Early Childhood Connections celebrates 30 years

The USD 489 Early Childhood Connections program will celebrate its thirty-year anniversary with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 9:30 a.m.

USD 489 Early Childhood Connections is a child development, parenting and family services program for pregnant women and families.  The program integrates Parents as Teachers, Early Head Start, Head Start and Preschool-Aged At-Risk Program.  There is no cost for families receiving Connections services.  The program provides services to over 380 children, and their families, in Ellis, Rush, Rooks and Russell Counties.

The celebration will be held at the USD 489 Early Childhood Complex located at 2501 E. 13th.  In addition to the Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and refreshments, the program will have “birthday party” activities for the children currently enrolled in the program.  All celebration activities will be held outside.  The ribbon cutting and refreshments are open to the public.
