SALINA — As the volunteer sponsor of the 2022 Senior LPGA Championship at the Salina Country Club later this week, the Kansas Department of Commerce has assembled "The Governor's Team" to play in the Pro-Am Tournament Thursday.
The 2022 Senior LPGA Championship is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday at the Salina Country Club. Annika Sörenstam is scheduled to headline the 78-player field for the 2022 Senior LPGA Championship.

Likewise, Governor Laura Kelly's team for the Pro-Am event Thursday has some of the state's best collegiate golfers: Aliyah North (Fort Hays State University), Gianna Augustine (Kansas State University), Hannah Hawks (University of Kansas), and Megan Lucas (Wichita State University). A senior pro will be named after the pairing party on Wednesday evening.

The Pro-Am is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at noon on Thursday with 17 teams competing. Each team will consist of four amateur players and one senior pro. Several local businesses have sponsored teams and viewing of the event is open to the public.
