📷 Ellis celebrates opening of new shelter, park improvments

ELLIS—The Ellis Foundation celebrated the opening of a new shelter house and other improvements on Sept. 8 at Creekside Park with a community block party.

A fire pit and benches were also added at the park.

Area nonprofit organizations offer informational booths and activities at the block party.

Pauleen Edmonds, foundation president, welcomed the crowd and thanked the many sponsors who supported the park project. 

"Today is all about community," she said. "Please enjoy the food, enjoy the music and the fellowship."
