The Hays High volleyball team captured their first Western Athletic Conference title since 1994. Their coach, Shannon Funk, today was named the Coach of the Year in the conference.
Hays finished their year at 18-18.
Junior Carly Lang was named to the WAC First Team. Seniors Aleyia Ruder and Ella Voth landed on the the second team.
Along with Lang on the first team was Conference Player of the Year, Bree Horyna of Liberal and her teammate Rylie Hallman. Mataya Clark (Dodge City), Piper Harris (Garden City), and Valerie Luna (Great Bend) rounded out the first team.
Ruder and Voth are joined on the second team by Lizzy Cisneros (Liberal), Brook McReynolds (Great Bend), and Garden City's Makenzie Lucas and Mya Delacruz.
