NORTON — The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has started work on a bridge repair project along Interstate 70 in Ellis County.
Crews are completing surface and substructure work on the bridges carrying I-70 over 160th Avenue, located approximately four miles east of Exit 145 at Ellis. Traffic in both directions has been reduced to one lane through the work zones, and a 60 miles per hour speed limit is in effect.
KDOT expects project work to be completed by the end of September, conditions permitting.
PCiRoads, St. Michael, Minnesota, is the project’s primary contractor with a total contract cost of approximately $676,000.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
