The time has come to invest in our community’s school facilities. I was against the bond the last time it was presented to voters, but I was uninformed.
As our kids have reached the age to visit other schools for their sporting functions, it has become abundantly apparent that our facilities are drastically inferior to our peer communities. And to make things worse, costs have increased so much that we could only do half the improvements if we had the same amount of money as the last bond proposal.
And it will only get more and more expensive if we don’t do something now. I was wrong last time, but we can get it right now — it’s time to invest in Hays’ schools. Join me on May 10 by voting yes for both the bond and sales tax options.
