The Hays Area Planning Commission is scheduled to conduct a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday for a rezoning request from the city of Hays.

The&nbsp; city purchased the additional property  at 1732 W. 41st Street around a city water well and booster&nbsp;station several years ago with future development of a fire station in mind.&nbsp;

The property has always been in agriculture production and is currently zoned A-L Agriculture
District. The request is to change the zoning to P-I Public and Institutional District.
