A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of western Kansas, going into effect at midnight.
Moderate to heavy snow is expected west of Ellis County, with 3 to 5 inches of accumulation expected, the National Weather Service in Goodland reported.
Slippery road conditions are expected to impact the morning and evening commute for much of northwest Kansas. West of Ellis County, snow is expected to begin late Monday and continue into Tuesday morning.
In Hays and Ellis County, the National Weather Service in Dodge City is calling for the possibility of 1 to 2 inches of snowfall. There is a 60 percent chance of snow Tuesday, dissipating Tuesday night.
A high of 25 degrees is expected Tuesday. Skies are projected to clear Wednesday and into the weekend.
