1936, spending
 his formative years in Flint, Michigan.&nbsp; His family moved to Ness City,
 KS where he graduated from high school in 1954.&nbsp; He was a three (3) 
sport letterman in football, basketball and baseball but most notably 
began dating his future bride in his senior year.&nbsp; He attended Fort Hays
 college prior to enlisting in the Army in 1955.He began serving in the infantry, was selected to attend Officer 
Candidate School and upon graduation was deployed to Korea as a Second 
Lieutenant.&nbsp; Following his return to the States, he married his high 
school sweetheart, Carol Boyde in Morgantown, WV, September 1958.&nbsp; 
Dick’s continued advancement in the military included jump master school
 and aviator training in both fixed wing and helicopters.&nbsp; In 1962 he 
was injured in a helicopter crash in Mineral Wells, Texas.&nbsp; His care 
culminated at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.&nbsp;Dick transitioned to civilian life by graduating from University of 
Denver Business School with his bachelor’s degree in business 
administration.&nbsp; His second career consisted of 25 years with The United
 Bank of Denver/Wells Fargo. He continued to enjoy a variety of sports, 
both as a spectator and participant, was an avid Broncos fan and 
appreciated the Rockies (those bums)!&nbsp; Dick was a devoted family man, 
raising his 4 sons and his daughter in the Catholic faith. His devotion 
can be seen in the success of his children and their families.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol, sons, Michael 
(Jennifer), Mark (Barb), Jeff (Kim), John (Lisa), daughter Marena Lertch
 (Christian), eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.&nbsp;
