Carolann Morrison, age 89, of Great Bend, Kansas passed away Monday afternoon, July 17, 2023 at The University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend campus. &nbsp;Carolann (a.k.a. Carol Ann) was born in Great Bend, Kansas on August 19,1933 to Ethel Marie (Milberger) and Judson T. Bradford. 

At an early age her father died in an oil field accident. &nbsp;A few years later, her widowed mother and John S. “Jack” Morrison were united in marriage. It was then she was adopted by Jack Morrison.

Carolann went to elementary through high school in Great Bend, Kansas graduating in 1951. During part of her high school years, she wrote a column for the Great Bend Tribune called Teen Talk. After graduating, she attended Kansas University and St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas. 

She became a flight attendant for Braniff Airways. She was based out of Kansas City, before moving to Dallas, TX where she pursued her career until 1966. After leaving Braniff, she worked in the travel industry until retirement on April 16, 1999. &nbsp;She returned to Great Bend to live with and care for her mother.

Carolann was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Great Bend, the Presbyterian Women, and the Red Hat Society. &nbsp;She served on the Great Bend Library Board for eight years. Her pets were her greatest joy.

She is survived by her cousin, Mary Everett of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mary’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild; and Kevin Pflughoeft of Great Bend, Kansas who Carolann called the adopted grandson. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents.

According to Carolann’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery at Great Bend, Kansas. 

Carolann requested that memorials be designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society at Great Bend, Kansas with Charter Funerals in charge.

Gary Stephen Sack, 82, Hays, died Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born January 16, 1941 in Hays, the son of Peter Paul and Anna (Brungardt) Sack. He attended Yocemento Grade School and graduated from Hays High School. 

From 1959 until 1965, he served in the Kansas Army National Guard, and on May 5, 1962 he was united in marriage to Joyce M. Hallum in Muskogee, Oklahoma, a union that lasted that spanned 61 years of marriage. 

Gary worked in the oil fields, for Service Master and Travenol, and was a lifelong farmer and rancher. 

His memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays American Legion Post #173, Ellis County Home Administration Board, Ellis County Pork Producers, Big Creek Township Board, 4-H Club, the Ellis County Farm Bureau Board, serving as president for eight years, and FFA in high school. 

Gary enjoyed collecting glass and metal horses since childhood and gathering with friends every Sunday morning.

Survivors include his wife Joyce of the home, two sons, Gary Sack, Jr. and wife Maureen of Warren, MI and Jeff Sack and wife Angie of Hays, three daughters, Janet Ehrlich and husband Melvin of Victoria, Susan Rajewski and husband Bill of Vincent, and Rose Turner and husband Barton of Pinellas Park, FL, three sisters, Karen Burden of Lakin, Yvonne Randolph and husband Rich of Surprise, AZ, and Elaine Sack of Bakersfield, CA, a brother-in-law, Joe Meier, Jr. of Bakersfield, CA, 11 grandchildren, Stephen Sack and wife Crystal, Danielle Gorham and husband Chad, Rick Ehrlich, Bobbi Rubeck and husband Greg, Benjamin Rajewski, Emily Louis, Gary Sack III, Jacob Sack, Dustin Rajewski, Kimberly Sack, and Brooke Turner, four great-grandchildren, Noah Sack, Elizabeth Stephenson, Nathaniel and Abigail Rubeck, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol Meier, brother-in-law, Jerry Burden, and a niece, Becky Burden.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 on Tuesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Recitation of the rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 6:30 p.m., all on Monday at the funeral home.

Deborah A. “Debbie” Jimison, 66, died July 19, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. &nbsp;She was born August 18, 1956, in Ellinwood, Kansas, the daughter of Gene and Marietta (Bieberle) Mooney. 

Debbie graduated from Bushton High School in 1975.&nbsp;

On August 23, 1975, she maried Kyle M. Jimison in Bushton, Kansas.&nbsp;

A lifetime Bushton resident, Debbie worked for Wal-Mart, Dollar General and most recently The Thunderbird Center in Bushton, retiring in December of 2022. Debbie enjoyed her work in retail as she could talk to anyone. 

Her family describes her as the rock of the family, always caring for everyone. They fondly remember her great cooking and baking skills, especially her mashed potatoes, potato salad, mac and cheese, oven-baked spaghetti and her homemade bierocks, to name a few. Besides cooking Debbie enjoyed coloring, word search puzzles, and cross-stich.&nbsp;

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kyle M. Jimison of the home; two sons, Chad Jimison and wife Misty of Clearwater and Jermy Jimison of Little River; three grandchildren, Taylor Jimison of Ellsworth, Daxton Jimison, and Tymberlin Jimison both of Clearwater; two brothers, Roy Mooney and wife Joyce, and Floy Mooney, all of Bushton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Mooney.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2023, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel. &nbsp;Inurnment service will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, rural Bushton, Kansas. &nbsp;Friends may sign the book only as cremation has taken place.

Kathern G. Wellington, 79, of Bird City, Kansas, whose maiden name was Carolyn Yvonne Duke, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2023.

She was born March 9, 1944 at College Hospital in Glendale, California.

Kathern was preceded in death by her father, Vivian Mortiman Duke III, mother, Florence Lorraine Boyson, and sister, Vivien Patricia Duke (Lossius).

Survivors include her brother, David Byron Duke, her sister, Sandra Gail Duke (Yocum), five children, Yvonne, Sherry, Thomas, Michael, and Melissa, eight grandchildren, Shayrah, Sarah, Mickaela, Travis, Matthew, Melodie, Kaylen, and Sydni, and seven great-grandchildren, Kylie, Mischa, Pascal, Korben, Lilu, Emmett, and Audrey.

Soon after Kathern was born, her family moved to Bird City, Kansas where her mother was born. She spent her grade school years in Bird City. 

While attending Christ’s Ambassador of the Assembly of God church in Bird City she gave her life to Jesus. She would often tell the story of her first encounter with the Lord. 

During her jr. high and high school years, her family lived in El Monte, California. She went to Rosemead High School where she went to many proms and winter dances. She was also involved choir and track. It was then that she got married and started a family of her own and had her five children.

Kathern had a wonderful spirit and would light up a room with her bubbly personality. She was the life of the party and very outgoing. 

In 1968, her sister Sandra became born-again and a year later asked Kathern to go to church with her, an Assembly of God church in Monrovia. There she rededicated her life to the Lord and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Kathern became a devout Christian and made sure her children always attended church with her Sunday morning, Sunday night and Thursday night. Her love for the Lord poured out in her work for the Kingdom of God. She, along with her sister Sandra, would pull her children in a wagon and go door-to-door spreading the good news about Jesus. She sang in the church choir and sometimes solo or duets with her sisters. They had a bus ministry that would pick up children for Sunday School. She also taught children’s Sunday School, loved working with children, and would never let an opportunity pass when she could tell someone about Jesus. She never knew a stranger.

Kathern was a fantastic writer and wrote many children’s stories and songs. Her lifelong dream was to have one of her children’s books published. Many of the books and songs were about Jesus.

She was not content in California at that time and repeatedly talked about moving back to Kansas, where she lived as a youth. In 1975, she got her wish and her family moved to Goodland, Kansas, then to Brewster, Kansas, where many of her children attended high school. Later she moved back to California to various cities spread throughout southern and northern California.

When she was in her 40s, she went back to school and earned her high school diploma, then moved on to college and had one of her poems, “Mystic Warrior,” published in a book of poems. She also went on to get her CNA license and worked in private duty nursing for many years. 

During her time in Placerville, California, she took care of her sister Vivien who had gotten in a train accident. She helped Vivien with her flower shop and aided her with her nursing home business. Years later while working as a private duty nurse, it led her to the beach. She grew a special fondness to the beach and the beach lifestyle. She lived at the beach many years. From then on, she had the desire to live or spend time at the beach.

In her later years, Kathern along with her daughter Melissa, took care of her mother, Lorraine. After her mother died, she moved back to Bird City to live with Melissa the remaining years of her life.

Duane G. Legleiter (aka Butch or Tiny), 60, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his home.

He was born January 19, 1963, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Francis and Mary Ann (Dinkel) Legleiter. 

He was a lifetime resident of Rush County, Kansas, a 1981 graduate of La Crosse High School and was employed with Rush County Highway Department for 36 years, running heavy equipment, building bridges and supervising day to day operations for several years. 

He was a passionate farmer, helped with the Legleiter and Sons Construction Company in the 1970s&nbsp; and '80s, collector of Budweiser memorabilia, and he just seemed to know a little bit about everything.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Liebenthal, Kansas, and served on the parish council for many years.

On November 17, 1984, he married his high school sweetheart, Monica McLaughlin in La Crosse.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse. A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.

Church visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Liebenthal.

He was a lifetime resident of Rush County, Kansas, a 1981 graduate of La Crosse High School and was employed with Rush County Highway Department for 36 years, running heavy equipment, building bridges and supervising day to day operations for several years. Elda Hamit passed away on Monday morning, July 17, 2023, at the Rooks County Health Center at the age of 100. Elda was born on May 17, 1923, to Leo and Eva (Atkinson) Elliott in Torrington, Wyoming.

She spent the first two and one-half years of her life in Wyoming before moving to Kansas where she enjoyed growing up on the farm in northern Rooks County. 

She attended country school in Bow Creek Township for the first six years of grade school and then two more years Phillips County. She graduated from Logan High School and planned to go to college to become a teacher. 

To raise money for college she took a teaching job at a nearby county school and during her first year of teaching, there happened to be a local farmer who stopped by to look for a lost calf. She later learned from her students that the farmer with the lost calf often stopped by whenever there was a new schoolteacher. This time it paid off! In just a few short months, on April 22nd, 1942, Elda became Mrs. Marion Hamit, and the thoughts of college became a distant memory. From that time on she was happy with her role as farmwife, mother (of three very "active" sons), grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Elda was highly active in her community, serving on numerous committees, leadership positions, and boards. Elda spent her time with her sons as they went through 4-H with their many projects. She also assisted the youth of Mt Pleasant 4-H club with their cooking and sewing. Elda judged sewing for 4-H at the fair. She was an avid quilter and loved making quilts for all her family with special emphasis on making sure each grandchild and great-grandchild had one of her quilts. Elda was also a great cook! She loved trying new recipes and often her family got to be taste testers, which was usually a rewarding opportunity.

Elda loved to read and upon retirement she and Marion were able to travel and visit numerous locations, foreign and domestic, that she had read about that had a common interest to them.

Her faith was especially important to her and during her child-raising years she invoked a special emphasis to her boys on the importance of having God first in their lives. In her later years, she was able to witness that her efforts were not in vain (though she may have, on more than one occasion, wondered). She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church in northwest Rooks County until the church closed its doors in 1979 and then she attended Stockton Methodist Church until she was no longer physically able to attend.

Elda was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Eva Elliott, her sister, Maxine Cook, her husband, Marion Hamit, and a grandson, Judd Hamit.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Barbara) Hamit, Nowata OK, Richard (Lila) Hamit, Overbrook, KS, Donald (Terry) Hamit, Stockton, KS; five grandchildren: Rich (Kristy) Hamit, Marlyn (Adam) Bryant, Joni (Kurt) Seboe, Carlie (Brian) Sturgeon, and Josh (Patricia) Hamit;&nbsp; 13 great-grandchildren: Clayton and Landon Becker, Brenden (Kiersten) Hamit, Harris Hamit (Jason, fiancé), Haley (Scott) Cleveland, Kira (Jordan) Johansen, Alec and Braden Seboe, Morgan (Dakota) Enslow, Aricka Miller, Elisabeth Sturgeon, Elliott and Penny Hamit; four, soon to be five, great-great-grandchildren: Bryson and Emmaline Hamit, Sophia Cleveland, C.J. Enslow, and with one more on the way. Elda also had her four nieces: Margaret Elliott, Sue Regier, Nancy Huffman, and Kristi Utchell.

Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Stockton Methodist Church (Church of Restoration) in Stockton with burial to follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Elda Ruth Hamit

Roy Don Wright, 81, of Luray, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.

Don was born August 1, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Henry and Edith (Pasmore) Wright. 

He grew up in Kansas City until the age of five when his family moved to Shenandoah, Iowa. After five years they returned to the Kansas City area. Then, in high school, his family moved to Santa Ana, California where he graduated from high school. 

Don served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962. He served on the USS Matthews, a cargo ship. After his tour he returned to Santa Ana.

Don was united in marriage to Lynne Fenton on September 28, 1962 in Costa Mesa, California. This union was blessed with a son, Thomas. They were given over 60 years of marriage together. 

Most of these years were filled with hard work, but also much love and devotion. They were a team, increasingly aware with the passage of time that the Lord held them in His hands. They lived in Washington state, southern Kansas, eastern Oregon, Arkansas, and then moved to Luray in 2003.

Don was blessed with the ability to do many things during his life. He was a truck driver, a mill man at a feed yard, a cutter-grader at Marvin Wood Products in Oregon, a welder, owner and operator of the “Hob Nob” restaurant in Protection, Kansas. 

He enjoyed fishing, outdoor photography, traveling with Lynne and creating originally designed greeting cards. Don was unassuming, usually more at home in the background. He put a high value on friendship and was willing to go the extra mile in any way he could.

Don is with the Lord now, joyful and free of any sorrow or pain. He loved his family from the depths of his heart. 

He leaves behind his wife Lynne of the home; son, Thomas Wright and wife Heather of Pratt, Kansas; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Wright; and sisters, Ruth Showalter and Betty Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Amherst Cemetery in rural Russell County. No visitation is being held. 

A memorial has been established with Amherst Church.

Frances Marie Michaelis, age 98, died on July 11, 2023, at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Long-Term Care. &nbsp;She was born on May 7, 1925, in Russell, Kansas the daughter of George and Susan (Eichman) Wiedeman.

Frances was baptized on May 31, 1925, in Russell and confirmed on May 28, 1939, at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Trego Center, Kansas. &nbsp;

She attended Cochran Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of the Brownell High School. &nbsp;She attended Fort Hays State College where she earned her teaching certificate and taught for three years at the Cochran and Mount Pleasant schools.

On April 6, 1947, she married Elmer Michaelis in WaKeeney, Kansas where the couple made their home, ran their business, and raised their two children, Arla and Tye. 

Frances was the deputy county clerk for two years and she was the secretary and bookkeeper for Michaelis Electric until she retired in 1986. 

She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bethlehem Daughters, Rebekahs, the Locust Club, a Federated Music Society, Em-Cro-Knit sewing circle, a Boy and Girl Scout Leader and a leader of a senior exercise group. 

Frances loved to grow flowers and work in her yard, cook special dishes for her family, travel, play bridge, and make quilts with the church ladies. &nbsp;She was always busy helping others. &nbsp;

Frances is survived by her daughter, Arla Homburg of Stockton; son, Tye (Lisa) Michaelis of Topeka; four grandchildren, Aaron (Nichol) Homburg, Andrew (Tara) Homburg, Neely (Jacob) Halsey, and Charly Michaelis; eight great grandchildren, Sylas Halsey, KaiLee Medlen, August Homburg, Terran Homburg, Joseph Raat, Brogan Homburg, Rowen Homburg, Rylin Homburg; three great great grandchildren, MonRoe Medlen, Emma and Elijah Raat. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, her brothers, Hubert and Clarence Wiedeman, and her special friend, Dick Woodall.

Monica was born September 5, 1970, to Dwight and Edna Lowman in Hays, where she grew up surrounded by a large family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, spread between Hays and Ellis, on Edna's side of the family. Monica had been in contact with Dwight's side of the family, mostly online, and took a vacation to Pennsylvania to meet some of them, and always said how much she loved that trip and wished she could have gone back.

Monica loved to craft, a lot of which she got interested in at a young age, spending time with her beloved grandma, Rose Engel, and other family. &nbsp;Monica loved long drives, even if it was to no particular destination, and spent a lot of days off and vacations just traveling and seeing different parts of Kansas and the rest of the country or visiting family. &nbsp;

Monica also loved genealogy, a hobby inspired by her son, Jacob, during a school project, which grew into a dedicated hobby for most of her remaining life. &nbsp;For many years, it inspired Monica to reach out and talk to more extended family in various places, which gave her great joy throughout the years. Monica also loved her various cats through the years.

Monica worked at various positions at various nursing homes, acquiring CNA, MedAid and other certifications that she was proud of. &nbsp;She loved working with the residents in WaKeeney, Oakley, and other facilities. &nbsp;When COVID hit, Monica retired out of the nursing homes and was an assistant manager at Caseys, Ellis. Monica then enjoyed her various positions at Loves Travel Shop, Ellis, until she couldn't physically handle the work anymore due to cancer. They were always kind to her after her diagnosis.

Monica is survived by her mother, Edna; son, Jacob; and husband, Jim, all of WaKeeney; brothers, Stacey (Gwinn) Lowman of Atascadero, CA and Tony (Michelle) Lowman and their three children, Mark, Ellie and Mike of Phoenix, AZ. Monica is also survived by a multitude of cousins, aunts, uncles in Kansas and other parts of the country.

Oliver Lee Fyfe, was born November 14, 1930, in Ottawa County, KS to William Guy Fyfe and Ethel May (Chayer) Fyfe. He left this world to pass his contagious smile on to others on July 17, 2023, in Oakley, KS at the age of 92. Oliver graduated high school in 1949 from Clay Center, KS and then joined the Kansas Army National Guard. In the early 1950s he moved to Winona, KS with his parents.

Shortly after moving, he met the love of his life through his National Guard family. He married Anna Cecelia Stegeman on February 11, 1956. To this union 4 children were born. Oliver served 34-plus years of military service in the Kansas Army National Guard with his final assignment in the Colby unit. He was highly involved in many community organizations, including the American Legion, Honor Guard, Farm Bureau, Boy Scouts, and FFA. He held key positions in some of these organizations.

Oliver was employed by the Wielands from the early 1950s to 2017. He had a deep love for his family, country, farming and the community. Oliver was well-liked and always had a smile for everyone. He was someone that was respected and approachable. He always said if you talked to someone long enough you would find a commonalty with them. His hobbies included: hunting, reading, staying current with the news and WEATHER, traveling, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna, his parents, his sister Doris, and his grandsons, Lee and Maverick. He is survived by children, Deborah and Barry Christensen, David and Terri Fyfe, Dorothy and Darrell See, and Dennis and Dulci Fyfe; grandchildren, Steven Wilcox, Rachel and Casey Baker, Justin and Nicole Fyfe, Michaell and Jessica See, Brenda and Kenny Sova, and Erika Way; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Cohen, Carson, Cameron, Cecelia, Sierra, Katelynn, Kylee, Lillian, Bennett, Xavier, Dante, and Ronin; brother John and Nadine Fyfe; sister Emily Henderson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He always had a smile and will be missed by all that have shared his joy for life. Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, KS. Oliver Fyfe

Randy Lee Basgall, 63, of Hays, Kansas died July the 11, 2023 at Hays Medical Center after a short battle with metastatic cancer. His passing was peaceful, surrounded by his children, who ushered him into the loving arms of God.

Randy was born to Barbara (Schmidt) and Jerome Basgall on August 18, 1959 in Great Bend, Kansas in the family car on the way to the hospital, an event that set the stage for a lifetime of mischievousness and an innate love of vehicles.

 An active member of his church from childhood, above all else, Randy’s enduring love for Christ permeated throughout his entire life.

Albeit ornery at times, Randy's truest nature was rooted in exuberance. He welcomed others with his kind smile, warm heart, and zest for life. A trip into town always took twice as long for Randy because he relished the opportunity to chat with the friends and family he would inevitably bump into.

Randy was a renaissance man, as well as serving for 20+ years as caregiver for his disabled brother, Duane, was delighted in his many careers and hobbies which included cross-country trucking under CB handle "Sonrunner," cement masonry, oil rig roughnecking, rental home management and anything to do with motors and mechanics. He was exceptionally handy at home and car repair, skills he dutifully passed on to his children.

He leaves behind his children, Marlowe (Alec) Fenton of Olathe, KS, Isaac Basgall (AJ Jacks) of Hays, KS and bonus son Charles (Erica) Miller of Lynn Valley, KS; grandchildren Leila, Seeley, Parker, Sophia and Jacob; four siblings, Patty Partridge of Choctaw, OK Mike Basgall of Byson, KS, Duane Basgall of Hays, KS and Marlene Hamit of Springfield, MO plus numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins as well as previous wife Helene (Kasselman) Basgall.

Those who have passed before him include his mother, Barbara (Schmidt) Basgall, father Jerome Basgall, brother, Earl Basgall, twin granddaughters Evelynn and Phoebe, previous wife Dodie (Lewis) Basgall and his best friend, Delilah, the boxer dog.

A celebration of life will be held in Randy's honor on his birthday, the 18th of August 2023 starting at noon at the Hays V.F.W.

Glenda Joyce (Schmidt) Koehn passed away on July 4, 2023, at Greeley County Hospital. She was born in Copeland, Kansas, on April 18, 1933 to Albert N. and Margaret Schmidt. 

She was the youngest of five children, and her first years of school&nbsp;required her to walk across the road to a one-room schoolhouse.

Glenda met and fell in love with Loid Koehn of Montezuma. They were married on September 17, 1950, and later moved to Wallace County in 1960 as a family of five. 

In addition to helping Loid on the farm, Glenda enjoyed photography, quilting, grandkids, crafts, and traveling in their motorhome. 

Glenda was able to celebrate her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends from across the country, one of her highlights in life.

Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings Donald, Darrel, Dwayne, and Marjorie; husband Loid Koehn; son Stanley Koehn; granddaughter Tori (Cox) Mathias.

Surviving family includes daughter-in-law Pegi Koehn of La Junta, Colorado; grandson&nbsp;Devin (Tanya) Koehn of Bennington and children Caleb, Dylan, and Ericka;&nbsp;granddaughter Kenzie (Michael) Andino and grandson Bric Koehn; daughter Stacey&nbsp;Cox and her husband Mike of Weskan, their daughter Tera (Camron) Funk of Sharon&nbsp;Springs, and children Hailey, Cade, and Mya; Ross (Megan) Cox of Sharon Springs,&nbsp;and children Gage, Carter, and Mason; Jeff Mathias of Syracuse and children Reid and&nbsp;Ivy; Clayton (Jessica) Cox of Weskan and children Cole, Hogan, and Sydney; daughter&nbsp;Sherry Lawless of Sharon Springs, children Erin (Mary) Lawless of Hays; Mindy (Kris)&nbsp;Kirk of Winona and children Dally, Shea, Kolt; Hannah (Daniel) Roberts of San Diego,&nbsp;California, and son Lucas; Kayla (Dalton) Brooks of Sharon Springs and children&nbsp;Keagan, Kinley, and Ki; and a long line of other family members.

Diane Loretta Roulier passed away at the home of her son and daughter in-law, Brad and Amanda (Aschenbrenner) Roulier near Brewster, Kansas on July 4th, 2023.

Diane was born at the family home in Goodland, Kansas on Wednesday, November 27, 1940. 

She met her husband Larry in the summer of 1958; they were engaged that fall. Larry wanted her to move to Brewster to finish her senior year, but she wanted to graduate from Goodland, KS. She graduated for Goodland High School in 1959. 

Larry and Diane were married on August 8th, 1959, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland, Kansas. To this union, they welcomed two sons, Marc and Brad.

Diane was a stay-at-home mom to their two boys and valued family above all else. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren Dara (Roulier) and Jerray Nichols, Brett Roulier, Kara Roulier, and Bryce Roulier, and her great-grandchildren, Ryklin and Jettsyn Nichols.

Diane enjoyed being the daycare provider for her four grandchildren who affectionately called her Meme. She often talked about how much that time with them meant to her. She was also able to go out to Denver for the birth of her second great-grandson Jettsyn Aiden Nichols. She often talked about how special that opportunity was to her. 

Diane was a rock enthusiast, enjoyed gardening in her later years, was an avid book reader and was known for her love of her “pretties.”

Preceding her in death were her husband of 60 years, Larry Leroy Roulier, her parents Paul M. Daniels and Margaret E. (Crocker) Daniels, her in-laws Amedie E Roulier and Wiletta (Rawson) Roulier, her sister Rita (Daniels) Light, her brothers, Paul “Joe” Daniels, Gary Daniels, and Damien (Kenny) Daniels, her brother in-law Dale Light as well other extended family.

Diane is survived by her sister LaDonna (Jim) Corder of Perry, IA, brother Jack (Nancy) Daniels of Muscatine, IA, her sons Marc (Tina) Roulier of Russell, KS, Brad and Amanda (Aschenbrenner) Roulier of Brewster, KS, her grandchildren Jerray and Dara (Roulier) Nichols of Winona, KS, Brett Roulier, Kara Roulier, and Bryce Roulier of Brewster, KS, great-grandsons Ryklin and Jettsyn Nichols of Winona, KS and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
