Work on a pair of resurfacing projects is expected to begin the week of Aug. 10 in Atwood.

Project activity will include a mill and overlay on U.S. 36 from 5th Street to 8th Street and on K-25 from near the south city limits to Main Street. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zones and directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should expect minor delays.

The Kansas Department of Transportation is overseeing the work, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.

McCormick Excavation and Paving of Stratton, Colo., is the primary contractor for both projects with contract costs totaling approximately $93,000 on U.S. 36 and $208,000 on K-25.
