Kenneth L. Wing, 84, passed peacefully at his home in Mt. Vernon, MO on September 8, 2022.&nbsp; Ken was born December 28, 1937, the third son of Lester and Emma Mae (King) Wing. Ken grew up in Hays and graduated from St. Joseph’s Military Academy in 1955. Upon his graduation, he immediately left to pursue a career with the Marine Corps. He served 18 years with the Marines which included three tours of Viet Nam and one tour of Okinawa.

After retiring from the Corps, Ken spent several years in the National Guard Reserves with the Hays and Hutchinson units. He completed a Tech degree at Pittsburg State College during that time. He later returned to Hays and taught Auto Mechanics for several years at the NCK Technical College. Ken married Chiyoko Wing in 1973.&nbsp; She preceded him in death in 1996. Ken married Sharon Vestal in 2013.&nbsp; Survivors include his wife Sharon of the home, children Melinda and Dennis, Texas, step-children Cindy (Phil) Denning, Chaz Carroll, Candi Castillo, and seven step-grandchildren, brothers Bill (Alice), Salina, Dale (Mary Ann), Hays, and David (Doris), Hays, along with 10 nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Condolences can be sent to Sharon Wing, 14221 Glenward St. Mt.
