The Flying Bison Disc Golf Club has expanded the participant field for the 42nd Annual Frontier Open Disc Golf Tournament, scheduled for September 12–13, 2026, at Frontier Park in Hays.
Previously capped at 180 players, the tournament added a new course to accommodate 270 competitors. Pre-registration filled in just five days, and eight players are currently on the waitlist.
The annual Frontier Open is the oldest sanctioned Professional Disc Golf Association tournament in Kansas and is expected to be the second-largest disc golf tournament in the state this year. The event is sanctioned by the Kansas Disc Golf Association.
With the addition of the new course, the Flying Bison Disc Golf Club is seeking volunteers to assist during the tournament. No prior experience is necessary, and individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in volunteering, should contact brett_straight@hotmail.com.
