OSBORNE — The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin roadwork on a portion of U.S. 281 (South 1st Street) in the city of Osborne starting this week.
Crews will be replacing the concrete pavement, curb and gutter between Connecticut and Massachusetts streets. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone and controlled by a traffic signal. Minor delays not exceeding 5 minutes should be expected.
KDOT anticipates work to be completed by mid-November, weather permitting. The $539,000 project is being funded through KDOT’s City Connecting Link Improvement Program, which funds improvements to state highways that extend through cities.
Bryant & Bryant Construction of Halstead will serve as the primary contractor.
