Sue Hahn, 70, died Saturday, August 19, 2023, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born June 12, 1953, in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Gilbert Raymond and Claradella (Horton) Widows.

Sue has lived most of her life in Garden City, except for 2 years where she lived in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Sue attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School. She later attended Garden City Community College.

She worked in accounting as a bookkeeper for Brookover and later at Southwest Ag.

Sue was an avid reader and enjoyed reading mostly murder mysteries. She loved KU basketball and watching Patrick Mahomes play for both Texas Tech and the Kansas City Chiefs.

On April 29, 1972, she married Michael J. Hahn in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Launda L. (Ted) Herman of Lathrop, Missouri, and Susan R. (Danny) Rojas of Garden City, Kansas; a sister, Joyce Roberts of Salina, Kansas; a brother, Thomas Widows of Hutchinson, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Claradella Widows; a brother, Gilbert Leslie Widows; and three sisters, Jackie Widows, Shellie Belben, and an infant sister, Della Raye Widows.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev. Jim Akins and Von Hunn officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours.

The family suggests memorials given to the Cancer Center and the University of Kansas Medical Center or to the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
