The Hays USD 489 school board will discuss the results of a community survey on possible bond options at its meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Rockwell Administration Center.

District officials have not finalized what they will take to voters, but have floated three options. Each option includes building a new school — either a high school, middle school or elementary school.

The most expensive option would be to build a new high school. Cost estimate is $143.5 million over a 25-year bond. The cost per month on a $150,000 home would be $33.42.

Officials have also discussed breaking the projects into two bonds, which would decrease the per-month cost. However, this option would likely cost more over time and require a second bond vote.

The board will also hear information about recommended adjustments to district COVID mitigation levels.

The board also plans to tour Westside school.
