Hays city commissioners will today discuss a citizen's request to allow golf carts to be driven on city streets.

If the city commission chooses to allow golf carts, it is staff’s recommendation that they be insured, operated by a licensed driver over the age of 18, and have seat belts.

Other agenda items for the March 7 work session include an annual activity report from North Central Kansas Technical College and its use of the city-owned Big Creek campus on Main Street.

Jeff Crispin, director of water resources, will present a low bid recommendation to upgrade the waterline along Walnut Street between 11th and 17th Streets. Bids were received from two contractors with the low bid coming from J Corp, Hays, for $759,955.

The complete agenda is available here

The meeting starts at 4 p.m. in Hays City Hall, 1507 Main.
