A winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight for Hays and Ellis County, the National Weather Service in Dodge City reported Tuesday morning.
Monday's forecast of snowfall primarily accumulating west of Hays have shifted, with Ellis County now with a 73 percent chance of receiving 2 inches of snow or more. Up to 4 inches of snow is possible in the Hays area, with more accumulation expected farther west.
Snow is expected to taper off by 8 p.m. Tuesday. Wind chills Tuesday night are expected to be near zero.
